Default trouble in 6.0

I have always used the Reader exclusively. Recently I had the need to convert word files to PDF. I installed Adobe Acrobat 6.0 professional and was able to convert documents easily. Now I have two problems. I cannot view the new PDF in Read mode on 6.0 Pro and everything I try to open on the web in PDF automatically opens 6.0 and displays it here, after an error message "The adobe acrobat/reader that is running cannot be used to view PDF files in a web browser. Please exit and try again" If you hit Okay to try again, the message comes up again, but the 6.0 opens the document. Short of uninstalling Acrobat 6.0 Pro and just living with my Acrobat reader 8.15, I don't know what to do. I would like to keep both on the computer and use 6.0 to create documents and Reader to read ALL documents that I try to open from the web. HELP!!!!

You are in the area of problems that are the reason that Adobe does not recommend installing both the Reader and Acrobat. It can be made to work in most cases, but you will always have to be prepared for those times when it does not. As for the viewing in Reader, try opening Reader before you start surfing the web. At least that should bring things up in Reader rather than Acrobat.

  • Trouble Setting Form Defaults

I wanted to write a form to write to the user preferences. This works fine.
I'm having trouble getting the user's current setting to come in as a default. The value can be retrieved from a function call, but the form errors when it tries to execute the call.
I have the field value default set to wwpre_api.value.get_value_as_number('path','name') and the type set to 'function returns number'. Don't worry about the syntax, I think any function call could go in its place.
Anyone get this type of thing to work? Is there a better approach for a form that sets preferences?

I am sorry George. I am very new to this.  I believe I made all fields unlocked by selecting all, entering properties in one while all were selected and insured the lock check box in the bottom left of the popup was unchecked. I even checked it and then unchecked it to insure it was applied to all. That didn't make any difference. Then I finally found where to see the comments (which I assume is what you meant by annotations.) I deleted them all. Still no difference. What am I doing wrong? short of doing every field one at a time I don't know how to check to see if there are any fields locked or there are any annotations. I also could not find where or how to turn off annotations or marking edits.
I am attaching a link to the form after performing these functions and saving the form. Please look at and select form field 15 on page 4. Then right click on form field 42 on page 3 and select Set Fields To The Same Size. Options are still greyed out.

Thank you for all your assistance. I appreciate it and am disappointed in Adobe for not providing support for their product.
Another thought... Could this be something about my computer of the program? If so, how do you recommend I check or correct that?

  • Trouble Importing files to Pro CS3 and also getting default workspace

Hi guys, I'm a newbie and only using Premiere CS3 3.2.0 (with update recently installed) I'm on a Vista-based laptop, 2.5Ghz, 4mb RAM, plenty of hard drive space.
When I start a new project in Premiere CS3, in the New Project window, I go down to XDCAM EX, (shot with Sony EX 3), and highlight 1080p. Usually I get text in the description box but right now I'm not getting anything. And when I give the project a name and click OK, I get a blank workspace; no default timeline bin or file bin or monitor windows. I get nothing.
I have files on an external 250gig IOMEGA hd. Having trouble importing these files into the project. Can anyone help with any ideas of how to get started? Thanks!
UPDATE: I'm still getting a blank workspace when opening up a new project.
I have since attempted to import files from the external HD. It appears the files transferred over but I have no idea where they went. I saw the bar accept the files but cannot find the files listed anywhere in Premiere. Can someone please help?

OK, this used to work. Is that correct? Now it does not, or appears to not work. When that happens, something has changed.
The task will be to determine what might have changed. Have you had any OS updates lately? First, these can render display drivers obsolete instantly. Though it sounds like most of your GUI is displaying fine, some updated GUI info might not be, like the Timeline and Project Panel. Check to see if you have the latest display driver.
Since you have updated to 3.2 (normally a highly recommend thing to do), I would be interested to know if this behavior started before that update, or if it started long after 3.2 worked for you. Redoing the update might be like a Repair Install. If not, I think that I would try a Repair Install to see if something has been broken along the way.
I know that none of this really points to a cause, and probably does not point to a cure.
Along the way, tell us more about your entire system, both the hardware and the software.
Last, do you happen to have Window Blinds, or have a MS mouse with an InteliPoint mouse driver? I know that sounds like a weird question, but I have my reasons.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • MacPro 2.5 GHx, Intel Core 2 Duo, running snow leopard 10.6.7 --Firefox asked me to upgrade, that's when troubles began -- when I open FX, get my default page, then it freezes, disallows any page changes, links die, no page scrolling.

Please, I need help! Working on a MacPro 2.5 GHx, Intel Core 2 Duo, running snow leopard 10.6.7 --
Last week, Firefox asked me to upgrade, that’s when my troubles began -- Now when open Firefox, I get my default page, and then it freezes, disallows any page changes, the links die, no page scrolling --
The only unusual aspect to my previous Firefox configuration, was that I installed a NO SCRIPT thing to get past the New York Times paywall — and I don’t understand how to un-install that, assuming that’s the issue --
Have downloaded and re-installed Firefox, don’t think this has helped in any way, HELP please?!? Thanks, george.

That would at least partially explain it.
These MacBook Pros drew more power than the power brick could readily supply, and so would only run at top speed when the power brick was supplemented by the battery.
Though the applicable tech note has been removed, it stated:
"If the battery is removed from a MacBook or MacBook Pro, the computer will automatically reduce the processor speed. This prevents the computer from shutting down if it demands more power than the A/C adapter alone can provide."

  • How do you access "trouble shoot" for mail.  My AOL account is set up on the mail icon but it some how defaulted to another Wi fi account and could not receive email.  We reset the the Wifi but somehow didn't complete the process.

How do you access "trouble shoot" for mail.  Our AOL account is set up on the mail icon but somehow it defaulted onto another nearby Wifi account while everything else that was running stayed on our router.  We were unable to receive email on the AOL account and were directed to trouble shoot.  We reset the Wifi account but somehow didn't save it correctly.  Now we cannot get back in to reset it again.  Direction??

    Hello
I don't really understand your question. The Mail application cannot independently access a different wifi network from the one your computer is using.
Are you trying to troubleshoot your wifi (ie, you can't get into your own wireless network), or the Mail program (you can't get email)? Are there any error messages you see when you try to do one or the other?

  • Since loading Lion I am having trouble manually configuring my MTU's and getting them not to default back to 1500

Hi even since loading Lion, I am having trouble getting efficient connection to the internet via airport.  whenever I logon I have to manually configure my MTUs to stay at 1392; then it take about 6 tries until it stays - it keeps defaulting back to 1500. When I log out it defaults to 1500

This is really annoying - it is the same on my iMac and Macbook
Can somebody assist?  Me thinks a patch is required

This LION OS is Rubbish I hate it - I have sooooo much trouble now getting a decent internet connection because it does not hold the Flippin MTU; it reverts to 1500 - WHY

  • Safari won't play youtube videos anymore. I've never had trouble in the past. I switched to chrome but then back to safari and changed the default browser to safari. Now safari won't open any sites that require a user and password. Any suggestions?

    Hello everyone,
I've recently been getting error messages on youtube videos when using safari. This never used to happen. I tried using chrome but it didn't take care of the problem. When I set my default browser back to safari, safari won't open any websites that require a username and password. Any suggestions?

My case is different from those listed below.  First, I'm running OS X 10.8.5 and Safari 6.0.5.
    My problem is this:
I run a Google search, say, "youtube somesong", and from the hit list returned from google I
pick some selection. Youtube launches and plays the video without problems.  However, when
i click on any of the alternate videos from the page's  vertical list, only the name of the chosen video
appears beneath the video I just watched.  The new selection itself is not loaded by Safari.
This occurs for any selection I choose.  My way around this problem is to force a Safari reload of
the page by using the keyboard shortcut, Command-R.  This fills in the old video window with the
video I just chose.  Can I conclude that this is a Safari issue alone, or is it a Safari/Youtube combo gotcha?  Anyway, the present condition *****.
This problem began sometime after i upgraded to Mountain Lion.  I have reset Safari and have also
deleted the Youtube.com Cache, Cookies, and Local Storage from the Privacy settings under
System Preferences. I have also tested the problem by running Safari in 32 bit mode (no luck there).
If anyone out there has experienced this scenario, I sure could use a little help here.

  • Trouble getting the default  user directory under Windows XP

I m trying to get the default user directory under windows XP SP3.
    To do so, I'm using
    System.getProperty("user.home");
I was expecting to get a path like "C:\Documents and Settings\user", nstead of that I get "C:\Documents and Settings\user\Destop".
I checked the %USERPROFILE% and %HOMEPATH% window's environment variables and both of them are correctly set ( set to "C:\Documents and Settings\user").
Is there any way to get the right path other than using : System.setProperty("user.home", "C:\\Documents and Settings\\user"); ?

    Thanks WalterLaan,
The System.getenv("USERPROFILE") method will, at least, fix the problem under win XP.
I guess i'll have to write a more refined method to be able to deploy my application under differents OSes.
    Regards.

I think you are on Bridge colon Mode. And to recover from colon mode . We have to to following troubleshooting steps.
Before reloading the new firmware , first Bridge (1310) needed to be formated. But since you cannot telnet, to access Bridge you need to access it through console. On console you will see..
    bridge:
Step 1.Type format flash: on the bridge and then hit enter
Step 2. Enter the set command to assign an IP address, subnet mask, and
default gateway to the access point.
Note:-The system you are using must have tftp server recomended by
    Cisco.
Also load the IOS file in the tftp server. Before step 3.
Step 3.Enter the tftp_init command to prepare the access point for TFTP
    bridge: tftp_init
Step 4. Enter the tar command to load and inflate the new image from your TFTP server. The command must include this information:
the -xtract option, which inflates the image when it is loaded
the IP address of your TFTP server
the directory on the TFTP server that contains the image
    the name of the image
the destination for the image (the access point Flash)

  • Sun Application Server -  Trouble starting default server

    Hi everyone.
I am new to J2EE and am currently trying to get the Sun Appliation Server to run, but am having difficulties.
I have installed version 1.4 of J2EE SDK.
    Running Windows XP SP2.
When I run the program Start Default Server, it hangs for ages on the message "Starting Domain1, please wait" and finally after about a minute or so gives me an error message stating:
"Timeout waiting for domain domain1 to go to starting state.
CLI156 Could not start the domain domain1."
I have been told that it is very common to get problems with the port you choose for the JMS to be the same as somehting else on your PC. I have experimented with different port numbers (all of which not in current use - as indiated by netstat -a in the cmd window).
If anyone knows anything else I could try that would be great and much appreciated.
    Cheers

OK, here is the contents of log.txt from the imqbroker\log directory...
Tell me if you have a hard time decifering which date of this log corresponds to the date of the first log and I will clear both files and recreate it.

  • WRT54G2 V1...trouble resetting to default

I've followed different suggestions for how to reset my WRT54G2 V1 to the factory defaults (and I'm pretty sure a few months back one of them worked, now it doesn't), and I can never get in the the setup page at 192.168.1.1 - I get the prompt, leave user name blank, and "admin" for the password. Nothing seems to work.
I've done a  bunch of different reset procedures, pushing the reset button in for 30 seconds and then powering down/powering back up, tried if for a minute, unplugging everything and turning the wireless off...whatever I try, same thing.
Everything is otherwise working fine, I just want to get into the settings to change the NAT setting.
FYI, I have firmware version 1.0.04.005.
Thanks a lot for any help.

After putting in the password and hitting the OK button do you get any type of error message or message indicating an incorrect password?
There are a few additional things to try. First is, and this will sound stupid, use the full URL to access the admin page on the router. HTTP://192.168.1.1 (by full I mean include the "HTTP://" along with the IP address). Second is to configure your PC's network card to have a fixed IP address in the same IP range as the router. This will entail changing the networking setup for that network card from "Obtain IP address automatically" to manual and inputting an IP address like 192.168.1.100 (subnet mask of 255.255.255.0) and then try to log into the router's default admin page. Third, make sure nothing else is connected to the router and that your using a wired connected computer to perform the initial administration. Lastly, download the "Setup Wizard" from http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/wireless/lbc/WRT54G2 and see if that will get your router configured.
Post back with results good or bad to help others who might experience what you've experienced.

  • [Pulseaudio] default device trouble

I'm trying to get system wide equalizer working.
First I tried ladspa pulseaudio-equalizer, it works when I apply eq. setting, but once I stop playing music or movie and then use those applications again they default back to real device. I have to apply eq settings again.
I don't know why this is happennig, I tried pavucontrol and other device choosers. Ladspa is default, nothing is wrong there. This happens with every application too.
I tried qpaeq, another equalizer. It worked but I had cracling issues with that one.
    I use kde4 and x86_64.

    Hello
Q1 : How do i keep UserBob from being able to log into the switch?
Configure NAR [network access restriction] and restrict the user to "not-to" access switch.
Q2 : How do I get User1 to enter level 15 (Switch# instead of Switch>)  automatically without being prompted to enter their password a second  time after typing "enable"?
You need to configure exec authorization on switch and push "privlege level = 15" to make User1 fall on switch# mode.
The command on switch will be :
aaa authorization exec default group tacacs local
Let me know if it helps.
    thanks

  • I need to transfer my settings which I saved in the vq6vpz1e.default file to a new macbook air and am having trouble doing it

I read that if I saved my old settings found in the vq6vpz1e.default file, I could then transfer them to a new computer. However now that I have done that, I don't know how to actually input them into the new computer which is a macbook air. Any tips would be greatly appreciated, thanks

It is better to only copy files with important data to that new profile and not the full profile folder to the new computer
