Default Sort order for Search and Advanced Search

Does anybody know of any easy way to default search to show results by "last modified date" ?

You might try logging in as the guest user and editing the guest user preferences / search preferences as described by in the earlier posting. Also you can configure search by passing parameters in the URL - should be info about that in here somewhere...

    Hi,
          As per our client requirement, we have removed search and advanced search functionalities in Masthead and those are working fine. But when ever we restarted the portal server, these search options are reappearing in portal.
              I am not getting why it is happening and every time we restarted the server, we are removing these search functionalities from masthead.

                         Problem is not solved. Where can i find the Standard tool area iview used in Default frame work page ?
    At present, we disabeled the search and it's working fine. But when we restart the portal, search is again reappearing and we need to disable that once again.
               Is there any sollution for this problem?? Kindly let me know..

  • Default Sort Order for Library View

    It would be fantastic if there were a user defined preference for a default sort order in Library view. For example, some users may prefer to always view the images by File Name, or Rating, etc, without having to change the sort order for each individual folder they view via Lightroom.

    Thanks for your suggestion Allan, but it doesn't work.
    I'm specifically referring to the defaults that Aperture 3 adopts when you use the "File, Import, Folders as Projects with the projects and albums setting.
    What I'm finding is regardless of the setting in the Library preferences, the default sort order for the project is Date and Manual for the album.
    Yet if I create a project manually the default sort order is as per the Library prefs. Strange.

  • Sort Order for Legend and X Axis

    Does anyone know of a way to keep a specific sort order for both the X Axis and the Legend. Both start with numbers and I can get one or the other to sort correcly on the chart but not both. Biggest problem is not all of the legend items are in the first X Axis item so the colors change on the bar graph depending on the legend items in the first X Axis item.

    If you tie bar colors with values, how you will differentiate the bars for different legends.
    Take an example, there are three columns Employee, Location and salery have following values
    Employee Location Salery
    A London 30000
    B Chicago 40000
    C London 50000
    D Chicago 60000
    if we keep Location as Legend and Employee in X Axis, and sort Legend first then Employee. Set Blue for Chicago and Red for London, First two blue bars for A and C will be displayed and then two red bars for B and D will be displayed. Order in X axis will be A,C,B and D. This is not in sequence but this is the way it will and it should work. If you sort by Employee instead if Location, you will get sequence in X axis, but the same colored bars wont be together.

    This is driving me nuts, having to change the sort order from manual to file name every time I change projects or folders (and I have a lot of both). Is there a way to set the default to just sort by file name ascending? Or sort by timestamp (that's date + time, not just date)?

  • How to Change String Default Sort Order for Table?

    I have a RichTable with SortableModel, but all string properties sort as follows:
    AAAAAA
    ZZZZZZ
    aaaaaa
    bbbbb
    zzzzzz
    As you can see upper case is before lower case, however I know I'm going to be told that they need to be like this:
    AAAAAA
    aaaaaa
    bbbbb
    ZZZZZZZ
    zzzzz
    Is there a way I can change / override how this sorts?

    So I think you are saying that I need to create my own wrapper class for String. Then override the compare and equal methods and return this class in my getters and setters?
    Or is there a way to tell the String class to use a different method for sort since it would be a global change?

    If you need to remove the search view from the Portal page then you can do the following.
    Go to Content Administration -> Portal Content -> Content Provided by SAP -> End User Content -> Standard Portal Users
    In this select the Default Framework page , open it.
    Select the Tool Area and click on properties.
    In the properties change the value to NO for Enable KM Search & Enable KM Search Advanced properties.
    This is the simplest way you can remove the whole search area.
    *There is one more way to remove the search *
    If you want to remove the whole search, you can achieve this just by changing the com.sap.portal.toolAreaiView property "Enable KM Search". Just set the Property to NO.
    If you want to remove only the search Button you have to edit the file "ToolAreaiView.jsp" from the PAR-File com.sap.portal.navigation.toolarea.par. Copy this file under your own namespace, unpack and remove the line:
    <td nowrap> <%=searchButtonTextStr%> </td>
    from the jsp-file. Redeploy this par file, create a new toolAreaiView based on the portal component in the PAR and integrate this iView in your frameworkpage.
    Unfortunately, it's not possible to do this using the Theme Editor.

  • Default column sort order for 11g table

    Could anyone give me some indication on how I would go about setting the default sort order for a table?
    I have a table with a few columns, and dataset returns in a particular order, but my table decides to sort if in any given order until I manually click on the column header and sort it.
    I would like to have it done by default on a particular field.

    As Chris says, the easiest way and best re-use way is to use the order-by clause in your underlying model layer SQL query. For instance in ADF BC this would be in a View Object's query.
    However as you haven't dictated your model layer technology, there is another way in JDev 11g. In your web page that contains the ADF Faces RC table, select the binding tab at the bottom of the page, then double click on the iterator in the binding page, and in the Edit Iterator Binding dialog, select the Sort Criteria tab. This allows you to override the sort order on the iterator's columns.

    We're generating a Simplified Chinese WebHelp system using Robohelp 10 and we need to change the sort order in the Search results so that it follows the pinyin order instead of "Y, Z, M, T" (Referring to 仪,准,美,通). Is there a way to do this?

    The idea is to use the sort order for Japanese by specifying the following in the IX reference page.

  • Want to change the default sort order of a Advanced table

    Hi all ,
    Hope all of you doing good.
    I am trying to change the deafult sort order of a " View Applicants" advanced table on Irecruitment selfservice page , using personalization feature but its not sorting as expected.
    The default sort order is asc by the name of the applicants. I wanted to override it by " Date Applied " desc using personalizing the advanced table.
    But its not sorting by Date applied and still shows the sort by applicant name.
    Any inputs will be greatly helpful
    I am using the Oracle Apps 11.5.10 version.

    Hey guys m I got the answer for the below question.
    Oracle have few Restriction and limitation on such Advanced table in sorting the data,
    Few of them are as mentioned below ...
    1. Sorting is not allowed for tables that allow inserts.
    2. Sorting is not supported for tables containing updateable columns
    3. Sorting is disabled when the Select column is checked for a row in a table or when Hide/Show is present in a table.
    Because of the above limitations , we cannot sort or override the existing alphabetical name sort order to Date applied sort order on the View Applicant advanced table.
    You can observe that , View Applicant page is having an option called "Update Status" which allow us to update applicant’s status or rating in the Advanced table.
    On such updatable advanced tables, oracle does not allow us to override the sort order on any of the table columns.
    Keeping it in a nutshell , I can say it's does not allow us to change the sort order of the view applicant advanced table ( which is having updateable columns ) to sort them in Date applied instead of Name( which is default ).

    By default, the KM iViews we're using sorts the documents within a folder based on the filename in descending order.  Is there a way that I can change the default sort order to be the Modified Column in reverse chronological order?
    Any help on this matter is appreciated.

    This can be done in the colection renderer of the iview's layout set. Simplye enter the property you want to sort on in 'Property for Sorting' field and 'Sorting Mode' as descending or ascending.
    The 'sorting Mode' option is only visible in the advanced mode.

    I want to have an unbound string item in my form and allow users to use advanced search and quick search on that item.
    I read the following post About advanced search and added a transient
    item on view object and overrode the advance search method in application module and realized that the value of that string was
    added to arguments.
    Then I decided to add this transient item on entity object instead of view object so that we were able to add the item in one place and
    use it in several view objects. I added an item in the entity and unchecked the persistent flag but I can't set queryable flag since it was disable.
    I added the item in the view object and by use of application definition I forced the item to be shown in the advance search.
    I generate the application and the item was shown correctly in the advanced search but when I set the item in advanced search its value
    was not sent to advance search method.
    Is it a bug ? (value of the field in the advanced search section was not sent to advanced search method )
    Is it a way to add a queryable transient item in the entity object and still benefit from overriding advanced search method ?
    I am using Jdeveloper 10.1.3 and Jheadstart 10.1.3.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Navid,
    JHeadstart checks whether the attribute definition is queryable before adding it to the list of advanced search attributes. A transient VO attribute can still be set to queryable, for a transient EO attribute this is not possible. We will remove this check on queryability in the upcoming patch release, since you have a valid use case. For now, you can subclass JhsSearchBean and override method createArgumentListForAdvancedSearch and comment out the check for "def.isQueryable()".

    It seems that if I specify the sort order for Simplified Chinese (pinyin) on the reference page,
    index entries that start with "i" and "v" are not shown under their corresponding group titles.
    (I assume that this may be due to the fact that pinyin words never start with these letters.)
    If I have an entry that starts with an English word like "IP," it appears under the "J" group.
    I want the entry to appear under the "I" group. How can I do this?

    Can anyone please let me know whether oracle uses any default sort order or not when executing an sql which does not have any sort order/ order by clause?
    I have a sql query where no sort order is specified.
    Now if I add some more columns in the select clause and execute the same query, the number of records returned are same and also the records are same.
    But the order in which they are displayed is different from the previous query.
    Could anyone please let me know whether oracle uses any default sort order or not when executing an sql which does not have any sort order/ order by clause
    or does it depend on the columns of the table?

    To answer your direct question "why the order in the previous example differ".
    When you added additional columns to the select list, that changed the query plan generated for the query. This caused Oracle to pick up the rows in a different order. There are a number of reasons this could happen, the new selected columns caused a different index (or no index) to be used for one of the tables in the query, it caused a different table to be be used as the "driving" table (i.e. the first one accessed), it caused a different join method to be used.

    I am trying to enable Multiple search on a particular field in the advanced search for that PCUI application. E.g Search for Opportunities with Partner P1 and P2.
    When i perform the search the results show me all opportunities with partner P1 OR Partner P2. So i get all opportunities which belong to partner either  P1 or P2 or both
    I want to view all opportunities with partner P1 AND P2 i.e i want to search only for those opportunities that have both P1 and P2 in it
    Is there anyway we can achieve this

    The MAC for the the advanced search in opportunities (application CRMD_BUS2000111) is CL_CRM_BSP_AM_HEADME_1O.
    Create a Z MAC inheriting from this MAC and redefine the method IF_CRM_BSP_MODEL_ACCESS_IL~QUERY.
    In you redefined method, you can for example first call the ‘super’ query method and do your own additional selections after.
    The FM used for the standard query is CRM_BSP_OIC_1O_SEARCH_FROM_RF.
    You can maybe also check how this FM is called and make you own call of this FM.
