hi
Either you can use the existing number by assigning your category to the available group or create your own group and assign the plan category in T code IP20
in IP20 select the group in change mode ,select your PM category and tick mark the available group and press the element/group button
or from the menu Group>Insert maintian your own and assign your category

User defined Number range for TD Bulk Shipments
Hello,
By defining Customer specific logic with certain conditions through Z table, can we have a user defined Number range for TD Bulk Shipments? As SAP std. either we can have internal number range or external. If external is opted for, then every time User has to specify the same while creating a Shipment in O4F1. There is a every chance that Users will commit mistakes. In order to avoid this can we have something automatic (i.e. System will take care).
e.g. In SD Billing we have one User exit:- USEREXIT_NUMBER_RANGE (Module pool SAPLV60A, program RV60AFZZ). With this and depending upon certain conditions (which are maintained in Z table) we can have our own number range.
Similarly, Can any one please suggest either a User Exit or BAdi or some enhancement point for this requirement?
Regards,
Aniruddha.
Edited by: Aniruddha Saraf on Jan 3, 2008 2:28 PMHi Anirudhdha,
There is no standard exit for number ranges like those in SD. However, you can try using the exit EXIT_SAPMOIGS_001 for this purpose. You will still need to enter internal number range in the shipment type configuration.
Hope this helps,

Problem--Define number range for cProjects projects
Hi,
Does anybody knows how to define/create number range for projects in cProjects?.
In the standard cPrjects frontend system, the system is taking 16 digits number automatically so i want to define my own number range as required by the client.
Hence please let me know if some knows abt how to define number ranges for projects in cProjects system.
You can also reach me on [email protected]
Thanking you,
Cheers,
Suresh NagarajaHi Suresh,
don't think there is a standard functionality for this. But you could create your own number range object and fill the data via BAdi. Try DPR_ATTRIBUTES.

Number range for Maintenance Order (IW31) - Any exit
Hi All,
I need to go for internal number overwite for Maintenance Order (IW31)for object AUFTRAG .
I am going to maintain ztable which contain order type and NRRANGENR.So,based on the ordertype i have to populate NRRANGENR in the exit.
Can you please tell me any exit or badi or through enhancement spot we can apply number range for maintenance order.
Thanks .
With Regards,
AmbroseHi,
Do you need an exit ?
You could create number range groups each with a specific number range. Then assign each order type to a particular group depending on which number range you want it linked to. If necessary have a different group for each order type.
Configuration can be done in transaction SNRO for object AUFTRAG.

Number Range for Maintenance Order Type
Dear All,
Please help me in regarding for Number range Change in Maintenance Order Type.
I have different types of maintenance order...such as PM01,PM02, PM03, PM04, PM05, PM06, PM07, PM08.
and i have to assign number range different for all the maintenance order type. kindly help how can i assign the same separately.
also in case of Notification types also.
Early response is highly appreciated.
Thanks
SushantGreetings Sushant,
Firstly, maintain all the Order Types you want in SPRO.
To maintain the number ranges, you will need to go to t-code OION. Then select "Maintain Groups (F6)" and create a group with a number range for each of the Order Types that you require. Each will be a separate interval. Then place the cursor on the unassigned Order Type and select "Assign Element Group (F7)" Repeat for each Order Type.
Notification number ranges are maintained in t-code IW20 -
No. range not found for maintenance plan
Hi Team,
I have maintained no. range for maintenance plan in SPRO. However I am getting this error while creating maintenace plan.
ThanksHi,
Check the number range customizing again via IP20. Use the groups option to ensure your number range interval is assigned to the maintenance plan category. Also check that maintenance item number range is maintained correctly via IP21.

For example, we are doing packing, then a Handling Unit number has been generated. So where to define this number range of the HU number??

A handling unit is a physical unit that consists of the packaging materials (load carrier / packaging material) and the goods contained therein. A handling unit is always a combination of materials and packaging materials. All the information contained in the material items, such as batches and serial numbers, is always available by way of the handling units.
Handling units can be nested, meaning that you can also create new handling units from several handling units as often as you like.
Handling units have unique, scannable identification numbers that can be formed according to standards such as EAN 128 or SSCC.
Figure 1: Handling unit example
Structure
The handling unit object contains the following attributes:
Identification number
Dimensions
Weight
Volume
Status
Materials and quantities
Packaging materials
Packing instructions
A handling unit consists of a handling unit header and handling unit items. For identification purposes, it is given a unique number.
Handling unit header
The header data of a handling unit is divided in the following way:
Weight/Volume/Dimensions
General data
Means-of-transport data
Additional data
Output determination procedure
For more information about each of these detailed points, see Editing detailed data for handling units.
Status
The handling unit is linked to general status management. In this way, the various physical states (planned or implemented) and other attributes (weighed, loaded, blocked or posted goods issue) of handling units can be documented.
You can use the HU_ST_INIT user parameter when you create handling units without object reference to set which initial status the handling unit is to have when it is created.
If you want to implement a status of your own, you can define a user-specific procedure for the packaging material type (see also Define Packaging Material Types).
Handling unit item
The items of a handling unit can consist of material items, packaging materials or other handling units that appear in an overview. For more information about this overview, see the Contents section of Editing detailed data for handling units.
To access the item data of an individual handling unit, select the handling unit concerned and choose Goto  Detailed HU data  Contents.
Integration
Handling units can be used in all processes within the supply chain.

MDTB MRP listHello,
You can define number range for Purchase requistions in OMH7 transaction agaist each number range number and you assign can assign these number range number to your purchase requistion document types in SPRP >> Materials management >> Purchasing >> Purchase requistion >>Define doucment type.
E.g for NB doc type number range number is 20
and in OMH7 number range number 20 has interval from- 2000000000 to 2099999999
same way
for RV doc type number range number is 21
and in OMH7 number range number 21 has interval from- 2100000000 to 2199999999

Seperate number range for outgoing & incoming documents in the cash journal
Hi all:
i want to know is there a method to have seperate number range for outgoing & incoming documents in the cash journal,I saw that there is a numbering group in ECC6 and i created a numbering group for both incoming & outgoing as well as i define number range for them, and when i tested it always takes the number range of the document type assigned in transaction FBCJCO.
define number range of the numbering group in T.C : FBCJC6HEllo,
It's not possible to assign this different number ranges:
If you check the SAP note 532888 you'll see the following:
" - Different number ranges for receipts and expenditures
For reasons of clarity, this is not provided - there are already
two numbers per cash journal document (fields POSTING_NUMBER as
well as D_POSTING_NUMB)."

Number Range for Contact persons in SAP CRM
Hi Experts,
Can anyone brief me about the contact persons concept in CRM and ERP?
How and where the the no. ranges are maintained , config settings, link between ERP and CRM?
Standard Account group for contact persons in ERP and CRM?
I would appreciate and points would be awarded .
Best Regards
SuchhiContact persons can be maintained on both sides. In our case, we mantain contact persons mainly for needs of sales department, so we set master on CRM.
How and where the the no. ranges are maintained , config settings, link between ERP and CRM?
To define number ranges on crm side go to IMG>Cross-Application Components>SAP Business Partner>Business Partner> Basic Settings>Number Ranges and Groupings>Define Number Ranges
For number range created you have to create grouping. This grouping has to be assigned manually or automatically when creating a business partner. The business partner gets a number from the number range that is assigned to the grouping.
This can be defined under IMG>Cross-Application Components>SAP Business Partner >Business Partner>Basic Settings> Number Ranges and Groupings>Define Grouping and Assign Number Ranges
For number range created inCRM system you have to define a corresponding number range in the ERP. This is necessary to ensure that business partners created in CRM system get the same ID when they are replicated to ERP.
Go to IMG>Logistics>General >Business Partner>Customers>Control>Define and Assign Customer Number Ranges
Next define account groups under IMG>Logistics>General>Business Partner>Customers>Control>Define Account Groups and Field Selection for Customer
For each of CRM business partner classifications you have to define a mapping to an ERP account group. Run transaction code PIDE and do the mapping.
And of course your middleware settings must also be in order.
Standard Account group for contact persons in ERP and CRM?
There are no predelivered account groups for contact persons.

External number range for SUSPO in SUS-MM
Hello there,
I'm running ECC 6.0 with SUS-MM 5.0 (SRM server 5.5). When transferring ECC purchase orders from ECC 6.0 to SUS-MM the resulting SUSPO is created using internal number assignment.
Thus I'm having an ECC purchase order 45xxxxxxxx referring to a SUSPO 30xxxxxxxx.
I do have an external number range of 45xxxxxxxx in SUS-MM.
Any suggestions/comments very much appreciated.

Define Number Ranges for Purchase Orders
Use
In this IMG activity, you specify the number ranges for purchase orders in SAP Supplier Self-Services (SAP SUS).
Only carry out this IMG activity if you create purchase orders locally in SAP SUS.
Activities
1. Choose Changes Intervals -> Insert Interval.
2. Specify at least one number range.
Note that you must enter the number ranges specified here when you edit the transaction types. For more information, see
Vorgangsarten festlegen.
3. If you set the External indicator, suppliers can enter their own numbers in SAP SUS. If you do not set the indicator, the system generates numbers automatically (internal number assignment).
Further notes
To export number range objects, go to the Maintain Number Ranges screen and choose Interval -> Transport.
Note that, before the target system imports the number range objects from the source system it deletes all of the intervals for the selected number range objects. This means that after the import, the target system only contain intervals that were exported from the source system.
You cannot transport or convert dependent tables.
>
so according to this , it should be possible to have external number , please check wether you have maintained customizing for SUS purchase order numbers at correct place.

External number range for measuring point
Hi experts,
How to assign external number range for measuring point ?
Regards
ShashiI have just checked and the measurement point number is linked directly with tthe object for eaxample equipment and when I tried this I got the same result the system defaults the number based ont he internal number range.
This being the case what is the business requirement that you need to use external numbering as this may help and someone may be able to assist either with an answer to the problem or an alternative solution.
SAP documentation as follows:
Create Number Ranges for Measuring Points
In this step you define number ranges for measuring points.
Notes
As the numbers for measuring points are assigned internally, you should work with the standard settings. If you want to make changes, you should always use number range 01.
