Default file type for photosmart 7525

I am trying to find the default file type that is saved to a USB drive when scanning on the HP Photosmart 7525.  This is not my printer, I am just trying to help my sister who lives in another city and is not computer literate.  She scanned some pictures (or so she said, after I sent her the instructions from the manual after I downloaded it) to a memory card.  She is not sure what she is looking at from what she is telling me, it appears as the pictures were all saved to one PDF document. Does any one know if PDF is the default file type that scans are saved to on a memory card?  I cannot find the default file type mentioned in the manual.
Thanks
David

Hi,
You can check from its software on your computer. For documents it's pdf and for photos it's jpg. But you have to select first.
Regards.

  • Can I change the default 'File Type' for PL/SQL Source File to '*.prc' ?

Want to change the 'default' extension for PL/SQL source to '*.prc'
When navigating 'File' / 'Save As', and selecting the 'File Type' list box,
The default 'File Type' for PL/SQL Source File is '*.pls'.
Can I change the default 'File Type' for PL/SQL Source File to '*.prc' ?
I have followed , 'Tools', 'Preferences' , 'File Types' and added '.prc' as 'Sql Script' file type, because (PL/SQL Source) is not present in the list.

You can certainly overwrite the 'Save As' extension as you are saving the file. I have added an ER for more control over this functionality.

How can I change propperty: Default File Type for New Forms?
It is enabled! Do I have to be Administrator to change it? I have SAP ALL..

There is no authorisation required for changing the file type. You are saying its enabled, then you can change it.

  • Suppress the Default File Types dialogue, Office 2013 C2R

    Hi.
We are doing a rather large Office 365 Proplus deployment using click-to-run via SCCM. We have the relevant group policys configured for the most part but we can't figure out how to get rid of the Default File Types dialogue box that pops up during the first
run of any of the Office applications. It asks the user if he/she wants to use Office XML or OpenOffice document formats.
When using the MSI-version and a custom install the administrator can answer this before creating the deployment package, but this is obviously not possible using C2R.
We have tried to set HKEY_USERS\<user_SID>\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\General
/v ShownFileFmtPrompt to 1, but it doesn't work. We have also set the default file type for each application but on first run, the dialogue box still shows.
How can we achieve a simple deployment from a user perspective? The picture below is the setting we want to configure.
    Best regards
    Joakim

Dito. This should have been solved when Office 2013 launched and there's still no official solution?

  • Office 2013 Suppress Default File Type Popup

    Hello,
during evaluation for Office 2013 we get this popup at the first start. We have configured the default file types for word, excel and powerpoint to .doc-File Format via GPO. Can we disable this Popup via GPO or the OCT-Wizard?
I have found some Posts to disable the Popup via registry, but we wouldn´t like to set entrys for this popup in the registry, if its possiable to disable the popup via GPO or OCT.

Looks like this is a known issue that we have no way to suppress this dialog, even forced the default file type for Office applications, the box still appears.

  • Default file type?

    Hey there,
.Wav is my current default file type for session files, and while I'm sure I set it that way myself somewhere along the way, I've had difficulty retracing the menu steps to reset it to .mp3 for a session I use daily.  Even tried recreating the whole session to see if the option was available from scratch, but no dice. Advice?

Audition's internal file format is, to all intents and purposes, the same as a wav file. Although strictly speaking, the audio isn't a wav file until it's stored that way. The reason for using wav as a format is that it is uncompressed, and therefore of the highest quality you can get - limited only by the quality of your audio device. In fact Audition uses an extended form internally (a 32-bit floating point format), because it can be scaled without loss, which means that quality can even be preserved through massive amplitude changes whilst you're working on the file.
MP3, on the other hand, is a compressed format, and as such is only intended for distribution purposes, not for production or original recording (despite what quite a few portable recorder manufacturers seem to think...)
So if you open an MP3 file in Audition, the first thing that happens is that it's decoded back to a wav file, and that is what Audition plays. And if you wish to save this again as an MP3 file, then it will be re-encoded. And that, unfortunately is significant; every time you decode and re-encode an MP3 file, you lose even more quality, because the compression isn't lossless. This is the reason, in fact, why MP3 isn't a production format. With wav files, you lose nothing by working on them, storing them, and then working on them again, but that's never been true of MP3, and never will be. This applies to all compressed formats, incidentally - MP3 isn't singled out!

  • Change Cloaking Default File Types

    Hello,
I've looked everywhere, and I can't figure this one out. I
want to change the default file types for cloaking. Even better
would be to be able to add default directory names (It's
Dreamweaver--so I can dream, can't I?). Is there a way to edit the
list of default file types for cloaking? I can't figure out how to
    do it.
    Thanks!

Unless there's been a change in Lion, use the 'get info' selection by right-clicking on the file, and choose the alternative application from there.
Below the drop-down for the app selection, there's a button to change all files of that type to open with the chosen app.

  • Changing default open with for file type for all users

    hello
can I change the default app to open a specific file type for all users and not juist for my user?
i am admin for my mac mini.
    tnx
    gil

What applications are offered for open with depends on the application itself informing the system it can open certain files, plus your own custom selections for opening files. Evidently the alternate app you want to use does not claim to be able to open the files you are assigning it. If you have a plist editor and know how to use it you could edit the info.plist file inside the application itself to add the file type you want to the application's declaration of file types it will open. Then restart so the system will read that declaration. I think it would be far easier to simply launch the application and then drop a file you want it to open onto its icon in the Dock.

  • How do I reset the default file association for .bat files on Windows 8.1?

Windows 8.1 allows the user to change the file association for .bat files. I made the mistake of using this facility to change the default file association for .bat files to Notepad++. Now when I attempt to run a .bat file, the script for the .bat
comes up in Notepad++, instead of its being run as an executable file!  All my .bat files are now useless. I tried finding a way to change this back to the original executable setting, including deleting Notepad++ from my system, but nothing
    has worked.
There are discussions that I found on the Internet about this problem, and the solutions to which I was led have not worked either. Most of the solutions apply to Windows 7 or Vista, but not to Windows 8. There are a few solutions that purport to apply to Windows
8 and 8.1, but they do not work for me.
(Disconcertingly, some of the solutions presented for the problem that apply to Vista or Windows 7 and are dated as early as 2009, so this problem has apparently been around for some time, but Microsoft still keeps .bat files on the Control Panel facility that
enables the change to be made. I cannot see why, but there it remains.)
Can someone please help me change this file association back to the original setting for Windows 8.1? Remember, most if now all the links that address this issue are focused on Windows 7. I need an answer that has been tried and proven to apply to Windows 8.1.
    Nothing I have tried works.

    Hi,
For the issue, we can restore Default File Extension Type Associations through adding the registry entries.
    1. Download the .reg file from the following link.
    http://www.eightforums.com/attachments/tutorials/8025d1345781188-default-file-associations-restore-windows-8-bat.reg
Note: Microsoft provides third-party contact information to help you find technical support. This contact information may change without notice. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy of this third-party contact information.
    2. Save the .reg file to your desktop.
    3. Double click on the downloaded .reg file to Merge it.
    4. If prompted, click on Run, Yes (UAC), Yes, and OK to approve the merge.
    5. Sign out and in, or restart the computer to apply.
    6. If you are logged in as a standard user and this still does not help, then have the administrator also merge the needed .reg file for the listed file extension or protocol below while logged into their administrator account.
    Hope this helps.

  • How can I change the default "file type" in the open file dialog when using Firefox on certain web pages?

I work for a bankruptcy attorney. We use the Court's file upload to file our documents. When I am on the Court's site and I have to pick a file to upload, the "open file" dialog box pops up. In Firefox, the default "file type" is always "image" files. I need it to be "all files". How can I change this setting?

    Two observations.
First — "Tools-> ...." is specific to Acrobat X and XI. It did not exist prior to Acrobat X.
Second — Acrobat 9 Pro / Standard (nor earlier release) does not support viewing a PDF page containing a scanned image and performing a right-click  ... Save Image As.
The context menu provided by Acrobat 9 Pro with a right-click on a scanned image is:
The context menu, from a right-click with the TouchUp Object tool selected, for Acrobat 9 Pro is:

  • CS4 Set default file type when placing file

The File->Place dialog box has a default file type of 'Importable files.'  Is it possible to set the default to All files (or anything else)?  Making the change manually does not seem to stick.  I have the same general question regarding File->Open.  A search of the forums returned one hit (unanswered) in the Dreamweaver forum.
    Thank you.
    Dick Conrad

    Peter:
Good question.  One of our editors made this request, and I believe that he works with files that lack extensions.  But controlling the default would also let us go in the other direction: quickly see only .rtf or .txt files, for example.
Any trick would be impractical if it lived in InDesign Defaults.  All ID users get the same copy, and no two editors would want the same filter.
    Thanks for your response.

  • Will EC support setting default file type and Open With from file menu?

The default file types I can live without, but at least allow for Open With on right click from Windows Explorer.
I currently have EC set in the Open With programs list, but EC does not comply for any files I opt to open it with (.css, .php, .html etc).
EC open but not the file I choose.
Also, even though the above use case is not ideal when if I do attempt an Open With when EC is already open, a new application session starts instead of attempting to open in the currently active app frame. It would be ideal to allow for single app frame, multiple files when Open With is employed.
    Darrell

    Hey Darrell,
Thanks for the feedback. How Edge Code treats files is definitely something we know isn't ideal and it's something we're looking at fixing soon. There's currently a story on the Brackets backlog that adresses the Open With issue - https://trello.com/c/GhF1Bgf9
And it based on howit ranks in that priority it looks like we could potentially take that into Edge Code over the next couple of months.
This is definitely a feature that we think is important before we consider ourselves 1.0 so it's high priority.
