Default output format

Hi all.
How does one specify the default output format for a template that can have multiple output formats?
I want some to default to PDF and some to default to HTML.
Dave

Hi ashee1.
I thought about that. That's a rather serious hack
though. I don't want to have to create multiple
templates (with the associated maintenance issues)
just to specify the default output format for a
particular report.
DaveDave:
While registering the Template Definition, specify the default output format. When you run it, you can change the output format using Options.

  • Changing Oracle Report Output Format at runtime

    Dear All,
I've custom Oracle Report in Oracle Apps., and would like to give the users an option to select the output format (XML, TEXT, PDF, etc.) whilst submitting the request.
As a SYSADMIN, we can modify the Output Format value of the concurrent program(Oracle Report in this case) to one we like.
But I would like the user to select this output format option at runtime, rather then hard coding at SYSADMIN level. For that I've to create a Value Set with the desired report output format options, and attach this to the concurrent program.
My question is, how we can make the desired output format to work at runtime?
    If any one can help?
    Thanks,
    Sandeep

    Hi Steve,
    I couldn't get it...???
I'm running an Oracle Report in Oracle Apps. release 11.5.9
The default output format of this report is TEXT, which is defined in its concurrent program.
This report is submitted using standard request submission screen, and after successful completion we can view the output by pressing "View Output" button on "Requests" screen. This will open an another window and we can view the output page by page. Using "Tools>Copy File..." menu option, we can view the same output in IE window.
Now, how does your resolution fits here and how can I view the same report in XML format?
    Many Thanks,
    Sandeep

  • XML Publisher report default output in Excel format.

    Hi,
We have defined one concurrent program whose output format is text, this concurrent program executable is PL/SQL and in this PL/SQL program we are generating XML data and displaying XML using below fnd_request.
    l_conc_id := FND_REQUEST.SUBMIT_REQUEST('GMP','GMPPDROP','', '',FALSE,
         p_sequence_num,chr(0),'','','','','','','','','','','',
We have also defined template for this.
Using below fnd_request we are choosing template and data is getting generated in PDF format. Now our requirement is to display the output by default in Excel format.
    FND_REQUEST.SUBMIT_REQUEST('XDO','XDOREPPB','', '',FALSE,'',
    l_conc_id,554,G_comb_pdr_temp,
    G_comb_pdr_locale,'Y','RTF','',scale_report,'','','','','',
When i saw XML Report Publisher concurrent program, there is one parameter for Output Format and i tried passing 'Excel'/EXCEL/excel to this parameter but output is still coming in PDF format.
    FND_REQUEST.SUBMIT_REQUEST('XDO','XDOREPPB','', '',FALSE,'',
    l_conc_id,554,G_comb_pdr_temp,
    G_comb_pdr_locale,'Y','RTF','Excel',scale_report,'','','','','',
I have also tried giving Default Output to EXCEL in template definition but this is also not working.
    Your valuable suggestions highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Vijay

  • Enhancement Req (v4.0): Report Query- Output Format- Derive from Item

    Brief Introduction
I have 1 major request I would like to make (and 2 lesser ones). The first, I would like to specify custom available output formats for 'Report Query' objects, as well as Reports Regions, Interactive Reports, etc. I believe that this could easily be an instance setting in the Report Server region of the internal workspace, or per workspace / application. Even if not supported on the system wide level, I would recommend that the "Derived from Item" output format "Return Value" be allowed to be returned unaltered to the Report Server. I know that the type is returned as "_xf", and for my purposes I would REALLY like to be able to get something other than the defaults.
    Use Case
I am creating a custom JasperReports integration (for which I will be launching a public SaaS beta extremely soon). It uses the standard Apex reporting objects (Queries, Layouts, Print Buttons, etc). JasperReports templates are uploaded as Report Layouts and everything works fine. I am, however, wanting to implement as many output formats as are available to me in Jasper...that means Word 07, Excel 07, ODS, ODT, etc. For the items that take a print server override I can handle this in other ways (even though this appears broken [see below]), but for the standard report queries this isn't available. I would basically like the option to define the set of available output formats for the report server, and what the "_xf" returned for each one is.
    Minor Requests
    - Replace Uploaded Templates: If a template is used often and updated, then it has to be changed everywhere...minor irritation.
    - Customize Report Server URL for the Workspace or Application: For SaaS instances, workspace developers may license or have access to reporting solutions that are not (and should not be) available to all of the Oracle instance's workspaces, or may conflict with a service that is already provided by the instance administrators.
    Broken
When I use the print server override, with the "Use Headers From" option, it appears that neither my content type, nor my content disposition headers are being sent back to the client. This is the work around solution for the non-standard types issue I am requesting enhancement on, so I would like to know what I can do to get this working immediately.
    Additional Info
As it stands, if the site is available, feel free to sign up for the beta. The beta keys will be exported soon to the instance and made available. Instructions on setup will also follow:
    https://apex.vendelinc.com/apex/f?p=home

Hi, please did you get any solution to this issue? I am having similar challenge right now.
    select     EMP.DEPTNO as DEPTNO,
         DEPT.DNAME as DNAME,
         EMP.EMPNO as EMPNO,
         EMP.ENAME as ENAME,
         EMP.JOB as JOB,
         EMP.MGR as MGR,
         EMP.HIREDATE as HIREDATE,
         EMP.SAL as SAL
    from     SCOTT.DEPT DEPT,
         SCOTT.EMP EMP
    where EMP.DEPTNO=DEPT.DEPTNO
    and      DEPT.DNAME =upper(:dname)
This run perfectly in sql developer, toad, and even inside publisher if I login directly to publisher to create report.
Generating this same query in shared component query builder and testing it returns no data found. If I remove the last line, it works. but with the last line, it return no data found. It seems no one has been able to provide solution to this issue

  • Settings to set default Output Device in FPCJ

    Hi,
System is taking LP01 as default Output Device instead of the custom made Output device(ZLOCL) while executing the Z smartforms using transaction FPCJ.
In user setting I have defaulted ZLOCL as default output device & desired page format type is also assigned to the smartforms.
Is there any other system/config setting to be done to make ZLOCL as default.
    Please advice.
    Thanks in advance
    Sunil

    Sunil,
Check your user profile using tcode SU3 and make sure you do not have LP01 there as your default OutputDevice. If you have it then your printing jobs will default on that.
    I hope this helps you.

  • Change Pick List Output Format with automated Output format  froTO creation

    hi.,
When creating TO for delivery using VL06P or LT03 there is no opportunity to print the Company Custom  Format(X1) of the pick list.
But if it is reprinted in LT31, Print Code X1(Company defined picking list Output format) can be selected. This is our custom formatted TO output format.
The delivery address is on the document, so if X1 format is used with the automated output from TO creation, Warehouse personel will have the Hardcopy of the delivery address.
Question: How can i have the Print Code X1 to default when i am creating delivery using VL06P or LT03.
    All help is much appreciated.

    Hi,
There is requirement in my script that log in language would be english or german and output format would be in german language. How could I do this. Please guide me.
    Regards,
    Ranu

    Hello Ranu,
How do you call the script ?
If you are calling using a z* program, then you can set the language aalso with the OPEN_FORM (LANGUAGE) function module. Always pass this as 'DE'. By default, it will take the log-on language.
If it is standard program and you are assigning the form using some customization, then you may have some option to assign the language aslo.

  • How can i set permanent neat output format

    Hello Experts ;
    Good  Evening !
Always i a, having problem with  table output format.
please provide  permanent  solution for  neat output.
    i am not asking for  following output. i need permanent  solution because every i have to adjust  axx to a 99;
My emp table output looks like  following below
    SQL> column econtact_no format a55;
    SQL> /
EID ENAME           EQUAL      ESALARY         ECITY                EPERK
    ECONTACT_NO
             1 sona            mba        10000           xxxxxxx
             2 maya            mca        15000           xxxxxx
    Thanks !

    Hi,
It looks like you're asking about formatting done by the front end.  How to control that depends on your front end, so say what front end you're using.  (This forum is supposed to be for SQL and PL/SQL language questions, so this may not be the best place to ask this question.)
It looks like you might be using SQL*Plus as your front end.  As far as I know, the default column formats can't actually be changed in any version of SQL*Plus, but you can put changes into LOGIN.SQL scripts, that get run automatically whenever you start a SQL*Plus session, and that may be just as good for your purposes.

  • Change wget output format?

So I've finally switched my pacman configuration to use wget to download packages instead of the default downloader, and it's a lot faster, I'm glad I switched. The only thing that bugs me just a little is the bulky and unnecessary output format of wget. Is there a way I could reconfigure the format to the minimums? For example, just the name of the file, progress bar, time downloading, and speed? I've looked at all the configuration files for wget, and there doesn't seem to be any options to change the format of the output in any way. Any ideas?
    All help appreciated

  • Default output location for Adobe PDF 9.0 printer

    Hi there,
Is there a way on Mac OS 10.6.4 with the Adobe PDF 9.0 virtual printer that I can set a default output location?
For example I want to use the print via AppleScript command, and all printed documents would be output to a folder on the desktop (or another location of my choosing)
I know CUPS-PDF does this, but the file size is huge in comparison to what Adobe PDF 9.0 does.
I've looked through the PPD but can't find anything. This can be done in windows by changing a registry key, but I can't find anything for the Mac OS
Thanks in advance and feel free to ask questions if I haven't been clear enough

If Cups PDF does indeed still work on X.6 the reason for the large size it that they use acrobat version 3 format.
each new version of Acrobat has improved file sizes and compression.
I would simply use cupspdf and open the items in question in Acrobat 9 version and use PDF Optimizer to save in Acrobat 9 format.

  • ME81N - Analysis of Order Values - output format problem

    Hi all,
In transaction ME81N, we are unable to change the output format to a different type of output such as a File Store, Excel file etc.
All the options appear to be greyed out and it defaults only to SAP List Viewer.
Do you know why we are unable to modify this option and whether there is an issue with this? Or whether this is restricted via other means?
    thanks and regards

I think you are looking for diff one
you are having the issue on the first screen it self.
To resolve that issue go to header and click on GOTO-Variants- save as variant
here you will see the std SAP variant SAP&BEWA
    go to the bottom screen
Now scroll down the botton screen where you can find the all the fields you are looking as Protected and hide
uncheck all the filels which you want as protected and hide
and save the variant then go back to ME81N main screen and you will see that selectio is available.
