Defaulting to save to iDisk in Tiger

I'm using NeoOffice - really pleased with it. But don't seem to be able to save directly to my iDisk - the option isn't available. have to save to local disk and then move across. It's the only application this seems to be a problem in - any ideas?

According to Apple, you can save application data and files to your iDisk in the same way as your Mac hard disk. Read their FAQ for more info.

  • Changing the default bookmarks save location

    Heya,
If i right-click a website and click "Bookmark this page". It brings up the bookmark panel with the default folder "Bookmarks Menu" is there any way i can change this default ?
"I dont mind if it goes deep into the firefox:config, system or regedit as i am mostly computer savie :)"

''Changing the default bookmarks save location:''
You would do better clicking on the bookmark star on the Location Bar.
You can install "Add Bookmark Here2" and probably make modifications in the options.

  • Suddenly my PS CS5 defaulted its "Save As" to JPEG2000, how do I restore it back to "Save As" JPEG?

I got a new computer (Windows 7) at work this April and as of today, when I work on any of my JPEG images in PS CS5, suddenly it has defaulted its "Save As" to JPEG2000. How did this default change and how do I get it to default save as. JPEG again? There was nothing I noticed and no warning as to why this has changed, I didn't touch a thing!
(Last week, Adobe had to work with our IT manager to fix a problem that started occuring with my new Adobe Acrobat Pro 11 program. They had to log into my computer and change a registry thing to get it to work properly again...also something that changed without warning!!)

Thank you Curt Y, as I saw your post reply come through, I had just hung up with Adobe support (after being on the phone for an hour & a half).
To be clear...prior to today, if I opened a JPG file, and did an immediate "save/save as", it would automatically re-save as a JPG file but it seemed to suddenly be defaulting to a "save/save as" JPEG2000.
They claimed that yes, there was a fix for this and while I was on hold she had me follow a few directions which DID fix the issue. While we were on the phone she was able to have me restore it to at least a default "save/save as" for a PSD file rather than a JPEG2000, which is better than nothing and she was about to help me get the default set so that when I open a JPG it would automatically default to "save/save as" a JPG, but she couldn't get it that to work. After she logged on to my computer to physically do it herself and failed to fix it further, she thinks my security permissions (we are on a network) are not set properly and she wanted to create a new user account with the proper permissions but we were halted because our IT guy is not in right now.
She gave me a case# and when he returns tomorrow, we are to try her list of instructions starting with creating a new (PS CS5 user account) then if that does not restore the "save as" defaults we are to uninstall, then re-install PS. If this still does not work we are to call her back and they will try to fix it from there. She did tell me that in my version of PS (CS5), she was able to open a JPG (on her end), then hit save as, and it defaults to saving as a JPG, not a PSD as is happening to me.
Before I posted here, I did do an iternet search to find out how to set the defaults, however I too found that everyone says there is no such default of a "save as" JPG...but Adobe claims otherwise. We shall see what happens tomorrow...

  • BOXI R3 Webi Doc -"Refresh On Open" checked as default for Save and Save As

we have row level security at database level and we require that all webi reports are set to "Refresh on Open" in order to apply the security settings each time the report is viewed.
Is it possible to make BOXI R3 Webi Document -"Refresh On Open" checked as default for "Save" and "Save As"
    through SDk?

Are you referring to editing/creating a Webi doc through infoview?  Infoview is an out of the box web application and modification of it is not supported.  There is no setting to make all webi docs refresh on open within the enterprise product.
The only thing you could do with the sdk is to open any existing doc and change the setting.  This isn't a great solution as it won't affect any new reports created, nor will it prevent users from modifying the document and changing this setting and saving.

  • Default Screen Saver

Screen saver changes back to default pictures after My photo library has been selected in source window. 17" MacBook Pro Yosemite 10.10.1

    Angel,
yes, there is a default screen saver. The one you see is called Flurry. If you go to System Preferences > Desktop & Screen Saver > Screen Saver, you may select a screen saver, customize the screen saver, or change the time to activate the screen saver. You can also get to this by right-clicking (control-click) on the desktop and selecting Change Desktop Background, and selecting the Screen Saver tab.

  • Default query save location in SSMS 2012

So, finally, is there a way to change SSMS 2012 default query save location?
    Scenario:
    1. Open SSMS
    2. Create new query
    3. Click Save
I see "Documents\SQL Server Management Studio" folder, but I want to change it to be "d:\". How do I do this?
    I tried:
    1. http://visualstudiohacks.com/options/changing-the-my-projects-folder-location-and-other-settings-in-ssms/ - in folder "Documents\SQL Server Management Studio\Settings\SQL Server Management Studio\" there is a file NewSettings.vssettings,
setting it to "d:\" or "d:\\" didn't help.
    2. Changing HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft
SQL Server\100\Tools\Shell VisualStudioProjectsLocation didn't help too. There is no "Shell" under "110\Tools\"
Did I do something wrong, or is there another way?

    try this

    Hi Praveen,
Based on my test, the solution in the link your post  works in SSMS of SQL Server 2005, 2008 and 2008 R2 version. However, in SQL Server 2012, the configuration of SSMS is changed.

  • Set and save preferences/default in Save-For-Web?

I used PE2 forever, even as my Mac OS updated. Now, however, on Snow Leopard, I had to get PE8, and I'm a little lost. In PE2, if I used the same custom setting in Save-For-Web, after awhile, it just kept it and that somehow became my default. It was marvelous. Now, in PE8, the JPG quality is always set to 0. I would like to set it to something I like (I am not completely happy with the presets), and have that come up as the default. Thank you very much for all of  your help.
    Bantymom

*sigh* That does seem to be the case. It will remember the same setting for that one picture, but not for the rest of them in my project bin, so not even from opening the program until it is closed. Such a shame. Reset, of course, works just fine. But thank you for answering it for me.
    Cheers,

  • How can I make the external hard drive my default to save everything on it?

    Hi everyone,
I have a new Macbook with retina but I had to buy the one with lower Flash Disk space and faster processor,
but when I realized that I could buy external hard drives I bought one, so I was wondering if I could change the default Flash Drive to the external one so apps and all my files, music and content save in this one instead of the one inside the mac
    thank you for your time

    what does SSD mean???
SSD is the internal flash memory.
Use SuperDuper! or Carbon Copy Cloner to "clone" (exact copy) the SSD to the external.
Then go to System Preferences > Startup Disk and select the external HD as the startup disk.

  • Is there a way to change the default image save to .jpg rather than.bmp?

Currently the default save is a .bmp file.  I do not see a way to change this in the <edit> <preferences> area.  Also is there a way to export/save a designated area on a pdf as a .jpg image file rather than the options given: Word, Exel, Powerpoint, .rtf, html, etc.  I currently have to take a snapshot (often clicking this twice) and then opening it in photoshop, then changing it to black and white (if needed) in order to save it as a .jpg

  • How to set default, rendered save directory please?

So every time I want to export (share) my movie to my PC, the default location is always "My Documents".
I have set all Scratch Disk locations for my preferred folder, not My Documents.
Is there a location where I can input a default "Share To" directory. It's a pain to navigate (Browse) through my PC every time to save to my preferred directory.
    Thanks for your time.
    Chris

The only way I have found to make the share directory stick is in a Quick Share preset. You get a chance to save the current export settings to a Quick Share preset just after the export has completed. On the panel where you see the green checkmark and "Save Completed," there is a "Save as Quick Share" button further down that you click to create a Quick Share.
The next time you want to export using those same settings, instead of going through all the steps, just use the Quick Share preset that you saved and your path should be ready to go.

  • IDisk in Tiger 10.4.2

I can not get the iDisk to work...when i click on the iDisk icon that opens a finder window with the folders in iDisk...it continuely triesto sync and never goes online to view the content of the folders. However I know the password is correctly setup because the new Backup 3.0 is able to sync items to iDisk directly.
Is iDisk working in 10.4.2 or is there a trick to get the sync working and view the contents of iDisk in the finder....

I thought iDisk and Panther were pretty bad, until Tiger came along. I couldn't believe it could get worse, but it did. I've given up not only on auto sync, but even on manual sync (which is what I used in Panther). So I've eliminated the local copy of the iDisk. I keep a copy of what is on the iDisk, but not the "syncable" image, just my own folders and files that are on it. Also, I no longer even bother to try mounting the iDisk in the Finder--it takes many minutes, during which time the Finder is completely useless. I've seen it take up to 15 or 20 minutes to mount! As I said, I do have my files and folders in their own iDisk folder. When I want to make changes I do them there, then use Goliath to move the added or altered items from my hard drive to the iDisk.

  • Thunderbird - Change default email 'save as' extension

Saving an email as '.txt' allows the content to be checked without the risk of triggering a 'nasty'. The default 'Save as' uses '.eml' but it would be handy to allow the default to be changed to '.txt' as I've never yethad cause to save an email as '.eml'.

I don't know of any way to change the default to txt, but another possibility is to install [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools/ ImportExportTools] and choose the text format from the message right-click menu.

  • Can not use default screen saver with this version of Mac OS X

    Hello,
I created a 10.6.4 image on a Mac Pro that I have installed on a new 27" iMac. Every thing works fine, as expected, except the screen savers (all Apple default). All screen savers appear in the list when booted off the Mac Pro, but when booted off the iMac, all but 2 disappear (Computer Name and Flurry). Also, the ones listed under Pictures show up, but when I try to use one it says "Can not use 'screen saver name' with this version of Mac OS X - Contact your vendor."
Also, the flurry screen saver runs extremely slow.
Unfortunately, I don't have another iMac to compare versions with, but I've compared with a new Macbook Pro and they are exactly the same. Is there a cache or a pref I can flush?

The old screensavers were about the first things that didn't work when moving to Snow Leopard, so my guess would be the iMac is booting in 32-bit vs 64-bit mode (or whichever mode is incompatible with your screensavers).

  • Change Expense report default to Save and Send

I have been looking for a way to override the default in an expense report to be the Save and Send radio button instead of the Save radio button.
I have worked within the configuration and the FITE_EXPENSES webdynpro configuration, but cannot identify any area to change this.  Has anyone been able to override this SAP standard default to go to Save and Send?
    JLM

There is no setting in standard to make "save and send" the default setting, but how about the option of also hiding the 'save' radio button via the content administration, that is one possibility?
I also saw a suggestion to add modificationby adding an implicit enhancement implementation before the end method statement of the mehtod CONFIGURESAVESTATUS of the component controller of view fite_vc_review. example
    for the enhancement:
    elem_generaldata->set_attribute(
          exporting
            name =  `SETTL_STATUS`
            value = cl_fitv_constants=>gc_settled_status_requested ).
Of course this is a modification however..
Also check your setting for tcode PE03 for feature TRVPA for WRP, here you can select various status' on save"
The documentation in PE03 explains more
    "Entry "WRP" for Employee Self-Service:
The entry "WRP" allows you to control the dialog for saving a trip. The
settings apply to the Employee Self-Service (ESS). With some statuses, a
distinction must be made between the process steps "Temporary Save" and
    "Save and Send."
    Hope these suggestions help.

  • Default Open-Save Folder

Up until recently whenever opening and/or saving a document in Photoshop CS2 the default save or open location would be from where the document originated. Now the default has become the user/document folder. This only
seems to happen in Photoshop. All other applications seem to be behaving
    normally.
Anyone have any thoughts? I've run all the standard maint. utilities and have
dumped the Finder and Photoshop pref. files...

In finder, select Go menu>Go to Folder, and go to "/volumes".
Volumes is where an alias to your hard drive ("/" at boot) is placed at startup, and where all the "mount points" for auxiliary drives are created for you to access them. This folder is normally hidden from view.
Drives with an extra 1 on the end have a side-effect of mounting a drive with the same name as the system already think exists. Try trashing the duplicates with a 1 or 2 if there are no real files in them, and reboot.
