Default IM application

I bought a brand new 1TB hard drive for my 15" MacBook Pro (Late 2008). I installed Lion with great success, and manually moved my files back over to my new hard drive. I did not perform a Time Machine restore, or a migration. My old system did have Adium on it at one point, but when I installed Lion on top of a fresh copy of Snow Leopard, and then performed an Erase and Install.
I have checked ~/Library/Application Support/ and ~/Library/Preferences, and have seen no file. I've also checked /Library/Preferences and /Library/Application Support with no results.
Why is that showing up as an option?

Sorry, that was my fault I was concentrating on the fact other Messaging app were not showing up.
The Mac version of Messages and the iMessages account should be able to send SMS once you have Yosemite and iOS 8.1 and set up Text Forwarding which links the two devices (In the iPhone > Messages Settings)
Alternatively if the Android Phone user is in the United States and is using one of these carriers then you can use an AIM/AOL account in Messages to send SMS Messages.
If you have an Apple ID that ends either with @mac.com @me.com or @icloud.com then this can be a Valid AIM screen name.
Use it to create an Account in Messages (use the Add Button then the AOL choice - it then gets listed as an AIM Account in the list)
Add the Phone Number like it was a Buddy's Screen Name.

How can I set Yahoo mail as my default mail application on Mac Mail?

I am trying to make Yahoo Mail (free version, not Yahoo mail Plus!) my default mail application. This would allow me to cick on any link sending e-mails and it will launch the yahoo mail application to send mail from there, obviously. For this to happen I need to open Mac "Mail > Preferences >" and choose "Default email reader" under the "General". I then choose the email application of my choice (Yahoo in my case). "GMail Notifier" for Google fans.
I am not able to find a Yahoo application mail in my application folder or on the Internet, and frankly speaking, Yahoo mail support absolutely suck, and getting a hold of them is nearly impossible! There is a free applet out there called "Yahoomailer" that might do the job, but either I am installing it wrong since when I download and click on it nothing happens, or it does not work properly on my machine. So, I am turning to the community to get some help with this issue. All I need is to know if there is a Yahoo mail app out there that can be installed on MAC and shows up on my Mail > Preferences > Default email reader.

Get Rid of 'Would You Like to make iCal Your default calendar application'

Since installing the Plaxo 'helper' / Pref Pane - I now get the following message every time I launch iCal (and Address Book) ...
'Would you like to make iCal your default calendar application?'
Even when selecting 'Make Default' it still asks the next time. Is there a setting in com.apple.ical.plist (or similar) that controls this that I can look at, or is there a terminal command to try setting this another way?
I'm bothered a) why I get this at all - suspect Plaxo b) why I can't just set this the once. Any help gratefully received.
If it is Plaxo monitoring and then setting/changing a flag on the fly it's soon going to be heading for the trash....

OK, here I am answering my own question... It turns out there's another Discussion which has the following solution:
I had the same message pop-up. I quite iCal and then went to ~/Library/Preferences and trashed the apple.ical preference [plist]. After that, I re-launched iCal and checked the box in the message box and it took that time.
I tried this... we'll see if it works for me.

FIRST TIME RUNNING THE DEFAULT BSP APPLICATION IN ABAP

I am running the bsp application for the first time by taking the t-code se80 into consideration and executing the default bsp application given there.But I am getting the error   The URL http://nwrbcs:8000/sap/public/bsp/sap/system/login.htm was not called due to an error.The error is common as to all RABAX_STATE and in addressbar the address displayed is

In RZ10 I added the parameter icm\host_name_full (as I am using workgroup instead of domain in my system) for instance profile.In t-code SCICM status is running.

you need to configure the FQDN. That is causing the issue in your case.
the URL shd start something like abc.mycompany.com:port_number...

Precompilation of JSPs for default web application

Hello,
Once in a while I need to redeploy my "Default" web application. I would like to have its all JSPs precompiled, so that it was immediatly available after redeployment.
However, if I try to redeploy my web application (.war file) under, let's say, "DefaultWebApp" root context, using the administration console, with the "Precompile JSPs" option enabled, it does compile all JSPs, but ONLY those deployed under the "DefaultWebApp" root context.
However, If I access a url like "http://somehost/SomeResource.jsp" (a file that belongs to that default web application"), I can see (due to a pause) that my JSPs have not been compiled under the root context.
Is there any way to precompile JSPs for my default web applications?

Office documents does not open in the default office application from Search Results

1 WFE + 1 App Server + 1 server for OWA + 1 separate DB server make up our DEV SharePoint 2013 environment. We migrated many web applications from our SP 2010 environment to SP 2013 environment. Client integration is enabled and "Open
Documents in Client Applications by Default" feature is enabled at the site collection level. OWA is enabled and working on the search results, such as showing preview.
From the document libraries, if I open office documents like word, excel and PowerPoint, they open in the respective office applications. However, from the search results, when I try to open by clicking on the result, it opens on the browser. I want
OWA to show document preview but still want to open the document in the default office application. How to overcome this?
I have IE 8.

Go to the bottom of the Search page, you will see a Preferences link:
From there, you can set your preference. This is a per-user setting and as far as I'm aware, cannot be set globally.

How to disable pop up Make Adobe Reader my default PDF Application in registry

Hi
I am wondering if there is a registry setting that can disable the pop-up Make Adobe Reader my default PDF Application ?
I have seen there is a setting under Edit\Preferences\General\"Tell me if Adobe Reader is not my default PDF Application" but cannot find a registry setting to disable this. This message pops up for some users in a remote desktop session host environment even though I have disabled the messages on the session hosts.

Thank You for posting on the forums. Kindly try the below mentioned steps and check ,if it helps.
1) launch adobe Reader
2) Click on Edit>Preferences
3)Go to General under Categories
4) Click on "Select Default Pdf Handler"
5) Choose adobe Reader
After performing this workflow, you might see an installation window. do not worry, it is just a new configuration of PDF handler being updated in the system.

Default Web Application - new bug in SP1?

Just rebuilding everything from scratch to test out SP1. Have noticed
that the admin console now always seems to report only "(none)" in the
Default Web Application drop-down, even if other web apps are deployed
to the server. Editing the config.xml directly detours the problem, in
that the default app can be set and used, but the admin console still
says "(none)".
Lots of other good things fixed in SP1 though!

What you can do if you may shutdown the server is to replace the
console.war from WLS6.0SP1 with that from WLS6.0, do the mods and put
the new back in place. If you may stop the server, this is I think the
easiest sollution.

Default Web Application is not visible in Weblogic Console

We are using Weblogic 5.1.0 SP7
          We moved our Application from the Implicitly Defined Default Web
          Application which is configurated by the
          weblogic properties to a Web Application. Because we don't want to
          change any URL in our Application, we
          decided to deploy it as Explicitly Defined Default Web Application.
          By this we recordniced that the weblogic.httpd.defaultWebApp property
          worked not that way descibed in the
          Weblogic Documentation. You have to write the path to the WebApp not the
          name!
          So we have the following Entry in the weblogic.properties:
          weblogic.httpd.defaultWebApp=i:/if_home2/web
          This works fine. The Server starts and serves the WebApp the way we
          expected. But wenn we start the Weblogic
          Console the WebApp ist not visible in the "myserver/HTTP/Servlet web
          applications" folder. This one is empty
          now! Previously the "General" Entry for the Implicitly Defined Default
          Web Application was shown here, which
          showed our Servlets and JSP's and their hit count and parameters.
          So there is no chance to monitor the Servlets and JSP's of the default
          Web Application.
          I tried to deploy our WebApp a secound time with
          weblogic.httpd.webApp.OurApp=i:/if_home2/web
          but this create a second independent WebApp. OurApp is shown in the
          Weblogic Console but it does not monitor
          the hits to the default WebApp. So this is not a solution!
          Any idea to make the default Web Application visible in the Weblogic

in my development environment i checked in site collection feature, it isn't available in site collection feature but still i am getting those web parts in web part gallery while adding it on page.
Also, in Production environment, feature is available in /templates/features folder after deployment, but not available in web part gallery while adding it on page.
I tried with uploading .webpart file which is available in /templates/features production environment as i mentioned, is running for one web part. Not for second web part and giving me security error.
As, uploading .webpart file is not feasible solution, please tell me how could i do that with .wsp file?
please tell me what could be another workaround.

Default acrobat xi pro send mail to default email application and remember my choice 2008R2 remote desktop server

I have 2008R2 Remote Desktop Servers with Adobe Acrobat XI pro. When a new user tries to send a pdf via email, it pops up a message "How would you like to send this email" they have to pick "Default email application (Microsoft Outlook) and Remember my choice. Then the next time they try to send an email, the get a warning "This email will be sent using "Default email application (Microsoft Outlook)". Click on 'Change Preferences' to change your default account settings. They have to Click Do not Show this message again, and then continue. (actually I have a couple of users that have to go through this process Every time they sign on to the remote desktop server),
I downloaded the group policy adm pack and I can not find any settings to default this for a user.
Is there any group policy settings or a registry entry I can make on the remote desktop server to default these settings?

Non-default system-application.xml file?

There's mention in the OC4J documentation regarding specifying a non-default system-application.xml file; however, I cannot find the string defining it in any of the OC4J files, nor in the documentation though I might have missed it in that.
I am attempting to have multiple instances run out of the same ORACLE_HOME, and I'd like to point the logs to separate places per instance. Every other one is pretty clear (defined in the customized server.xml), this one with its logging parameter I cannot find a method for keeping a separate log file per instance other than simply creating multiple oracle or at least j2ee homes. Short cut for keeping things consistent for many settings and deployments, though may not be feasible for a running environment.

You can modify the <log> tag in system-application.xml to rotate the system log file.
System application is a key internal component that is critical to OC4J startup, the system-application.xml file should not be modified except for the <jazn> and <log> tags.
You can modify the <jazn> tag as needed to specify changes to the security provider, the location of the OC4J security configuration file (system-jazn-data.xml), or both. For more information about <jazn> and the system-jazn-data.xml file, see the Oracle Containers for J2EE Security Guide.
There's no reference of system-application.xml in other config files.

How do I disable Numbers as the default spreadsheet application?

A couple of days ago I was opening a Microsoft Office Excel spreadsheet, as usual. Unexpectedly, the Numbers application launched without prompting, presented an introductory page (Welcome to Numbers etc.) then asked a question (which I unfortunately don't recall). I clicked on the button that seemed to lead me out of the program, but it did not. Instead, Numbers made itself the default spreadsheet application. I cannot find a way to "undefault" it. I know how to use "Open with" in the menu and can select xlsx of course, but when I try to download new spreadsheets they automatically download as Numbers spreadsheets. I don't want to disable the Numbers application completely, but I also don't want to learn a brand new application with all its ins and outs right now. I just want to get my work done in EXCEL!!!

In Finder, navigate to one of your Excel documents. Select the Excel document, but don't open it. Then choose File > Get Info from the Finder menu line.
In the Info pane, about half way down, in Open With:, select Excel and then click the Change All... button.

this is for recruitment to be exact i want it for transaction pb10 (initial entry of basic data)
I created my status in recruitment->applicant selection->applicant status
the status i created is ok and i am able to set an applicant to status E after initial entry in pba4
all i want is to do this by default in pb10
I hope this describes my requirements a little better
i´m not sure but can i do this in
spro->personnel mgmt->recruitment->applicant selection->applicant activities->applicant activities types->followup activities->create default values?

FM8 default structured application

I've just upgraded to FM8 from FM7.
Is there a method of setting the default application in Frame 8?
Because it appears that every time I open an XML file in Frame 8 I have to select the appropriate structured application, whereas in Frame 7 I did not have to do this. As the application was not recorded anywhere in the XML file I presume that a default application was saved somewhere in Frame 7's setup.
In theory I guess the DTD or schema declaration in the XML header could have been used to identify the structured application - but not in our case. An XSL transform - defined in the structapps file - needs to run to produce a version of the XML data which Frame can read, so the application has to be known before the stylesheet can be run.

There is no default XML application setting in frame (never has been to my knowledge).
When frame opens XML instance, the only thing it looks is the root element name. This is compared to DOCTYPE values in structapps file.
If only one application match is found, XML gets parsed (the public declarations in application are passed to xerces instead of normal catalog support) and fed to frame through corresponding rw-rules.
If more than one doctype matches, frame asks which application to use.
Nasty feature..especially in applications using same dtd/schema and needing multiple page sizes..frame keeps asking application all the time.
During XML write, the writer rule does the same thing..writing public identifier (and system, too), otherwise the external parser would not be able to resolve the dtd/schema location.

X6 setting default messaging application

I am a brand new X6 user, I am not event very familiar with Symbian S60 OS. I recently purchased the application known as ThreadedSMS because I like to see my text messages threaded as in conversation form. After I installed it, the original messaging application still pops up notifications in addition to ThreadedSMS. Also when I click on a contact and wish to send a text message, it uses the original messaging application instead of Threaded SMS.
Is there a way to set the OS's default messaging application to be Threaded SMS so that I don't get double the notifications of incoming text messages, and so when I try to send a text message via contacts it doesnt pull up the original SMS application.
Also, does anyone know a more finger friendly Contact Manager application (similar to iPhone ) ??

Hi, you can't change the default messaging app, and for managing contacts Ovi suite is the easiest way ! Sync at least once per week

creating a new session ? Or does this mean that weblogic has a bug ? Or does this
mean that I don't know what I'm doing ?

I checked this angle. They are able to see protected content.
However, bea has finally acknowledged the problem. It exists when you are using
multiple web applications with single sign-on.
The problem has supposedly been fixed in a rolling patch available for SP2 of
WebLogic 6.0. Three new methods have been added that provide the ability to log
users out.
