Default saving in Jpg rather than BTM

I scan my ball cards using an HP all-in-one and they save to elements in a bitmap format. I need them to save as Jpg. The scanner defaults are Jpg and HP says it is Adobe Photoshop. Can someone help?

If you're using PSE10, and are scanning from the Organizer, use Edit...Preferences...Scanner to set your file format for saving.

Can I Change SEARCH to default as LIST view rather than GROUPS view?
I always end up doing a command+2 and if I can default this it would be better.
    THANKS

Perform a search, click on the List View icon in the Finder window's toolbar, press COMMAND-J to open the View Options dialog, check the box labeled "Always open in list view."

I solved the problem with the assistance of apple support knowledgebase.  Refer to TS3441.

  • Is there a way to change the default image save to .jpg rather than.bmp?

Currently the default save is a .bmp file.  I do not see a way to change this in the <edit> <preferences> area.  Also is there a way to export/save a designated area on a pdf as a .jpg image file rather than the options given: Word, Exel, Powerpoint, .rtf, html, etc.  I currently have to take a snapshot (often clicking this twice) and then opening it in photoshop, then changing it to black and white (if needed) in order to save it as a .jpg

No, it's not.  But someone has to request it: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform

  • How does one make CC the default out of ACR rather than CC 2014?

I installed the updates for PS CC and PS CC 2014.  Now, when opening a file out of ACR, it defaults to CC 2014.  How does one set things so that it opens in CC rather than CC 2014?

GB has two "modes": In "musical time" the units of the timeline are bars and beats, in "real time", they're seconds. You can switch between them by clicking the clock/note symbols near the play button.
"Snap to grid" only works in the musical time mode.
An Apple Loop is always supposed to be an integer number of measures long. So if you're in 4/4 it can be 1, 2, 3 ... measures (which is 4, 8, 12 ... beats) long. Since the concept of loops is to be in rhythm with the beat of your song, this makes sense - so it is assured that the "one" of a drum loop, e.g., always sits on the "one" of a measure.
If your loop is only half a measure long, you can double it to make a full bar. If your loop is not in rhythm at all with a beat - well, then it probably doesn't make sense to turn it into a loop that adjusts to the tempo in the first place. You can still turn it into a "static" kind of loop.

  • Zoom defaults to zoom out (-) rather than zoom in (+)

A few days ago, while working in Photoshop (CS5), my zoom magnifying glass switched to a minus (zoom out, -) by default rather than a plus (+). I can hit ALT to get it to zoom in (+), but would like to change it back to zoom in (+) as my default. I can't see anything in preferences to fix this. Has anyone got an answer for me on how I can correct this? Please and thank you.

Thank you. That's exactly what it was! I never even noticed those little buttons before.

  • When I open an email with images, Outlook Express keeps defaulting to Internet Explorer rather than FireFox to get the image, since I have IE disabled this means that I see no image. I have FF set as my default browser. Please can you help?

I first noticed the problem 3 months ago when a virus set a proxy on Internet Explorer. Removal of the proxy brought the image back, but this showed that Outlook Express uses IE to get images even when FF is set as default browser

I might be able to experiment with this a little.
Are you running a recent version of Outlook Web App (i.e., Exchange 2010)?
When you save files using IE, what format are they in (e.g., EML, RTF, HTML)?

See Empty/corrupt iTunes library after upgrade/crash or simply import the media folder back into the library. Restoring a recent backup of the .itl database will restore the original date added values, ratings, play counts, playlist membership, etc. that would otherwise be missing from the reimported media.

  • When I am prompted to choose a folder to save downloaded files to, why does 7.0 start the download browser in a random folder rather than the last folder saved to?

When prompted to choose a destination folder for files that I am saving, I have found that 7.0 doesn't always open the file browser with the last folder I saved to. In previous versions, if I saved a jpg to a specific folder, it would open still directing me to that same folder the next time I was prompted. Now, if I am saving a string of images, there is no telling which folder the browser will be opened to when I am prompted. Very annoying to 1) have to figure out where I am in my filing system and 2) have to work my way through god knows how many folders to get back to where I saved the previous file ten seconds earlier. If this is some kind of smart feature that's making suggestions based on file source history or downloading patterns or whatever, can I turn it off? Here's hoping that you can help, because I really want this to be an easy fix rather than a bad version of your otherwise flawless program or worse yet a deteriorating hard drive.

Firefox 11+ versions have support via <b>browser.download.lastDir.savePerSite</b> pref to disable to disable the feature to remember the download directory based upon the URL.<br />
The browser.download.lastDir.savePerSite pref doesn't exist by default (it is hidden).<br />
Create a new <b>Boolean</b> pref with the name <b>browser.download.lastDir.savePerSite</b> and set the value to false.
You may have the clear the "Site Preferences" via Clear Recent History to remove already stored data.

How can I create a slideshow that depicts only a version of a photo rather than the original?   Since the original and new versions are saved together, the aperture slideshow often choices the original rather than the desired version to display.

There are two things we use the name "Slideshow" for in Aperture:  a Slideshow Album, used for making Slideshows, and the Slideshow that is made.  (Imho, it is a design mistake to not call the containers used to create Slideshows, Books, etc., "Albums".)
The Slideshow will use the Album Pick from any Stack.  A good way to use Aperture is to promote the Image you want to regularly use (such as, for example, a Version with adjustments) to the top of the Stack.  This makes it the Stack Pick, and will be the default Album Pick.  If you haven't done that, you can still change the Album Pick for any Stack in a Slideshow Album.  Expand your Stack(s), select the Image in each Stack that you want to be the Album Pick (and thus shown in the Slideshow), and "Stacks➞Set Album Pick".  (Note the keyboard shortcut; there is also a Toolbar icon for this.)  The change is immediate.  The Slideshow will always show the Album Pick (or, if there is not one, the Stack Pick) for every Stack in your Slideshow Album.

  • Saving as JPG - CS5 defaults to PSD, even when flattened

I'm frustrated by this issue and cannot find a solution, I apologize if this has been addressed before but I couldn't find it.
When I go to save an image the "file format" drop down box defaults to PSD every time, rather than the original format of the image. This happens even when the image is flattened and regardless of bit depth.  It doesn't seem like that big of a deal to simply drop down the box & select "JPG" but when you're working hundreds of images it becomes time consuming. Sometimes when I change the format it tells me that I must save it as a copy & automatically adds "copy" to the file name.  I have specific file naming so I have to manually delete this in order to save over the original file.
This is a fairly recent (year or so) issue because I used to be able to use my programmable keyboard to do this and it made things SO fast! Now I'm forced to use the regular keyboard/mouse and it's slowing down my workflow.
    Thanks in advance!

It should default to jpeg if the image was already a jpeg and you flattened the image before trying to save.
You might try resetting the photoshop preferences.
