Default User Group in SAP Query (SQ01)?

Hi,
Is there a configuration or parameter to set so that when starting SU01 it will open a certain User Group by default, e.g. Z1234?  Clicking the button "Other User Group" is tedious for end users.
Thanks, will assign points.

Unfortunately those steps take you to SQ03, "User Group: Initial Screen".  There is no option in SQ03 to set a default User Group, either.
Any other ideas?
I tried searching for parameters in SU01, but there isn't a suitable parameter.
Advice welcome

  • How many ways we can create authorization for user groups in sap query reports

    Hi Gurus, I am getting a problem when I am assigning users to user group in sap query report .The users other than created in user groups are also able to add &change  the users .So please suggest me how to restrict users outside of the user group.
    Please send me if u have any suggestions and useful threads.
    Thank You,
    Suneel Kumar.

    I don't think it can be done. According to the link below 'Users who have authorization for the authorization object S_QUERY with both the values Change and Maintain, can access all queries of all user groups without being explicitly entered in each user group.'

    Although I think you can add code to your infoset and maybe restrict according to authority group, i.e.:
    Use AUTHORITY-CHECK to restrict access to the database based on user.
    Press F1 on AUTHORITY-CHECK to find out how to use it in the code

    Step-by-step guide for creating ABAP query
    http://www.sappoint.com/abap/ab4query.pdf
    ABAP query is mostly used by functional consultants.
    SAP Query
    Purpose
    The SAP Query application is used to create lists not already contained in the SAP standard system. It has been designed for users with little or no knowledge of the SAP programming language ABAP. SAP Query offers users a broad range of ways to define reporting programs and create different types of reports such as basic lists, statistics, and ranked lists.
    Features
    SAP Query's range of functions corresponds to the classical reporting functions available in the system. Requirements in this area such as list, statistic, or ranked list creation can be met using queries.
    All the data required by users for their lists can be selected from any SAP table created by the customer.

  • How to add a default user group for multiple document type's?

    Hi,
    I am trying to add same default user group for different document types when MA is created. Is there any way to setup using a single "Document Security Template"? Or I need to create different templates for different document types?
    Please confirm.
    Thanks,
    Saloni

    Hi Saloni,
    Based on what your specific requirement, it might be easier to do it with scripting.
    If you are doing it using Document Security Templates, you would have to create a Document Security Template for each of the 6 MA types and assign the default group. Create another one and leave the Document Type field blank, so it will apply to the other 4 MA types that don't have a default group.

  • Default value for SAP Query - SQ01

    Hi Expert,
    I made a query for GL master data, and I have a selection criteria on chart of account, but since the chart of account for all company codes are same; therefore I would like to default the chart of account selection criteria to my COA.
    I read through question/answer in the following thread: SQ01 - restriction on Infoset but solution given by Lalitha Manda ... I cannot get the given selection path.
    Kindly advise, and I am using ECC6.0.
    Thanks,
    sbmel

    Hi,
    You need to go to the infoset of the query (transaction SQ02), or in SQ01, after input of the SAP Query, click on 'Infoset Query'.
    In the right frame You will get a list of fields for selection. There You can default the value of selection field GL Account in the column 'Value'.

  • SAP Query SQ01 restriction at Plant level

    Hello All,
    Is possible to restrict SAP SQ01 Query report at Plant level? I mean if it can be restricted through Auth object at Role level?

    Hi,
    OK, when a query is created you can hard code selection parameters into the query itself (i.e. default in the company code).  That way you have have queries:
    ZQ_SHIP_LIST_1000
    ZQ_SHIP_LIST_2000
    ZQ_SHIP_LIST_3000
    Where the 1000, 2000, 3000 represents a data element by which you are separating them.
    As Arpan mentioned you could tie this in with your user group policy to make sure users in certain groups (e.g. arranged by plant) are only allocated queries for their respective area.
    A downside of this is that you will potentially have a lot more queries.  Depending on how your S_QUERY auths are set up, the selection screen entries could be modified.
    Ultimately both methods are a faff and my POV is that if you want to report on business data then it's best to code reports from scratch (including the required auth checks) or use something like BW with restrictions tied to the data model.

  • SAP Query (SQ01) - create and save queryies

    Hi Expert;
    We wanted to implement SAP query reporting (SQ01) tool, and already developed custom HR infoset and user groups and transported to QAS.  We experienced the problem that we can not directly "save" any queries in SQ01. We pretty much have the client opened up and set at "Changes without automatic recording".  But keep getting a "transport object create" dialog upon "save" query.  But in Adhoc (PQAH), we don't encounter same problem.    We wanted our users be able to create and save any queries directly without creating any local objects. Is there another setting that needs to be set?
    Thanks for any information that you can provide.  Points will be awarded.
    Helen

    Hello Helen,
    in SQ01 you can save queries like in HR Ad Hoc Query (or Infoset query as it is called outside HR).
    However this is only possible in the "Standard Area" not in the "Global Area". However as Ad Hoc Query is based on the SQ0x basics it only hides this effect.
    If you are doing HR specifics you should consider the documetnation on the special HR switches:
    http://service.sap.com/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01200252310000076208&
    In general if you are new to the topic you should consider the courses BC407 for Query Basics and HR580 for reporting in HR.
    Also to get a feeling for the different types of reporting with the InfoSet Query you can look at the following documentation:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005vp/helpdata/en/a8/2e7237a323427ee10000009b38f8cf/frameset.htm
    HR Reporting Tools -> Sap Query -> InfoSet Query -> Calling InfoSet Query.
    Or you can book a special training if you need a contact let me know your email adress

  • SAP Query(SQ01) need to be transported

    Hi All,
    I want to transport a tcode which is using SAP query. Now I am able to send the tcode to other system but when I go to SAP query under queries and standard query area I am not able to see the version management details. I also tried going to the SAP query report through double clicking on the report name under SE93, and when I am into the report it also does not show any version details. It says "No version found".
    What I am thinking is just get the active request number from the version management and transport it to the other system.
    Can anyone of you tell me how to transport a SAP query.
    Thanks,
    Mahen

    Hello everyone,
    I am having problem in fixing this up. Let me tell you all what I have done.
    I first transported the tcode from souce system to target system.
    Because I transported the tcode so in the target system. Tcode has the report/program name as it is existing in the source system.
    Now when I transported the everything like user group, infoset and the query, I was able to see them in the target client. I tried to run the tcode.
    Tcode does not run, It says there are inconsistensies in the tcode.
    I tried to trouble shoot the problem. I found that when I was trying to run the tcode it was not able to find the report/program.
    What I did was, I generated the program for SAP query existing in the target client.
    When program was generated, I observed that It is different with the one that is currently existing for the tcode in the target client.
    This is the main problem report name are different. When I see in the se93 report name is the old one which I transported from the source system for the tcode, but when I see the report name for the SAP query by going into SQ02 it is coming different. I want to know when you create the program name for the SAP query, On what basis is the namespace of the program generated.
    SAP query program name existing for the tcode and in the source system and also in the target system(When you see it in se93) is :
    AQ01FI==========ZBSAK_LFB1====
    SAP query program name when I generated it in the target client is :
    AQFKFI==========ZBSAK_LFB1====
    Bythe way the query name is ZBSAK_LFB1
    Kindly throw some light on this.
    Thanks,
    Mahen

  • SAP Query-SQ01,SQ02,SQ03

    Hi,
    One query was created in Development client and a transaction code was created for the same and transported to QA & production. But I am unable to see the same in QA cliet or production client. this was done by SAP implementation team and i do not know what mode of transportation they had used.
    When i run the transaction code for this query in QA client it says the user Group has not been created. After analyzing the same in two clients we found that in Global area everything is same in these two clents but in Standard area the User Group is not showing.
    Can anyone give some clue as to how to rectify this issue..is it an issue related to transport or do we have to manually create in each client.
    Also let me know what is the difference between Standard area and Global area??
    Regards,
    SAPFICO

    hi Aamod;
    it seems like you already have your BI SAP Query system working properly, if you can use it in the BI Integration Wizard. what's the problem you're seeing in VC?
    systems created with the BI SAP Query Connector are relational systems and therefore expose tables and fields in VC. via the BI Connector, these systems are 'lent' BI functionality and you can use these tables in the BI Integration Wizard, as you've seen. you might therefore call these "relational BI systems" (just like systems created with the BI JDBC Connector are).
    if you have consulted the System Landscape documentation on configuring properties for a BI SAP Query System (<a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/4b/9afe3323d14005a283dee9101c66fc/frameset.htm">here</a>) and you're still having problems connecting with the BI SAP Query Connector, i'd suggest you write up a CSS message.
    hope it helps;

  • How to only synchronize one specific LDAP user group with SAP?

    Hi,
    Hopefully this is the correct forum to post this in. I want to have continuous one-way synchronization of users from my LDAP server to my SAP central system. I've started configure in SAP using transaction SM59 and LDAP. Can I somewhere set that only one specific LDAP user group shall be transferred to SAP (they do not need to be assigned to any specific group, profile, role in SAP) - or should this be done on the LDAP server side (or is it at all possible)?
    Correct me if I'm wrong, but the User Group field in the report RSLDAPSYNC_USER only concerns SAP user groups right? This would therefore not be sufficient since I want to select the users to synchronize based on user groups in the directory.
    Thanks, Oscar

    We've used a repository constant to specify the LDAP filter for reading users / groups from the LDAP target.
    E.g. LDAP_FILTER_USERS (&(objectCategory=person)(objectClass=user))
    Then we also have a constant for the LDAP_STARTING_POINT
    For our AD Group Initial Load we filter according to these settings:
    LDAP_FILTER_GROUPS = (objectclass=group)
    LDAP_STARTING_POINT_GROUPS = ou=IDMManagedGroups,ou=Groups,dc=cfstest,dc=le,dc=ac,dc=uk
    The above example only reads AD groups starting at the specified OU
    Then in a Job From LDAP Pass the LDAP URL looks like this:
    LDAP://%$rep.LDAP_HOST%:%$rep.LDAP_PORT%/%$rep.LDAP_STARTING_POINT_GROUPS%?*?SUB?%$rep.LDAP_FILTER_GROUPS%
    I hope this helps
    Paul
