Default Music Player

I've updated to jelly bean.  Is there a way to have google play as my default music player instead of the music hub (version)?

Yes, from your homescreen, press menu>settings>applications, select the all tab at the top, scroll down to music hub, then select clear defaults.  The next time you try to play music, your phone should ask you what you want to use and you can check the make default box and then choose Play Music.

  • How do i stop my ipod touch from reverting back to the default music player everytime i get back in my car?

The only place I use my Ipod Touch is in my car that has an iPod connection and the steering wheel controls, but I mostly listen to audio books with the audible app. Everytime I get in my car instead of the iPod just picking up where it left off with the audible app it picks up playing whatever was last listened to with the default music player. How can I stop this? Although sometimes it will pick up with the audible app where it stopped when I last used the car (the time I spend with it not playing in the car doesn't seem to make a difference.). Just a little side question is there anyway to get rid of the newstand app, safari, messaging, facetime, gamecenter and all those other app that apple forces upon it's users?

There is nothing yo can do to return to the app you want.
You can't delete the apps that came with the iPod. Except for NewsbStand, you can put the apps you do not want into one folder and move it to the last screen

  • Is it possible to set a default music player for the music on my external hard drive while still keeping my iTunes the default player on my Mac ?

Is it possible to set a default music player for the music on my external while still keeping my iTunes the default player on my Mac ?

There is no setting in the iPhone to set another default music player. The default is Music. If you are using another application, you are at the mercy of how that application operates as far as what occurs when it stops or errors out. The car is looking for music to play.

  • Default music player on

I just bought the Zen but before I had the Nomad Zen Xtra or whatever it was called. With the Nomad, I used Creative MediaSource to organize my library, synch music with my player, and listen to music from the computer. Now that I have the Zen, I must use the Zen Media Explorer for synching and organizing. But, is that supposed to be the default music player on the computer (instead of Windows Media Player?)? And what is that Zencast Organizer?
And one more question - how come in the Zen Media Explorer some of my music folders are listed just under Music, while a majority are in Music >> My Music? It won't let me move them all to just Music.Message Edited by pixelbabii on 2-2-200702:08 PM

  • Changing E6 default music player

    Hi
Have installed QuasarMx on my Anna E6 and would like to have as my default music player but when I go to settings|application settings|default applications and try andchange the dafault for playing music only the Nokia Music player is listed.
    Any ideas?

Try to install the new music player on your device(C, D)  and not on the SD Card.
Then Nokia should 'see' the music player better.
    Hope it will work

  • I want to make iTunes my default music player + P.S.

RE: music &/or video playing on my iMac
What is the path that I must take to find out where to set iTunes as the default music/video player? I believe that I have QuickTime at this point, but have learned that for the music player, iTunes is the preferred application. One can import, organize, browse, plan, and burn all in the same application. So.... I am going to change over but need to know where it is. I know it is in System Preferences but can anyone steer me in the right direction? Thank you.
P.S.: I now have music automatically starting and looping on a page in my website. I am going to add more music to my pages, too.

    Hi Lorna...
    Still up, huh? Me too.
    .......... Lorna says ................................................
I was up late last night, though not as late as the time I went to bed at 6 AM. And then woke up at 9 AM.
I don't think you need to do anything really to have
iTunes handle your audio files. Keep in mind that in
    general, iTunes=audio, and QuickTime player=video.
I believe that OS X is already set up along these
lines and the appropriate application will open up
according to file types and file extensions....
    .......... Lorna says ................................................
But James every now and again I deal with some sort of programlet or another, and it asks me whether or not I want to have THAT program as my default handler of (whatever). In the past (but probably prior to Tiger) I have accepted the idea because it seemed sane and probably appropriate. I know that in the past, it was a matter of choice between iTunes and QuickTime.
    This
is not to say, though, that the occasional podcast
or ITMS video file can't be played in iTunes and
that QuickTime player can't also open up audio
    files.
    .......... Lorna says ................................................
Aha. My podcasts come in thru iTunes. That is how I accidentally discovered (the other night) that I had probably clicked onto someone's podcast icon. It had lovely music on it.
Ultimately, everything is part of the same
thing. That's what is so easy about using
    Macs...things just work.
So no worries, Lorna.... I have added some audio to
my website, too....dedicated to you, Lorna... It's
just baby sounds, but hey...it's SOUND!
    .......... Lorna says ................................................
Those sounds are very sweet. Baby squeals are always heart tuggers. Innocent, vulnerable creatures always have a straight path to the heart, and thus so do the little creature sounds that they make.
I am soon going to work on my second song for another page. As you know, I began it last night.
(The only semi-nightmare scenario I see is me not being too acquainted with the html page, and maybe sneezing and my mouse erases data on the page and everything on that page gets wiped out. I am a little bit (a lot) afraid of messing up changing the html on the new page. 8-( 8-( 8-( And Apnewbie is somewhere in the mountains with his son. HahahahahahaHAHAHA!
OK. Back to serious controlled business here.

  • Default music player equaliser

Hi all, I'm new to these forums so please forgive me if this topic has already been raised. I have the 5230, a great phone and a major upgrade to anything that I've had in the past. I'm quite an audiophile so am stressing the limits of the built in music player, I've noticed something that annoys me slightly though: the graphical equaliser, along with the stereo widening effect and the loudness function only work when playing MP3 files. They are totally incapable of altering the sound of MP4 and WMA. Has anyone else noticed this bug?
    Best,
    Steve

    Hi,
you just go to Nokiacare and tell them to 'FLASH' the software again. But you'll lose ur all datas. you can backing up from mobile phone to ur PC b4 going to nokiacare.

  • Stopping iTunes being default music player

I have several players, such as RealPlayer, QuickTime and VLC, capable of playing mp3, AAIF and other types of music files already on my computer. Whenever I double-click one of these files, it is always iTunes that opens and starts playing the file. How can I prevent iTunes being the default player?

Select a document, choose Get Info from the File menu, specify the correct application under Open With, click on Change All, and confirm this action.

Select "Edit", choose "Preferences", click the "Advanced" tab and then select the "General" tab. Lastly put a check mark next to "Use iTunes as the default player for audio files". This should solve your problem.

  • How do I make iTunes my default music player instead of Quicktime?

First let me say I'm not very tech savy so this could all be something simple that I'm overlooking but iTunes used to be my default player on my mac but now when I try to play music files from other devices such as a flash drive it prompts Quicktime to start up. Any ideas on how to change this back to iTunes?

Select a document in the Finder, choose Get Info from the File menu, click on Open With, select the desired application, and press the Change All button.

  • Selecting default music player

When I download a music file or radio stream, and it asks me what to open it with. and I want to use VLC, where do I look in the files for the file to open VLC media player?

Doji wrote:In firefox, preferences > applications. The VLC binary is found at /usr/bin/vlc. You can confirm this for yourself by running "which vlc" in the terminal.
under firefox preferences there wasn't much listed, but that's OK, I selected VLC and it plays fine!
    Thanks

  • [SOLVED] Changing default music player

A very simple question, but I'm trying to make rhythmbox play my mp3 files instead of VLC. When I do open-with, it tells me I have to use sudo for it. But I'm not using the terminal for that, I'm using the lxde-compiz gui. I don't know the command
I opened some cache files and switched rhythmbox into the front of the list like another site I found said, but it didn't work. The openwith and change default worked great with my root account though xD
I really just don't know what terminal command it would be to change it.

Eventually found out by running around in Compiz settings, but installed that program as well. Seems very nice!
    Thanks.

  • Is it (or will it be) possible to navigate by folder instead of tags in the default music player ?

Navigation by tags is great for well-taged albums, but in some case, folder-based navigation would be greater :
    * Multi-author compilations
    * Podcasts from the radio (not often well tagged)
    * self-encoded/recorded stuff

  • N8: Getting Really Sick of Music Player and Photo ...

Both Music Player and the Photo Gallery look at the entire device - main memory, mass memory, SD card, everything. This is an ENORMOUS pain. Is there some way I can change this, even if it means using 3rd party software?
    1. Music player looks at all audio files on your entire device, so if I hit play all on shuffle, I get all the sound effects for games that have their sounds stored as WAV or whatever data, I get any sound files from projects that I am working on that I've put on my phone to transfer them elsewhere (effectively using my phone as a memory stick - very useful). This is really annoying. Can I just tell the music player to just look in my Music folder and no where else?!?
    2. Photo Gallery does the same with images. All my contact photos I download using Face Contacts appear in my gallery. Same with games that use standard image files. All music cover art files appear in here. I just want it to only show what's under my Images folder!
Help! It's driving me bl**dy mad!

It looks like N8 default music player will scan all the audio files in your device & default photo gallery will scan all the image files in image folder. Hope this help to clear your doubt.
