Define Account Determination IDs and CO Account Determination

Hello experts, I need to know what is the conceptual difference for the following customization:
First the difference between:
Define Account Determination IDs for Contracts
Define Account Determination IDs for Contract Accounts
Should I replicate the  Account Determination IDs at this point?
Second the difference between:
Define CO Account Assignment Keys
Store CO Account Determination Key for IS-U Contracts
Should I replicate the  CO Account Determination at this point?
Best regards.

Hello,
FYI.....
Define Account Determination IDs for Contracts
Here you map the Account determination Id & Division to the company code. Thus a link is established between AID and Div at you Cocd level.
Define Account Determination IDs for Contract Accounts
Here you determine the ID for Contract accounts. This in turn is attached to contract accounts in CAA1/CAA2.
Based on the above two steps you configure map the MT/ST to AID and Divison in EK01 & EK02.
Define CO Account Assignment Keys
Here you map the Cost Centers & Profit centres to the Cocd. This establishes the relation ship between CC , PC & Cocd.
Of course again you have to map the above to MT/ST in EK01 & EK02.
Store CO Account Determination Key for IS-U Contracts
you  define the CO account assignment key that is used together with the company code to derive account assignments for cost accounting.
I did not get your question on replication. Do you have CRM too in your project?
Hope the above helps

  • Dual "Define Account Determination" under SAP Banking ??

    Hi, all
There are two "Define Account Determination" transaction under IMG SAP Banking:
    1) SAP Banking -> Loans Management -> Transaction Management -> Update Types -> Define Account Determination, which is the same as the one under FSCM/Treasury and Risk Management.
    2) SAP Banking -> Loans Management -> Functions -> Accounting -> General Ledger Update -> Define Account Determination
By trial and error, it seems that the later one should be used in Loans Management. Could anyone tell me under which conditions should the former one be used?
    Thanks.

We use product types under both SAP Banking->Loans and FSCM/Treasury and Risk, but I never realized that the Account determination for FSCM was included in the IMG path for SAP Banking->Loans....  When I learned Loans configuration, I was pointed in the direction of the Account determination under Functions, and never noticed it elsewhere.
I poked around the IMG a little and it looks like you would use the Account Determination under Update Types if you set up your Loans for parrallel valuation - that is if you need to maintain multiple valuations for Loans.  It appears the Account Determination under Update Types appears to be needed for the postings to the parrallel valuation areas.
We don't use parrallel valuation for Loans, so that would be another reason I've not needed the Account Determination under Update Types.
From what I'm seeing in the IMG, I would say that if you only need one valuation for Loans, like we do, then you shouldn't need the Account determination under Update Types - just the one under Functions.

  • Defining Account Determination for Real-Time Integr

    Dear all,
I haven't understood yet about Account determination for the real-time integration of Controlling (CO) with Financial Accounting (FI).
Please tell accounting process that use this account. And give me a detail example.
    Thanks so much
    Minhtb

    Hello
This is the new feature in New GL accounting
During allocations in Controlling, most of the postings created do not affect Financial Accounting. These postings do not update any G/L account transaction figures; they are postings within Controlling. If, however, an allocation in Controlling leads to a change in the functional area or any other characteristic (such as Profit Center or Segment) that is relevant for evaluations in Financial Accounting, a shift occurs between the affected items in the profit and loss statement. For this reason, this information has to be transferred to Financial Accounting. This reconciliation between Controlling and Financial Accounting takes place by means of real-time integration.
As a result of real-time integration, all Controlling documents that are relevant for General Ledger Accounting are transferred from Controlling to General Ledger Accounting in real time. This means that Financial Accounting is always reconciled with Controlling.
A document is created in Financial Accounting for each posting in Controlling. This means that the detailed information contained in the CO documents is always available in reports in New General Ledger Accounting. This information can be sorted by the following, for example:
    ●     Functional area
    ●     Cost center
    ●     Internal order
Real-time integration replaces the reconciliation postings from the reconciliation ledger. Consequently, you do not need a reconciliation ledger.
If, however, you do not set the Reconciliation Ledger Active indicator in Customizing for the controlling area, you cannot use the reports belonging to report groups 5A* (5AA1-5AW1). You set this indicator in Customizing for Controlling under General Controlling ® Organization ® Maintain Controlling Area. The reconciliation ledger serves as the data source for reports belonging to the report groups 5A*. You find these reports in the SAP Easy Access menu under Accounting ® Controlling ® Cost Element Accounting ® Information System ® Reports for Cost and Revenue Element Accounting.
Replacement reports are available as follows:
    ●     You find the reports in the SAP Easy Access menu under Accounting ® Controlling ® Cost Element Accounting ® Information System ® Reports for Cost and Revenue Element Accounting (New).
    ●     You can create additional reports in report group 5A21. You can assign the report group to any drilldown report of New General Ledger Accounting using the report-report interface.
    ●     From the report Financial Statements Actual/Actual Comparison, you can call up the report Cost Elements: Breakdown by Company Code. You find the report Financial Statement: Actual/Actual Comparison in the SAP Easy Access menu under Accounting ® Financial Accounting ® General Ledger ® Information System ® General Ledger Reports (New) ® Balance Sheet/Profit and Loss Statement/Cash Flow ® General ® Actual/Actual Comparisons.
You can define account determination for each controlling area. You do this in Customizing for Financial Accounting (New) under Financial Accounting Global Settings (New) ® Ledgers ® Real-Time Integration of Controlling with Financial Accounting ® Account Determination for Real-Time Integration. In this way, you use the same account determination as for the reconciliation ledger (transaction OK17). You can then use the reconciliation ledger reports to compare FI balances with CO balances.
    Prerequisites
If you use real-time integration in at least one company code, you need to have activated company code validation for the related controlling area. You do this in Customizing for Controlling under General Controlling ® Organization ® Maintain Controlling Area ® Activate Components/Control Indicators. Otherwise, the reconciliation between Financial Accounting and Controlling at company code level is not possible.
In Customizing for Financial Accounting (New), you have processed the IMG activities under Financial Accounting Global Settings (New) ® Ledgers ® Real-Time Integration of Controlling with Financial Accounting.
Activate real-time integration for all company codes between which you want to make CO-internal allocations.
In the IMG activity Define Variants for Real-Time Integration, do not select all CO line items for transfer. If the same line items are to be transferred as through the reconciliation posting from the reconciliation ledger, select the following line items:
    ●      Cross-Company Code
    ●      Cross-Business Area
    ●      Cross-Functional Area
    ●      Cross-Fund (if you use Public Sector Management)
    ●      Cross-Grant (if you use Public Sector Management)
    Features
Value flows within Controlling that are relevant for General Ledger Accounting – such as assessments, distributions, confirmations, and CO-internal settlements – are transferred immediately. The FI documents are posted with the business transaction COFI. They contain the number of the CO document. This means that you can call up the CO document from the FI document, and vice versa.
    Activities
If a document could not be transferred because the posting period was blocked in Financial Accounting or no account was found, for example, the document is included in a postprocessing worklist. You need to check this worklist regularly and process any documents in it. From the SAP Easy Access menu, choose Accounting ® Financial Accounting ® General Ledger ® Corrections ®Post CO Documents to FI.
    Example
An internal order for business area 0001 is settled to a cost center of business area 0002. The document from this allocation is transferred in real time to Financial Accounting.

  • Define Account Determination Upload Assignment GL accounts Account symbols

    Hello
Does anyone know whether it is possible to upload in the customizing of TRM the"Define Account Determination"  the lowest step "Assignment of GL accounts". This instead of manually copying and pasting the maximum of 14 rows? (account symbol, valuation area, account assignment reference, gl account)
    Regards

    Hi,
most probably you can do that (I'm not a techno guy at all, however those are stored at some tables). however the major reason for doing it manually is that normally you do this just once. Upload requires certain preparations anyway, so it might be that actual preparation efforts for the upload might be bigger than a manual entry once. also, I'm not sure what happens if you have errors in your upload file, e.g there is a non-existing G/L account in your upload file, will all error-free lines be inserted or process will be canceled.
that's only my personal view, maybe others will share their experience.

  • Define Account Assignment Reference Determination

    Hi Gururs;
I am configuring the "Define Account Assignment Reference Determination" for OTC and Securities. I find that it has atransport button in the toolbar. After defining the Definitions and Condition tabs, while saving a popup for transport request never pops up. Please let me know how to do the configurations so that I can transport?
    Regards;
    Sumanta

    Hi,
I guess you are talking about Interest Rate Swaps.
    Use the path:
Financial Supply Chain Management -> Treasury and Risk Management -> Transaction Manager -> OTC Derivatives -> Transaction Management -> Condition Types
Here you can define conditions and assign them to transaction types.
Please let me know if there is anything else.
    Thanks and regards,

There, check whether for series group, company code, chart of accounts, you have maintained CEIV.  It should have been missing at your end and hence the problem.  Maintain the required G/L Account in the above area and retry.

  • Excise modvat accounts not defined for 57FC transaction and excise group

    Hi,
When creating a subcontracting challan through J1IF01 after the goods issue through 541,I am getting the following error.
*Excise modvat accounts not defined for 57FC transaction and 70 excise group*
    *Message no. 8I402*

    Hi,
You need to first specify the Excise Accounts for the combination of  Excise Transaction Type: 57FC and subtransaction Type '01'. LAter maintain the G/L accounts for the ETT  57FC and subtransaction type 01. Also, maintain the attributes for subcontracting and movement ytpe groups. Later maintain the number ranges accordingly. The below are the navigational paths for ur reference.
SPRO > Logistics - General > Tax on Goods Movements > India > Account Determination > Specify Excise Accounts per Excise Transaction
SPRO > Logistics - General > Tax on Goods Movements > India > Account Determination > Specify G/L Accounts per Excise Transaction
Hope this solution satisfies ur requirement
