Defenitions unavaileble in discoverer which are generated in OWB

Hello,
When I deploy in OWB a business area with several item folders then I can see them with the business area with the item folders with discoverer administrator. However when I refresh the business area using discoverer then I get the messege definition unavaileble and all the folder items disappears. Does anyone how this can happen?

Shipping legacy MSDS uploaded which are in pdf format

Do not get mislead by Questiom Here is the requirement.
In our project, We have imported legacy MSDS in PDF format. For this we created a program to upload legacy MSDS in PDF format.
The generation variants are of type "MSDS" and not "IBD_MSDS" type.
So all imported PDF MSDS are visible in CG54 as released MSDS. So here is the requirement.
Immediately after go-live there will be no MSDS generated in SAP EHS system by WWI server.
So if I want to ship the MSDS which is stored in PDF format, how to achive this.
Standard scenarion of shippping is working. but this issue we need to resolve. Kindly help if I need to do any configuration or Developement.
Note:- I am getting error as "File not found".

Congratulation. One process is up and running. Now you need to "establish simply" a "similar" customizing in context of "IBD_MSDS". This is not easy. I know. BUt it is possible. But first, as I have tried to explain, you need to have a super perfect very good blueprint. (considering your current and future situation in which you may be would like to dispatch normal WWI reports)
It is nearly not possible to explain to you the "millions" of pitfalls in your situation (but you can prepare such a set up as your situation is quite common, normal and "standard"; especsially if you have the need to migrate data (but other options exists as well to do the job)). In most cases (according to my experience in your situation) you will need at least a project running for 6 months to establish a robust process to support both document types in the "same" disptach process.
PDF format is a quite normal format for such "business scenarios" you have. The issues is youre "wording":
"After go-live for some days there would not be generation of MSDS in CG54 as new versions of MSDS would not be generated in CG54." => this leads to the "interpretation" that at later point in time normal WWI reports might be used and this is the "trick" (if you really have a very very good picture about how SAP has designed the SDS dispatch process). => coming to the main point: you will use a lot of SAP EHS standard customizing but you must develop of lots of customer specific function moduls to get a solution

OWB 10g: how control files are generated?

We are using OWB 10g within a 10g Database. We want to know how control files are generated by OWB in the file system. The reason we need to know is because our DBAs do not want to create directory objects pointing to NAS devices, their policy states that all directory objects should be on SAN shares. We rather use NAS shares since it simplifies our batch (too long to explain here). OWB has the "CREATE ANY DIRECTORY" privilege granted. Is it using this privilege to create a directory object for the path we specify the control file in the mapping or is it writing directly to this path? We checked the directory objects created (SELECT * FROM DBA_DIRECTORIES) after deploying a control file and it didn't seem to have created any new ones. Anyone knows how OWB creates these control files?

Yes, indeed that's what we were after. We basically wanted to be sure we are not breaking an internal policy that says that "Oracle directory objects can not be located on NAS shares". The reasoning behind this policy is that NAS shares are not deemed highly available or high I/O devices hence our Oracle DBAs will not allow us to create any Oracle directory objects in NAS shares. The policy states that all database data should be stored in SAN shares which are directly attached to the servers and are therefore high I/O devices. It is arguable if the OWB data we want to load is really part of a database, we believe it is not. There are other implications in our environment about using NAS instead of SAN (NAS can run in active-active mode across different data centres, whereas SAN requires replication since it doesn't usually work well in an active-active mode across different data centres). So based on your answer we should be fine since OWB reads and writes directly to the files without using Oracle Directory Objects which supports our theory that these are not DB specific files and are only "OWB App" files which can then sit on a NAS without breaking the above stated policy.

Caching documents generated from url which are dynamic

have got a couple of questions on cahcing documents.
1)can we cache web pages that are generated by dynamic urls?? By dynamically generated URL I mean this, say for istance a person views a page with a url "http://my.site.com/tag.222222_uP" and logs out of the application. The sesond time he logs in he gets to see the same page but this the the servlet would generate a different url http://my.site.com/tag.11111_uP, but spits the same content when the page was hit the previous time another page evry time. The content again will very for diferent users. This page does not use any cookies though.
2)The content that is displayed to a user changes depending on the user priviliges. The URL to the page still remains the same though. It is the content that will vary. Can such pages be cached? which cache rule do such pages follow??

yes, by setting up cacheablity rule in Web Cache using the wildcards (like ^/tag*), the above dynamic urls can be cached. This rule would treat every dynamic url as distinct and separate content will be cached for every url. i.e http://my.site.com/tag.222222_uP separately and http://my.site.com/tag.11111_uP
if the user information is maintained in the session, this could be better done with session management feature of Web Cache.

The cacheablity rule for this would be ^/getcontent* . Alternately, you can also use cookies store the user information and set that while defining the cacheablity rule.
Also, if there is some portion of the content which is displayed to all the users, are alike, you can split the content into fragments. So that common portion of the content will fall into one fragment and the differing content would fall into another fragment. By doing so, web cache would cache the fragment separately, and for every user request, web cache would send app server request to fetch the differing content alone. This is possible, because of the ESI technology supported in Oracle9iAS Web Cache.

Multiple production orders are generated for same requirement

For a MTO (make to Order) scenario, where the Material requirement quantities are generated from Sales Orders.
Ex: Sales Order created for 500 Qty.
I had run the MRP using MD03 with the following parameters
Processing key              NETCH      Net Change in Total Horizon
Create purchase req.     1                  Purchase requisitions in opening period
Delivery schedules       3                  Schedule lines
Create MRP list            1                  MRP list
Planning mode              1                  Adapt planning data (normal mode)
Scheduling                    1                  Determination of Basic Dates for Planned
System had generated Planned Orders for Qty 500 and these are converted to Production order for Qty 500 for which the Purchase Order for 500 are created.
Goods receipt of 480 has been made against the Purchase Order for the Ordered 500 Qty.
When I re-run the MD03 the system is generating the new Production Order Qty 0f 20 which is not supposed to be as this 20 Qty was already part of the existing Purchase Order and yet to be delivered .
Could you please explain me why this is happening?

MRP will consider the firmed PR for the completion date contained in the PR. If the requirements date is different, then MRP will create a new proposal (PR).
If you wish for MRP to RESCHEDULE the dates of existing firmed purchase reqs, instead of just creating new proposals, you have to set the Rescheduling horizon. OPPQ> Rescheduling (plant) or OPPR >Recheduling Horizon (MRP Groups). Start with a small horizon, Also check the tick mark for firm reciept there.
Are you getting any expection message in front of PR?
MRP will 'assume' rescheduling by configuration, by managing the rescheduling horizon, and by setting the rescheduling tolerances. These config can be found in
OPPQ select Rescheduling
or, for MRP groups

alternatively to check table CRMD_ORDERADM_H directly you can use the related transactions search for the campaign:
This should bring all activities generated by the campaign. If this is empty first check the job log of the campaign execution job again:
This gives information if any target group members have business transactions created. If the log does not contain the required information you can debug from SM37. The business transactions (activities, leads, sales orders) are generated from function module CRM_MKTTGGRP_PROC_CREATE.

Use of bookmarks of resources which are located behind a S-to-S VPN

Hi there,
I was wondering if i can create (a) bookmark(s) of resources which are located behind a particular Site-to-Site VPN?
We are using a Cisco ASA 5510 (9.0.2) with SSL VPN configured. The tunnel is up but when i try the bookmark, i get the error "server unavailable".
Can someone put my in the right direction? I'm rather new at this stuff...

I'm using a clientless SSL VPN connection. I'm not using any DNS servers, just IP addresses for now to get this up and running.
I'm not quite sure what you mean by tunneling everything in this context.

Click on Settings => Special Fields
PAYR CHECF Check number from
Save
Now re-execute the report
Add the Check number from field into the layout.
You will see the for which documents cheques are beings issues and for which documents cheques are not being issued.

GL display for inventory account which are not defined as line item display

We have inventory gl accounts which are auto post accounts , these accounts get posted when grn is done. these accounts are not defined as line item display accounts, but if we execute the T code: FS10 we get the gl balance display and not line item display.
Our requirement is that we should be able to view the line item display matching the GL account balance in that GL account.
Can we get the report in MM module line items wise display.

You should use RFSEPA01 program via execute SE38 transaction.
This program activate line item for each account. Activation means, this program generate line items to BSIS table. So that after this program running, you can see line items in FBL3N.

Today I got a ticket which says billing docs are generated but not accounting docs. I went to vf05 and found that it is indeed true. accounting doc was not generated for one of the billing doc. How can I what went wrong and how to solve this.

Please check who enable trace. Please see:

check concurrent programs first
*from the screen
*F11, then select the trace, then Ctrl+F11
Concurrent > program > define
open the form, press F11 (query mode), select the trace, then (ctrl + f11) this should return all concurrent programs which have trace enabled

The base class the rule is targetting is "Health Service" (see the "inherited from" column, that lists the class you'll want to override for provided you want to do an override for all the objects the rule is targetting, which is what it
sounds like you want). When you choose "override the rule" for that one it should say "for all objects of class: Health Servcie". Overriding that will override for everything the rule is targetting. You should be able to follow this logic for the rest
of them as well.
