I'm facing similar problems too but more importantly, my iPhone 5 keeps going off every 5-10 minutes or so. Its really frustrating as I'm missing so many calls and there is nothing I can do to fix this It was working fine when I updated to IOS 8 but since this 8.0.2 update its just not working. It goes off in the middle of using or on standby. When it turns back on it takes years for it to actually become functional. Once it does, it has little moments where the battery reads 20% one moment then 48% the other While using safari I noticed it said Searching.. (for signal) yet had 3G by its side and internet working ..??! Its really frustrating as yesterday I needed to use my phone in an actual emergency yet couldn't for nearly 10 minutes waiting for the phone to load..!!

  • I wanted to keep my locked screen display with the time and date from turning off is that possible

So I enjoy my locked screen display with my chosen picture because it has the time displayed nice and big and its a cool nightlight but the locked screen display/wallpaper/time with date always goes black after 13ish seconds of locking it is there no way to let the locked screen stay on while charging? because it is awesome if it could stay on as a nightlight also so i dont have to press the lock button to see what time because the normal display is ugly am I just being super picky or am I not the only one who agrees or maybe it does exist im just stupid please respond when you can also thanks for reading much appreciated.

Again, there is NO WAY to do what you asked: display the time constantly.
I have a clock app that displays the time constantly on my iPad. I use it as a bedside clock. Many clock apps have the ability to disable autolock just within that app. Whether there is one that lets you pick your own background, I don't know but I wouldn't be surprised if there were, based on the number of clock apps out there. While what I'm suggestion is not precisely what the OP asked (display the system lock screen), it seems it might be a possible workaround.

Is there a way to make OS X or iOS devices to play movies with the screen locked?
Like this (I first submitted the question in Vision because I also need to be able to have the movies play without video, AND with headphones as the standard "viewing screen" - currently this is not working neither for iPhone or iPad... of course there are a bit more audio narration options when using a full Mac instead)

  • My lock screen keeps freezing ios 7.1

    Hi guys,
I want to know if I am alone in this issue or if it is widespread?
Since updating my iphone 5 to ios 7.1 my lock screen freezes. Not all the time, mainly if there is a notification of a text etc. I have to turn the phone off and on and it sorts it but it shouldn't be happening surely?
Am I alone in this? My touchscreen was fine until after the update.

Have you tried restarting the phone or reset all settings?

You can still downgrade to 8.2.  Might be able to revert to previous version if the ideas below don't work.

Is there a way to add a banner with my contact info to the screen when my phone is locked?
When I lock my phone for security purposes, I would like to add a banner that has my contact information just in case I lose my phone and a good Samaritan wants to contact me to return it.

    I use this app, https://market.android.com/details?id=com.appventive.ExecAssist.ad&feature=search_result
It allows for a contact phone number on the lock screen if phone is lost.

  • Multi-Gesture Screen Freezes with IOS 8.1

Random screen freezes and crashes are still occurring on my iPad Air when using the Multi-Gestures feature, after installing IOS 8.1.  This problem started with IOS 8.0, continued with IOS 8.02, and is still present in IOS 8.1.  Apple, please fix this!  Having to reboot multiple times a day is very annoying.  Turning the Multi-Gesture feature off obviously stops the problem but is not a real solution.  If a feature is present, it needs to work right.

HHe's. A simple visit to Settings, disabling and then immediately re-enabling the feature fixes the issue. But just for a while.
APPLE: Do you hear us?  This should be a VERY easy issue to resolve. It's pervasive, well documented, and utterly annoying and frustrating. Please issue a fix ASAP.

  • Cannot lock screen even with AssistiveTouch

After restoring my iPhone 5s from backup
    1. Pressing power button to lock screen no longer works (nothing happens), but holding it down to Power Off still works.
    2. Tried enabling AssistiveTouch, but pressing Device->Lock Screen does nothing (all other AssistiveTouch functions fully work), which rules out hardware issue.
    3. Phone no longer auto-locks (screen will not turn off until battery dies).
Currently the only solution I can think of is to Restore to factory defaults, but I'd like to avoid that if possible.
    IOS 8.2

Have you tried restarting your device? Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time until the Apple appears. Once the Slide to Unlock screen redisplays see if the issue is resolved.

  • Lock screen picture blurred , ios 7.0.3

I have updated software iOS 7.0.3 , picture on lock screen and pass code screen are blurred . I have turned off phone , waited, turned back on , pressed home and start button together , still the same problem .
Is anyone else having this problem ? Suggestions welcomed

I am getting the same after running the iOS 7.0.4 update. I was fine on 7.0.3. here are the details below.
After running the 7.0.4 update on my original iPad Mini, now the device crashes / reboots randomly when I use it.
I have already tried a complete reset and restore. I redownloaded 7.0.4 using iTunes, setup as new but it is still happening.

  • No camera icon on lock screen even with double click

I have upgraded to ios5 and although there were a few glitches (deleted all my apps) it all seems to work, EXCEPT there is no camera icon on the lock screen.  Yes I've tried double tapping the home button.  It only opens up the Music controls.  I tried resetting the iPad but that didn't work.  I could try to re-install ios5 but I don't know how to do that...back to iTunes and do a restore?  Will I lose all my apps again?

Interesting.  I wondered if this was the case and couldn't find any documentation to that effect.  I also saw from some iPad owners who claimed they had that icon, although maybe I'm wondering if they were confusing the Picture Frame icon.  iPod users are also saying they have it on their screen.  Where are you finding this documentation that it's not available?
There is never any list of everything that is NOT avaiable.  However, the documentation about the camera improvements for the iOS5 update tells what IS available:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1456 states, in part:
Double click the home button when device is asleep to bring up a camera shortcut on iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPod touch (4th generation)
iPad is absent from the list, so Apple is not promising the camera shortcut on iPad.

  • I can't access/find the "lock" screen orientation funtion since downloading iOS 7

Since I downloaded iOS 7, I can't access the "lock" orientation key that used to be on the control centre. I've flagged on "use side switch to: Lock Rotation", but to be honest I have no idea what this means. How do I "lock" orientation of my screen with this new operating system?

    Hi Anna,
With iOS7 on an iPhone, you lock the rotation by bringing up the control center and selecting the "Lock Rotation" icon. To bring up the control center, swipe up from the bottom of your screen. You should see a translucent display with the control center options:

  • Lock rotation question with iOS 4.2

    Hi,
before I switch to iOS 4.2 I want to make sure about one thing first.
Is the screen rotation lock (now via software) forcing the screen to be in portrait just like it does on the iPhone, or does it also allow to lock the screen in landscape (as it was the case using the button)
If it doesn't work in landscape, then I'll stay at iOS 3.x
    Thanks for any help.

Wish I would have checked here first. I don't have an iPhone, so when I upgraded to 4.2 and lost my system audio, I called Apple. The tech had me factory reset the pad, the appologized for not knowing about the rotation lock switch remapping, jackweed. There went a few hours of my life, sheese. Plus it's an odd mute, only mutes system sounds but plays music and video audio all the time. I see why I guess but wonder who asked for that???
Don't even get me started on this stupid airprint BS, hopefully they will "figure out" how to print to any network printer.... like several app dev's did days after the iPad released, what's with that Apple?

  • Locking Screen Resolution with KVM

I have a MacBook Pro 15" running 10.4.8. I have a Iogear DVI KVM attached to the DVI port. The monitor attached to the KVM is a Gateway FPD2485W 24" LCD with optimal resolution of 1920x1200. The Mac performs wonderfully at this resolution.
The problem I have is that when I switch away from the Mac with the KVM for more than a moment and then switch back, the Mac reverts to 1024x768 with a "KVM Monitor" profile in the Display Prefs. If I press "Detect Displays" after switching back, it once again properly recognizes my Gateway and then switches to the correct 1920x1200 resolution.
Is there any fix for this? Is there any way to "lock" the DVI port resolution somehow, or maybe to modify the "KVM Monitor" profile so it allows 1920x1200 resolution as well? Any other options to fix this? It is annoying to have to have the Mac detect the monitor and maximize my windows every time I switch back to it.
    Any help is appreciated!
    T.

I'm sorry, I've been investigating this as well. I use an ioGear KVM with VGA, the one that's shaped like the Mac mini I use it with. It has gotten worse. I find that I simply have to turn off sleep altogether, or else I find I'm switching to a blank screen on the mini. Sometimes I solved the problem by touching the sleep button and then waking it up. It seems to be in a forgetful coma.
Other irritations: if I'm away from the mini for a while, when I go back, there is the Bluetooth "wizard," looking for the USB keyboard and mouse. When I'm running Windows in Parallels, the problem is worse, freezing up Windows.
By turning off sleep, I've ameliorated the problem greatly. But I still will return to, in my case, not a 1280x1024 screen, but 640 x 480. Then it blacks out, and when it returns with my default setting, windows are only half as high: the desktop may be 1280x1024, but Safari looks like 1280x512. Grr.
