Default Keyboard showing up when not enabled

Afternoon all,
First off my iPhone is a 5C running iOS 8.0.2
I recently downloaded the Swiftkey keyboard and loved it enough to remove my default English keyboard on my iPhone. So I ran into a problem when I did this though. Whenever I switched out of my Messages app and switched back the Emoji keyboard would be set to default in place of swiftkey. I had already changed the order preference under settings to have swiftkey as the first keyboard but this kept happening, enough times where I just removed the Emoji keyboard all together so just swiftkey was left. Now the problem I am running into is that the default iOS keyboard is now popping up whenever I open the app, even though it is not set as one of my keyboards. I am able to get the custom keyboard back by closing the app and opening up again. What's the point of setting a default keyboard if the OS is just going to override it at the start anyway? Any idea if there is an easy fix or is this some bug that will have to get patched in the future?

I think I may have put iPhoto in HHS trash. Could that be the problem?
I don't know what "HHS trash" is. If you put the iPhoto app into the trash on the Dock and emptied it, that would prevent you from opening iPhoto until it was reinstalled, of course, but it wouldn't affect your photos.
You didn't answer my question, though. Do you have backups? Is your computer actually 7 years old, and has it ever had the hard drive replaced?

Try these basic things and see if the keyboard goes away for good.

External drive shows up when NOT connected

I have a FANTOM external drive where I keep my music and photos, but recently I've been having a problem. I accidentally downloaded photos to my computer when the drive wasn't connected, and my computer seems to have created it's own directory (or partition, or something, I don't know) called FANTOM and put the photos there, but I can't find any way to access it.
This means that when I open iPhoto, the pictures that I downloaded most recently are there. But if I do a search in Finder, my computer can't find any of the files - there's no iPhoto Library, and if I search by the file names of individual pictures, nothing comes up.
I finally tried exporting one of the photos from iPhoto, and the default location it comes up with to export the photo to is XXX's Computer/Macintosh HD/Volumes/FANTOM/Pictures/iPhoto Library. If I click OK, it seems to save the photo to that location - when I go back and export another photo, the first one I exported shows up in that folder. The only problem is, my FANTOM drive isn't actually connected. So where is it putting the photo?
What I would like to do is get rid of this mysterious FANTOM drive that seems to reside somewhere on my computer, so that I can connect my real FANTOM drive and use my real iPhoto Library. At the moment, even when I connect my external drive (and it shows up on the desktop and all that), my computer still only shows the pictures that are in the other iPhoto Library on its own, mystery FANTOM drive. And since I can't even find that mystery drive on my computer, there's no way for me to delete that iPhoto Library or rename it so that I can switch to the library on my real external drive.
Has anyone experienced this before? The best explanation I can come up with is that my computer looked for my external drive, and when it didn't find it, it created another imaginary drive with the same name - but that doesn't explain why the ONLY time it actually shows me this directory is when I'm trying to export a photo from iPhoto (it doesn't show up as a drive in Finder), or why the files in that directory don't show up when I search "Everywhere" on my computer.

If you want to use match when your hard drive is not attached, I suggest that you create a new blank library then turn on match, you will see all your music in cloud. Hold option key whilst launching iTunes and select create new library. You can switch between libraries as required.

My scroll bar dissapears when my firefox screen isn't maximized - how do I make it show up when not full screen?

This just happened spontaneously yesterday - did I press some strange shortcut to make this happen? How do I get my scroll bar back when not in full screen?
Please help!

It is possible that the screen is too high and that the status bar and scroll bar fall off at the bottom. 
Open the system menu via Alt+Space and see if you can resize that window. 
If that works then close Firefox to save that setting.

This is interesting..fonts showing properly when NOT activated

Version 10.0.0.70 of InDesign.
If I open a clients CC file I get no warning that the fonts are not active and they display properly.
While this can certainly be useful if the fonts are not provided it's also potentially dangerous.
I can package the file with out the fonts being packaged either. Without any warning that fonts will not be packaged.
In fact, I have seen customer files sent in without the fonts and it was clearly packaged.
I can also make a pdf with the fonts embedded.
If this is a feature, I should still be warned that "the fonts are not active but I will be able to see the fonts correctly in this window.
If I save as.. or copy and paste I will not see them properly". Or something to that effect
If however, this is not a feature, I would like to know how it's working. It is repeatable on every Mac here.
By the way, I DO NOT have type kit enabled.

No, definitely not activated anywhere.
I control all the fonts and know exactly where they all are, which ones have to stay, which ones the OS tries to repair when moved even though they are not crucial, etc etc.
It's odd because, if as I mentioned above, if we "save as.." and then reopen the file, the dialogue box comes up alerting the user that the fonts are indeed missing.
Also, if I drag the font frame to a new window or copy and paste to a new document, I can see in "Normal" mode the fonts become highlighted in pink, indicating of course that the font is actually missing.
We can reproduce this on all the Macs here regardless of the font(s) being used.
I wish it was as simple as a font being activated somewhere.

Thanks for the feedback. Since this appears to be a permissions issue there's one other thing to check. When the merge modules are installed there's often an option to install for "me" or for "everyone." Make sure the files are being deployed for everyone.
Here are links to some RDC and .NET documents as well as the Statement of Direction for the RDC. I'm not sure if you'll actually be able to pull them up though. Some documents require a login for the Service Market Place in order to view them. Hopefully these will work without logging in.

Volumes showing even when not connected

Hi, this is my problem:
Doing Get Info on my iPod shows it as "<My name>iPod 1". But in iTunes, and on Get Info for the iPod itself, it shows a "<My name>iPod".
If I go into Terminal and /Volumes, there are two listings- the iPod, and iPod 1.
I've completely reset my iPod to see if that will rectify matters. It hasn't.
Even without the iPod connected it still shows as a Volume. If I try umount, I get the message:
umount: <My name> iPod: not currently mounted
I got round it by changing the iPod name. However, now I have two instances of the new name, with one showing all the time on volumes
How can I remove these "rogue" values and stop this recurring?

OK, I've solved it! I'm not sure if this will stop it happening again, but this eliminated the issue.
By chance, I was running Disk Inventory X. In the graphical display there is a section called Volumes, and sat in there were all the iPods that my system thought were connected when they weren't.
There is a Move to Trash option, so I thought "Nothing ventured, nothing gained" and gave it a go - it worked!!
Hope this comes in handy for anyone else who may get this issue

Conform in unit of work broken when not enabling Read Subclasses On Query

Any business application must use conform in unit of work to have expected ACID properties or modifications done during a unit of work are not visible when executing queries.
So our application is always using conform in unit of work. We are using TopLink 10.1.3.3.
We have couple of mapped inheritances. One of them is setup so that when you query on the base class the subclasses are never returned. This is done in TopLink Workbench in inheritance tab by not checking checkbox "Read Subclasses On Query".
The SQL generated is right. But the code handling conform in unit of work doesn't respect the flag.
The code in UnitOfWork.java line 4185 is calling:
getIdentityMapAccessor().getAllFromIdentityMap(expression, class1, databaserow, inmemoryqueryindirectionpolicy);
This end-up to call IdentityMapManager.java line 648:
public IdentityMap getIdentityMap(Descriptor descriptor)

No places in the code are trying to respect deactivation of "Read Subclasses On Query".
So the query return also subclasses that were in the unit of work!

This is a bug, the subclasses should be getting filtered when conforming.
Please contact Oracle technical support with this issue.
As a workaround you could filter the subclass in your application after executing the query (or possibly use a query redirector), or disable conforming.

QTPro shows reg# but not enabled after archive install

I bought QT Pro when it was 7.0.3 & Pro features worked fine. Then I recently 'archive & installed' my OSX to fix other bugs. Now QT doesn't launch as Pro, even though my 7.0.3 registration # does come up in the registration section. I have not upgraded QT since then, not going to re-buy Pro over and over, and can confirm that it is still 7.0.3 I'm running. Any ideas? Please help.

I think I figured it out. My ATI 9600Pro video card was missing some drivers after the archive/install. I read somewhere that archive/install doesn't necessarily archive eeeeverything.
Anyway, when I launched the ATI monitor program (on a lark) it said 'yo, I'm missing a few things, load up that DVD driver disk again." So I did and badabing, problem appears to have been solved.
QT still doesn't technically SAY it's pro still, but all the features are still there. So that's still a little wierd, but probably a different issue.
So thanks all for the efforts. Hopefully this'll help someone else someday.

Fire Fox no longer applies my UN and PW when I open a site. The function is not enabled. All PS are still showing in tools, options.

I have several site that have User names and Pass Words assigned and saved in tools, options. Fire Fox no longer applies these when I open the site. When I look at tools, options the "Remember passwords for sites" is not enabled. How do I re enable this function.

Your System Details List shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize prefs each time Firefox starts.
The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created this file and normally it wouldn't be there.
You can check its content with a plain text editor (right-click: Open with) if you didn't create this file yourself.
The user.js file is read each time Firefox is started and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so preferences set via user.js can only be changed temporarily for the current session.
Delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.

default keyboards folder in illustrator CC not showing- no .kys file in apps folder, The keyboard shorcuts in Illustrator -Edit-shorcuts, don't show default shortcuts either...should I reinstall Illustrator CC?

If you are on a Mac, then the default keys should be in Adobe Illustrator CSX/Presets/en_US/Keyboard Shortcuts. If it's not there then a reinstall would be in order possibly running the cleaner tool in between.
