Default today's date

Hi,
we are using CRM 4.0 and need to default in today's date in the 'Reference Date' field of the Repairs screen.
The field is CRMT_6100_SERVICE_COMP_UI-EXT_REF_DATE
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Aidan.

Olivier,
I also needed that, but could not find a way to make it in 9.0.2. So, I gave up. If you find a solution, please share with us. Thanks.

  • How can I use today's date as default value in query string filter web part in SharePoint

    I have a query string filter on my web part page. I am trying to figure out how I can set it's default value to Today? I can't find anything online...

    Hi,
    Per my understanding, you might want to set a default value to the Query String Filter Web Part.
    It would not be able to set default value to the Query String Filter Web Part with the OOTB features available.
    By default, with a Query String Filter Web Part in the current page, we can filter other web part in the same page by adding parameters and values in the address bar
    of browser.
    If setting the “Query String Parameter Name” of a Query String Filter Web Part as “t”, then we can filter the corresponding connected web part by inputting such an
    URL into the address bar:
    http://sharepoint/SitePages/Page1.aspx?t=value1
    Suppose you want to filter the list view with a value dynamically when user opens this page, as a workaround, we can generate an URL with the parameters needed when
    page loaded, then redirect user to this URL afterwards. This can be achieved using JavaScript.
    About how to redirect user to other page with an URL:

  • How to set default date of 3 weeks(21 days) from today's date during page load?

    I want to show the default date as 3 weeks from today's date during page load.
    For example ,i have given as adf.CurrentDate + 21 in EO for the attribute 'DueDate'. But it is showing me the date as 9.7.2013. 3 weeks default date is not getting set.If i give adf.currentDate also ,it not giving me today's date,it showing the 9.7.2013 only.Kindly provide your suggestions to set the default date as 3 weeks from today's date during page load.Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    when you set the value on the entity level then you don't want to show it during page load but when the field is empty ? Correct? if so then the use case is a different one. The easiest way to implement this would be to create a Rowimpl class (Java option) and then in the get method of the entity attribute check if the value is null and if it is, set it to the current date + 21 days. This way all rows will be set with the 3 weeks due date but fields are not overridden each time the row is queried

  • Today's date as default value for a parameter

    Hello,
    I am using Disco Plus 10g and Disco Viewer 10g.
    I would like to default a parameter date to the current today's date. This date should be modified by the user (under Viewer), when he/she runs the report.
    Is there a way to do this ?

  • Default value for date

    Hi experts,
    I want to set default value for dates..
    My screen has : date_from & date_to.
    date_to : will be current date(today's date) if Eg: 27.08.2007 (here i used NOW())
    then date_from must be 01.06.2007 (3 months logic)
    similarly : if date_to is 01.01.2007
    then date_from must be 01.11.2006
    kindly help...
    Thanks a lot!!!
    Regards,
    Bijal

    Hi Bijal
    (DGET(NOW(),'D'))-1) returns number which is 0 incase of 01.08.2007, so DADD(NOW(),-0,'D') is again ideally same day 01.08.2007 .
    So, DADD(DADD(NOW(),-0,'D'),-2,'M') should give you 01.06.2007.
    <b> IT WORKS!!! -
    I have tested it now.</b>
    Please check and revert.
    The IF formula which sent actually returns String, so use DVAL(IF(DGET(NOW(),'D')!=1,DADD(DADD(NOW(),-((DGET(NOW(),'D'))-1),'D'),-2,'M'),DADD(NOW(),-2,'M')))

  • How to set default value to date type attribute.

    Hi,
    How to set default value to date type attribute.
    E.g I want to set u201C01/01/1999u201D to date attributes.
    First i want to set value and then i want to fetch the same & want to check equals.
    please suggest solution.
    Regards,
    Smita

    Hi,
    In wdinit() method u can set the date
    DateFormat df = new SimpleDateFormat("MM/dd/yyyy");
    Date today = Calendar.getInstance().getTime();
    String reportDate = df.format(today);
    wdContext.currentContextElement().setFromDate(reportDate);
    Another way you have set the this formate like that
    1. Create a Simple type under "Dictionaries->SimpleType" called DateFormat
    2. Select the type as "date"
    3. Go to the "Representation" tab and set the format as "dd/MM/yyyy" (or whatever u want, but month should be MM)
    4.Bind the context attribute to the type created now.
    Hope this helps u.
    Best Regards

  • Field Update workflow action - Updating today's date into a field

    Hello there.
    I was hoping someone might be able to help with an error currently being experienced with regards to this workflow action.
    The requirement is for a workflow rule to action the printing of today's date into a custom field on an Activity record. The workflow rule condition is (PRE('<Status>') <> 'Completed') AND ([<Status>] = 'Completed'). This appears to be working and triggering the action correctly.
    The custom field to be updated is of type 'Date'. The value being updated into this field is 'Today()'. Overwrite existing values is checked.
    The default value for the field is also 'Today()'. Thus the workflow action involves overwriting the default value (i.e. the date the record was created) to the current date when the Status is switched to completed.
    When the workflow is triggered the following error message occurs:
    "Unable to evaluate workflow rule for the following reason:
    Update [Custom field name] : The value '01/18/2008' cannot be converted to a date time value. (SBL-DAT-00359) (SBL-ODS-00500)"
    One odd observation is that this error only occurs when trying to update activities that were created on previous days - (it will not overwrite the default value of 15/01/2008 with 18/01/2008). The workflow does not return an error message when asked to overwrite a value which is equal to itself (i.e. if the default value was 18/01/2008, the workflow runs without error, although the value stays the same as you would expect.)
    Can anyone shed any light on this? One potential thought is that our CRM is set up so that all dates appear in a different format - i.e. dates appear as dd/mm/yyy, rather than mm/dd/yyyy. Could this be contributing to this issue?
    Any help very much appreciated indeed.
    Thanks,
    Kieran
    ps. The reason for doing all this is that 'Completed date' for an activity does not appear in reporting. This has been raised with Oracle and apparently an 'enhancement request' has been registered.

    Guys,
    using the following statement, it does display the current system time
    Mid(Timestamp(),4,2)+'-'+Mid(Timestamp(),1,2)+'-'+Mid(Timestamp(),7,4)+' '+Mid(Timestamp(),12,8)
    Now When i do this , it displays me a time which is 3 hours ahead
    Mid(Timestamp(),4,2)+'-'+Mid(Timestamp(),1,2)+'-'+Mid(Timestamp(),7,4)+' '+Mid(Timestamp() + (3.0/24.0),12,8)
    My problem is to now display the difference of the current time stamp and the the time which shows 3 hours ahead in one field
    Thats is substracting the first timestamp syntax fro mthe second timestamp syntax
    and ofcourse if I copy paste both the syntaxes and put a minus sign in between, it doesnt work
    Timestamdiff is not allowed in workflows or field validations :(
    Anyone has any ideas?

  • Get today's date?

    I have an XML dataset that shows a schedule of events.  My page uses a yui calendar widget to get the events for specific selected days.  On load, the page shows all "events" that are listed in the XML file.  I am trying to set up a filter that will only show the events for today and days after today, on loading.  How do you set a variable to have the value of today's date, without explicitly typing in "10/30/2009?"  I don't want to call the filterData() function, because I still want to see what was scheduled in the past by selecting the dates in the calendar.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
    Here is my code for attaching the event highlighting to the YUI calendar.  It is triggered via an observer everytime the SpryData region markup containing the event tooltips is regenerated on my first tab.  I've also include the code I wrote for adding tooltips based on SpryData. Note I amended the Sprytooltip.js dataset to speed up the rendering based on the tip Arnout gave me
    One thing I do which is not the default for YUI calendar is I namespace my calendar so I can access it whilst doing my Spry stuff.
    YAHOO.namespace("cal");
    YAHOO.cal.yuicalendar1 = new YAHOO.widget.CalendarGroup("yuicalendar1","yuical1group", {PAGES:12,START_WEEKDAY:1});
    var myObserver = new Object;
    myObserver.onPostUpdate = function(notify, data)
    // Get Spry Data into rows variable
    rows = Events.getData();
    // Yahoo YUI stuff
    YAHOO.cal.yuicalendar1.removeRenderers();
    for (var i = 2; i < rows.length; i++)
      // Convert in date format range that yui calendar recognises
      var s = new Date(rows[i]["StartDate"]);
      s = s.getMonth() + 1 + '/' + s.getDate() + '/' + s.getFullYear();
      var e = new Date(rows[i]["EndDate"]);
      e = e.getMonth() + 1 + '/' + e.getDate() + '/' + e.getFullYear();
      var cald = s + '-' + e;
      // Add highlight to range of cells
      YAHOO.cal.yuicalendar1.addRenderer(cald, YAHOO.cal.yuicalendar1.renderCellStyleHighlight1);
        // Now add tool tips
    // Build array of contiguous dates based on HMC events
    // Now cycle through HMC events
      eventDates = [];
      for (var r=2;r<rows.length;r++)
        startDate = new Date(rows[r]["StartDate"]);
        endDate = new Date(rows[r]["EndDate"]);
        while (startDate <= endDate)
         startDatestr = todayFormat(startDate);
           eventDates[startDatestr] = r;
         startDate.setDate(startDate.getDate() + 1);
    // cycle through each of the 12 months.
    for (var c=0;c<=11;c++)
        addTipFast(c);
    // now render
    YAHOO.cal.yuicalendar1.render();
    function addTipFast(c)
       // reference to calendar
       var calDate = new Date();
       var cal = YAHOO.cal.yuicalendar1.pages[c];
       var calID = cal.id;
       var calDates = cal.cellDates
       var selector = 'table#' + calID + ' td[class~="calcell"]'
       // return array reference to table cells that make up calendar
          tds = Spry.$$(selector);
       // Search for match on event table
         for (var r=0;r<calDates.length;r++)
        tYear = calDates[r][0];
        tMonth = calDates[r][1];
        if (tMonth == 0)
         tMonth = 12;}
       else
        tMonth = tMonth - 1;
        tDate = calDates[r][2];
        calDate.setFullYear(tYear,tMonth,tDate);
        nDate = todayFormat(calDate);
        if (eventDates[nDate] > -1)
         toolid = 't' + eventDates[nDate];
         var myele = new Array;
         myele[0] = tds[r];
         var t = new Spry.Widget.Tooltip(toolid,myele,{offsetY:25});
    Spry.Data.Region.addObserver("tooltips", myObserver);
    The tooltips is a div region containing all my tooltips for the calendar and generated from my SpryData Events data
    <div id="tooltips" spry:region="Events">
            <div spry:repeat="Events" id="t{ds_RowNumber}" class="tooltipContent hide"> {Title} </div>
          </div>
    I generate a unique id for each tooltip that I can use with the tooltip widget when attaching the triggers from the calendar as above. It uses the spry data row number to achieve this.
    Hope this helps you with your highlighting and tooltips if you want them. Note I ignore my first two events for highlighting as their start and end dates spans years and just represent club stuff that happens every week. Otherwise initialise your i variable with var i = 0; in the loop.
    Just noticed if I use the calendar nav controls it drops the tooltips.  I'll need to add a YUI render event notifier to pick that up.
    Cheers
    Phil

  • Today's date in mm-dd-yyyy format

    Hi,
    The default date format in my case is yyyy-dd-mm. I want to pass today's date in the format mm-dd-yyyy to a FM in R3. I have gone through many threads but most talk about changing the format from date to string and vice-versa. Others say that we can pass the date in any format and R3 would take care of that. But in my case, these solutions have not helped. I tried converting todays date to string and then string to date in the req format using SimpleDateFormat class but it throws an exception. Would really appreciate if someone could send me a piece of code to address this issue.
    Regards,
    Prathamesh

    Hi Prathamesh,
    I have faced similar problem. Please try this simple solution. Suppose your date is in format yyyy-dd-mm. If it is in string format, then its ok, otherwise first convert it to string using toString() function as shown below. After that try using the code which I have given below. The only thing that is required to be done after that is the input parameter of your FM must be of string type. Once that is done, pass new_date as input parameter to your FM.
    <b>        String temp_date = date.toString();
         String temp_day = temp_date.substring(5,7);
         String temp_month = temp_date.substring(8,10);
         String temp_year = temp_date.substring(0,4);
         String new_date = temp_day"-"temp_month"-"temp_year;</b>
    Let me know if you have any other query.
    Bye

  • Defaulting the Document date to system date while GR cancelation via MIGO

    I'd love to be able to see today's date better on my iCal. I know other people had requested the ability to be able to set the dimness or density of the color of our today, but there still doesn't seem to be a way, and, if anything, it looks even dimmer in Snow Leopard. Is there someway to fix this?

  • Clearing today's date otherwise insert today's date

    Sorry for the bad title. I'm trying to insert today's date by default, but I want the user to be able to change it. If they leave the field blank, I want acrobat to reinsert today's date. What's wrong with my code?
    var val = this.getField('Day').value;
    var today = util.printd("d", new Date());
    if( val == today)
        val = "";
    if( val = "" )
        val = util.printd("d", new Date());
    this.getField('Day').value = val;

        OnFocus -> Run a Javascript
    if( this.getField("Month").value == util.printd("mm", new Date()) )
        this.getField("Month").value = "";
         OnBlue -> Run a Javascript
    if (this.getField("Month").value == "")
        this.getField("Month").value = util.printd("mm", new Date());
        OnFocus -> Run a Javascript
    if( this.getField("Year").value == util.printd("yyyy", new Date()) )
        this.getField("Year").value = "";
         OnBlue -> Run a Javascript
    if (this.getField("Year").value == "")
        this.getField("Year").value = util.printd("yyyy", new Date());

  • How to use GregorianCalendar to get today's date?

    I am using the following code to get today's date? I'm curious whether there is a direct way for GregorianCalendar to get today's date?
    Thanks,
    java.util.Date today = new java.util.Date();
    Calendar cal_today = new GregorianCalendar();
    cal_today.setTime(today);
    System.out.println(" month = " + cal_today.get(Calendar.MONTH));
    System.out.println(" day = " + cal_today.get(Calendar.DAY_OF_MONTH));
    System.out.println(" year = " + cal_today.get(Calendar.YEAR));

    If you mean construct it with todays date and time, sure. Just call the contructor with no arguments. According to the API...Constructs a default GregorianCalendar using the current time in the default time zone with the default locale.

  • Af:chooseDate always shows wrong selection (today's date)

    Hi,
    I'm using 10.1.3.3. I think that the af:chooseDate component has a serious usability problem: it's always showing today's date as currently selected, although the related af:selectInputDate component is refreshed correctly. This is true even:
    - after any number of clicks (selections),
    - after changing the month back and forth,
    - when using different types (Date, Calendar, String) of bound variables (e.g. in a session bean),
    - when the bound variable has a default value,
    - when triggering additional PPR refresh event for the component (just to be sure that it's refreshed).
    Does anybody have any ideas how to make it work correctly? This behaviour is very confusing for the users and I really need to use this component instead of a popup window offered by af:selectInputDate.
    Thanks in advance,
    Patrik

    Frank, I think that's just another description of the problem. Though it does not have a state, it knows about the input field - so the selection should be refreshed via PPR or JavaScript. In case anybody is interested, here is the JS i wrote to solve this.
    // Mark clicked day as selected in an af:chooseDate component
    function markClickedDayAsSelected(e) {
        var eventSourceElement;
        if(e==null) {
            eventSourceElement = event.srcElement; //IE
        else {
            eventSourceElement = e.target; //FF
        if (eventSourceElement.className != "x4r" && eventSourceElement.nodeName == "A") {
            var days = document.getElementById("formId:chooseDateId").getElementsByTagName("tbody")[0].getElementsByTagName("tr")[1].
    getElementsByTagName("td")[0].getElementsByTagName("table")[0].getElementsByTagName("tbody")[0].getElementsByTagName("span");
            for (var i=0; i<days.length; i++) {
                var d = days;
    if (d.className=="x4r") {
    // Move innerHTML outside of SPAN.x4r (into A) and remove SPAN.x4r
    var newInner = d.innerHTML;
    var appendToNode = d.parentNode;
    appendToNode.innerHTML=newInner;
    break;
    // Move innerHTML into a new SPAN.x4r inside A
    var newSpan = document.createElement("span");
    newSpan.className="x4r";
    var inner = eventSourceElement.innerHTML;
    newSpan.innerHTML=inner;
    eventSourceElement.innerHTML="";
    eventSourceElement.appendChild(newSpan);
    Regards,
    Patrik
