Default help action

While online help is good for extra content, I have in general not been happy with the changes in suite help functions in CS4. I much preferred the default action in cs3 where local help was accessed first then, if the user desired, to go online for more help there was a link at the bottom of the page. By it's nature local help is much faster and dependable.
Most of the time our workstations do not have Internet access. Some are never allowed online and are activated via phone. Sometimes the machines that are on an office intranet, CS help thinks it's online but can't get content so I get nothing. I hope in CSnext that some changes will go down.
1. Some help content should allways be installed locally with the package.
2. there will be a user option to change the default behavior of "help" so that LOCAL help is accessed first by default, regardless of the presents (real or perceived) of a Internet connection.
3. It's fine to update the LOCAL content with a "update" process like the application, but not to require updating while the user is trying to use help. that's not the right time to do this
Now for a more imediate FIX... Is there any way (like in the registry) to change the default behavior of help so that it defaults to LOCAL help first ??

well, I am talking about the default color buttons on the left hand side toward the botton but, the action says at the first to pick the color of your flower so I pick red and the action takes off... then a few steps in it would change to black and white and then back to red and white at the end but the flower came out all black. Okay I am tell you this because so if anyone else has this problem they will know.
This morning I got up and uninstalled my later version of Photoshop PSE6 that was still on my computer( after moving all shared files needed for new PS to my external HD) and deleted the action (drag to trash can ) then loaded the action again and it worked fine pretty little red flower! Now I hope it will remember my styles! I have had to reload them twice.

In one of the requirements, I tried importing the data to MDM system from a source XML. The map was already existing and I used the same to work out the import. The same is working fine in the other environment however Development shows some different behaviour.
I got following Default import actions after selecting the matching fields.
4 of 4 Single None Skip - Changed to Create
0 of 0 Single Exact Skip - Updated (All mapped values)
0 of 0 Multiple Exact Skip [I want to make this field as update(all mapped values). However I am only getting two options to be selectied here "Skip" & "Replace". how can I enable the other two options to be selected in Default import action and save the updated map]
I am currently on MDM7.1 SP05.
I tried verifying the field and value mapping, configuration options and it is same as in the othe systems in the environment.
Can someone help me resolve this asap?

you are right. My Dev and Preprod are in Sp5 and Prod is in SP3 at the moment.
However there's no need for me now to use replace since the intended functionality is met with the earlier two option.

Well I have the complete data being refreshed in everyday import so it is showing for me the multiple records with exact matching.

[BOXI 3.0] default viewing action on listing page

on the CMC in Applications - InfoView - Properties there is a setting called
default viewing action on listing page
the two options are
View the object
View the latest successful instance of the object
If you select the second of these two options then double clicking on a DeskI document that has not been scheduled will not open it!
Surely the latest instance should be the file itself if it has no instances?

That assumes all users are generally given On-Demand viewing and refresh rights, which in many deployments they're not.
For consistency the "Latest Successful Instance" means scheduled instances only.

I read in Oracle JDeveloper and Oracle ADF 11g Release 1 Patch Set 3 (11.1.1.4.0): New Features and Bug Fixes:
"Dialog Framework: Capability of disabling the default cancellation actions applied to the entire web application for full page task flows ran as inline popup dialogs."
I search the function in the current JDEVADF_11.1.1.4.0_GENERIC_101227.1736.5923 but I can't find it.
Can I define this in the taskflow? Or in the when I use the taskflow in another taskflow an define this as "run-as-dialog"?

How can I customise a default delete action

Dear's
In Apex, I have report with edit button. By cliking on edit I can see the edit window with a delete button. I want to restrict this with some checks .
The delete button should be displayed always.
I want to utilise the default delete action, I don't want to write a code for deletion.
On click , if the condition restrict , it should give message and should not delete that record.
Otherwise the record shoud be deletd.

Actually I wanted use a complex condition, I want to write a funtion returing some value. Based on that I want to show a message or I want to do the delete action. If i am putting some condition for the delete button, if false, the button will not be displayed. This should not happen.
What you mean by validation here, On which item or which action or where should I put the validation code in my senario.

I took the video from an email message, and sent it via sms/mms to a friend, since then it just appear in every new message I create, regardless of who it is going to. I thought maybe imessage got messed up so I turned it off and back on, still there.

I ended up resetting my phone by erasing all contents and settings. Not ideal, but I was getting pretty frustrated with it. Anyway, it worked. I hope Apple figures this out cause I don't want to have to reset again if this happens again. good luck.

How to save the modified rows in jspx page usind adf default commit action

We are displaying some columns of the database table in jspx page. Here we are using adf commit action to save these values to database which is updating all the rows by default. In this page there are some editable columns which the user can miodify. How can we update only these modified rows using default adf commit action. Also we want to update last_updated_date column of that particular row which is modified in the UI from backing bean .
Can anyone please help us in solving this.

A key question - what are you using for the model layer (ADF Business Components, JPA, EJB, etc)?
How are you determining that a "commit" action is updating rows (even those which haven't changed)?
If you are using ADF Business Components - have a read in the documentation about history columns - the use case you describe (updating the last_udpdated_date column) is supported "out-of-the-box" for this.

Making "Go to a Page View" the Default Link Action

Up until recently, it was quick and easy for me to add a "Go to a Page View" link to PDFs in Acrobat Pro. I highlighted the text I wanted to link, right-clicked on it, and then selected Create Link from the pop-up menu. At that point, the Create Link box would be displayed:

I would then scroll to the the page I wanted to link to, click Set Link, and then the process was complete. I don't know if I have inadvertently changed settings or if things are different in the most recent version of Acrobat Pro, but now I have to go through several more steps to do the same thing. Here's what I have to do now.
1. Highlight and right-click on the text. Select Create Link from the pop-up menu. The Create Link box is displayed.
2. Click Next. The Link Properties box is displayed.
3. Click OK. The Link Properties box is displayed. Click on the Actions tab.
4. Select Go to a Page View from the Select Action drop-down menu.
5. Click Add. The Create Go to View box is displayed.
6. Scroll to the appropriate page and click OK. The Link Properties box is displayed AGAIN.
7. Click OK, and FINALLY the process is over.
I've looked online for an answer but can't find anything. I'm guessing that I'm just missing something small but as of yet it eludes me. I've tried messing around with the Locked check boxes, thinking that they may lock the settings, but to no avail. Can anyone help me get back to the much shorter process?

What happens when you select the Add or Edit Link tool on the Content Editing pane in the Tools panel? When you use that tool, you can drag a box around the text that you want to link, and the Link Action options should appear in the first dialog box that pops-up. Then you can change the view to the appropriate page, and click Set Link.
That should simplify the process a bit.

Change Tiger default Folder Action to parse all files in folder?

I'd like to be able to use Automator and OSX Tigers Folder Actions to parse all files in a folder to an automator workflow, but it seems the default is that Folder Actions just pass the newest file added to a folder. Is it possible to modify the default applescript that says something like open_added to open_all? Sorry, not an applescripter so don't shout at me. What I'm trying to do is get automator to construct a variable URL from various txt files in a folder. I'm using the txt files as variables as Tigers Automator doesn't seem to be able to use variables or save and combine a result.

That is the way that folder actions work. You can edit the AppleScript wrapper that Automator makes for your folder action, though, since the folder action handler also returns an alias to the attached folder.
If you look in your user's *~/Library/Scripts/Folder Action Scripts* folder, the folder action script for your workflow looks something like this:

By changing the line open added_items to open {this_folder}, the script will pass the folder instead of the files, so you can then use that in your workflow (e.g. *Get Folder Contents*, etc).

Skip by default 0000 (Actions) from PA40 and shows any other like 0185.

As you know, in PA40, its run infotype 0000 bydefult before executing any other defined infotype. I would like to skip 0000 and want to run first 0185 then 0000 and after that any other infotype. This is because when by default pa40 call 0000 (action) its first create employee then execute other infotypes in a sequence. To display 0185 bydefault is to check first employee id either its exist in sap or not then proceed other infotypes.

So, here’s how I understand the steps I need to take:
Create 6 slides, one for each question. Create captions and other elements to frame the question. Create a Text Entry Box, one on each of the question slides, where the user will record their answer to each question.
Create a caption on the first question slide where the total score will be compiled. Display this object for the rest of the project. Type $$v_total$$ in the text of the caption.
Create one variable for each question.
Create an advanced action that adds all of the associated variables into the v_total variable.
Apply the advanced action to the appropriate quiz slides.
I was able to duplicate what you sent me, so I know that it works.
One follow-up question: If users want to retake the quiz, I need another action that will reset the v_total variable to zero, right? Where do I apply this advanced action?

Customize Infoview Default View Actions on 3.1?

Ok in the infoview application settings you can pick the default action as either "View the object" (View on Demand) or "View the latest successful instance of the object".
However my situation is that we want to only give our users "Schedule" and "View instances user owns" in order to prevent them from running on demand and to prevent them from viewing someone elses data.
With both of these limits in place you get an error message either saying you lack ability to refresh or that you don't have rights to view the last instance run.
Does anyone know a workaround or a way to change the infoview action to "Schedule"?

No luck yet. No answer from the case I opened with support either. We're probably just going to have to let users run on demand.

In general it's not a good idea to change scope in default.lgf using XDIM_MEMBERSET...
You have to work with members sent by input form.

You may create two user dependent infogroups and assign them to two different user groups.And based on user parameter settings, it will be allowed to user.
