Define access rights for the secured dimensions

I could not able to see the Entity Dimension when we define access from Member Access Prifiles.
Can you please let me how to get that populated the Entity Dimension.
Thank you,
Raju

Thanks a lot Patrick
By taking with your points - Now I can able to see the dimension.
More in detail:
Select the Application from Admin Console
Click on Modify Application from Application Tasks
From the Application Dimensions->Select the Dimension "Entity" and Click on "Secured" button
and Finally -> Click on Modify Application to save the changes
Now we can able to see the Dimension from Member Access Profile.

    Hello,
    I have created a universe UNX on top of a sql table. and i used this UNX via query browser to create a dahsboard. when i run this dashboard with "administrator" the dashboard runs but when i run with any other user it shows the below error. I have checked the connections user security and the i have given "full rights" to the user group and also the universe user security has "full rights" but still i get this error. How do i solve this issue. Couldnt find where the authorization is missing. Please help

    Hi Arjit,
    I have object level security set in universe security for my universe folder in which i have all universes as below. "Everyone" is the user group i am trying to access which is showing error and administrator works fine.
    I also have set some universe security on the particular universe i am using as below:
    User security is set to full control for user group "everyone"..

  • [SOLVED]change default access creation rights for the users

    Hi!
    When a user creating folders or files it will allow full access to all users who are in the same group.
    How can I make the changes to be default instead of using chmod always?

    Here is an example with some entries from my smb.conf
    security = share
    guest account = windowstools
    [WT]
    path = /home/Windows/Win-tools
    public = yes
    writeable = yes
    create mask = 0000
    guest ok = yes
    browseable = yes
    read only = no
    Windows XP is connected to my Linux share. I want be able to create folders and have access within Linux and Windows with rwx rights for the group. For now files created from Windows getting default rights 755 (rwx,xr,xr).
    windowstools:andy = is XP username/group
    andy:andy = Arch Linux username/group
    Windows XP is full updated (got problem once with connection to samba after update, got wait until next updates will come -.- , when new windows updates came XP could be connected to samba again, was a bug as I hoped).
    I am starting/restarting samba with script like
    #!/bin/bash
    systemctl stop smbd
    sleep 2
    systemctl status smbd | head -1
    systemctl status smbd | grep 'Active:' | awk -F')' '{print $1}' | sed 's/(//m'
    systemctl stop nmbd
    sleep 1
    systemctl status nmbd | head -1
    systemctl status nmbd | grep 'Active:' | awk -F')' '{print $1}' | sed 's/(//m'
    systemctl start smbd
    sleep 2
    systemctl status smbd | head -1
    systemctl status smbd | grep 'Active:' | awk -F')' '{print $1}' | sed 's/(//m'
    systemctl start nmbd
    sleep 1
    systemctl status nmbd | head -1
    systemctl status nmbd | grep 'Active:' | awk -F')' '{print $1}' | sed 's/(//m'
    and not automatically on boot.
    Windows XP is running in VMware Player on the same PC with Arch Linux.

  • N80: WLAN problem: "Define access pts. for secure ...

    Nokia N80 (black)
    Firmware: 3.0617.0.6
    I have problems getting on the WLAN. Here is a step-by-step description of what I do:
    First:
    1) "Connect." -> "Conn. mgr" -> "Availab. WLAN"
    2) Mark "HQ" WLAN
    3) "Options" -> "Define access point"
    4) Answer "Yes" to "Define internet access point for WLAN network "HQ"?
    5) Get the message: "Define access pts. for secure WLAN networks in 'Access points' in conn. settings."
    Then:
    6) "Tools" -> "Settings" -> "Connection" -> "Access points"
    7) "Options" -> "New access point" -> "Use default settings"
    8) Write "HQ" in the "Connection name" field.
    9) "Data bearer": "Wireless LAN"
    10) "WLAN netw. name": "HQ"
    11) "Network status": "Public"
    12) "WLAN netw. mode": "Infrastructure"
    13) "WLAN security mode": "WPA/WPA2" (the WLAN is using "WPA-PSK")
    14) "WLAN securoty settings" sub-menu:
    - "WPA mode": "Pre-shared key"
    - Pre-shared key": the correct one (verified with laptop connection)
    - "TKIP encryption": I have tried both "Allowed" and "Not allowed".
    15) Homepage: "None".
    When I go back and go through steps 1-5 again, I get the exact same message.
    What am I doing wrong? Can someone give please me a _really_ detailed step-by-step guide for how to do this?
    I have been able to use gcalsync (www.gcalsync.com) with the same "HQ" WLAN, but then it is gcalsync that asks for SSID and key. So: The WLAN works, I just don't understand how to set it up.
    I will be very, very grateful if someone can help me with this. Thank you.

    Hi Chrlov,
    An example of my set up based on my old Linksys router.
    1. Go to Menu > Tools > Settings > Connection > Access points.
    2. Select Options > New access point > Use default settings.
    3. Give a name to 'Connection name'. In my case, 'Home WLAN'.
    4. Change 'Data bearer' to 'Wireless LAN'.
    5. Change 'WLAN netw. name' to the SSID I had set up on my Linksys router. In my case, some thing like 'gen1xxxxhomewireless' (this is not the real one, censored by me. LOL)
    6. Since my SSID is hidden, I change 'Network status' to 'Hidden'.
    7. My Linksys had WEP set up (and that it is permanent). So I leave 'WLAN netw. mode' and 'WLAN security mode' as 'Infrastructure' and 'WEP' respectively.
    8. I set up WEP security settings in 'WLAN security sett.'
    a. Since I'm using key 3, I change 'WEP key in use' to '#3'.
    b. I leave 'Authentication type' as the default of 'Open'.
    c. I key in all 4 keys in 'WEP key settings'. Since I'm using 64-bit hexadecimal key, I set 'WEP encryption' to '64 bits' and 'WEP key format' to 'Hexadecimal'.
    Hope this is a good reference.
    Good luck and cheers. ^_^;

  • Special access right for PA20 and PA30

    Hello Experts!
    I have a problem and was wondering how it would be configured in SAP, any help would be greatly appreciated.
    How to config the security access right, if the logon user is the member of specify role, he/she is not allow to access the detail of all HR staff by using PA20 and PA30 but he/she can access the details or other staff.
    Thanks in advance!!
    Antony

    Hello Antony,
    Yes. it is possible. But for that you will have to uniquely indicate the HR staff group to restrict their data access by a Security definition attribute.
    I suggest, you can maintain a seperate, Unique Org.Key - VDSK1 field in PA0001 (Organisational Assignment) infotype specific to HR staff. This can be used in Role Component "HR: Master Data" in the relevant role assigned to exclude the org.key specific to HR staff.
    Hope this information helps. Please let me know if you still have any questions.
    Best regards
    G Raj

  • Can i set up an access password for the ipod on my ipad 2?

    I purchased an Ipad 2 for my son to use in his therapy for autism. He knows how to use it and knows that we have purchased shows and movies for him to watch in the car. Well now that is all he wants to do. I am wondering if there is a way that I can set up a password to access the ipod. If he cant get into the ipod to see shows and movies he will be fine with just playing the games we have for his therapy. I have looked online and have not had much luck finding an answer to this question. So again can someone please tell me if there is a way to set up an access password for the ipod on the ipad2??????

    Have you got Home Sharing set up (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3819) ? i.e. he may be viewing the content from your computer, not on the actual iPad. If that is the case (which would explain to me him being able to access the videos via the iPod app), then the Restrictions settings that I've already mentioned should also work on that 'remote' content.
    Edit : your last reply appeared whilst I was typing/checking this. And no, the Videos/iPod apps can't be passcode protected, you will need to go back into Restrictions and remove the restriction, or if the films are only on your computer and not on the iPad itself you could turn off home sharing on the iPad whilst he's playing the games : Settings > iPod and tap on your account id and/or password on the right under Home Sharing and delete it/ them (re-enter them when you want to re-enable it).

  • Why is the Star Transformation using two indexes for the same dimension?

    Hi,
    Recently, I have made an investigation about the Star Transformation feature. I have found a strange test case, which plays an important role in my strategy for our overall DWH architecture. Here it is:
    The Strategy:
    I would like to have the classical Star Transformation approach (single column Bitmap Indexes for each dimension foreign key column in the fact table), together with additional Bitmap Join Indexes for some of the dimension attributes, which would benefit from the materialization of the join (bitmap merge operation will be skipped/optimized).
    The query:
    select dp.brand, ds. region_name, dc.region_name
         , count(*), sum(f.extended_price)
      from fact_line_item  f
         , dim_part       dp
         , dim_supplier   ds
         , dim_customer   dc
    where dp.mfgr        = 10                 -- dimension selectivity = 1/10 --> acttual/fact selectivity = 6/10
       and f.part_dk      = dp.dk
       and ds.region_name = 'REGION #1' -- dimension selectivity = 1/9
       and f.supplier_dk  = ds.dk
       and dc.region_name = 'REGION #1' -- dimension selectivity = 1/11
       and f.customer_dk  = dc.dk
    group by dp.brand, ds. region_name, dc.region_name
    The actual plan:

    The Question:
    Why is the Star Transformation using both indexes FACT_LI__P_PART_DIM_KEY_BIX and FACT_LI__P_PART_MFGR_BJX for the same dimension criteria (dp.mfgr = 10)?? The introduction of the additional Bitmap Join Index actually make Oracle to do the work twice !!!
    Anybody, any idea ?!?

  • Problems Managing User Access Rights for Web Gallery

    Has anyone else had issues changing the user access rights for a web gallery? It seems like the access is everyone or no one. Are the user rights handled per event in the gallery? I had issues adding events to the user's view/download rights in the publish settings.
    Also, can these settings only be set when an event is first published? Attempting to change the user access rights after the event is published seems to require a re-upload of the images.
    Any thoughts?

    Problem solved.
    I had to put the following lines in the specified "0000_any_80.my.website.conf" file:
            <Directory "/Library/WebServer/subdomain.domain">
                    Options All +MultiViews -ExecCGI -Indexes -Includes
                    AllowOverride None
                    # For Password protection
                    AuthType Digest
                    AuthName "Password Protection"
                    require valid-user
                    <IfModule mod_dav.c>
                            DAV Off
                    </IfModule>

    Hi,
    Please can I get some advice on how to create an access sequence in MM (in IMG = define access sequence for purchase order)
    I have created a condition type for handling costs and want to assign a default value for each individual goods supplier.
    So for plant 1000 and goods supplier 40, assign a rate of 3% to the condition. For plant 1000 and goods supplier 50, assign a rate of 7% etc etc
    How do I go about doing this please

    hi,
    Steps,
    Customizing activities:
    1) Create the condition table for vendor and plant field.
    table no should be above 500 as its a customizing.
    2) create access sequence and assign the condition table to this access sequence.And activate the fields in table.
    3) create Z condition type and put this access sequence into the condition type.

      4. Then choose Account Management;
      5. Now choose iTunes Store Security and answer the bullet questions, then click
          Continue;
      6. Sign in with your Apple ID and press Continue;
      7. Under Contact Options fill out the information and advise iTunes that you would
          like your security/challenge questions reset;
      8. Click Send/Continue.
    You should get a response within 24 hours by email.
    In the event you are unsuccessful then contact AppleCare - Contacting Apple for support and service.
    Another user had success doing the following:
    I got some help from an apple assistant on the phone. It is kind of round about way to get in.
    Here is what he said to do and it is working for me...
      a. on the device that is asking you for the security questions go to "settings", > "store" >
          tap the Apple ID and choose view"Apple ID" and sign in.
      b. Tap on payment information and add a credit/debit card of your preference then select
          "done", in the upper right corner
      c. sign out and back into iTunes on the device by going to "settings"> "store" > tap the
          Apple ID and choose "sign-out" > Tap "sign -in" > "use existing Apple ID" and you
          should be asked to verify your security code for the credit /debit card and NOT the
          security questions.
      d. At this time you can remove the card by going back in to edit the payment info and
          selecting "none" as the card type then saving the changes by selecting "done". You
          should now be able to use your iTunes store credit without answering the security
          questions.
    It's working for me ...I just have to put in my 3 digit security pin from the credit card I am using.
    Good Luck friends!

     check if you have read & write permissions for your iTunes music (or media) folder. in finder, right-click on it and +get info+. unlock the little padlock (you may have to enter your admin password) and change the permission settings. if permissions settings check out, click on the little gear-shaped icon and +apply to enclosed items+ like so
     now try consolidating again.

  • Allow dashboard to be accessed by users with no access rights to the plateform

    There are some users which would like to access a specific dashboard without having access rights to the platform, and we are searching for a solution. What we want is a scheduled job that would update the dashboard data or make the dashboard accessible in an offline mode, but it seems that these solutions are not applicabale.
    If you have implemented a solution before or find a work-around, please let me know.
    Regards.

    Hi Sawaf,
    This can be done using "Widgets" which is one of the BO BI Platform client Tools.
    1. You need to create a separate user id for the user and provide view access rights only for the required dashboard that has been saved in BI Launchpad.
    2. User need to install widgets on his local machine, create a new host for the required BI Platform by entering the Server IP address and Login Credentials as below.
    3. After entering all the details, it shows a message that "server logged in successfully". Right click on the widgets icon from the taskbar, click on document list explorer. It shows the documents in the BI Platform, select the dashboard and double click on it. after the dashboard is opened in the Widgets window drag it onto the user desktop and run it.
    4. In this way user can view dashboards or reports on his desktop without any access to BI platform.They can keep the file opened on their desktop all the day also.. Session does not expire in this method.
    5. If you want data to be refreshed for every 1 hour or so.. keep a query refresh button in the dashboard, select all the queries in it and select a trigger cell. You can write a excel function in that trigger cell so that the cell value changes every 1 hour (OR) select refresh every 1 hour option from the bex query properties in the dashboard.

  • Specifying access rights for page tabs

    Hello
    I have trouble with specifying access rights for tabs that are inside another tab.
    I have a group named "Customers" and a group for each of our customer companies. The company-groups are all members of the Customers group.
    Then i created a tab called "Customers" which i specified access rights to the Customers group.
    Under the customers tab, i created one tab for each customer and i've specified access rights to each tab.
    I want to accomplish that customers who log into the portal only are able to see theyr own tab, but this doesn't seem to work properly.
    Have anyone had this problem before?
    Regards
    Per-Jarle Sfther

    Per-Jarle,
    Are you sure that the users are not part of a group that is included in the group you gave access to on the tab?

  • How can I have different access control for the guest network (different than the main network)?

    I am trying to control my main wireless network with access control via mac id with no password. I wanted a separate guest network with password access and no access control. However, the only way that the guest network works is if I specify unlimited access as the default. Is what I am trying to do possible.

    I am trying to control my main wireless network with access control via mac id with no password.
    Definitely not a recommended method for security. MAC addresses are easily cloned by anyone who wants to do so with free tools available on the Internet. An unwanted guest will be on your network in less than a minute if they want to be.
    Strongly recommend that you use WPA2 Personal security with a non-dictionary password to protect your network.

    Unfortunately, Apple does not allow separate Access Control for the "main" and "guest" networks. It's all or nothing, I am afraid.
    Likely, the  "best" way to set up Access Control is change the default rule to No Access, Then you will need to enter in the details for every device that you want to allow to connect for both the "main" and "guest" networks with the time limits for each device.
