    How/where do I change the settings to have Acrobat XI Pro my default viewer when I open a PDF?  I tried the change noted for Acrobat X Pro but it didn't work for XI.  I tried going through the settings screen but don't see a place to make the change there.  HELP

    Hi paulletta1,
    There are 2 ways for this :
    1. Please refer : http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/change-which-programs-windows-uses-by-default
    2. Launch Acrobat, Click on 'Edit' > 'Preferences'.
    On the left pane select  'General', and then click on 'Default pdf handler'. Select 'Acrobat'
    Click 'Ok'

    lost bottom banner when open "mail" cannot delete e-mails?

    Close the mail app. Then double tap on the home button to bring up the multi-tasking bar. Swipe upwards on the mail app. Reset the phone. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. Once the phone reboots, try opening mail and see if this returns.

  • Problem when opening "Mail"

    Dear members of the Apple Community,
    After transferring my files and my profile on my new Macbook pro, I keep encountering a problem when opening "Mail". Each time I try, the app asks me to choose a mail account to add, but I already added the ones I normally use. I can either create/add this new account or click the "cancel" button. I cannot use the program (the main functions are not available). But if I try to add a new account, Mail does not upload the new messages for my existing accounts and if I click "cancel", the application simply close itself. What could I do?
    Thanks a lot to your help.

    It might be worth running Disk Utilities and then Repair Disk Permissions to see if that resolves the problem.

  • How do i Restore Preview as my default viewer when using Safari,seems adobe has hi jacked Safari,if i uninstall adobe safari will not open any pdf files.

    How do i restore Preview as my default viewer.
    Seems adobe has hi-jacked Safari and and opens using abobe not preview.
    Have uninstalled adobe but safari then will not display any pdf files.
    Preview still works fine to view existing downloaded files.

    Niac --
    What kind of files?  PDFs?  or Others as well?
    If you want Preview to open all PDFs, then find a PDF on your HD.
    Highlight it, and then press the Apple/Comand key along with th letter " i " key.
    When the window comes up, look down to the "Open with" line, and change it from Adobe to Preview.
    Then look slightly below, and select "Change All."
    Now, all PDFs should open with Preview.

  • How can I make folder view the default view when I open Organizer?

    I just bought Adobe Elements Photshop and Premier 11.  I spent 2 to 3 hours getting my picture video library into Adobe's organizer.  I had some problems with duplicate picture (that I wanted to be there - so I had to rename them) and a couple pictures with corrupted metadata.  After I got all that sorted out I am a bit miffed about the folder view on Adob'es organizer.
    I love that you can switch to folder view - since this is how I have been organizing my pictures for a long time.  I would like to continue organizing this way for now until I get a grasp on the other ways I can organize them in elements.  However, every time I close and re-open organizer it switches back to the default view instead of folder view.  PLEASE tell me that there is a way to set folder view to the default view!  HELP!

    Perhaps it’s a design feature to speed up the Organizer launch.
    I am sure it is.
    - The normal use of the Organizer is not the folder view, it's the thumbnail view with an organization based on categories and folder. That way you should forget completely where your pictures are stored. Anyway, the folder view in the Explorer is not a map of the location of the different bits of your file, it's only a logical representation. That's easy to see when you are doing a defragmentation.
    - The folder view is useful even for those using normally the thumbnail view, but that is only for rare cases when you must change the folder organization, for instance moving files to another drive. The folder view is here to prevent you from changing things from the explorer and outside of the Organizer.
    - The new folder list view, which you find 'funny' is there to help better organizing using tags. Its huge advantage is that such a view is created extremely quickly by extracting the last subfolder in the media table : it's the way the database sees the folders, based on its own content,  totally ignoring the complex folder organization of your disk with media files or any unrelated other kind of data. You should use it in many cases, the main purpose being assigning tags when you have assigned descriptive folder names. I had suggested such a solution to prevent the long standing bugs in the folder view of previous versions.
    So yes, the purpose is:
    - to speed up switching modes
    - to help folder organization fans to migrate to tags organization
    - to hopefully get rid of the old folder organization bugs

  • Add new fields to default view when creating fields via REST in sharepoint 2013

    Hello,
    When I add new fields via REST in a list, they don't appear in the default view for that list.
    Here is my code in case you need it:
    public function creeChamp(nomListe:String, champ:String, type:int, requis:Boolean):void
    postURL.data = JSON.stringify({ '__metadata': { 'type': 'SP.Field' }, 'Title': champ, 'FieldTypeKind': type,'Required': requis, 'EnforceUniqueValues': false,'StaticName': champ});
    thanks

    You need to add the field to the view as well.
    Here is the API.
    Our code looks pretty different because I'm working in AngularJS, but here's a snippet from a working example:
    $http.post(siteUrl + "/_api/web/lists/GetByTitle('" + listName +
    "')/Views/GetByTitle('All%20Items')/ViewFields/addViewField('" + columnName + "')",
    // POST data is empty for this request
    }, getPostConfig())
    .then(function (response) {
    deferred.resolve("Added column to view");
    .catch(function (response) {
    deferred.reject('Error ' + response.status + ': ' + response.data.error.message.value)
    Bottom line is you just POST to this URL however you normally do - except no data:
    "/_api/web/lists/GetByTitle('" + listName + "')/Views/GetByTitle('All%20Items')/ViewFields/addViewField('" + columnName + "')",
    Hope this helps!

  • Why the 3D graph control shortcut menu is disabled?And how to set 3D graph to default view when running?

    1).Controls have shortcut  menu,but the 3d graph's shortcut menu cannt be able. why? how to make it able?
    2).3D graph can be rotated free by dragging, and when it is not running,right click ,select default view, the graph go back to initial view. But when the VI run, the shortmenu is disabled, how to make it to defaul tview. the property node and method seem have none about default view

    The 3D Graph control is actually an ActiveX control (in Windows), so it's not a "standard" LabVIEW control with the "standard" run-time popup menu. Consequently, to access most of the properties and actions you actually have to use the Property Node and Invoke Node functions in the Application Control palette:

  • Display a default subsequence when openning a sequence file in the TestStand editor

    Is there a way to set the default sequence displayed when openning up a sequence file?
    Seems that the steps for MainSequence are typically displayed first when openning an existing sequence.
    How do I set it to display another subsequence I created when I open the sequence file.
    Or if it is displaying a subsequence other than MainSequence, how do I set it back to display MainSequence by default when reopenning the file in TestStand.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Jeff,
    Sequences are stored in sequence files in 0-N order.  The default sequence will be the 0th one.  To change the order in the sequence editor you can click on the Sequence bar above the sequences.  Keep clicking until there are no arrows on it.  This is the true order of sequences in the sequence file.  Drag the one you want visible to the top.
    See the image so you know what I'm talking about.
    Hope this helps,

    Hello Again oficinadosite!
    As I Also Replied, in your Duplicate Topic,
    What you are experiencing is a OS X Kernel Panic.
    Exactly which model Mac G5 is it?
    What size is the Hard Drive, and how much space is available?
    How much RAM is installed, and is it original or added?
    What peripherals do you have connected to the Mac?
    Is when you open Mail, the only time this happens?
    Are there any programs or applications, that are set to load at Startup?
    What happened shortly before this issue originated.
    Did you make any changes, like upgrading the system, update or install any applications or programs, new hardware or peripherals, etc?
    Have there been any unusual occurences, like freezes, crashes, power outages, etc?
    Are you able to startup from the system install disc, to run Repair Disk?
    Have you run Repair Permissions?
    Advise if you need instructions, to perform these procedures.
    You may find use helpful tips in this document Resolving Kernel Panics, authored by Dr Smoke.

  • Verify Certificate when opening Mail

    Hi,
    I hope someone can help. Every time I open up Mail,on my iMac, I get a "Verify Certificate" dialogue box. With the following message;
    "Mail can't verify the identity of mail.me.com.
    The certificate for this server is invalid.You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be"mail.me.com" which could put your confidential information at risk. Do you want to connect to the server anyway?
    I click connect and the mail works fine. However, the message reappears every time on opening mail.
    I have tried the following,
    1. I have opened the certificate and clicked on the "Always trust "mail.me.com" when connecting to "mail.me.com"" but this will be not ticked the next time I open Mail.
    2. I have deleted then reopened the account.
    3. I have deleted the ByHost file in User/library/preferences.
    4. I have used the Keychain access and selected always trust for the certificate. It will not stay selected.
    Is there any way I can get rid of this message. It does not occur when opening the account from my MBP.
    Thanks

    Greetings,
    If you have the same account(s) setup on your Macbook Pro and it works fine there, I'd say your Mail preferences file is corrupt. So, if you make a copy of the com.apple.mail.plist file on your Macbook Pro and move it to Home/Library/Preferences on the problem Mac (which will overwrite the current file), then restart Mail, it should work fine again.

  • Unsent Messages Flood Screen When Opening Mail

    I've been using Entourage for mail with Bellsouth, but I frequenly have a problem with several hundred messages that I've already read downloading again. So...I'm thinking of switchin to Mail. But when I open Mail to give it a test the screen floods with hundreds of unsent messages.The only way to delete one is to say I want to edit the message. Only then does the red delete button activate and when I click on that I get a message asking if I want to save it or delete it. Is there any easier way to delete all of these unsent messages or stop them from popping up?

    Look into the mail accounts and delete their profiles. You should not lose any data you entered into contacts or calendar. After you delete them re-enter the profiles again. Hopefully it should resume working again.

  • TS2621 Sometimes when opening mail, all existing messages disappear. Help please!

    Sometimes when opening email all existing messages just disappear.

    Mac HD says 2.49.72GB and 151.88 used??
    That's impossible. I think you mean to say that your HD capacity is 249.72 GB, and you've used 151.88 GB. You do have enough free space, so that means something else is going on to cause this problem.
    Aside from setting up the Gmail account(s), did you install or update anything just prior to this problem starting? If so, what were those items?
    I didn't mention any extension, so I'm assuming you're referring to seventy one's mention of TM (Time Machine). That is a built-in backup method that you can choose to take advantage of, but I would not do it, since it's not all it's cracked up to be. What you need is to setup and maintain every day a bootable backup of your entire hard drive. You can do that with SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner. You don't need an Airport device for these, nor Time Machine; in fact, I would shy away from using wireless for such things, as it's often more of a problem than a benefit.
    Also, there may be problems with your hard drive, so I would boot your Mac from the install disc, choose your language, then wait about 15 seconds for the menu bar at the top to appear and choose Utilities->Disk Utility and Repair Disk. If it comes back with any errors that can't be fixed, post them in your reply. But if not, then run Repair Permissions, and all you need to concern yourself with is the message at the end that 'Permission repair completed'; ignore anything else as long as you see that message.
    Then reboot your system and restart Mail and setup your account(s) again (assuming it's not there because you deleted the IMAP mail folder and the Envelope Index file. In the future, don't throw things away unless you know the consequences of doing so; you'll end up being unfortunately surprised when you lose critical information.

  • When opening Mail, sending mail won't stop searching?

    When I open mail App. On my MBP, running Lion mail loads all my accounts fine, but sending mail doesn't stop searching for sbcglobal.net account. Therefor can't send any mail from any accounts.

    Maintenance you do before you need it! I do it at least once a month, sometimes more often. The free application Onyx is a great application for this.
    It could also be that you don't have enough working RAM. Pages can have problem with memory use when the documents are large in Mb.
