  • What is the differents between Policies and Preferences in Group policy Management Editor

What is the differents between Policies and Preferences in Group policy Management Editor?

Policies: If you delete a policy in GPO it deletes its registry files form the clients. Policies don't tattoo the registry. Policies Settings are permanent as long policy is in effect i.e. Desktop Backgrond. Policies are applied at Computer
Startup, User logon and Manual and automatic refresh. Takes Precedence over Preferences.
Preferences: Even if you delete a policy form Preferences tab the registry files will still available on the systems. Preferences tattooed the registry if you want to remove the registry entries you have to do it manually. Preferences exampl
is i.e. mapped drive. Settings applied with preferences are not grayed out. Not available in Local GPO.
    Usefull for
    Desktop Icons/Shortcuts
    Url
    Drive Map
    File Copy, Update, delete

  • What is defference between RT and CRT table in ABAP HR

    Hi Experts,
What is defference between RT and CRT table in ABAP HR

The RT (results table) will give you the payroll results for one specific run of payroll. It includes all wage types that were processed during the payroll run. The CRT (cumulated results table) contains payroll results only for cumulated wage types that have been processed in payroll runs so far for the year. It contains month-to-date, quarter-to-date, and year-to-date totals for those wage types. Not all wage types found in the RT will be available in the CRT. You will have to check the configuration for a specific wage type to determine if it is available in both
You can check all RT WT in PC00_Mxx_CWTR where "xx" is youre molga. Also, you can check RT, CRT and other payroll results in PC_Payresult.
Report RPCEDTx0 prints out payroll results (x=country indicators).
use t-code PT66 to display the cluster details that is results table

  • Difference between SYS and SYSTEM user

    Hi,
Well, one of my colleagues have asked me the difference between SYS and SYSTEM user .. Normally these are the users which will be under the monitoring of the DBA .. So, how could I know the difference between these two users ..
    Please assist me
    Regards

SYS is the owner of the database and the owner of the data dictionary.
The objects belonging to SYS cannot be exported. But SYS has the SYSDBA privilege which SYSTEM doesn't.
SYSTEM is a privileged administration user, and typically owns Oracle provided tables other than the dictionary.
SYSDBA is not a role, it is a privilege. You'll find it in system_privilege_map, not in dba_roles.

  • What`s the defferences between DirectSoundCapture and JavaSound audio Captu

I use JMF 2.1.1 API and get two audio devices in my pc. One audio device named DirectSoundCapture, the other named JavaSound audio Capture. For every audio devices, it has many audio formats. I want to study to record through MIC, But I don`t know which audio device listed above was MIC. and I want to know what`s the defferences between the two audio device. I am new to JMF. Thx. Bob

I would imagine a lot of difference. First of all, DirectSound could be accelerated in hardware and would offer more features, better quality, etc. I'm not sure if JavaSound can use hardware the same way. I would choose to use DirectSound if possible.

  • Difference between Communication and System User

    Hello All,
I would like to know the difference between the Communication User and System User.
Definition wise, Yes, I know what they are for?
But My doubt is, why do we need a communication user type for RFC connections when we can use a System user.
Why did SAP designed these two types of users?

It's okay in my books for people to experience the internet as it is and not the way it was individually intended
SU01Solution already solved the problem actually, but there are some very fine peripheral differences still between the user types.
That is why asking a specific question and discussing it's merits / pro's and con's is the best approach and SAP also benefits from it.
Another obvious difference if you do a simple search is that SYSTEM type users cannot issue SAP logon tickets.
There are a few more but as I said these are peripheral and very use-case dependent... so SU01Solution needs to ask a proper and realistic question.
ps: ST01 is not the answer here either...
    Cheers,
    Julius

  • Provisionusers.cmd and Migrate users/groups from Planningweb

    Hi
Is the functionality of Provisionusers.cmd and migrateusers/groups from planning web similar?
I feel Provsionsuers.cmd is an alternative way to migrateusers/groups from planning web.
Please correct me if i am wrong.
    Thanks and regards
    krishnatilak

    Hi,
The provisionusers utility basically syncs planning and essbase with the provisioning of users/groups in shared services.
If you run the utility and a user exists in shared services but has not been created in the planning database the user will be added.
If the user does not exist in the essbase security file then they are added.
If it is a user that exists and has security settings on members in planning then these filters are pushed down to essbase.
It should also remove users/groups from planning if they have been deprovisioned in shared services.
    Cheers

  • Differnec between lock and revoke user

    Hi
Incase of the Portal users in SAP Netweaver Portal,is there a concept of revoke user.
Basically i want to know does SAP Portal supports revoke and lock user concept.
Form the Portal UI .i could just see the "Lock" option and  could see the revoke option.
    Best Regards
    Manoj

    Hi Manoj,
I'm not sure if we have the revoke concept in Portal also. Ofcourse removing some of the authorizations for a user or removing the user from an assigned group could be called a "revoke" action. But no specific "revoke" action exists. Anyone, please correct if it exists.
Lock option would be self-explanatory as this completely blocks access for the user.

  • Group Messages Not Working between Android and iPhone Users on iOS7

    Hi there,
I am a former iPhone user.  I recently converted both my line and my wife's line from the IPhone 5 to a Motorola X Android phone.  We kept our same phone numbers, but we completely switched from Verizon to AT&T.  I have noticed that text messaging works perfectly on an individual basis when I correspond with individuals who have the iPhone, but Group Messaging is not working correctly.  I am able to send messages to a group and they receive them just fine, but when they respond back to me, I do not receive their responses (as it appears they are going through as iMessages).  My wife is having the same issue on her phone.  After doing some detective work, I have found that hundreds of other users are having the same issues on their smartphones when they make the switch from an Apple product to an Android phone.  There are a variety of "bug fixes" listed on the web, but I have completed all of them and I am still having the same issue.  Here is what I have done so far...
*Factory reset both of our phones and removed the SIM cards (since we are with a new phone carrier)
*Changed both of our apple ID passwords
*Removed both of our phone numbers from Apple's database all together
*Unregistered both of our iPhone products with Apple
*Had all of my friends/family switch SMS to "On" in their Settings tab
So now what?  I read one post on an Apple forum that said that they are aware of the issue and we can expect a fix in a future iOS update...but when is that going to occur, if at all?  It is problems like these that led me to leave Apple all together, and here I am after having left the company, and I am still left high and dry searching for solutions to my problems.  Who can help, and how can I remedy the situation?
Anything you can provide to help out would be great.
    Thanks.

There are reports of iOS7 altering the settings on iMessage's connection to the iPhone. Verify that each of the iPhone and the Mac is receiving on the "channel" (phone number or email address) on which the other is initiating iMessages.

  • Difference between admin and normal user

    Hi Community,
how does the user right management works when an admin account is used? In Mac OSX an admin isn't really an admin account  because the user become prompted for the (admin) user password again if he require higher privileges. Microsoft implemented since Windows Vista a similar technique, an administrator account works with a normal user token and if higher privileges are needed, the user will get the UAC dialog to grant higher privileges. This is done by providing the user an admin token temporarily.
Is this the same way Mac OSX works or is this done by a different technique?

For further reading and improving your knowledge security beyond "root" and "sudo", there are Apple's security guides and the US NSA/CIA operating system security configuration guides.  Both of these resources are a little dated, but the underpinnings of the operating system and its security have not changed significantly; what you learn will still be valid, though there can be some features of newer releases (such as the profile manager, the lack of installed Java) that might be useful.
Thanks a lot. The link  to the Mac OS security configuration guide seems to be broken but I took a short look into the Linux guide and this is also very interesting, even if I'm not using Redhat but Debian.

And there is only the problem addressed about the difference between an users login shell and an interactive sub shell and how it could be used for privilege escalation by modifying the $PATH variable to execute malicious code with root privileges. I remember this on earlier days in Linux when the actual directory (.) was at the end of the $PATH variable. This could end in the same issue after all.

  • Difference between Dialog and Background User

    Dear Sap Gurus,
What is the difference between a Dialog user and a Background user. I have asked a specific role to be assigned to Auditors, but the consultants have said that they cannot grant that role because it will give access  to very sensitive data. They in turn suggested that they will create a background user with that role.
what is the  difference between a dialog user and a backgroud user and how it relates to sensitivity of data ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Diwakar

Dialog user type is your "typical" user type for people who log in to SAP & use it in their day to day work.
Background user is used to schedule batch & background jobs and basically run stuff in the background (hence the name).  The most important thing to know is that you cannot login with a Background user which renders the recommendation of your consultant rather irrelevant and given the required use of it, a demonstration that they may not quite know as much as they profess to do.
Each user type can only do what is defined by it's roles (in most cases).  If a role assigned to a dialog user gives access to very sensitive data then it will give the same access to a background user and this is not too hard to exploit.
Furthermore, it is usually expected for auditors to have access to sensitive data (depending on what they are auditing) however they should only be displaying this data.  They need no change access, and should not be requesting it, a wide access display role covering functional & technical display roles & access to display table data should suffice for 99% of audits.  If someone suggests that this access can only be assigned to a background role then I am surprised unless there are some very specific circumstances.
