Default image viewer

how do i make fireworks my default image viewer?

It's probably better to remove the file type association in
QuickTime
(or QuickTime Pro(?)).
Try:
1 - start QuickTime
2 - Edit > Preferences > QuickTime Preferences >
File Types > expand
Images option in the tree structure > remove the tick next
to images as
you wish.
It seems an old version of QT?

  • Change default image viewer?

    How do you change the default image viewer (preview) to Adobe Photoshop?

    Click on the image and then do Command+I (Get Information). Where it says 'Open with Preview', change it in the drop-down menu to 'Photoshop' and underneath than click on the button 'Change All'. All images of that type will now open in Photoshop.

  • Default image viewer iPad

    Weird.  My third gen iPad using iOS 6 just started showing a different default image viewer when looking at pictures in emails.  In the past, I've not had any trouble with downloading images that were in emails. However just recently, I've noticed that Team Viewer icons were in the picture downloads and images take forever to coe up.  I removed Team Viewer, hoping the iPad would default to what it was originally.   Instead, it now it seems to default to Evernote as the image viewer.  What gives?  Can I now actually specify a default image viewer? Whatever happened to the default one my iPad was using in the beginning (native to iOS)?

    Never mind.  Freaked out because images in the email were not photos so they defaulted to some other app on the ipad for viewing.  Never saw that before. Photos download and display right away in the preview as they should.

  • Default image viewer and iTunes Plist

    is there a way I could change my default image viewer for every image in my computer? "preview" does not alow animated gifs or even moving between pics like the windows (just opening one and moving with the keyboard arrows to see all).
    I downloaded a program called "ViewIt" it alow what I want to do but I just cant find the way to set it as the default image viewer.
    Also Im thinking about reinstaling Mac OS X again, since Ive gt alot of stuff that I dont want on my mac, but is there a way to save all my iTunes playlists?
    Thanks

    Hi hujaboy,
    For setting the default application, do the following:
    1. Click once on any file which you do not want opened with Preview.
    2. From the menubar select File->Get Info
    3. In the "Open with" section click on the drop down menu and select the application that you want to use. If it's not listed, select "other" and then navigate to the application.
    4. Click on the "Change All" button and confirm.
    That's it. Everytime you double click on that file type it will open in the Application of your choice.
    There are two ways to backup your iTunes and keep your playlists:
    Method 1.
    1. Fire up iTunes
    2. From the menubar select File->Backup to disk
    3. Ensure the "Back up entire iTunes library and playlists" is selected.
    4. Click on the "Backup" button.
    This method will allow you to backup your entire iTunes library on to either CD or DVD. You will be prompted to insert new blank media if/when required. To restore backed-up files, insert the first backup disc (if more than one was used), choose File->"Back Up to Disc," and then click Restore.
    Method 2.
    If you have an external hard disk, connect it to your Mac and do the following:
    1. Double click on your hd icon
    2. In the sidebar (left side of the window) click on Music
    3. Click and drag the iTunes folder to the external hard disk.
    That's it. To restore simply drag this folder from the external hard disk to it's original location.

  • How to make CS3 the default image viewer after reloading CS

    I had to reload my CS software and have not been able to use CS3 as the default vile viewer. Now CS is loaded when using the "open" and CS only appears in the "open with list". Obviously I would prefer all Photoshop programes (PS6, 7, etc) to be available, but will settle for the latest (CS3) to open my images. It would seem that because I reloaded CS the OS sees this as the default image\file viewer. Have not been able to find an answer in the forum replies or FAQ's.      Chow, Hydatus.

    John, Many thanks for the promp reply. By the way, do you know why PS CS3 wants to only open files in 32 bit.  I have probably changed a setting somewhere in preparation for new PC (Vista 64 bit) which I will be networking with 2 X windows XP PC's. CS opens these 8 bit jpgs ok but CS2 and CS3 tell me the docs arent 32 bit?   Looked at PS Image mode and 8/16/32/bit all there and 16bit normally ticked.  Sorry to be a pain, but you seem to be on the "Ball" with PS.!!

  • Default images zoom in Mountain Lion Preview - how to change

    Hi,
    I need to preview alot of images in my work. In previous system I would use Preview with zoom images to 100%. Now this option is gone in preferences. Since the images I preview are ewbsites designs, any other zoom then 100% is useless to me.
    I know that I can open an image, push Cmd+0, click on the green + dot, and then scroll up (because after zooming to 100% the image is centered on the screen). But I open images about 100 times a day - so to me that situation is Usability disaster.
    So my question is: is there a way I can set Preview default image viewing settings to:
    - pixel to pixel zoom (100%)
    - aligned to top
    - opened in window of maximum size on the screen
    I will go to church, kneel and pray for you, stranger sage...
    Cheers

    Dear wjosten,
    1) I have the same problem as Dergler: I can not set the availability status in Messages (ML, v7.0). The settings and also support documents tell that one should be able to set the status in the Menue bar, without mentioning that an active iCloud account in not sufficient.
    2) Also, the Access to "Edit status menue" (and default status messages) is only possible when the activity report tool is displayed in the lower-left corner of the Messages window. With ONLY an iCloud account active this tool is not displayed.
    You correctly tell that the activity report tool and also access to availability settings is possible when the Bonjour account is set to "Enable Bonjour instant messaging".
    HOWEVER:
    I do not want to become visible in my university network, I only want to use Messages (and iMessages on iOS) to communicate with other people that have iPads or iPhones. Are the availability settings not used over iCloud? Why then the setting "Use the same setting for all accounts"?
    Is this intended, or is it a bug??

  • Bridge,( Installed, Default .jpg viewer), doesn't open by default jpg files.

    I have Adobe Bridge installed and set as my default image viewer including .jpg's. It appears in programs list and as default image browser. I have some jpegs, however that a friend sent me that won't launch Bridge when selected. Their extensions are DSC###.jpg.
    When selected, Windows viewer is launched. When file association is promted, Bridge does not appear in the program list, even when a deeper search in the Adobe file is performed. The images appear and open properly IN Bridge, but not by default when their file is selected outside of Bridge. Bridge appears in file association for other .jpgs. There doesn't seem to be a file extension DSC listed ( I didn't think it would be).
    What Gives? (Win7 ultimate, Adobe CS5)
    TY in advance!

    Perhaps it is a matter of semantics.  Bridge is not a separate program, so it will not be listed as the default program to open image but listed as CS5 (don't have any of those programs on this laptop, and out of town).  It is strictly a browser so technically the images do not open within it.  You can view the image but to open it it will be in the parent program Photoshop or one of the other in a suite.
    Adobe is quite particular on images.  Some images just will not open in PS.  Then the best bet is to open in a program like Infanview and then use "save as" to save without imperfections.
    Quicktime is the default program to open many files in Bridge, and is necessary with certain file formats.
    If I am not getting to the heart of your issue I don't mean to dance around it, just not fully comprehend it.

  • Bridge as Image Viewer

    Is it possible to use Bridge as a general image viewer? Can I make it, in Windows-speak, the default image viewer for various types of image formats? If I cannot now, I would like to recommend this capability. Often now I find myself needing to view one or two images, quickly, but lack a viewer which (gulp, quickly) displays Zip compressed TIFs for instance. If Bridge is going to find a place on my application tray, I'd like it to do some general duty lifting. Thanks

    Why not just start the bridge as a seperate program whenever you are browsing files? I do this from my mac. I have added the program to my dock for quick access and whenever I am browsing for images of any sort, I start it up (most of the time, I just keep it open).
    The Bridge has Slideshow capabilities (which I discovered many people are completely unaware of). Just press Ctrl+L or Command+L. The controls can be a little tricky, but overall, once you have them down, this is a very powerful tool. I know for me, this beautiful new feature has made things so much easier around here....client comes in and is photographed, we watch back the show and rank images as it goes along and then I use the filtering options in the Bridge to show them the images they liked and then we go from there. I no longer use any other applications for image viewing or automation of any kind. With the Bridge, the reasons for doing so are simply mute.

  • Changing default picture viewer via GPO without changing image type and icon (Windows 7)

    Hello,
    I am trying to change the default picture viewer for some file extensions (.bmp, .jpeg, .png and .tiff). Actually Windows Photo Viewer is the default viewer and we need to replace it with Microsoft Office Picture Manager.
    I managed to do that change via GPO using the 'open with' preference under User Configuration\ Preferences\Control Panel Settings\Folder Options. So now the files are opened with Microsoft Office Picture Manager (office 2010). The problem is that the image
    type became 'OIS.EXE' for all the specified file extensions. Moreover the icon is now the same (Microsoft Office 2010).
    When I change manually the associated program for a file extension, the icon change but no the image type... this is different using GPO.
    Is there a solution in order to change the default program but keeping the image type and associated icon ?
    I tried to do that modification using the 'new file type' preference under Computer Configuration\Preferences\Control Panel Settings\Folder Options. I specified the 'open' action for OIS.exe, selected file extension BMP with associated class 'Bitmap Image'.
    It solves the problem for image type, Microsoft Office Picture Manager opens the files ... but I have to specify the icon file path and icon index and I don't know where I can find the default icons for the file extensions ...
    What is the best solution ? Am I right ? Am I doing something wrong ?
    Thank you in advance !

    Hello,
    thank you very much for your answers.
    For the rollback, I will reimport the original/default keys for all the image types, this should be ok.
    Here are the problems I have trying to pu Microsoft Office Picture Manager as default picture viewer (I just want  .bmp, .jpg ... files to be opened with Microsoft Office Picture Manager by default).
    1 Using new file type under Computer Configuration\Preferences\Control Panel Settings\folder options. : I define a new file type (BMP for example), associated class Bitmap Image, I configure the icon (imageres.dll,65) and an open action where OIS.EXE
    is the application used to perform the action.
    Result : Icon is correct, file type is correct, image files are opened with OIS.EXE (correct) ... BUT now Microsoft Office 2010 appears twice in open or open with menu
    2 Using new open with under User configuration\Preferences\Control Panel Settings\Folder Options : new open with preference, action (update or replace same result), file extension BMP, associated program (path to OIS.EXE), i check set as default.
    Result : Office 2010 opens image files (correct) but icon is Office 2010 one and the file type is now 'OIS.EXE' for all image file extensions I have specified ... so it won't be possible to sort the file by image type if I select that method...
    3 Using ftype : OIS.EXE doesn't open the file when I double click on it but Microsoft Office 2010 appears twice in the open or open with list ...
    I am a bit lost ... what is the best method to put Microsoft Office Picture Manager as default picture viewer, keeping the image type (Bitmap image, JPEG image etc) and without having Microsoft Office 2010 twice in the open or open with list ??
    Last question : by default an image file is opened and previewed with Windows Photo viewer and edited with Paint. I would like just to open images with Office 2010 but keep Windows Photo viewer for preview and Paint for edit ... Is it possible ??
    Thank you in advance for any help and support !!

  • Dynamic image showing default image instead of requested image

    I'm using CR4E v2.0 to incorporate reports into my application which is built into an ear file and deployed with Jboss 4.2.2 at the moment. I have an image in my report that I am trying to set dynamically from a URL in a database,  but when the report is run only the default image shows up. The URL in the database for the logo is http://localhost:8087/module_Reporting/Logo.gif and I verified that exact string is being returned to the report, but the image is not changing from the default placeholder.
    The formula for the graphic location is:
    HdrPictureLogoClient : Graphic Location
    // Return values: Any string value.
    If Not IsNull({REPORT_PARAMETER_FACT.LOGO_URL_PATH})
    Then {REPORT_PARAMETER_FACT.LOGO_URL_PATH}
    Else "";
    I'm using a com.crystaldecisions.report.web.viewer.CrystalReportViewer in my jsp page to display the report and this is the part of the page that handles the viewer
    CrystalReportViewer crystalReportPageViewer = new CrystalReportViewer();
    // If the report is not saved in the session you just keep getting prompted for parameters
    Object reportSource = session.getAttribute("ReportSource");
    if (reportSource == null)
         reportSource = clientDoc.getReportSource();
         session.setAttribute("ReportSource", reportSource);
    //     set the reportsource property of the viewer
    crystalReportPageViewer.setReportSource(reportSource);
    // setting the optoins in the Crystal Report toolbar
    crystalReportPageViewer.setDisplayGroupTree(false);
    crystalReportPageViewer.setHasToggleGroupTreeButton(false);
    crystalReportPageViewer.setHasSearchButton(false);
    crystalReportPageViewer.setHasRefreshButton(false);
    crystalReportPageViewer.processHttpRequest(request, response, application, null);
    The viewer is contained in an iFrame and is disposed of in the containing jsp.
    Am I missing something? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you very much for your reply, but I am not trying to add an image into the report at run time, I am trying to change the source of the image. There is an image in the report as a place holder (called HdrPictureLogoClient) and the code that handles the source of the image is in the .rpt file also as this formula:
    HdrPictureLogoClient : Graphic Location
    // Return values: Any string value.
    If Not IsNull({REPORT_PARAMETER_FACT.LOGO_URL_PATH})
    Then {REPORT_PARAMETER_FACT.LOGO_URL_PATH}
    Else "";
    {/code}
    I have discovered that it works just fine with a file path name like C:\logo.png in the database but it does not work with my web URL.
    I just find it extra interesting because when the report was originally created in a Crystal Reports Project in myEclipse and deployed as an expanded war directly to jboss running in myEclipse it worked fine, but now that it is being incorporated into an EJB project which is built into an ear file that is deployed in a jboss service running outside of myEclipse it no longer works.

  • Acrobat Ignore "Set as default PDF Viewer" Setting

    Hello,
    I see from previous posts that this has been an issue for a while. I have an image that contains Adobe Reader. That image is deployed to all users. Some users get Acrobat Pro. also. So I went thru the whole customization tool and selelcted "Make Acrobat the default PDF viewer" and am using the Setup.ini and .MST file. Everything else works - skips EULA, reads serial number - everything but making Acrobat Pro the default PDF reader. After I install it and launch it for the first time I am presented with the "make Acrobat reader your default PDF viewer" question. How can I set this once and for all and not prompt every single user?

    Unfortunately there is no option post installation with Acrobat 8 to change PDF ownership. However this is possbile Acrobat 10 onwards. But yYou can choose to make Reader XI the default PDF handler during installation itself.
    1. Go to Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs, select the entry "Adobe Reader XI" and Un-install.
    2. Then visit link : http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/ and choose the Reader which you need.
    3. When you double click the EXE, then a screen will come showing extraction of files. As soon as extraction ends, installation will begin and you will be presented with following screen :
    4. Uncheck the checkbox which says "Make Adobe Reader my default PDF viewer"
    Acrobat 8 will remain default PDF viewer on your machine.

  • How can I reset the DEFAULT zoom view in Firefox at 125%, like IE, so I don't have to reset it every time ?

    How can I reset the DEFAULT zoom view in Firefox at 125%, like IE, so I don't have to reset it every time ?
    I have seen this question asked previously and it seems there is no answer.
    I know that one can change each individual web page (that reset defaults back to 100%) and, alternatively and apparently one can load an add-on to fix the default size at Full Zoom.
    ... But any hints on how to achieve a DEFAULT 125% zoom would be much appreciated.

    Press CTRL + 0
    Have you tried Firefox's zoom feature? Font size and zoom - increase the size of web pages
    You can "zoom" all sites using this add-on: [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2592/ NoSquint]. After setting your global zoom level, you can still fine-tune the zoom on individual sites.
    After installing NoSquint, click the % on the Add-on Bar to call up site preferences, then click the Global Settings button, then the Zooming tab.
    If you don't have the Add-on Bar displayed, you can right-click the new tab button ("+") or a blank area of the tab bar to the right of it and choose Add-on Bar from the shortcut menu.
    You can experiment with sizes larger than 125%, but I wouldn't go much higher than 150% unless you have a large high-resolution monitor.
    If there are particular sites that still present a problem, feel free to post their URLs.
    You can find more information about the zoom features Firefox offers in these articles:
    [[Text zoom]] - For zooming text only
    [[Page zoom]] - For zooming the whole page (including images etc.)

  • What exactly is the Default Image for?

    I have finished my first iPhone app and am planning to upload it soon to the app store. One of the many questions I have encountered is the Default Image, I know how to create it, just make a screenshot in Organiser, and then use the Save as Default Image option, but what is this? Is it a splashscreen? I have looked at a lot of the apps on my iPhone that I have downloaded over time but none of them seem to have anything I could recognise as a default image, usually they just open to the main screen.

    Hi Copernicium, and welcome to the Dev Forum!
    Yes, you can think of the Default image (usually Default.png) as a splash screen and you've probably been seeing that image in most of your downloaded apps without knowing it.
    The purpose of that image is to provide something other than a black screen when the app is loading. I.e. you don't bring it up with your code, the system looks for Default.png when the user touches your icon on the home page. If the file is found, the system displays that image until your app is up and running.
    You're free to use almost any image you want as the Default, but the guidelines recommend an image that transitions smoothly into your first screen, or better yet an image which is identical to the first image your code brings up. When you're unaware of the transition from the default image to the application launch, that generally means the developer has done a good job.
    The purpose of the +Save As Default Image...+ button in the Organizer is to make it easy to install your startup screen image as the Default. If your startup image is static it's easy. You just capture that screen, hit Save As Default and you're done. Note that if your screen capture includes the status bar, it will be masked by the real status bar when the Default image is displayed. So just two clicks in the organizer can produce and install a Default screen that's identical to the actual startup screen.
    If your startup image is dynamic (e.g. the "real" splash screen), but always begins with the same view, you just need to set a breakpoint in your code so you can capture that very first image.
    And yes, you'll have a better app if you add Default.png to the bundle before you upload to the Store. When last I looked, that wasn't a requirement, and there are still lots of apps that load with a black screen. But I wouldn't be surprised if Default.png is now or soon will be a requirement. It certainly helps to placate the user when your load time is anything over the absolute minimum.
    Hope that answers your questions!
    \- Ray
