  • Adobe CQ5.5 Digital Asset - Delete default metadata and how to create custom metadata

    Hi
I am trying to create custom metadata for all format of assets (PDF, DOC, TXT, etc.,). I have created the dam folder under apps node as below:-
    Step 1:  /apps/dam/content/asseteditors/formitems
Step 2:  Included the four property as textfield and selection according to our requirement under formitems
    Step 3:  I changed the cq:allowedTemplates from /content/dam/jcr:content
Step 4:  I tried to upload the asset, I could get the custom metadata for Txt, Doc, PPT, XLSX
Step 5:  But for JPG, PNG and PDF I am getting the default metadata which is huge list.
How to control this one? I want my custom metadata only displayed for creation assets. Find the attached.
    CRX - Custom Template Configured
CRX - Custom Metadata populated for ZIP format
CRX - Custom Metadata not populated for PDF format

    Hi,
If you read the description under section http://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/current/dam/how_to_edit_metadata.html#Creating New Metadata Property for Assets you will find yout the format for images and its different format stores at different location. So to deal with image metadata plz try below
    1. Create a "image" node under "/apps/dam/content/asseteditors" as sling folder and configure it similar to "/apps/dam/content/asseteditors"
    2. under this folder again copy paste the "/libs/dam/content/asseteditors/formitems" and customize it accordingly
Above will help you to manage with all types of images. Now if you want to have separate group of property for different image types then similar to above you have to create format node inside image folder for example jpg file type create a node with name "jpeg" under "image" node & configure similarly as you did for image.
I hope it will help you to proceed. Please let me know for more information.
    Thanks,
    Pawan

  • How to Apply Default Property Structure to File Repository

    Hi,
I have added few custom properties to the default property structure and those properties are appearing for all the resources under the /document folder.
I created a file repository but the custom property is not appearing for the resources in this repository.
Is Default Property Structure not used by the File Repository, if not how to apply?

  • Removing default Metadata set

I am creating very specific metadata fields, groups and sets for one of our clients. however, i cannot seem to delete the custom Metadata Sets, for example: 'Show' has no relevance to us, but I can create new sets fine. Please if anyone knows how to do this or know a good workaround, any help will be much appreciated.
    thanks

    Sure, FCSvr is highly customisable.
Having the default metadata there gives one options, you don't have to use it all. Only the admin should ever see it if setup correctly. You see it, ignore it and move on.
Or, I may be misunderstanding your question. Are the end users seeing a field you don't want them to?
I know you can delete certain fields - but backup your database first.
Even deleting a seemingly useless (to some deployments) metadata group such as Documents, can totally wreck the database.
You can install a custom metadata set which will require a lot of work to build from scratch. If you do want to go that route it will take many man hours to construct database fields, lookups, sets, etc.
    Good luck.

  • Default InfoCube Structure (0CURRENCY)

I have a question about the default InfoCube structure. It has a dimention "U", which is 0CURRENCY. How is it used? What for? I see that if a Key Figure in InfoCube has a type "Amount" it has 0CURRENCY in field "Unit / currency" in its Key Figure description.
    Thanks,
    Olga

    Hi Olga,
Just one question are you new to BI? then welcome to BI.
ok whatever the answer is if you see in RSD1 for 0AMOUNT you can find in Unit / currency = 0CURRENCY.
why because for any amount you required prefix currency this currency stores in 0CURRENCY.
IN cube dimension U is unit dimension.
whenevr you use any keyfigure at that time system automatically identify the Unit/Currency for that keyfigure & then put that Unit/Currency into U Dimension.
    Hope you got ur answer.

  • G6: Setting default metadata values

Hello all!I am trying to find a way to set default metadata values in plumtree.
For example, if I created a Web Content Crawler to scan MarchofDimes.com, which has various career postings, I would like to be able to default or force these crawled content items to have a category field of "Job Postings".
It appears that at the "Content Type" object level, you can set a default value. However I don't want to set "Job Postings" as the category for all imported web content, only those imported through this particular crawler.
I tried to create a new Content Type called "Web Content - Job Postings" but I chickend out when it got down to setting a new identifier to map to the Content Type. I wasn't sure how that would be accepted in the Global Content Mime/File Type Map Utility if there were duplicate identifiers.
Apart from going into each crawled document and setting the category field manually, does anyone have a recommendation on how this can be done? Thanks!Geoff!
While I have your attention, in the Global Document Property Map, how can I identify the various Document Attributes?

  • Populate word document with default metadata information

Problem is revers as it is available in internet.  I have created list and
columns. Which are populated  with default value. I have created word
template. I can enter  data related to “Document properties”, ect. When I save that document to document library, I can see that filed data, that I type it in newly created word document.
But because I have several project document library and sites, I would like to create library,
and fill all data with required values.  Then when I open new document from pre defied
template, I would like to have all fields  that are empty in document, to be filed
from  default columns value. Problem is, that when I save document, All fields are empty.
There is no problem, upending document, and default properties are presented.
How can I merge  default values from library, to word document ?

I have word template, that I added-it as a site content type. It has all standard
fields  that are mapped to document library filed. If I open
new document in  document library, and input
required filed,  after  saving document, I can
see those fields in SharePoint document library (Item properties).
Problem that I have is, following :
When I open that  document “new document” from template, I would like to have all fields filed with default values of that particular library.
Reason : Because  I will generate  hundred project (
Each new library is based on new project, build fields are the same, values changes to mimic project)
),  I do not wont to create additional template, that would have required fields fill up wit project value, and add it to content type.. .
I do not won`t to fill those properties manually.
Option 1 :  After saving document based on template, it will fill out
    required fields.
Option 2: Create template, for each project, and save that template as project template, that users open, and save it to project Site/library.
Option 1, is preferred.  Can that be done, when item is created, and copy project
    information, from different location ?
So I have  document library fields :
Name of the project,  Projec Manager,  Project ref number, Contract, ...
These filed are mapped to document filed :
Name of the project,  Projec Manager,  Project ref number, Contract, ...
    I have document library : Project A
    Project A  ,  John dear,
    REF2014_01_01, C1243332_2014, ...
    I have document library : Project B
    Project B ,  Same Jones ,  REF2014_03_05, AS563332_2014, ...
I would like,  that when I save  document
using New document (template),  that have those filed fill up. I do not wont to
create  new template for every project.

  • Best way to integrate system Music & Movies folders with iTunes' default folder structure?

I understand that OSX has system folders that can't be moved (Music, Movies, Documents, etc.).  These folders are the only ones that get their specialized icons in the sidebar.  I like those icons as they make choosing the right folder easier (even though I can read).
    MUSIC:
Isn't there something very un-elegant to have my actual music files buried 4 layers deep in OSX's folder structure?  By that I mean, I'd like to click on my (system) Music folder and see my music.  But OSX and iTunes have schemed to make users have to deal with  Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music.  It's weird, right?
I am aware that the iTunes library location can be altered via Advanced Prefs, but I like having Music, Podcasts, Movies, etc. be on the same folder level, if that makes sense.  If I point iTunes to my (system) Music folder, then my other media will be down below in the iTunes Media folder.
    MOVIES:
Likewise, if I let iTunes manage my files, movies go to the Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Movies folder.  I don't let iTunes copy everything into the Media folder (as I don't want to eat HD space with duplicates), but that's still where it wants movies to go when it organizes.  Similar to the Music folder issue above, how can I make use of my (system) Movies folder given this setup?
I know that I can just remove whatever folders I want from the sidebar and put in the ones that iTunes uses, but then I lose out on the icons and I end up having permanent folders in my Home folder that don't even get directly used for the media files they're supposed to hold.
    Thoughts?

first of all, to get rid of the duplicates, you tell iTunes to consolidate Library.
I think you may be missing the idea of what iTunes does for you. If you have content, like music, that you want to find the file of, you right click the name of the file in itunes and then "show in finder" . For things like iChat, you can simply drag and drop your music into the chat window from itunes, just like it was finder. iTunes organizes your media for you so you don't have to go looking for it.
The same thing goes with videos.
There is no reason to have two of the same files on your computer. Think of iTunes like finder, only it plays media too.
Not everyone uses itunes. Things like quicktime player, after you do a recording, will save the content into your videos folder. They're not on itunes but it uses your video folder to save the recordings. This is just one example of how your video sidebar icon folder will still be useful.
Delete the backups you have of your media unless they're in a format the itunes doesn't support, like lossess formats such as Flac, because it is pointless and wasteful to have two of the same files for music and video on your computer.

  • Default XML structures in IPC

    Hi,
My client wants to implement IPC and connect over PI to other systems.
Is there some documentation on how to achieve this?
Is there something like default XML messages that we can implement?
    thx
    Robert

One way to make your program use the Saxon 6 transformer is to make this line of code run in its initialization:System.setProperty("javax.xml.transform.TransformerFactory",
"com.icl.saxon.TransformerFactoryImpl");This is for Saxon 6, note, the class name you should use for Saxon 7 is something else. You should find the exact name in the Saxon documentation somewhere.
I don't have any Resin experience, but you need to find the place where you can specify Java system properties for Resin and specify that one (javax.xml.transform.TransformerFactory) there. The command-line version would be
    java -Djavax.xml.transform.TransformerFactory=...

  • Default directory structure - simple question.

I need to add a configuration file to my application.
I thought about adding it to either the web or web/resources directory of my project.
    My question is this:
How do I reference either of these directories in my File access routine?
    Thanks

Ah OK, now I see .. You can use a propertiesfile and put it in the classpath (inside a WAR, it can be the root of the package or the WEB-INF/lib directory). Then you can retrieve it by ClassLoader#getSystemResourceAsStream().
    Basically:
    String filename = "config.properties";
    InputStream input = ClassLoader.getSystemResourceAsStream(filename);
    Properties properties = new Properties();
    properties.load(input);
    input.close();
    String someKey = properties.getProperty("someKey");Where config.properties looks like:someKey = someValue
anotherKey = anotherValueAlso see the java.util.Properties API.

  • Assign specific metadata for folder structures in the Content Server

Assign specific metadata for folder structures in the Content Server
    Hi to all,
I working with Oracle Content Server 10g and Desktop Integration Suite and I will like to know how can I restrict or enable some specific metadatas from the default metadata, for differents content folder. This is different from the function: Information Field Inherit Configuration.
    tnks!

I am a bit unclear about your question:
    - do you ask about metadata assigned to folders, or
    - do you ask about metadata assigned to items in folders?
Starting from #2, if you forget about folders, there is standard functionality that you can use to restrict, enable, ... metadata for an item. Read this chapter: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/doc.1111/e10978/c04_metadata.htm#sthref288 to get full details.
I am not sure whether you can use anything of this functionality (profiles, option lists, etc.) when you check in a new folder. I doubt it, though. The logic of folders is slightly different - whilst e.g. profiles correspond to "content item", you don't find such a correspondence in folder's hierarchy (why a folder could not contain various content types, for instance?)
Last question is, from where you want to use this functionality - even for items. In 10g, Desktop Integration Suite's functionality was rather limited (often it was supposed that a user will just 'throw' an item to a folder, and metadata will be inherited from folders). You might have to upgrade your DIS to 11g; it should work even with 10g Content Server, but make sure you verify it before mass upgrade. In 11g, DIS should offer profiles, etc. with full capabilities.

  • Set a Metadata Default Preset in LR3?

I'm wondering if there is a way to set ONE "custom" preset to be the default metadata for all time - applied to every single image ever brought into LR3?
I want to use these to help © my work and leave embedded contact information in the files - but it is a big pain to have to do it manually for every time I import files - also something I don't always remember to do all the time.
I don't ever need different presets - just one main one.  As it stands it comes up as "NONE".    I'm stumped as to where one sets a default meta preset.  Within the preset editor -  the program preferences - nowhere that I can find.

But I'm not aware of any place where one can set it to a default preset - so that it requires NO adjustment/setting - and no manual attention ever again
If you set it in Import, it's remembered for future import sessions. How more much persistent than this should but be?
Every time a new catalog is made.
And it is valid for all catalogs.

  • Metadata default for Audiobooks is for Music and does not help

No default metadata for audiobooks -- such as spoken word equalizer, keep place in playback, gapless or name sort.
Is there any scripts or automator programs that will do all this?

You can easily do it yourself.
Select all thefiles, right click - get info and set the options you want to apply to everything selected.
Note that setting *Part of Gapless album* for audio books is not needed. That option does only one thing.
If you have Cross Fade enabled and play consecutive tracks from the same gapless album, they will not cross fade. Most people don't have Cross Fade enabled when listening to audio books.

  • Defining metadata at the folder level.

We are migrating from Content DB to Webcenter Content 11.1.1.7, using FrameworkFolders.
Our old Content Management solution (Content DB), allowed us to define metadata on a folder level. For example a group of metadata (a category in Content DB) could be defined and applied to a specific folder. When documents are uploaded, the server enforces the metadata to be populated for all documents uploaded to that folder and all child folders.
Webcenter Content seems to behave quite differently. From what I can tell, this is set up in the "Configuration Manager" Admin applet. Metadata fields are defined in the "Information Fields" tab. Sets of fields are defined as a "Rule". Roles are enforced on uploaded content through "Profiles". A given profile is enforced by the user of a "Trigger". The trigger is specified to look at a specific field, which is global to everything on the server. This is all documented here: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/doc.1111/e10978/c04_metadata.htm#DAFJDCEH
Having the trigger field be global seems to be very restrictive. We will have several different systems storing content on the server. Isn't this a big limitation of the product?
How can create a rule to enforce metadata to be populated for all content that is uploaded to a folder?
    Thanks!

I'd say the answer is: create a folder and assign it a set of metadata (and inherit, if you will).
I don't think WebCenter Content, or UCM, has a concept equal to the mentioned category as described; i.e. an object that represents a metadata settings that can be assigned to 'something'. There are, however, many concepts that are close:
    - rules/profiles mentioned in the initial posts - a profile (consisting of rules) may correlate to a "content type". It defines what fields make sense for this particular content item, what is required, default, etc. (relationship between fields). The caveat is that profiles define actually just how content items behave in the GUI; (global) rules can enhance also back-end processing (e.g. fill in an automated contentID identifier, if missing), but in reality they don't define data model
    - folders - folders help to define hierarchy on items. As Srinath explained, we can also benefit from propagation of metadata, or inheritance. This is probably the closest concept to the Content DB category, but the holder is not the category, but the folder itself. Keep also in mind that folder is an optional parameter, and metadata inherited from a folder can be overriden for both items and folders
    - in URM, where the categorization is more strict is another hierarchical structure; retention category (which can be assigned other settings, esp. disposition rules, and which can contain retention folders)
    - yet, another concept that might be useful in some use cases are folios; a folio is an item (XML-file) that has its own metadata, and can reference other content items. However, operations on a folio item OOTB does not affect contained content items, and a content item can be referenced by several folios.
Finally, if no standard concept helps, you may always create your own customization via filters. A filter is a Java piece of code, which can be "hooked" to standard events (like "uploading a file", or check-in as it is called in UCM) and which can do whatever validation you like. For instance, I created a component which checks that an assigned quota on a folder to which an item is uploaded is not exceeded.
I assume that for your use case, you might be good to go with a combination of folders and profiles (a profile setting can also be assigned to a folder as default metadata). Let us know if you get stuck.
