Default jpg or still length change

I did a search for this topic and came up with nothing. Is there a way I can change the default length of various things from FCE titles, imported .jpg's, freeze frames, and so forth?
They all seem to come to 10 seconds, which is longer than we usually want them. We then cut them down to size EACH time we bring them into the sequence. Our work here would go a lot faster if we could change the default to 4-5 seconds.

User Preferences/Editing panel lets you set Still/Freeze Duration. That's for importing new still images and creating freeze frames. Titles are fixed at 10 seconds, but using superimpose will take the duration from the underlying image.

How to tick field WEORA in ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST as default but still can change it later

Dear Gurus,
I want to ask something. I want to make WEORA field ticked as default in BADI ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST but it still could change throughout transaction on ME21N. I added the code on PROCESS_ITEM method, but everytime I made changes, like I untick WEORA, it will back to tick itself again.
I'm so confused, how could I do it?
If someone could give me some idea, I'll be really appreciate it.

Last time I did it, I created a private instance attribute for the internal table (was kind of item number + action performed, where list of actions defined as constant attributes of the class) and I also created two private methods "check_action" which check if action was already executed on item with a READ TABLE, and "set_action" which APPENDs a record in internal table.

Final Cut X is ignoring import still length preferences.

I am trying to import a series of jpegs into an event. I have gone into the preferences pane and changed the default still length of 4 seconds to 1 second, 15 frames, etc. Final Cut is ignoring my changes, therfore I can't get the desired result. Is this a bug? Please help.

Isn't a bug, but I like to think of it as such. The duration of selection only works when you click on the icon of one clip. Select any more and the selection changes to 10 seconds. How is this useful? I've Googled and loads of people have the same assumption.
Of course, you can change the duration of all the images once they're in the timeline, so no big deal.

Thanks for your help. I cannot open the application (Acrobat XI) because I did not buy it. Every time I want to open a .pdf, I have to remember to take the extra step of going to "open with" and then select "Acrobat X". When I forget to do that, the XI "default" opens a window that gives me another chance to buy XI -- that's what I want to get rid of. Another approach (perhaps?) would be to change to default setting from "Adobe XI" to Adobe X" (the way it was before I tried the XI trial). But I don't know how to do that.

How can a make avi files without the length changing?

I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I'm posting it first here, as the process also involves FinalCut. If there's a better place to get an answer, maybe someone could streer me in that direction.
I'm doing some subtling which will then be coded onto professional tapes using FCP. I don't have the equipment (digibeta machines) to do that process at my end, so I'm sending the files to a studio and they're going to do the rest for me.
I have software that'll let me lay down subtitles and then export files with time code, but the software previews with avi files. After messages from the studio telling me that the subtitles were falling out of sync, I finally realized that the avi files I had made from the 30 minute DVD screeners were 4 seconds shorter in length than the material on the screener. I made more and more avi files to double check, each one came out 4 seconds shorter than it should have been. So that's my problem.
Does anyone know of a way to convert DVD (or VOB) files to avi without losing any time? Alternatively, does anyone know of a program for subtitling that works straight from DVDs? (I looked into Belle Nuit Subtitler, but it's impossible to tell how it works without paying for it and waiting three or four days for the order to manually process.)

The best solution to my particular problem seemed to be putting the avi file on the timeline in FCP, selecting it, the choosing "Duration" from the "Modify" menu and resizing it to the length it should have been.
I'm actually getting a friend to adjust most of the files in Premiere with his PC as I'm still on a G4 PowerBook and the rendering time for the avi files before I can manipulate them was half a day each. (Premiere has a similar feature.)
Thanks again to Andy for the MPEG Streamclip tip...it looks like it'll be useful in the future, and it's free! Cinematize also looked like it could have helped, but the demo mode only let me test 10 second exports at a time and that wasn't really enough for me to tell if the length changed or not. Didn't buy it this time around.
I also get the point that there must be a lot of people who use the term "urgent" to mean "hurry up and help me, I don't have time to read" with prolific good Samaratians no doubt tired of being bossed around in that way.

Anyway, the "Duration" option within FCP is one way to fix DVD burns and other format conversions that come out with different time spreads from the original. Rendering can take time on slower Macs though.

i want to set a variable with default value and can be changed by the user, so i new a variable with setting : customer exit, single value, optional, ready for input.
in my customer exit code, i set a default value, eg. 20070530
when the variable screen popup, it display the default value 20070530, i changed it to 20070529, but it doesn't work , it still display the data in 20070530, how can i solve this problem?

As mentioned by Anil, you need to restrict your customerr Exit code to I_STEP = 1.

<u>Open your Variable in change mode, in the Last Page os the Variable Maintenance you can provide default value. Note: you are doing same thing in Customer Exit. In your case no need of Customer Exit.</u>

Try to do a reset, if it doesn't work try remove recently added apps this may solve your problem ( like google app because it has happened with me)
Take a look at apps using your location service in privacy, it can cause battery draining.

When trying to start Firefox I keep getting message saying "A copy of Firefox is already open. Only one copy of Firefox can be open at a time." I've started a new Profile but Profile Manager keeps telling me the Default one is still in use.

When trying to start Firefox again I got a message saying "Close Firefox. A copy of Firefox is already open. Only one copy of Firefox can be open at a time." This question is addressed in Mozillazine but nothing I've tried from there seems to work. I started a new Profile from the Profile Manager which at least gets me up and functioning, but weirdly enough the Manager also tells me the old (Default) profile is still running, though I can't find a way to close it. I also can't find the Default profile in my profile manager. can anyone help?

Had this problem on my MacBook after I deleted my profile (the profile folder is named something like asd8f7as.default). The solution for me was to open profiles.ini and delete the information about the profile I had deleted. It should look something like this:

Delete, save, problem solved.

This issue can be caused by corrupted cookies.
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

Try restoring the IPad. Either plug it into your computer or go to iPad settings, reset, all content and data. Restoring it should fix any software issues if it's a software problem. If that doesn't work it's likely a hardware issue and can't help you there. Have to take it into an apple store or authorized seller.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
First check that all your settings are correct, that contact syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the contacts you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' group and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud group (you can do this by checking in groups), non iCloud contacts will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your contacts are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking contact syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling contact syncing.
