Default email contacts and calendar settings lost

I have an Ipone 5. My default email account was playing up, now that mail is working I've lost my old emails, folders, contacts and calender. helllp please... I've tried deleting the email account and re-adding the account. but still the same thing happens only has new mail. This happened once before just can't remember what I did to resolve it.

Have you tried basic troubleshooting steps from the manual?

Syncing email, contacts and calendars

Feeling a little overwhelmed with my problem as a recent Mac convert. Have tried to do research on this issue but have had no luck finding a solution that works for me. Not entirely sure this question is in the right category but here goes:
I have a personal gmail account and a home-business email through a domain. I am running MS Outlook 2011 on my Mac Book Air and using a Blackberry Bold 9900.
I want my Outlook and Bold to sync with my emails, contacts and calendars seemlessly. They are not. I have had nothing but problems with contacts that are entered in my BB then don't show up in Outlook. Or calendar invitations that are quadrupled in my BB because I added it to Outlook.
Does anyone have an elegant solution so that everything syncs between everything without dropping items or duplication?

Funny (not ha ha)....I've been working a similar situation for a few years now. I'm an IT guy, and my goal years ago was to sync my calendar and contacts with EVERY device I have (work outlook, home outlook (on 3 different systems) and whatever phone I've got). Apple had a GREAT answer.... their MobileMe solution. Was supposed to be great - a single place to sync everything together, BUT it didn't work right. So much that I ran from it when it would refuse to change things on just about any device. It would actually put all my contacts back if I attempted to delete them all. weird....finally dumped it.
So....round 2.
I started using my work Outlook (exchange) as my 'master', changing that, and letting all other devices be slave.
This worked for awhile, but got taxing to try and update from a single source. I would archive my data on a regular basis ' just in case'.
Anyway....after multiple device changes, etc. Here's where I'm at today - and working VERY well:
I sync all my devices with my work Outlook (Exchange). <---- key in this effort.
All my devices Outlook (exchange) at work, Outlook at home Windows (XP or 7 desktop), Windows laptop, MacBook Air (running SL, and now Lion), iPod touch, iPad, HP Touchpad and an iPhone. (I was Windows phone before and no difference). I've used 3 different windows phones, and now 3 different iphones. I can change data anywhere, on any device, and everything updates within a couple of minutes, since everydevice syncs with the master, the master updates and sends out to all other devices.
Now, for Blackberry, that would depend on if you sync wirelessly through a BES Server. If you do, again, everything would be the same and wirelessly sync everywhere.
If you sync using the desktop manager - makes it tougher, but still should work fine - it's just there is a time/entry delay because you can only change data you change on your BB with the rest of the network when you sync manually via cable (not the best solution). I did that for a few years, before smartphones hit the market. I used to used a Palm, or HP iPaq and would sync wired. What a pain.
This new solution has worked for me for a few years...very happy, and the end device shouldn't matter.
I'd like to hear more detail on what exactly isn't working.

While sync with Link should work it is buggy and is an afterthought to the whole BB10 system. I recommend using an Outlook.com account, installing the Hotmail connector in Outlook, and then syncing the Outlook.com contacts and calendar to the BB10 device. I say Outlook.com because it uses Exchange Active Sync which is the most reliable sync to the device.
I used to sync with Link as well but the Outlook.com wireless sync really is far better.
As for the original question I don't know why it's not recognized. i see this reported on the forums all the time.

Mail App and Mail, Contacts and Calendar Settings Crashing

After upgrading to 2.1 on 3G...
I posted a response to a post for Mail settings problem here http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1708101&tstart=0 but noticed that after restarting my phone now the Mail application crashes and in some cases the Contacts app if open more than 10 seconds.
I've noticed a few posts and possible fixes on the forums like updating the Region but none of those solutions worked for me. I'm hoping an Apple "Genius" would read this and offer a fix!

I'm having a similar issue;
I go into Settings -> Email, contacts, etc.
Then i scroll to almost the very bottom. I see the first two items of "Calendar settings", but if I scroll further settings crash and I'm shoved back to the homescreen. EXTREMELY frustrating since I'm in sweden and the time zone is london I think - all my meetings are pushed 1 hour ahead.

How can I sync email, contacts and calendar between computers and phones without a mobileme account?

I recently added a macbook pro, ipad and imac to my work accounts and I'd like to be able to sync all of them together. I believe the POP server that my company is using (small start-up) does not support this. Basically, if I read email on the laptop, it does not show as read on the imac or my iphone. If I send a message from one, it does not show up on the other devices.
I figure there has to be a solution - it's driving me crazy basically having email in 3 different locations and none of it matches.
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

I have found that syncing my contacts then un-syncing them results in my current contacts retaining all the info and picture from Facebook. I just don't have the Facebook updates, which I'm happier about anyway.

No email, contact, or Calendar after 2.1 update

Dammit! I can't get my Pop 3 OR ActiveSync Outlook, Calendars or Contacts. Has anyone else had this problem after update? I am on eternal hold now with support, so thought I would post this in the meantime. I did notice in iTunes my "Sync Mail Account" to Outlook was unchecked. I rechecked and resynced and still no mail, contacts or calendar from server.

I could not get my mail from exchange after the update as well. I am concerned we are getting windows type answers with the iphone -- restart and wait for 5 mins -- or turn a feature off and on. This was the reason I moved away from the windows mobile phones and PCs.
In any case, I am told that there still may be an index re-build issue with the outlook email index. So to get your mail back, go to your exchange settings on the iphone and set the "Mail days to sync" to no limit.
Then go back to your mail contacts and calendar settings section and scroll to the bottom and set your calendar sync to all events.
I think this rebuilds the index and you can then get your mail back. As it starts downloading, you can go and revert these settings to the ones you want (aka 1 month etc) and once the index is built the mail appears. At least it did for me.
Don't forget to hold you breath and twirl around 3 times after the index is built -- good luck -- just kiddin...

I am in need of contact and calendar applications -- I am on my 3rd torch (9810) and it was discovered that my contacts and calendar files are corrupted -- I have wasted hundreds of hours with technical support until this issue was finally isolated. I do not have Microsoft Outlook. The article link does not lead anywhere (I tried it).
Can you please re-post supported applications for synchronization with BlackBerry Desktop Software? (and presumably the Torch 9810 as well)...

Looking at the website for the Desktop Manager the only supported apps to sync your calendar and contacts are:
Windows
- MS Outlook
- Lotus Notes
- Yahoo
- Windows Calendar
Mac
- default Mac contacts and calendar apps
- Entourage

IOS6 upgrade - lost contacts and calendar

Hadn't yet upgraded my iMac OS becasue of the likelihood of this sort of problem. Upgraded my iPhone to iOS6 and now I have no contacts or calendar. I use Outlook as default on my iMac, and all contacts and calendar info is still there (thank God - I use this for my business!) I still have texts (which only show phone numbers, not names!) and emails.
For a similar problem some time back, Apple suggested clearing the iSync log which worked a treat - not this time! I do not have iCloud enabled (yet) except to find my iPhone. I have iTunes 10.7 and my iMac OS is 10.6.8. I have tried adding my iPhone as a device in iSync, but get the message to say it cannot communicate with my iPhone. I suspect the basic problem is that Outlook is no longer syncing with Address Book and iCal - all the info was duplicated there before - no longer!
Any help/suggestions gratefully received...right now, I need this info on my iPhone, but don't have the time to upgrade my iMac OS. When I do that, I also plan to change from Outlook as my default email/calendar/addressbook and use Mail, iCal and Address Book instead.

This is just an educated guess, but I think most if not all problems are related to data not synced with another service like Google or corporate mail. Data manually entered, and stored in the PlayBook only is lost. Even though this should not happen. Can someone verify this theory?

HT1692 Have recently installed itunes and outlook on a new computer. Have multiple email accounts set up in Outlook tho only use contacts and calendar in relation to one of these. Cannot sync itunes with the correct contacts and calendars, Help!

My phone is a 4S runing iOS 6.1.3
Very frustrated now that I have recently installed itunes and outlook on this new computer. Everything worked perfectly ok on my laptop which was also 64-bit Windows 7 and running 32-bit Microsoft Office 2010 Pro. I have multiple email accounts set up in Outlook tho only use contacts and calendar in relation to one of these. Cannot sync itunes with the correct contacts and calendars, when I sync the calendar and contacts are empty. Not sure if there is any way to point itunes to particular address books and calendars.
I have installed and uninstalled itunes 3 times and thank goodness have a backup

I had my home computer set up to sync to work's Exchange server. It worked well, but I didn't like seeing work email messages and other programs trying to sync with my default Outlook folder, which was then the Exchange (& work related) .ost file. I know there are various ways to manage those problems using filters, view, subfolders, etc., but it was a hassle for me. I think it could work well for many other folks.
For now, I have published my work calendar and subscribed to that calendar on my home computer. So I have view only access to my calendar on my home computer (and I can add/edit calendar items on my iPad (or Outlook Web Access) when away from work). This is not quite what I wanted, but it may work.
It almost makes me long for the days when I used my Windows Mobile Treo to sync back and forth between exchange at work and outlook at home (but had many sync conflicts as a result).

Also it shows that I am over capacity on my Capacity ruler but how do I unload some of that stuff so that I can increase my capacity and perhaps get this synching to work again.
So frustrating!!

On your iPhone go to settings>general>about and next to "Available" if you dont have much space then you will need to delete stuff on the phone to make room to take photos by deleting stuff on the phone.
In terms of syncing change what you are syncing and decide what you would really want and not want on your phone which would make what is syncing to the phone smaller.

How to get them back in Outlook? Understand iCloud erased them and transferred them in an other outlook account. In Outlook 2007, I can see a folder called "iCloud" but get an error message ("The set of folders cannot be opened...") when clicking on it. I suspect all is there, but no access possible. I assume some Outlook settings are uncorrect, but wonder which settings...?

Well. Working just fine now, since uninstalling and re-installing icloud and syncing.

Recover lost contacts and calendar from iPad

Hi All.
My dad has an iPad 1 which he uses for work, in particular the contacts and calendar. Earlier this week he said he switched it on and it was as if the iPad had lost all its settings. There was no WiFi to home router and all his contacts and calendar were missing. He re-setup the WiFi but cannot get his missing contacts and calendar back. He had made some major changes and additions since his last sync with the pc and Outlook so a re-sync will not be good enough. Looking around online, others have had the same problem and some people say that the data is still there. There is also mention of a programme called Dr Fone which apparantly scan the iPad and can recover this data. Has anyone tried this or can anyone suggest another way of getting this data back? Its really important.

Settings>Emails, Contacts, Calendar>iCloud Account. Is Contacts and Calendar ON?
Check also in Contacts and Calendar apps if you have "Groups" or "Calendars" buttons. (Up left). If yes, tap on it and check inside.
