Default text in iphoto

My photo album is in french but I keep getting a default text box even after I changed my language setting to french. If I continue and purchase the album
some text will not appear in the photo album. What am I missing?

Have you previewed your book? See: iPhoto, Aperture: Previewing an order in iPhoto or Aperture
Your book will be printed exactly as you are seeing in the preview.
but I keep getting a default text box even after I changed my language setting to french.
The default text boxes are inserted by iPhoto to show you what your own text will look like. You are supposed to erase that text and to replace it by your own captions. Any text  that you do not replace will be omitted in the final print.

  • Default text on iphoto products

I'm trying to buy a Photo Book on iPhoto.
But when I try to buy the book it tells me that 'Your book appears to have default text that has not yet been edited. Printed books will not include this text. Do you want to continue with your order?'
I have changed every bit of text and am happy with what I have. Now I'm nervous about buying the book in case this does happen, why doesn't it tell you what you need to edit????
    Pleae help   :-(

    moody,
the default texts will be in latin, like "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet,"
If you do not see any latin, there may be text boxes occluded by pictures, but that will not matter, since the default text will not be printed. To get rid of the warning, replace any default latin text you are seeing by a blank character.
However, be sure to preview your book and to check he formatting carefully. The preview will show you exactly what will be printed.  See:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040
And save the resulting PDF file for future refeence - just in case.

  • Why do I get a Default text message?

I have created a book using iPhoto.
When I click on "Buy Book" is get the following message:
"Your book appears to have default text that has not yet been edited.
Printed Books will not included this text"
I do not want to order book if it returns with missing text. Can anyone help solve this problem?

    Hi Gary,
the message means that one one/some of your pages you did not change the default text that iPhoto had there (placeholder text so you know where you could add text).
go through all your pages where there is text and make sure you added your own. iPhoto is also telling you that if you did not change the default text to your own, then you don't have to worry because the default text will not be printed in your book.

  • Iphoto book default text Question

I have completed a Iphoto book and when I select "Buy book" in Iphoto a box appears and says "Your book appears to have default text that has not been edited. Printed books will not include this text. Do you want to continue?" What does this mean?

text boxes include Latin looking default text - this message means that in the book you have a text block with no text entered and as it says. it will not be printed  --  it is a warning not a fatal error and you can still order - but be sure to preview first as the printed book will match the preview

  • When I click "Buy Now" in iPhoto's book I get the following message: Your book appears to have default text that has not been edited. Printed books will not include this text. Do you want to continue?"

When I click "Buy Now" in iPhoto's book I get the following message: "Your book appears to have default text that has not been edited. Printed books will not include this text. Do you want to continue?"
How do I proceed?  How do I identify which is "default text?"

What version of iPhoto are you using?
Go thru each page, check the layout to see if there's a text box included on the page and make sure there is text in that text box.  If not it may show the "holding" text like this:
If you don't want to change the page layout to one that only has photos and no text boxes just select that holding text and put a space in its place.

  • When I click Buy Book this appears our book appears to have default text that has not been edited. Printed books will not include this text. Do you want to continue? will the text I have sellected still be ok or will the book have missing text help Pleas?

I just spent 3 days creating a book [32 pages], with photos and text but when I click Buy Book In iPhoto this appears>
Our book appears to have default text that has not been edited. Printed books will not include this text. Do you want to continue?
My question is will the text I have sellected to use still be ok, am I safe to continue and buy or will the book have missing text ?
The book is for special birtday in 2 weeks time  Please Help.G
    <Email Edited by Host>

Yes, you're safe to continue.  That means that there are text boxes that you did not put any text into and they contain the holding text which will not be printed.  That text is shown in a light grayt and is in Latin.  Normally you can just put a space in the text box to replace the holding text so as not to get that warning message.
Before ordering the book proof the book according to this Apple document: iPhoto, Aperture: Previewing an order in iPhoto or Aperture. Check the pdf file for any missing text or photos and any warning indicators in the text boxes indicating that some of the text has exceeded the space allotted in the text box.
Keep the pdf file to compare with the printed copy when you reciive it.

How can I fix the text in my photo book that reads"your default text had not been edited. Printed books will not include this text?"

You will get this warning, if your book includes textboxes that still include the default text, like "Insert Title". You need to find these boxes and add your own text.  Look for boxes like this:
Make a PDF-preview of your book and look, where the preview differs from what you are seeing in iPhoto.

  • Default Text Error

    Hi,
I am trying to get a book printed and all my photos and text are in (I did not change the font or anything, just left everything default), but when I click on the Buy Book button I get the following message:
    Default Text
Your book appears to have default text that has not yet been edited. Printed books will not include this text. Do you want to continue wit your order?
Is this saying that if I continued with my order, only the photos will appear in the book and not the text at all? If so, how do I go about fixing this? I have the most recent version of iPhoto (6.0.6).
    Thanks!

    HI:
That's just telling you that you haven't taken advantage of all the text boxes that are available in the book. When you ignore that message you'll get just blank page where the unused text boxes are located. Your other text will be printed.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • DEFAULT TEXT!!!!!

I created 2 books in iphoto 6.05. Both books have the exact same cover. I can submit one to buy without a problem. But the other book gives me a "default text" error when I try to buy it. I know its not from any other pages. If i delete the text, I can procede with the purchase. I get the same results with the pdf, one looks good, one has missing text. This is driving me nuts!!!!

    Tim:
Can you quote the exact warning that you get? One warning tells the user that there are some text boxes that have not been used just in case the user has forgotten to enter in all of them. That warning can be ignored and you can continue on with the purchasing process. Let us know exactly what the warning says and we can go from there.
    Do you Twango?

  • I am trying to make a Birthday card for my sons 2nd birthday, and It keeps saying both about the "default text" and now that it wont fit on the paper. but everything seems fine....HELP???

    please help!

Are you using iPhoto '11 on a Mac?
Try to print your Card (using the main menu bar "File > Print" or save the printed version to pdf.
Then you can check, which text still is default. The default text will be missing from your print - see for example the screenshot below. Also you can check the measurements on your printed copy. In the print menu you can use the arrow buttons to step through the pages of your card.

  • What is default text?

when i make a book in iPhoto, there is a message that pops up that says :
"Default text, book appears to have default text that has not been edited. Printed books will not include this text. do you want to continue?"
    What does that mean?
I have the book as i want so is it saying it will be printed in a way other than what i have put in?

That message means, that your book still contains text that has been added automatically (lore ipsum...) and will not be included in the final product.
Check the preview of your book carefully. The book will be printed exactly as the preview from the "Print Book" page shows, see: Previewing an order

    Hi,
please don't double post and instead continue with your original threat. In the previous post you got the correct answer to use skinning. You did not like the solution as it doesn't allow per-instance titles. I agree with this and a logical consequence is to file an enhancement request instead of re-posting the question. I'll file the ER, so no need to follow up for you anymore

  • How to change the default text style?

The MacOS system seems to maintain a collection of text 'styles' available in applications such as TextEdit, Bean, MacJournal, Notebook and DevonThink. This collection contains a default style, used by some (but not all) of these applications as the default text style for new documents.
At my computers this default style is characterized in the 'favorite styles' panel as 'left aligned, spacing 0.0x' and it has strange tab stops (0.99, 1.98, 2.96, 3.95, 4.94, 5.93, 6.91, 7.90, 8.89, 9.89, 10.86, 11.85 cm).
I prefer tab stops at 1.00, 2.00, 3.00 etc., and 1.2x line spacing.
I guess I have changed the default style by accident, as I cannot imagine Apple putting such strange tab stops in a default style (0.0x spacing sounds a bit strange too). If so, it must somehow be possible to change the default style.
I have tried to change the default style via TextEdit (which does not use the default style as default, but spacing 1.0x and tab stop at each centimeter) and several other applications (Bean, MacJournal, Notebook) in the following way: select a piece of text with the intended format, open the document styles panel, click 'Add to Favorites', enter 'Default' as the name for the style and click 'Replace'. Unfortunately, that doesn't work. Although I do not get an error message, the Default style hasn't changed. I can save my preferred style as, for example, 'Preferred' but that does not prevent MacJournal and other applications from using Default for every new document.
Any idea how to change this default style, or, if that is not possible, reset it to its original state?

I suggest you have a look at [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/stationery/?src=api Stationery].
It won't help you in defining styles, as such, but will give you templates wherein you can set up styles.

  • How to change default texts in OSX dialogue windows?

I'd like to change some of the texts that appear in the OSX dialogue boxes.
One example: I have set my Mac up to ask for the password after N minutes of sleep. I would like to change the text in the box/window that appears when the Mac is woken up and where you are told to submit your ID and password (I'm sorry that I am not sure what exactly it says in English because I'm using another language).
The closest thing to what I need I have come across is this:
sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginwindow LoginwindowText 'Hands off'
However, this applies only to the first login window you see after you have started the computer. I'd like to change other default texts as well.
The default texts in different languages must be stored somewhere. How do I find them and how do I chage them? Any advice would be appreciated.

It seems like the same problem as would be faced by someone localizing the OS, so perhaps there would be something useful here:
