Default Node in Portal Content

Hi,
Is there any way i cud set a particular folder as my default node, so that when i click the content administration tab on the TLN , it should load this path as a default.
PortalConent
     >MyFolder_1
        >MyFolder_2
           >My_Dir.
This helps when there is a huge list of nodes and is a pain each time to click all the nodes to go to my working folder..

Hi Peter,
there is no possibility at the moment to mark a folder as default in the Portal Content Catalog. What you could do, is to use a "_" in front on the NAME of the folder (and not the only the ID), so that it comes up at the front of the folders list.

Portal Content area not displaying in Portal

I tried to disable Portal favorites option from Content admin -> Default Frame work Page -> Detailed navigation. Instead of only disabling the default navigation I have disabled the entire Portal content area and I am now not able to see any content in the Portal except the masthead area and the Top level navigation.
Can any one please help me on this.

Hi,
Check the content area iview in the Desktop inner page in framework page.If this iview is not there then it will not show the content area.
If desktop inner page is deeted then also you will not see the content area.
If so please add the content area iview indside the Desktop inner page then you can see the content area for the users.
Content area iview will be available under the following path of the portal
Content Administration > Portal Content > Content provided by sap > Admin Interfaces > Admin Iview Templates > Content Area (view).

Error while loading the portal content in Content administrator

hi all,
After successful login in to portal, by default portal loads the Content Administrator.
While loading PORTAL CONTENT its throwing an error message u201CERROR: OBJECT REQUIREDu201D.
Where as its the same error with the System administrator--> Portal content.
This is the first time I have seen this error. Please suggest me the solution. This is a high priority issue.

Error while loading Portal Content Folder of the EP 7...

Hi All,
We were importing the .epa file from EP 6 WAS 6.20 to EP7 WAS 7. So, in betweeen the importing process got stuck and i have canceled the import and went to Content Administrator and just tried to open the Portal Content folder then instead of loading the folder list, it gave the following error *Could not load or refresh node Tree creation failed on node: pcd:portal_content *.
If anybody already came across this type of error, Please help us in correcting this error.

--> We didn't change anything in production portal, it is a satnd alone JAVA stack but we have made some some changes in backend R3 system which is a diffrent system on different server
FYI ---> We are facing the problem with portal content not expanding for quite a long time.
3. Which portal version and which sp level are you on?
--> EP 7.0 and SP11
4. Which browser are you using for your portal?

Unable to expand Tree in EP   (e.g. Portal Content)

Dear Portal Gurus,
We are on EP 6.0,SP12.
We are unable to expand any tree structure (including stanadard Tree Structure) inside EP.
I get the following message :

when I exported a transport package I saved it on Portal conect and after doing all the transporting, when I opened the content administration and try to expand the portal content, I get the following error:

MDM 7,1 Portal Content

I have configured MDM 7.1 Portal content and I am facing issuse that I do not have control on . For example if I edit an existing record and try saving the changes it saves and automatically creates a duplicate record.
If I try to duplicate a particular record , the result set and item detail iView keeps on refreshing ending up in a number of record getting created on the background. When I try to close a particular item details it just gets stuck and the item details and result set both start refreshing . The only option to get out of this situation is close the browser,
Now is this a bug that I will have to wait for SAP to fix or there is something we can do .

Yes, I have configured UWL with MDM 7.1. The NextStep action button for triggering the workflow to next step is not displayed on its own. You have to change the UWL xml file in portal for displaying it.
Create a new action element in ItemType element( uwl.task.mdm.tasks.<SystemAliasName>), use the following code

Portal Content Directory Invisible

The problem is due to lack of role as by default the portal content directory will permit only super admin role so if you have created user with out this role then you have to either add your user or the new role to the permissions of the Portal Content Folder....
You can do this by logging into the user with super admin role and add your user/role to the portal content permissions...
Permissions can be added either from System administration or from Content Administration ...
System Administration --> Permissions --> Select Portal Content and add your role or user
Content Administration --> Dbl Clk Portal Content Directory --> in the display select box select Permissions and add your user / role ...

Portal Content missing

Hello All,
When I go to Content Administration --> Portal Content, I just see the "Looking..." message but nothing appears. After a couple of minutes "Looking" message ends and nothing is displayed.
I already deployed ESS and MSS Business Packages with SDM but I can't see the content in the Portal Content menu. I can't even see the "default" portal content.
This is my first portal installation and I don't know if I must do something to see the Portal Content in this menu. I'm using Administrator user.
Any help will be appreciated.

Portal Content failed to expand in IE

Hi,
I am using IE 6.0 SP1 with Windows XP SP2. The Portal Content shows "Loading..." when I try to expand it. but it does not load anything, it just hangs there. Moreover there is an error on the bottom left of IE showing the following, "Done, but with errors". Clicking on the error brings me to a popup with the below

Is this a known issue with IE?
I tried using firefox but right clicking on the folders in the Portal Content, opens the default firefox window instead of the EP, window which gives us the option to create new iView etc. Can anyone help me please?

Thanks for the answer. My HTTP 1.1 settings have been enabled all these while. The strange thing is that the problem was resolved by itself. The only thing I did was to install jsdk 1.3 yesterday. I dont know if that resolved the issue.
But I am still getting an Exclamation mark at the bottom left of my screen, clicking on it brings up a window saying Object Expected. Think this is a jscript error. I dont know if this will affect the EP in anyway.
Any idea what is causing that error and how do we circumventi it?

Open KM Link (not external link) created in KM to html/htm page located in KMcontent in Portal content area.
Is there any way can I open KM link created in same window (Portal content area) not in new window? By default it always opens in new window? From these links I created KM Navigation iView layoutset as LinkList explorer.

Hi Mark,
As mentioned by VS..look into the iview property and then checkout the "Launch In" or "Display State" (sry cannot remember by hard) and set it according to what VS indicated above. This way, when you click on the iview from your Portal (not preview), it will display in the content area.

How to call Java WebDynpro iViews from Portal (Portal Content Directory)

Hello everybody,
I am trying to call a Java WebDynpro iView, which was created within the Enterprise Portal and is stored in the portal content directory (pcd).
I have created an HTML-iView in VC, where I have put in the pcd-link into the default-url field (pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/every_user/com.sap.pct.cprxrpm.ppmdc/com.sap.pct.cprxrpm.iviews/com.sap.pct.cprxrpm.iviews_cprojects/com.sap.pct.cprxrpm.cpr_projects). This iView is calling the cProjects WebDynpro Application. But after I run my model, the portal page is running and running, but nothing happens.
I did the same with transactional iView, which was also created in the Portal before. I have also created an HTML-iView in VC, where I have put in the pcd-link into the default-url field (pcd:portal_content/IBU_content/SAP_for_Service_Provider/com.sap.pct.issp.ps.professional_services/com.sap.pct.issp.prs.iviews/com.sap.pct.issp.prs.display_sd). This is working fine!
What I also tried is to call another VC-Model with an HTML-iView. Here I have put-in into the default-url field the pcd-location of my VC-model (pcd:portal_content/IBU_content/SAP_for_Service_Provider/com.sap.pct.issp.vcmodels/com.myComp.myProduct.1DM9.CreateEngagement/com.myComp.myProduct.iviews/com.myComp.myProduct.1G62.Cprojects_neu). This is also running fine!
Now I do not understand the difference between this three objects. There are all iViews within the portal but the WebDynpro iView is not callable through a HTML-iView in VC.
Could you help me in this case? Your help is very appreciated!

when you mean the preview within the portal, yes, it is working fine.
URL is not the way to solve my problem. I am working with IDES-Systems. This is our Demo System within SAP. I have to build my VC-Model in a Master IDES-System which will be transported than into the other IDES-Systems. The URL of the WD is not the same in the other systems. It is changing depending on the several Sysems. But the pcd-location is in all systems the same. Therefore I have to specify the pcd-location of the application.
Is there a restriction with WD within VC?
If we can do some kind of a netmeeting, I can show you my problem exactly.

Portal content migration from 7.0 to 7.3

Greetings,
We have installed a clean version of 7.3 portal environment (vanilla).
I have transferred all 7.0 portal content (most of it - WAD reports & ECC transaction iViews) to 7.3 environment by using standard transport mechanism.
After I execute any of those transferred reports iViews, I receive a portal exception, which doesn't appear in the default trace log file, or any other log file whatsoever.
My question is - is there a special procedure to move standard portal content (like WAD reports) to 7.3 environment, or a regular transport would work as well?

There is no special procedure to be followed for transport mechanism. But make sure that the installations are made correctly and the system for communication has been created and tested the connection successfully in Sys admin -> Sys landscape
Paste the exception which you are getting. Also where did you look the logs?
