Default Reports Language

Hi,
I am kinda new to B1 so pardon me if my question is basic.
I installed B1 2007 on an XP machine having its regional options set to English US.
I created a new company supplying Canada as Localization, and English as default Language.
Q1 - Why would all default reports print in French?
Q2 - Is there a way to change them all (to English) in one operation?

I did create a new database using USA as base country, and all templates were initialized correctly.
Now. I remember from my studying path that the choice of Country at the Company (database) creation level also influences others settings as well, such as Tax (VAT vs Tax Group vs Tax Code).
After having created this USA company, I changed the Country field (System Initialization, Company Details, General Tab) to Australia (for instance) and noted that the Tax related fields had not been modified.
Is there a chance that I might loose some important settings in the future if I make an habit of initializing Canadian companies with USA settings?

Access to customizing default: report templates

I seem to remember far back in the corners of my memory, someone here on the forum mentioning that although we didn't have access at the time (probably back at HTMLDB 2.0) to customize the default report templates, that there were plans to make this an option in a future version of Apex. Does anyone have any idea if this is something that is being planned, or better yet, available today?
If you're not sure what I'm talking about I'm referring to the field that says 'Report Template' in the 'Layout and Pagination' section of the 'Report Attributes' page in the application builder.
The problem I'm having is that I'm using the 'default: vertical report, look 2 (show null columns)' report template and I've got some long column headings that I want to include a line break between each word of the heading, so they're stacked vertical instead of wide horizontally. I've add HTML break tags to the headings but they're disappearing when the page is rendered.
I've made sure to set the 'Strip HTML' setting to 'No', but whether it's set to yes or no doesn't matter, the headings display the same either way.
BTW, doing the same thing in a template based multi-row report seems to work fine. However, trying to use/apply the 'Value Attribute Pairs' report template yields the same result as the default vertical look template.
So I have 2 questions:
1) anyone know how I can make these heading words stack up vertically, one word to a line?
2) are we going to get access to customize the default report templates?

Probably the best way to do this is to just hard code
a <br /> between your words.That's exactly what I'm doing (and what I said in my original post), however those breaks are disappearing during page rendering when I choose the report templates I mentioned.
I don't understand why this technique works in the multi-row report templates and not in these vertically oriented value/attribute report layouts.

No, you should just use a regular theme based
template, the default report templates are there for
backwards compatibility and well basically for people
that don't care about the UI. Since your at the point
it seems you do care about UI the proper thing to do
is to move to a standard report template that you
have full control over.Fair enough. I'll look into that, but I think there's still an open question here as to why the HTML breaks aren't being returned in the page markup for these report layouts.

BW Report Language differs EP Logon Language

Hi,
I am using a Portal BW Report iview.
The Portal Logon Language is German ("DE")
SAPSSO2 is used for Single Sign On.
The iview BW Report Language is set to
"sap-language=EN&bsplanguage=EN&..." (BEx Query part)
But the SAP BW system displays the report in "DE" (German, i.e. all english Texts are missing)
In the sniffer trace, I can see that the initial http request is done with "sap-language=DE&.."
Any idea is welcome

We had an Open SAP Call regarding the same issues.
Sap Support suggested to us to implement SPS11 on the BI System to get this solved.They will allow to overwrite the language via query string in SP11 (which also means that you can overwrite it via the respective iView property).
Feedback From SAP Support:
Please understand that SPS11 is a prerequisite for providing this new functionality and we won't be able to downport it to a lower SPS.

Note: once system rebooted, English language should not be selected by default. Previously selected language has to be retained after system rebooting

Users not able to see all the default reports in FDM under analysis

All,
Users in FDM are not able to see all the default reports which will be available under Analysis. I have checked the MenuNavigation and MenuNavigationItems under object maintainence in FDM which have "ALL" as the provisioning level. I am not sure where the issue is as the users still not able to see the reports. Please advise if there is something that can be done in workbench.

You can set security on Report folders in workbench. You would go to the report tab in workbench, and right click on a Folder (Cannot do it on the individual report, it has to be on the folder), and you can assign security levels to the report folder. There are some in here that default to the admin level but you can override it.

Default proofing language has no effect.

Hi.
I'm using Word 2010, and when I click the Spelling & Grammar button, it says the dictionary language is set to French (Canada), even though I've set the proofing language as English (Canada) on default. What can I do to make it proof my documents
in Canadian English?
I live in London, Ontario, so I know it can't be my location that keeps changing it.
Any help would appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,
You should clear the "Detect language automatically" option, in the Language dialog box (Review tab>Language>Set Proofing Language). This will help to prevent Word from changing the language.
Also, when you set the proofing language, do you see the language is preceded by the
Spelling & Grammar icon? If no, it means the dictionary for that language is not available and you cannot check the spelling and grammar for that language (the default proofing language that you set will not be reflected there in this case):

Set Default Report Attributes

Hi,
Is is possible to set the default report attributes for interactive reports so when I create a new one I don't have to go through and change the defaults. Basically I want to set the "Show Null Values as" variable to null rather than a dash for all newly created Interactive Reports, I know I can change the value once the report is created but I'd rather it default to null in case I forget to change it.
I've searched though the interface and OTN with no luck, any ideas?

Standard reports (and hence the evil that is tabular forms) store sort columns persistently as user preferences. The <tt>apex_util.remove_sort_preferences</tt> method can be used to remove them, resetting reports to the default sort order. However this is not a precision instrument: it removes the user's sort preferences for all reports...
It is possible to remove the sort preference for individual reports using the <tt>apex_util.remove_preference</tt> method by reverse engineering the required sort preference name from the admin user preference report.

How to modify a default report in ByDesign / Time series?

Hello everybody,
I am currently working with the HR Dashboard - Employee Time (HCMTLMU01_Q0010) and I am facing a problem with the time series <Year to date>. Actually, this is a problem for all reports with Time Series.
I would like to know if it is possible to delete the Time Series from a default report? Because I cannot find how to do it.
I could also do what I want in another way, by modifying the format of the Time Series. Is it possible or not?
Like changing it from an interval to a fixed date, but keeping the behavior of the criteria from start of the year to current date. But I cannot find how to it neither.
Are these actions possible or I have to go back to the original data sources used by this reports and create my own?
Even if I doubt creating the same report "just" without the time series is not as easy as it sounds.

also can you explain what is the difference between the unit that are used.
the entry screen asks for frames, but if you look at the duration in the effects
edit window the units appear to be min.sec.micros.

SCCM 2012 SSRS modify default reporting Link

Hi,
We have a requirement in SCCM 2012 reporting to change the default reporting link (http://netbiosname/reports ) to (http://fqdn/reports ) , the reason is users from
a different domain are not able to access the link with NetBIOS name when the link is sent to them from a report subscription.
How do we modify the default reporting link to show with FQDN instead of NetBIOS name ?

We have tried to add the FQDN on the SQL SSRS - restarted SQL reporting services - restarted IIS - restarted SMS service , but still the FQDN report link wont show up on the SCCM console.
Also tried to make changes in SSRS config file but now luck.

Please add the FQDN as the screenshot below and remove the existing one. Reinstall the Reporting Services Point after add the FQDN.

RRMX opens a default report. How to change this setting ?????

Hi all,
If we type RRMX transaction code, it should go to BEx, but user has reported that whenever he types RRMX it opens a particular REPORT. How can we change this setting so that the default report will not be opened, PLEASE ? It seems it started after upgrading to BW 3.5.

Thanks for your response. I have created a TEST User Id with the User Id that has the problem. I am not getting any default report with the TEST User Id when I type RRMX, just it goes to BEx (blank) only, but not to the report.
I have followed your navigation steps (Business Explorer Tab/Setting/ New Workbook on embed) with TEST User Id and 'is based on permanent template' is checked' under 'New Workbook on embed', but not 'is empty'.
I will go to the User's desk tomorrow and check the BEx settings on his PC.

Hiding default report parameters in XLS template& password for analyzer

Hi,
I created a xls report in that report i don't have any parameters.But when i open that xls template i am getting the default Report Parameters at the top of the report
with a column1(under this we have a drop down with options All,Top10,Custom...) like this
When i open the Excel Analyzer from xls(Alt+F11) when i double click on the excelAnalyzer its asking password what is the default password??
If any one knows please share it!!

Web Sheets - how to delete a default report

hi,
I have created a websheet data grid with a primary and a few other default reports. I cannot seem to be able to delete a report once created, any hints? checked the OBE and didn't see it, only how to create, not delete report.

Thank you so much for the quick response. Here is the deal, I have a APEX application that is ready to be rolled out across John Fowlers Sun Systems division. It simply tracks source code deposite for all Systems releases to Oracle Manufacturing, this is a legal requirement.
The tool is ready but I am having a very confusing time trying to get the reports to work and get published correctly. I really appreciate your help, I am sure I am just missing a couple items.
So I have added you to the workspace as admin. The workspace is : ESCROW TRACKING APPLICATION
What I am trying to do is delete report number 5. I cannot find the red x you are referring to, please provide exact navigation steps.
I am also trying to add a section to the home page that has a table report. The home page will have two reports, the primary and then an alternative default report which is a table summary with some aggregates and colomn groupings.
The issue is APEX allows me to add the section and the data report and it looks good, the problem is when other uses log in they see the section but it only has a search bar, the actual table does not get displayed.
If easier I can schedule a 20 minute webconference to go over this.
I am emailing you screen shots for all the items above

Changing the default keyboard language for all users via command line

I have about 250 computers, that I set the wrong default language on.
I am hoping someone here can help me. I have 3 keyboard languages installed in my labs,
En-English (United States)
Fr-French (Canada)
En-English (Canada)
I'd like to make the Fr-French (Canada) the default keyboard language for all users that login I have tried the following xml but it's not working. I do not see the problem any help would be appreciated.

Defaulting Communication language for BP

Any idea how default communication language for BPs in CRM 5.0. Please let me know.
I have found lot of threads that speak abt a BAdi..but none of them have mentioned the BAdi name. Please let me know the BAdi.

Hi Sameer,
This is what you need to do :
1. Look at structure BUSDEFAULT. This has some fields that can be defaulted on the BP. If you want to default one of these fields, then
a)create a new Z module , e.eg : Z_bupa_set_default. In this, create a structure of type BUSDEFAULT, fill it with the fields you want and then pass this strucutre to FM BUP_BUPA_FIELDVALUES_SET.
b) Register your Z module in event ISDAT. For this, go to txn BUS7, choose event ISDAT, and register this Z module.
Now, whenever you create a BP in transaction BP, your Z module will be called before preparing the screen and the UI will contain the fields that you filled in the busdefault structure.
In case you need to default a field that isn't present in BUSDEFAULT, you need to make a modification and add that field to the standard structure BUSDEFAULT. This is the only way. It will solve your issue, i 've tried this and verified.

Default English Language

So possibly a very simple question, but it's something I've been unable to get my head around.
I'm from the UK, and have managed to set the preferred langauge to 'British English' under system preferences. There I also noticed US English, Canadian, Australian and so on, but also a form of English described only as 'English'.
My question is, what kind of English is this? All the other English forms have some description (British, US, etc) and seem to cover all the main forms, so what's this one?

These specific language options are not one I see on my mac (purchased in the USA) although I do remember a prompt asking me if I wanted to delete some languages (which I did) so it is possible they were there at one point. Or, perhaps this is something separate for macs purchased outside the US. When a mac is purchased in the US, the default preferred language is "English" (not US English) as stated in this apple article, under Learn how to>Change your OS X language.
