Define Initial View for PDF-

Is there a way to define the Initial View setting for a PDF document within Photoshop? Right now i have to save the PDF file with Photoshop, then open it with Acrobat and change the "Initial View" settings in Acrobat…
BTW: I'm sending these pdfs to others so, no, changing the General Initial View for Acrobat itself won't do the trick…

Default documents in PDF Portfolios - see my old blog.
Showing the bookmarks panel (by changing the Document Properties) should work for a standalone file, but it won't change what's shown on the previews in a Portfolio.

  • Initial View for PDF Package

I've created a PDF Package. I'd want to make sure that the documents in the package display on the left-hand side of the document pane when someone opens the PDF Package. There doesn't seem to be any option for that under File > Properties > Initial View. How can I make sure that the links to the individual files that make up the Package are showing when someone opens the Package?

  • Initial View using PDF Portfolio HELP

Using the new PDF Portfolio Feature. I went to file>portfolio properties and select initial view tab. I changed magnification level to "Actual Size", however when i open the pdf, the initial view is not 100%. Can anyone help me?

I'm not sure what it means to set the Initial View of a Portfolio to a given size.  If I try setting the Initial View for either a Portfolio or a single PDF to 'Actual Size', when I come back to check the setting it always says '100%'.
A PDF Portfolio will open up to a navigator that shows you various attached files.  I'm not sure what Actual size means in terms of a Portfolio, but all of the attached files are represented inside the Portfolio on Cards.  Depending on the current navigator your cards, and the files represented on them, may be various sizes, unless you are using the Freeform or Grid navigators which can have one of 3 different card sizes:  Large, Medium or Small.  With the other 3 navigators, Click-Through, Linear or Wave, the card will adjust to a predetermined maximum size depending on the size of the Acrobat Viewer window.
Now, if it is a PDF that is inside a Portfolio, then when you click on it, it should open that PDF in the Navigator View at Actual Size if that is what you set for the PDF (not the parent Portfolio).  I made a Portfolio with 2 versions of the same PNG file converted to a PDF.  One of them I set the Initial View to Actual Size, and the other one I set to 100%.  Both of these open and view identically inside the Portfolio, as well as when I open them into Acrobat from within the Portfolio.

  • Can i still use Fast Web View for PDF/A files?

Can i still use Fast Web View for PDF/A files?
In other words, just becasue I am using PDF/A, can I still select the page i need in a long document and see it before the entire file has loaded?

macjack has a very valid point, so you might want to consider a second drive for files.
To partition, you need to boot into the Recovery Volume (command - R) on restart. Select Disk Utility.
Step 1 - select the hard drive.
Step 2 - select the Partition tab.
Step 3 - select the current partition and then use the lower right corner to push up and resize the partition.
Step 4 - click the plus sign to add a partition. Then select the new partition.
Step 5 - Name the new partition and select the format. The one shown in the screen shot is generally recomended.
    Step 6 - Hit apply.
This procedure can be reversed at a later date if you find your Time Machine backup needs more space.

  • Specifying different initial views for different users in ALV web dynpro

    Hi Friends,
I need to have 2 different initial view for my web dynpro application eg: View1 and View2. There will 2 group of users using the respective Views. However the first group should not be able to see other view(View2) and vice versa.
Please tell me whether it is possible and if yes then how to do it.
    Regards,
    Saud

    Hi,
the ALV component has a public attribute - R_COMPONENT which is of type ref to IF_SALV_WD_COMPONENT_TABLE
you can call GET_PERSONALISATION on this reference to return a reference to the interface IF_SALV_WD_COMP_TABLE_PERS. This in turn has a method - SET_STANDARD_VIEW.
I think that this should allow you to set which ever view you want.
    Hope it helps,
    Chris

  • Initial view for portfolio

I have 9 standard on vista and I set my initial view to show bookmarks, but when I save and reopen it does not show them. how do I fix that? Also how to I set it so that the portfolio opens to a specific file in the portfolio/page view?

  • Setting Initial View of .PDF when exporting from ID

    Hi,
I use 5.0.1 and upgrading is not an option due to the IT department - don't get me started!
I have created a document in ID with Bookmarks to aid navigation when its converted to a PDF.
In Acrobat 8.0 there is a feature to set the initial view to open the pdf with the bookmarks tab showing - Document Settings > Initial View > Layout & Magnification > Bookmarks Panel & Page.
Is it possible to set this attribute in ID without having to use Acrobat after creating the pdf? i.e when I export the ID file to pdf it is effectivly fire and forget.
    Thanks in advance all...

No need to apologize - I'm a rookie when it comes to IS detail.
I use Acrobat Standard 8.1 when setting the initial view and IE 7. There are no security settings set.
I'm posting the documents on a web site and others that open to view are most likely using Acrobat Reader.
Not certain what I should try next. I appreciate your help.

  • Enhance initial views for cProjects

    Hi experts,
My requirement is to enhance the initial views of cProjects (e.g. Projects, Tasks, Checklist Items, Templates) by an additional tab where I want to provide a custom report. (I know that there is the possibility to add an additional tab for specified project elements, e.g. project definition, project role.)
Is there a way to enhance the startup view of cProjects?
    I appreciate any hint!
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards
    Wolfgang

    Hi Wolfgang,
The tabs on top level can not be enhanced via customizing. If you would like to add your own tab, the views has to be modified,
    dpr_mainframe, vi_tabs.
P.S: the existing tab 'Info' (on the left side of tab Projects) seems to be filled dynamically.  may be you can use it for your application.
    Kind regards,
    Zhenbo

  • How to reinstate Preview as the online viewer for PDFs?

    Hi.
I recently installed an Abobe Pro trial which has expired. It took over as the inline PDF viewer for Safari but now I have uninstalled it PDFs won't show in Safari at all. Can anyone tell me how to reinstate Preview as the Safari PDF viewer?
    Thanks

    Back up all data.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
    In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

  • AppleScript to batch change 'Initial View' of PDF Documents Acrobat 9 Pro

    Hi
I'm struggling to write a script that takes a bunch of PDF documents and opens
those in Acrobat 9 Pro. Changes the Inital View settings (ie. Page layout = Single Page and Magnification = Fit Page)
    and saves the changes.
Is this possible with Acrobat and AppleScript?
Is there an AppleScript Reference for Acrobat?
    Appreciate your help.
    Cheers,
    Alex

Well, it says Acropbat Scripting ... didn't appear to me as Windows only.
Will move it to the Mac Forum.
    Thanks.

  • 3D Toolkit - Saving views for PDF

I am haveing trouble keeping the views i am saving in 3D toolkit.
So far i have created a u3d. file and in 3D toolkit can view top view. When i save the file and import u3d. file into pdf. file the view reverts back to perspective view.
How can i keep top view when importing from 3D tool kit?
    hope someone can help,
    thanks,

    Hi Dan,
I may have a couple of suggestions to help you. 1st off, have you upgraded? I beleive if you go in the Help menu and select "Check for Updates..." you'll get an update to the Trial that may be able to handle more formats.
It is odd that you can convert the model into a PDF but not be able to open that same original file in the Toolkit
Have you tried using the context menu from inside the PDF to open the model in the toolkit? Since it sounds like you're getting the file to convert tp PDF successfully, you may want to try this route. Right click on the active 3D annotation in the PDF and select "Edit in 3D Toolkit..." from the context menu. This should open the 3D model in the toolkit.

  • Making preview default viewer for pdf files

    Hi,
On my macbook I have the preinstalled 'preview' software and I've recently installed Adobe reader. I much prefer using preview for some functions, but since I installed Adobe reader all pdf files automatically open in that program. I've noticed that when I choose the software to open file with Adobe is now listed as 'default'. Does anyone know how to make preview default rather than Adobe reader?

    Hi James,
Chose any PDF file you got already and select it ones ... now get info and a NEW window will open.
Now, somewhere ad the end of this NEW window you will see *Open with* select Preview and select ALL.
    Close the window ...
Now the next time you open a PDF it will be opening with Preview.
    Good luck ...
