Default Viewing Size

Since upgrading from CS5 to CC images open with a default viewing size that is very small, like 3 - 5 %.  Can this be changed to "Fit to View"  I know that it is just a case of COmmand-0 to make it that size, but one less thing to do would be nice.
Thanks
Craig

Here's what I think is happening:
1.  You didn't realize that the Application Frame is just an option, so you dragged the bottom up so that Photoshop is a very short window.
2.  You later turned off the Application Frame while it was very short.
3.  Under some conditions, now Photohshop still thinks it wants to open documents and make them fit in the (now hidden) short application frame.
Try this:
Re-enable the Application Frame.
Stretch the bottom of the Photoshop window down so that it (nearly) fills your screen.
Disable the Application Frame again.

  • Default View Size In My Own Template

    I have created a template of my own called “My Template” and have set it to open automatically as a new document in preferences. Everything works great except it opens at 100% view size I want it to open at 150% view size, I’ve tried saving it as a template to the templates folder as the same name as above and it retains all my changes except view size. Is there any way to save the default view size of a template so it opens at 150% ? When I save a template as a document it remembers my view size and reopens at the larger saved view size but my saved template reopens at 100% not matter what I do!

    Actually my mistake I just read the instructions for pasting the text below into the terminal window and then press "Enter" NOT "return". I was pressing return which didn't work so the line of code below does work to set the default Zoom on a template.
    defaults write com.apple.iWork.Pages SLDefaultsPageScale 1.25
    Complete instructions below:
    1. Go to Applications > Utilities, and double click the Terminal icon.
    2. In the window that comes up, paste the following text:
    defaults write com.apple.iWork.Pages SLDefaultsPageScale 1.25
    3. Press the enter key.
    Next time you open Pages, the zoom factor will be 250%.
    (If you want some other zoom factor, just replace "2.50" with for example "2.25" for 225% or "0.50" for 50% and so on.)

    This document can help you set the print settings for any type of printing. Not just for photos as the title suggests. You should not have to keep setting it every time.

  • Default view size/location for files in Preview?

    Hello,
    This is probably a stupidly simple question, but is there a way to set the default location and size of all pdf files opened in preview?
    I know how easy it is to set window parameters in the finder: simply resize the window before closing and it remembers the new size/location. Preview will remember the location when the app remains open, yet when I quit the program and open the same PDF file again, its back in its original location, which somehow got set off center on my 2nd monitor so it cannot be read without constantly adjusting upon opening. (example: http://www.avartists.com/Picture.gif
    As you can imagine this can get VERY annoying. Any help in fixing this issue would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help.

    Deleting the plist file had no effect whatsoever with my Preview. You can try it if you want. If you have custom settings of various sorts you can just move the plist file to the Desktop, then start Preview. If the annoying behavior is gone then you can toss the file on the Desktop and keep the new plist file. If it still behaves the same way and you want whatever preferences you had set before, just quit Preview and move your original file back, say yes to the "replace dialogue" and you're back where you were.

  • How can I change the view size to make it my default?

    the view size is way too small with pages that I open on Firefox. I want to change the size and I want to make it my default so I don't have to click on zoom in everytime I open Firefox. Where can I change this? I have Windows Vista.

    You can use an extension to set a default font size and page zoom on web pages.

    I'm just starting using Firefox but I won't be using it for long if I have to re-size the screen with every new location viewed.

  • Default Page Size Not Retained

    I have just installed Adobe X Pro after having been using 9 Pro. I am on Windows 7.
    When I set Page Layout to Single Page and Fit Page it goes back to automatic after I close the document. I have tried checking, in Documents, Restore Last View Setting... that doesn't help. I want document, previously created with 9 Pro to open full page. I want new documents to be full page. Is there a setting I am missing?
    George Sullivan

    Dave, let me tackle these one at a time.
    1. Initial view setting of a PDF. Why go to all the trouble of clicking on File>Properties, select Initial View tab, etc. for each document I create or use? I could just set the preference of Edit>Preferences>Document and check "Restore last view settings when reopening documents". Then when I deal with a document I just make sure it is the view size I want before saving it. And, at this point that is the approach I am taking because the Page Layout preferences doesn't work.
    2. Acrobat preferences. I set Page Layout and Zoom as you describe but they are not "sticky". As soon as I close Acrobat both revert to automatic. In Acrobat 9 Pro these settings were "sticky". They are not in Acrobat X Pro. As you suggested I did a repair. After the repair these settings are still not "sticky".
    The bigger picture is this.
    Adobe's stock in trade has, for years, been the manipulation of digital documents. Their business plan has established the company as pre-eminent in this application.
    But Acrobat X is aken to telling a secretary who has been shuffling paper for 10 years to stop using her right hand and to start using her left. Adobe changed the keyboard shortcuts leaving many out (for example there is no shortcut to extract pages). Adobe made it more difficult to quickly email a pdf by inserting more steps in the process because they are pushing some program called Send Adobe Online. The page layout and zoom default preferences no longer work as they did in previous versions unless I a missing something. I don't know whether the mundane functions in the new version just weren't thought out or the Adobe developers just wanted to have some fun.
    The fact of the matter is I just need to shuffle papers and Adobe is forcing me to use my left hand.

  • Adobe Acrobat X - initial (default) window size to large

    I recently changed my monitor and now whenever I open a PDF the default window size takes up 80% of my screen.  I'm using Filemaker 12 to create these PDFs, and the inital view is set to Page Only, Single Page and 100% Magnification.  The problem is the Acrobat window is about twice the size of the page width, covering up the rest of my windows.  I cannot find the setting to specify the default window size?
    I'm running Acrobat X 10.1.6, running on OS X 10.8.3
    Please advise.

    How are you creating your PDF from Excel? Are you using the PDFMaker macro or the Adobe PDF printer?

  • IWork '09 Change Document default text size

    New to iWork. Is there a way to change the default text size in iWork '09 without doing the highlighting thing? I want all text in all documents to be the same size & type.

    You will need to create and save your own template, set to whatever you want.
    The default style is Body :
    +Menu > View > Show Styles Drawer+
    +Select some text > style it as you wish > Styles Drawer > click on the red triangle next to Body > Redefine style from selection+
    Save as Template and set that to open by default in Pages' Preferences.

  • PDF adjust view size

    Hi there!. When saving a PDF file in Illustrator, what should I do so people who opens the file can see the document ALWAYS as "adjust height" view size?
    Hope you can help me!

    There is nothing you can do. This is completely out of your control. While you can define a default view for your PDF, the user can override such settings on his own end.

    You can set custom view options (window size, icon placement, and so forth) that clients see when they connect to a server volume via Apple File Service (AFP).
    You can customize the size, position, and other view options of the window that clients see when they connect to a server volume via Apple File Service (AFP). You can do this on a per-volume basis.
    To customize view options, follow these steps:
    1. Log in to a client computer.
    2. Using Connect to Server, connect to the target volume as the owner of the volume; the owner must not be an administrator account (see Notes 1, 2, and 3, below).
    3. Make any desired changes to the window position, view mode (Icons, List, Columns), icon arrangement, or any of the settings found in View Options window (Command-J).
    4. Disconnect from the server volume by dragging it to the Trash.

  • Default font size for a value in a table in Answers

    Hi,
    I am trying to set a default font size for a column of table view in Answers, so that when I create a new report, this default font size is used. Can someone please point me to the file where I can make this change?
    Thanks

    Well if you have a tag like this:
    element.style {
    background-color:#FFFFFF;
    font-size:9px;
    It means it's coming from the formatting in the request in Answers...not from a style sheet! You'll note in Firebug, that there's actually no *.css file mentionned. I.e. example from here:
    element.style {
    color:#00AF00;
    .OORD {views.css (line 1574)
    text-align:right;
    .PTE {views.css (line 1077)
    background-color:#FFFFFF;
    First part element.style comes from my conditional formatting and doesn't reference any css file
    The other two elements are from the views.css which control my pivot table.
    See the difference?
    Cheers,
    C.

  • Default view in numbers

    Why does the new Numbers (3.0) insist on opening in its own default view (125% zoom, window centered, and format pane open) when I explicitly save it otherwise? It's extremely annoying to have to adjust these things every time I open the spreadsheet. The older Numbers acted properly and opened the spreadsheet as previously saved.
    Ron

    Jerry,
    Thanks for the reply. It may be related to spreadsheets updated from the older Numbers. When I tried creating a new spreadsheet in Numbers 3.0, the only opening issue I had was that it opened the window in the middle of the screen rather than aligned along the left edge as I had originally saved it. Indeed, the zoom and Format pallette were closed as they should be.
    BTW, not only is the window opened in the middle of my screen, the size of the window is also set back to some Numbers default. So... still annoying.
    I just took a look and there are an aweful lot of iWork and Numbers pref files to play with. I suppose that I could start trashing those too.

  • The default print size on Pages is too small - how can I program it to be larger?

    The default type size in Pages is too small - can I permanently size is larger? Thank you.

    Hi Ellis,
    When you say the default font size, is this set by the template you use for a new document? If so, create your own. Open a blank template, set the font size, and Save as Template... with a new name.
    In Pages > Preferences > General > For new Documents > Use Template.
    Choose your template. When you open Pages, it will open that template.
    File > New will also open that template.
    The font of a document from someone else has been set by the author of that document. You will have to change it.
    Also, have a look at View > Zoom. Perhaps the font is not small, but your view of the page is small.
    Regards,
    Ian

  • What is the default icon size for macbook pro 13 inch?

    I have the 13 inch macbook pro, its not the retina. What is the default icon size for it? I accidently changed it on the show view options.

    The default size is not related to the Mac Model, it's related to the OS X version. For Snow Leopard it's 48x48 pixels.
    For Lion and Mountain Lion it's 64x64.
    You can choose the size that is right for you. I typically use either 32x32 or 36x36. Some prefer larger some prefer smaller. It's up to you.
    I've always found the default sizes to be too big for my taste.
