Defects recording against inspection lot

Hi,
When I am trying to use BAPI QIRF_GET_DEFECT_ITEMS to write defects against inspection lot i am getting below error message. 'Record type not planned for defect confirmation'.
Kindly let me know how to over come from this error message.

Hi Gurus,
We have one non valuated material. For this material we have prepared manual inspection lot and we assigned inspection point to it. Work center & shift are maintained as inspection point identifier. how many times we can record results against this inspection lot. is it fixed that we can do fix number of recording against this lot or we can record n number of results against this single lot.pls. help

You can record N number of result against one inspection lot. Purpose of inspection point is to update results as per interval for larg time spam to eneble sufficient history for analysis purpose

Customer inf record control inspection lot creation

Hi all,
There is this section in SAP that said:
Using customer Info record for a customer/material combination, you can specify whether or not an inspection lot is created before the goods are shipped or after the goods are shipped
The u201Cbefore the goods are shippedu201D u2026 does it means an inspection lot is created AFTER a Delivery Order is created in SD component and BEFORE a Goods Issue?
Likewise, the u201Cafter the goods are shippedu201D, does it means an inspection lot is created AFTER a Delivery Order AND Goods Issue have taken place?

Dear Yong
Using Customer info record you can do delivery inspeciton at any one of the 3 stages
1) Before delivery - Delivery inspection has to be completed for doing the PGI of the delivery document. In this inspection lot is created when Delivery document is saved. PGI is not allowed before the clearance of the lot
2) After delivery - This is after PGI is taken place then the inspection lot is created
3) at customer site - this is when the material reaches the customer
Option 1 has a better control on the system than the option 2 & 3

Defect recording for inspection points

Hi,
My client having requirement of recording the defects every hour.in standard SAP defects recording with respect to inspection point is not possible.Is there any other way to do this.

Hi,
It is not a problem follow the below step.
1). Go QM01 enter notification type Q3 (Manual Defect and Notification creation) and press enter.
2). After enter system will raise the one pop up screen here enter the production order as well as operation number and press enter.
3), After that it will open defect with notification screen here you can enter defect qty, defect code reason, causes etc and save.

Hi Experts,
I have created manually inspection lot.When I was trying to result recording,system show following error.
Characteristic results cannot be recorded for inspection lot 050000000250
Diagnosis
You cannot record any characteristic results for this inspection lot. The material master has been set up for the existing inspection type in such a way that results recording is not supported.
Please help.

The inspection plan is missing for this lot. The lot will have CRTD status.
Please create in QP01 inspection plan with the usage you have maintained for 05 inspection. Assign this in QA02 > inspection specification > tasklist/spec Tab

New inspection lot after SPCO status

We are creating an inspection with "early lot creation" option. Later we post partially stock (1000 KG) to process order. That stock is posted against Inspection lot-1 for batch-1. So businedd do inspection and post stock from QI to UNR. So system update status SPCO(Stock posting completed) but we haven't made UD and still production is under progress.
Next day business post again 1000 KG to same process order and same batch number, but system creates new inspection lot for same batch-1. Can we stop system to creating new inspection lot for same batch and process order combination? Per our requirements system should updated new stock to excisting insp lot instead of creating new one.
I have tried all different options of "Control InspLot" but in all cases system does create new lot once SPCO status has been set.

Give the UD when you release the first set of quantity. Then system wont create inspection lot again if you do the GR.

Hi,
Normally document will be attached in Inspection method , which inturn will be attached to MIC and subsequently you can see this in result recording screen.
By this way it is attached to the inspection lot.
If you are in ECC 6.0 , In the Quality Inspector role, you can display, upload, and delete documents during results recording for inspection lots.

Manual Inspection Lot for Inspection Lot Origin '04'

Dear SAPians,
We are presently getting Automatic Inspection lot with the Closing of Process order against Inspection Lot Origin '04'. Now there is a requirement came to generate Manual inspection lot against Inspection Lot Origin '04' but System is STOPPING US and giving an Error Msg. You Cannot Enter A Material for the Specified Origin. I feel that there is some customizing issue. Please suggest.

Yes Atul,
The system is correcting you, remember the 04 type lot triggers in reference to the Order!!!!
So don't enter the Material, just enter the Plant and inspection type i.e. 04 and press enter in QA01 trx.
The system will ask you for the Order number.
NOTE:- This will be manual lot (Other inspection), so will not have the stock posting tab at UD, though it will have number range of 04.............

Inspection lot release problem

Hi
It seems there is inspection plan created for this material. You can create inspection in QP01 transaction and maintain usage 5 (Goods Receipt) and status 4 (released) in the header inspection plan.
Once plan is created, go to QA02 (Change inspection plan) and enter inspection lot. Click on inspection specification tab, change key date to current date and click on task list/spec. button, Then plan will get assign to inspection lot. Save the inspection lot. Once again if you go to QA03 (Inspection lot display), you can find system status is chnged tp CRTD to REL.
Then you can able to enter results recording and usage decision for the lot.

Datasource for QM Inspection Lot - Operation/Activity

Dear experts,
We need to develop a report for QM Result recorded for Inspection Lot having Operation/Activity number in BW
The field in R/3 is VORNR and Table PLPO (Inspection Plan Table) but this field is not available in any other QM tables.
We are not able to find any data source where the said field is coming.
Please help me out

Check t-code: SE11
In data type field enter "VORNR".
Click on where used list (CtrlShiftF3) button, 3rd from left on top.
You will get one pop-up name - where used list data element. Here select check-box table fields. Click on execute.
You will get list of table name, where this field is available.

Completing Inspection Lot

Hi QM Gurus,
In my solution I create Notifications by entering defect codes in Inspection Lot. But I'm allowed to complete the Inspection Lot or enter the final Usage decision while the notificaitons are still open. Once done, the notificaitons are automatically completed. Can I configure it in such such a way that an error message comes wheile completing the Inspection Lot if outstanding Notifications exist. Or at least can I leave the notifications open despite the completion of Inspection Lot.

Thanks for the reply, isn't there a standard method to do it rather than development. Because it does look like a common business requirement as (usually) two independent parties are working Inspection Lot and Notifications.

If inpsection lot have defect then,You can go to defect recording & record the defect against operation or nspection lot or against a MIC.
Every Defect has defect class which will decide whether the notification os to be kept open or close after UD is taken.
This is part of customization.

While creating inspection type in customization through QCC3--> Inspection lot creation >Idefine insp types->say 01 inspection type here maintain F2 type of defualt notification which will trigger after defect is recorded.
You can record the results.Then from UD stock posting screen in QA11/QA32 you can post material to block stock.This is also possible through action box of notification.

Once Defect are reorded you can go to notification.Assign the Tasks to Users.Complete the tasks ^ sucessfuly close it.Check the status of all task must be TSCO TSSC.
You need not to change the results recorded again after material is OK as this is First yield of the lot.
Then move material form Block stock through notification. & close the notification.

Multiple notification against single inspection lot (03 inspection type)

Dear friends
While recording the defects multiple times against single inspection lot (03type) , all the defects are added in single notification, but my client requirement is they want different notification. if any body knows please tell me.
Note : in inspection type there is a option of multiple notification against single inspection lot, but this is
not working (i think it will work only serial number,equipment and functional location get changed)

As you mentioned it is not possible to create notification other than based on the object types.
A work out can be make an action box in the notification for creating another notification with the help of ABAP ( call transaction QM01) and while doing this the entire datas of the inspection lot gets copied into the notification. you may have to use a user exit also.
Defect can be recorded in the item level by the user.
Sounds difficult but certainly possible
