how do I reset screen size to default size tried all sorts and does not seem to look right
Open System Preferences and select the "Displays" Panel:
Then choose the resolution that looks the best:
Top open Sytem Preferences use the menu item "Apple > System Preferences..."

The default size is not related to the Mac Model, it's related to the OS X version. For Snow Leopard it's 48x48 pixels.
For Lion and Mountain Lion it's 64x64.
You can choose the size that is right for you. I typically use either 32x32 or 36x36. Some prefer larger some prefer smaller. It's up to you.
I've always found the default sizes to be too big for my taste. -

can someone please tell me how to change font size on macbook pro 15 retina... I have this HUGE screen but the font on the screen is SUPER small.... can someone help meSorry, OS X hasn't evolved to a scalable UI type for hard of seeing users. If you drop the resolution your type gets blurry.
However I have two solutions.
1: You hit System Preferences > Accessibility and set a control key for zoom/in out, set the zoom to where the pointer is at and get a third party scroll wheel mouse. This way you hold the control key and can zoom in/out anywhere the mouse is pointed at.
2: You follow my User Tip here and use Firefox with the associated add-ons.
Since Firefox is customizable, your able to create larger menu type and have web pages automatically zoomed (full page, graphics and all) to your minimal needs.
Also FF will remember your window size so your not having to resize that each time you open the program. There is also a Full screen option.
Since web browsing takes up a lot of time on machines, at least you have that part licked. If you use web based email like GMail, since it's in a web browser that is zoomed as well.

Screen sharing setup in 10.5, 10.6 are described by the links by operating system. 10.7 is fairly similar to 10.6.
And if both Macs have Firewire, you can setup a Firewire over IP network for fast communication between machines. Note if you have two different Firewire ports a 6 pin to 9 pin Firewire cable does exist. There are no Firewire to USB cables. -

Unfortunately, there is no answer to this problem via this link. It may be that this is simply how the software actually works. It is a design fault in Adobe Photoshop Elements. It is possible to temporarily hide the dock within 'system preferences'. Oh well. Someone may know better.... I hope!

It doesn't resemble dead pixels I've encountered in the past (it is only visible behind a white or brightly colored background), and I'm positive it isn't sitting on the surface. It is hard to tell exactly what your issue with the MacBook Pro’s display is, but it is possible that there is a pixel anomaly. See this article for further information -

How can I run a second screen from my macbook pro. I run a thunderbolt screen from the thunderbolt port but the port on the thunderbolt screen won't send a signal to the HDMI port (the macbook thunderbolt port sends a signal to the HDTV no problem?

Shift key boots into Safe Mode, not Recovery.
This only works on a Mac running v10.7 Lion or later.
Startup your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys. From there you should be able to access the built in utilities to repair the startup disk and restore OS X using OS X Recovery

I would take your machine into a Apple service center. Its highly likely a hardware issue. The most likely issue being the display has failed. If there is no external damage to the machines display they will replace the whole display under warranty for you.
