Default email is wrong..

can anyone tell me why when i am using an application that finds my email and opens it for sending say a picture or a file i have compressed to send does it always find my windows live or google mail instead of my bt yahoo one..thanks... i hope this is the place to put this...

I don't believe the programs are capable of picking up a web address .  I might be wrong.
The only way to send that is once you have edited /compressed the file save it somewhere on you PC, then open webmail and import it/attach to your message

  • Apple Mail is using Wrong default Email

Apple Mail is now displaying the wrong default email address in my inbox and I have my correct business email selected as my default.  I can't figure out how to correct it or why it is happening.  For example the mail in this inbox is sent to my petersonsales.net email, but it is displaying as if sent to an alternate address used for ministry:
It appears my ID is set to my company, and I'm not sure I did this either... just things are a little wonky with Yosemite...

I don't think you understand...  The outgoing servers are set correctly, and even the ID appears correct when you click on the incoming mail name, but it is appearing as a different email address in the list TO field.  See attached

File, Send link doesn’t open a new email. Running Firefox 11.0. Outlook 2010 is the Mailto default and the W7 default email program. On the About:config page, network.protocol-handler.external.mailto is set to regular font (not bold) “default Boolean true”.

I assume you have tried toggling the setting in Firefox between Outlook and, say, Gmail:
orange Firefox button ''or'' classic Tools menu > Options > Applications
In the search box, type or paste '''mailto''' and pause for the list to filter.
Change the setting and OK to save it, then return to the dialog, change back, and OK again.
You also might want to toggle the setting at the OS level between Microsoft Outlook and the native Windows Mail client in a similar fashion. In Windows XP you could use IE's Options dialog, Programs tab, for this, but I'm not sure in Windows 7.
Since one possibility is a problem in your Firefox settings (including the possibility of interfering add-ons), and another is a problem at the Windows level (e.g., Registry settings), it would be useful to try to identify which one it is. One quick way to distinguish is to create a new Firefox profile. It will start up with all factory settings. You can switch back to your existing profile after testing.
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
After closing Firefox, start up again in the Profile Manager as described in this article: [http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles Managing profiles].
With the new profile, can Firefox successfully create a message in Outlook?

  • Adobe Shared Review Doesn't Recognize Outlook 2010 as Default Email Program

We just received new laptops from our company with Windows 7 on them and Acrobat 9.4.0. Previously, we were using Windows XP with Acrobat 8.3.2 and didn't have the following issue.
When I begin a shared review and get to the Add Email dialog, I click To: and Acrobat pops up an error that Outlook is not the default email program. Fact is, though, it is the default email program. I checked under Default Programs and made sure Microsoft Outlook was set.
Needless to say, this completely prohibits us from using Shared Review. There is no way around this that I can see (I tried just typing in email addresses but then it tells me it can't send it because I don't have an email client).
Outlook opens fine via email links from my browsers (IE and FF), other documents, etc. The IE default email is set to Outlook as well (not sure that makes a difference).
My fear is that this is a result of Windows 7 'not being fully supported by Adobe until an undisclosed release'. Please tell me I am wrong and there is a setting I am missing.
I am inserting an image of the error.

  • BI Publisher Default Email Server

    Hello,
I added an Email Server to BI Publisher so I can schedule and email reports. Because there is only one server, this acts as the default email server. Is there any way to delete this server? The Delete button is disabled because of this being the default server.
    Thanks

Simple Answer.. You are in the WRONG forum.. Try this one: BI Publisher

  • Open Default Email Editor with attachment

How I open default email editor with attachment. Now I can just open the email editor with mailto, subject, body BUT i cant open it with a attachment, which is in a server.

es5f2000 wrote:If you can use 1.6, Desktop.mail() will at least open the mail application, though it won't let you auto-attach. If you must use 1.5, you may have to hand-roll a solution for each environment you support. I'm not personally aware of any 1.5-compliant library that provides this functionality.Since youve replied, the 1.6 solution of opening an email but without an attachment is not good much use to me, and the creation of various support files and putting them into an attachment is the part of the process that the user has most problems with. So either I could either just create the attachment somewhere and let the customer handle the whole email side of things OR I could make use of the fact that my customers email address is embedded in their license and that an smtp server can be used to send an email from anyone, to open a form for the user to write a problem description and then send it from within my application, but the trouble with this approach is they can't have full control over the email they send.

  • Thunderbird doesn't work as default email client when sharing pdf attachments. Works fine if Mail is the default client

With Tbird set as the default email client, whenever I try to email the pdf, a message pops up that the default client can't handle sending the attachment. It works all the time if the native Mac Mail software is the default client..
This forces me to save the pdf file, go to Tbird to send a message and then have to find the file in the folder structure to add as an attachment.

My PDF software is Adobe Acrobat. So what is wrong with your Thunderbird software I must ask!

  • User's default email address for use with Answers

How to use user's default email address for use with Answers?
When I was referring to the Admin Guide I found the below description for email session variable.
Can somebody please help me with this.
Contains the user's default email address for use with Answers. If the delivery option of Answers is enabled, an email device using this address will be created for the user upon first log in. Users can override this address by changing their account settings in Oracle BI Presentation Services.
    Thanks,
    Swetha

I think the documentation is wrongly saying that it will be used by Answers. The email will be used by Delivers, the BI Scheduler component.

  • Email shows wrong Sent From account

No matter what I do, the default email "return" address won't show my main account, but only the one that is "second in line".
How do I permantly set the default return address?
Having to do each one manually is a pain in the butt.
It has worked fine until just recently, then it was occasional, now every single one shows the wrong account.
    What's up, I didn't change anything.....
    eMac   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

Is there a way to add this automatically?
For a semi-permanent change, the Sending Server is named as "OutGoing Mail Server SMTP" on the Preference pane for each Mail Account.
To change its specifics, move the mouse cursor over it and choose "Edit SMTP Server List" from the drop-down Menu. Then choose the SMTP Server you wish to inspect/change and its information will be shown. If using similar ones for two different email accounts, change the description field, e.g., change "gmail" to "gmail (work)".

  • Why does nokia email only activate default email o...

The title said it all, but I've been trying to set up the nokia email on my n97  for 3 months now and it keeps activating the default email which goes to the messaging folder. I thought soft & hard resetting would solve it, but I was wrong. Anyone has experienced this and have fixed it?
    Cheers.

More than likely it has to do with what mail client and how the sender is formatting the mail. this is especially evident since it is only the one sender this is happening with. It is possible the iPhone screen size is having trouble translating the way the mail is formatted. Each mail client can send the data in a different way. Do you have any of the zoom, or font increases in Accessibility set on the phone, but are not set on the iPad?

  • Default email incorrect

A letter is missing from my default email address.  The BT desktop help acknowledges there's a fault, so tests it but uses the correct email and it therefore decides there's nothing wrong. How can I correct this?
    Solved!

All you need to do is to change the account details within Windows mail. I am not familiar with that program, but there must be an option under "account settings".
Perhaps someone on this forum who uses Windows Mail can help you?

  • Help! I can email when I am in my gmail web world, but cannot get my gmail default email to work.   I have recently disabled my exchange email - and did select gmail as my default.  When I try and use the mail icon, my email doesn't work.  HELP!

How can I get my default email to work on my iPad?  Gmail in my browser is fine, but I can't send anything if I am not in gmail.  Why is my mail icon not working?

You probably messed up the password/ server set up.  Delete the account from the pad, and re enter it.  Pay real close attention to the password entry. Upper lower case etc.   if they ask you for an optional name a second time, fill it in.  G mail works fine on mine.
