DefaultValue in BIP data template's parameter is not working

Hi,
I have given the below in BIP data template and submit the concurrent program(in R12 ) without parameter. But the below given default value has not been taken by the program.
<parameter name="P1" dataType="character" defaultValue="abc"/>
How to pass the default value in BIP data template.
Regards,
P.Kalidoss

Hi,
The data type is optional... so perhaps try
<parameter name="P1" defaultValue="abc"/>
Alternatively, 'parameters data types' can only be String, Integer, Boolean, Date or Float so perhaps try something like this...
<parameter name="P1" dataType="String" defaultValue="abc"/>
Hope this helps
Regards,
Daniel

This is a guess, but I suspect that ords_services.add_parameter() is not required at all.
Also, your URL /demo_product_info/10/ should not have the trailing slash (according to your template URI).
For more information, I suggest you look here:
    ords.3.0.0.343.07.58.zip\ords.war\scripts\migrate\core\ords_migrate.plb
The migration package will show what is usually done for templates that already exist within APEX 4.2. I checked my templates and the ones with URI variables {in-curly-brackets} contain no records in apex_040200.wwv_flow_rt$parameters.

  • Date parameter does not work in SharePoint 2010 report using SQL 2008 Server Reporting Service

    Here is the settings:
SharePoint 2010 with SQL server 2008 reporting services configured
When create a report for a SP list using SQL server report builder (3.0) the date parameter does not work.
The data parameter is set as "date and time" type and field name equals the col name in the SP list
When run the report, the whatever dates I select, the result is always the same, so the parameters do not take any effect.
    Is any step missing?
    Thanks for any advice !

    Hi ,
How did you configure you "date and time" type parameter and field name equals the col name in the SP list?
Have you tested if other type parameter worked?
Have you tried typing the date format as 20140722 in your date parameter filed before run the report?

  • Oracle date parameter query not working?

    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/14539489/oracle-date-parameter-query-not-working
Trying to run the below query, but always fails even though the parameter values matches. I'm thinking there is a precision issue for :xRowVersion_prev parameter. I want too keep as much precision as possible.

  • Between Date parameter is not working.

    Hi All,
This is my Dataset query. Other filters are working fine. I am getting out put when i select date range. But Its not working when i select Null Option (That time i should get all the data).  but Its not working.
    SELECT DISTINCT

Can anyone correct this query or suggest any alternatives
    Thanks in Advance

Thanks for reply. Actually with the code i have pasted i am able to get output for Between date. but the problem is I have 5 Filters . when i select null. Its not considering the filters. Instead of that it is considering all data.
PFB screenshot for filter.. Please help to rectify this
See the way I wrote WHERE clause. If you write like that it will still apply the other filters even when date is NULL
where BU in (@BU) and Level In (@Level) and [Accreditation Name] in (@AccreditationName)
and ([Accreditation Start Date] >= @Eligibility_StartDate or @Eligibility_StartDate is null)
and ([Accreditation Start Date] < @Eligibility_Enddate+1 or @Eligibility_Enddate is null)

  • CR2008 . Net App - Parameters and Parameter Panel Not working

    Post Author: cehowski
    CA Forum: Crystal Reports
I have a CR2008 report with one parameter, which works fine when running it in CR2008.  I have an app developed in VS2005 (which should have been updated when I installed Crystal and re-built the app).  The new "Sort Labels" work fine, so the Viewer should be OK (the right version).  When I open the report in the app, the parameter does not modify the report in anyway, whether a new value is added when it first opens, or I try to change the value using the Parameter panel after it is opened.  I've tried Saving with and without data, discarding saved data on refresh, and one or two other properties that seemed like they might have an effect.  None of them did.  Everything works fine within CR2008 - it is only in VS2005, using the Version 12 viewer, that the parameter does not work (all records are returned by the way).
    Any ideas will be appreciated.

    Carolyn,
Firewall is off. No antivirus. Switching Little snitch on an off makes no difference.
Just tried ot connect to the App Store again, and it says no connection, connect anyway.....I click connect, and the entire window flashes balck and white and I can see data traffic to and from the app via little snitch.....the black screen is it trying to load the page but not getting through.
    Strange.

  • 'Get All New Data Request by Request' option not working Between DSO n Cube

    Hi BI's..
Could anyone please tell me why the option ' Get one Request only' and  'Get All New Data Request by Request' is not working in DTP between Standard DSO and InfoCube.
    Scenario:
I have done the data load by Yearwise say FY 2000 to FY 2009 in Infopackage and load it to Write-optimised DSO (10 requests) and again load Request by request to Standard DSO and activate each request. I have selected the option in DTP's to  'Get All New Data Request by Request' and its working fine between WDSO and SDSO. But not working between Cube and SDSO. While Execute DTP its taking as a single request from SDSO to Cube.( 10 request to single request).
    Regards,
    Sari.

    Hi,
How does your DTP setting looks like from below options ? It should be change log, assuming you are not deleting change log data.
    Delta Init. Extraction from...
    - Active Table (with archive)
    - Active Table (without archive)
    - Archive ( full extraction only)
    - Change Log
Also if you want to enable deltas, please do not delete change log. That could create issue while further update from DSO.
    Hope that helps.

It couldnu2019t be easier! In our next tutorial, we will be looking at how to use this feature to create cascading parameter fields, where the values are filtered by the preceding selection.
    Dynamic Parameters in Action
My question is that whether dynamic parameter is working with storedprocedure or not.
When i added one table and try to fetch records using dyanmic prameters. after that i am not be able to find the dynamic parameter option when i referesh my report.
One more thing when i try the static parameter for my report, the option i see when i referesh the screen.

    Hi Kishore,
I have tested the issue step by step by following you description, while the first issue works well in my local environment. Based on my research, this can be caused by the lookup expression or it indeed return Male value based on the logic. If you use the
expression below, it will indeed only return the Male record. So please try to double-check the record in the two datasets and the expression in your environment:
    =lookup(first(Fields!ProgramID.Value,"DataSet1"),Fields!ProgramID.Value,Fields!Gender.Value,"DataSet2")
As to the second issue, please try to use the following expression:
    =Count(Lookup(fields!ProgramID.value,fields!ProgramID.value,fields!Gender.value,"DataSet2"))
Besides, if this issue still exist, in order to trouble shoot this issue more efficiently, could you please post both the .rdl  file with all the size properties to us by the following E-mail address?  It is benefit for us to do further analysis.

  • BIP Report in Siebel mobile is not working in languages other than English

    Hi,
We have upgraded our Siebel from 7.8 to Siebel 8.1 and in that we have moved from Actuate to BIP Reports. We have created a customized report in which we have put in the Filters on '.rtf' file to show a particular set of data. This report is deployed for 3 languages : English (ENU), Portuguese (PTB) and Spanish (ESN).After deploying this report, on Web application, it is working fine for all the languages but we are facing an issue on mobile client, the report is only working fine in ENU but for other languages(PTB & ESN) it is failing (means the filter which we put on '.rtf' is not working on other languages).
Is anybody face this issue and what will be the solution for this?

    Hi
I think you need to first translate the smartform into other languages. Before translation, it wont work.
    Steps for translation:
    1. goto Transaction SE63
    2. in R3 Enterprise select form menu
Translation - ABAP Objects - Other long texts
    3. select FS - SSF-Smart Form
    4. Object Name: choose your smart form
    5. select target language
    6. press edit

  • Sorting based on a parameter does not work

    Hi All
I am using BI Publisher Reports with Siebel CRM 8.1.1.6. I have declared a parameter called "inputsort" in the CRM application as well as in the template by using <?param@begin:inputsort?> within the template. I can display the current value of the parameter using <?$inputsort?> without issues.
However, when I try using this parameter for sorting, it doesn work:
The report is created for a list of event attendees. When I do this, sorting works:
    <?for-each:EeventsEventCheckAttendee?><?sort:ContactLastName?>
BUT when I do this, sorting does not work:
    <?for-each:EeventsEventCheckAttendee?><?sort:$inputsort?>
although the parameter $inputsort does have a value of "ContactLastName".
    What could be the reason??

never mind, I found the solution myself. For some reason, the correct way is:
    <?for-each:EeventsEventCheckAttendee?><?sort:./*[name(.) = $inputsort]?>
I don't know why, but it works.

  • Save a published Access services database site as a template with contents does not work

    Hi
I have a Access site on the SharePoint. I wanted the site to be duplicated to another subsite, I then did the usual - save site as a template with contents and made a copy of it, however it does not work. I have been getting the error as stated below
error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)
Query execution failed for dataset 'Default'. (rsErrorExecutingCommand)
For more information about this error navigate to the report server on the local server machine, or enable remote errors
However, it works if I make a local copy and publish it to the subsite? How does access services work on SharePoint and why the template option can't be chosen.

  • Parameter filter not working in child report - SSRS

I have two reports, one summary report which will serve as a parent report and another is a detail report which is the child report. You can navigate to the child report, once you click a field which has a drill through action from the summary report.
I don't have a problem passing the parameter values from the parent to the child report. My problem is, when I am trying to filter the child report using visible parameters which has default and available values from datasets, the child report does not show
and filter the information. It only shows the information based on the parameter value it received from the parent report.
Is there any workaround for this? Thanks in advance for your answers.
    manikantan

    Hi manikantan,
Based on my understanding, you create a drill through action in a main report, and you also specify a parameter to run the drill through report in Action properties. After drilling through to the target report, you want to select different values from the
drop-down list of the parameter to filter data, though the parameter has been passed from the main report, right?
In Reporting Services, if we have specified parameters for the drill through report in a main repot, after drill through to the target report, the report is already filtered. At that moment, we can’t select the parameter values from drop-down list to filter
drill through report. In a word, if we pass parameters from main report to drill through report, we are not able to filter report by selecting parameter values in a drill through report.
In your scenario, if you want to filter drill through report after drill through action occurs, please don’t specify parameters for the drill through report in Action properties. Then when you drill through to the target report, you can select parameter
    values to filter data.
    Reference:
Add a Drillthrough Action on a Report (Report Builder and SSRS)
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

I have used parameter in BI Publisher 10g for HTTP(XML Feed) dataset to have dynamic url which worked by using ${p_url} where p_url is the parameter.
The same procedure when I use in BI Publisher 11g is not working. It does not consider the parameter ${p_url} and throws the following exception
    *oracle.xdo.dataengine.datasource.plugin.DataAccessException: java.lang.Exception: java.net.MalformedURLException: no protocol: ${p_url}*
    Has anyone faced this issue?
Please let me know if am doing something incorrect here.
    Thanks &Regards,
    Balaji

    Thanks for your reply.
In BI Publisher 10 g we are using it this way ${p_url}.
p_url is the parameter which gives us the entire URL for the XML feed.
    e.g. p_url=http://rss.news.yahoo.com/rss/topstories
The p_url takes the entire url.
Please let me know if this can be done the same way in 11g.
    Thanks,
    Balaji

  • Characteristic "Master Data" setting in Query definition not working?

    Hi,
I am having a problem with a query definition. (BI 7.0)
The query comprises the following definition which relate to displaying Milestone dates for respective projects in a time series so the dates are populated in the correct column in a time series:
    Filter
Project Definition = Fixed Single Project Definition
    Fiscal Year Variant = K4
Project Profit Centre = Hierarchy Node
Project Plant = Fixed Single Value
    Free Chars
    Network
    Network Activity
    Activity Element
    Rows
    Project Plant
    Project Profit Centre (With hierarchy)
    Project Definition
Milestone Type  (Setting in characteristic to pick up Master Data)
CSR Relevant    (Setting in characteristic to pick up Master Data)
          Structure
               Actual
               Scheduled
(Actual:  Value type = Actual,  Origin = Manual ,Event = Start)
(Scheduled:  Value type = Actual,  Origin = Scheduled ,Event = Start)
    Columns
Key Figure structure of 12 key figures in a time series
    Selection
    Key Figure = Date
Fiscal Year/Period = Current Fiscal Year / Period (SAP EXIT) (With Offset 1 to 12)
    FYI
When I run the above it comes back correctly. However when I add "MILESTONE" (Characteristic setting (Posted Values) to the Query Definition immediately after the "Milestone Type" and before CSR it does not work it just is hanging for a considerable time.
I am not using "Master Data" for the "Access Type for Result Vales" for the additional characteristic "MILESTONE" just "Posted Values".
I was expecting that it would just show all Milestone types as per Master Data but just the Milestones that are posted for this result.
I would appreciate a solution to this issue and an explanation to why it hangs when I add the "MILESTONE" characteristic to the definition as explained above.
    Thanks in advance..
    Stevo

    Hello there,
Putting Milestone in the rows in the query definition is not being hang there (i.e., while creating and saving the query) right?
It is stucked while executing the query isn't it so?
That's because you have too many records to be desaggregated by milestone characteristic, and this is indepently of posted values in the characteristic settings.
Putting milestone characteristic in the free characteristics will allow you to run the query, but desaggregate it (add it to the rows) will be to much information to read from your dataprovider (this is just a guess).
If it is being stucked in query execution whike milestone is in the rows. Try this for example:
Add milestone to the free chars. Execute the query. Filter milestone characteristic while still in the free rows and choose a value that you are pretty sure has the smallest records in the Dataprovider (could be for example value #). Than drill down milestone to the rows. You'll see that it can be executed without any problem.
    Diogo.
