Define rate of Oxp

Hi Experts
My current config for Osp Pay is as per valuation basis /010 .
The basic pay proration was changed from working days to calendar days . ( processing class 10 , specification /803 to /801 ).
Now when there is an Osp pay ,
basic pay = full pay /30 * no. of days present
Oxp pay = full pay/calendar days(21 or 22 based on month ) * no. of days absent .
total pay
= basic + oxp
i want the oxp pay ' s rate to be changed as full pay / calendar days .
Kindly help with the steps .

Every minute that battery gives you now is pure gravy.

How to make the Billing extension to override the defined rate schedules

Hi,
By using the billing extension, i am able to generate the events at top-task level and also generating the draft invoice/revenue amounts.
But the problem is, if any bill rates are defined for the expenditure item means, draft invoice/revenue amount is duplicating.
It is the sum of my calculations in my billing extension and the calculations of the (expenditure item * bill rate).
My billing extension is not able to override the defined rate schedules.
Please let me know, how should i make my billing extension to override the defined rate schedules.

Thanks for your inputs.I have tried with the Event/Event as you specified. It is working. Now my i am able to disregard the expenditure items hours multiplied by bill rates and generate the events with my billing extension calculations only.
But i need to handle one more thing as per my requirement.
User to be restricted in such way that, draft revenue has to be generated before to the draft invoice(Same as Work/Work) through my billing extension.
How can i achieve it.
The revenue_distribution_flag is not updating from 'N' to 'Y' even after the generation of the draft revenue as you mentioned when i follow the Event/Event.
Is there any way to the restrict the user in generating the draft revenue prior to the draft invoice by using EI's.

Where can I define Rate Types

Hello,
I tried to define Rate Types by the following path of IMG, but I couldn't do it.
Can anyone know where and how you can configure Rate Types of utilities?
[Path I tried]
IMG -> SAP Utilities -> Contract Billing -> Billing Master Data -> Rate Structure -> Define Rate Types
For your reference, I attached two images which I got when I executed the above path.

I got this image when I pushed "New Entry" button and tried to enter rate type by typing.
It says I need to enter rate type by selecting a certain value, not by typing any alphabets.

It seems like I need to define rate types elsewhere before I execute this configuration.

At the time new Rate type creation you should always tell this rate type is for register or Device are for Installation Facts.Check required checkbox then you will be able to save Rate type.

When we are trying to receipt an error is appearing
APP-PO-14258 no rate has been defined for this date
Cause The rate type that you have entered uses pre-defined rates. No rate has been defined for the currnet rate type and rate date combination.
Action: Enter a rate date for which a rate has been defined
Please assist me.

Are you using foriegn currency?
If yes, You have to define exchange rate for that date.

Reduction in excise duty rate 10% from 14%

We have defined rate 10% in the capter id rate master periodic wise now if we have created new po than got caculation is corecte according but how to control old purchases order because tax calculation is not shown as per amend rate.
Pls. advice to me.

Hi,
If you are using TAXINN then there is no need to create the new tax code.
1.You can just create the the tax condition record for 10% in FV11 for new validity period. Suppose tax rates are changed from 08/12/2008 then create new condition record with validity period 08/12/2008 to 31/12/9999 for 10%.
2. Close the Tax Condition records for 14% by dated 07/12/2008 using FV12.
PO creation date is very much dependent on Tax condition records validity periods.If you will create GR w.r.t. to old PO, if old PO creation date falls between 14% tax condition records date then system will pick up old rate 14% only or else 10%.
If you are using the TAXINJ then in J1ID ,excise rate maintainance just create the new line for tax rate 10% with new validity of 08.12.08 to 31.12.9999, and limitthe old rate 14% till 07/12/2008.

I could not find the PQP fast formulas in my
instance. and yes i am implimenting for UK
legislation.These formulas are automatically created when you do Plan Design - Import (from file pqgbgapl.ldt) concurrent program followed by plan design copy. You can see all the formulas in that file.
In the payment details i do not understand which
element name prefix and rate type to put.Element Prefix: When you create an absence scheme it will automatically activate Benefir Plans and hence rates and create new elements. The new elements created will have the same prefix what you will give in the Element Prefix. e.g. if you give Prefix "PRE_" then an element will be created named as "PRE_OSP Absence" (if you are creating OSP scheme). This element will then be attached to Benefit Standard Rates.
Rate type: While create OSP/ OMP schemes you calculate how much %age of full salary your absence element will account to like full pay or half pay (you define this in BANDS UDT). So if you want to derive it from say two elements, Basic Element and Allowance Element, you will give the same rate type which is attached to Basic Element and Allowance Element.
e.g
Basic Element 1000 Rate type is RT_TYP
Allownace Element 250 Rate type is RT_TYP
Bonus 500 Rate type is RT_TYP_OTH
Let say you want half pay
then you give rate type as RT_TYP for your element. It will calculate (1000+250)/ 2 as value of your absence element. You can define rate types in a pqp lookup. I dont remember the exact name but I think it PQP_RATE_TYP.
Let us know if you still have some doubts. My suggestion is go through the above metalink note to understand the full setup.

Run block of code periodically

Hello,
I am writing a program which controls the temperature in a room. The user enters the "Start Temp", and "Goal Temp". First the program checks the "Cur Temp". THe program compares this temp with the "Start Temp"; if (Cur Temp < Start Temp) then I turn on heaters. Once the StartTemp has been reached I am ready to move on to the next portion of my code which is cooling the room down at a user defined rate of cooling. I would like to compare the temperatures periodically. This is where I run into a problem. I have tried setting a delay before the cooling down portion of my code but it delays the hole while loop (all code in one while loop). I would like the temperature comparions to only occur every x amount of seconds (configurable by the user). So for arguments sake, I set the comparison rate at 10 seconds, every ten seconds I want to compare the previous value with the current value and determine the rate of at which it is cooling. If that rate is within in the desired rate of cooling then everything is ok. Ideally this code would not interfer with other program funcitons I have going on. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can have this code run perioically?

Well, the right thing is to do all in the same portion of code using a state machine architecture. There should only be one main loop with a case structure that depends on the state.
Here are some possibilities:
You can place your periodic code inside another case and only activate it whenever the loop counters is an integer multiple of some number or if a certain time has elapsed
for every 10th iteration, you would divide [i] by 10 using "quotient&remainder" and check if the remainder is zero.

Reload servlet to a specific area on the page

I have a servlet that refreshes at user defined rate and displays a bunch of different things on the page.
I would like to the user to be able to click on a link that would take him to (for instance) a middle of the page, and when the servlet refreshes again the user will still be in the same area, and not at the top of the page.
I am using meta-refresh to refresh the servlet, and I know I have to use the "A HREF" and "A NAME" commands, but I am unable to do it dynamically.
The simplified segments of my code look like this.

Filling line capacities for different products for the same line

I have a filling Line PL1. Capacity is 24 hours.On this we can process products A and B.I have defined rate routing and assigned to the production versions in the respective Material master. Now my requirement,
If the product A is processed on PL1,maxmum run length is for 24 hours and the machine must be stopped for cleaning after this time for 2 hours.If the product B is processed on PL1,maximum run length is for 36 hours and the machine must be stopped for cleaning after this time for 4 hours.A and B can be planned on the same filling line back to back without a major change over and the filling line can be used continuously for 36 hours.But B and A cannot be planned on the same filling line back to back without a major change over and change over is required.
How do we map in the routing and where we maintain the conditions of 24 hous max run lentgth if product is A and 36 hours max run length if product is B....

In my rate routing i maintain base qty 1000L and production time 1 hour tear down 2 hour for filling line FL1 with capacity 24 hours for Product A and maintain base qty 500L and production time 1 hour tear down 4 hour for filling line FL1 with capacity 24 hours for Product B.
Is it correct?
But where we are giving max length of run as 24 hours if product is A and Max lenght of run 36 hours if product is B...

Kill Event thread or abort/restart main VI

I am looking for a method of killing off an event thread once it is in the middle of executing. A description of my problem is below (I am using labview 8.2).
My main VI is reading my DAQ and constantly updating the main control panel with the data and logging the data at operator defined rates.
The user can then select different functions for the system to execute using an enumeration and a Boolean control.
When the user selects the Boolean control (run button) an event is triggered, the ENUM is read, and various sub-vi's execute to complete the function (none of the sub-vis have visible control panels all of them use some of the data from the main vi's controls/indicators passed by reference).
The user also has a stop button. If pressed another event is generated. I would like to kill the run event in this case, at any point in its execution (long delays in some of the sub-vi's). Then I can set the system back to default and continue on selecting another function in the enumeration and run button press.
I would also considering aborting the main vi and then restarting it as long as the front panel remains open.

I appreciate the reply. I agree that the event cannot be killed, I have tried several "tricks". The code does go into the stop event while the run event/sub vi is executing.
I had the ref to the stop button wired into the sub-vi's already. Some of these vi's are fairly in depth, do you have a recommendation to continuously read its state without getting into every loop etc that is in the sub-vi? I was trying not to monitor this buttons state at every point in the sub-vi's block diagrams.

Turning a sequence of stills into a movie

I have a camera which takes a series of time lapse still photos at a user-defined rate and duration. Once done, I'll have a sequence of individual jpegs which I want to turn into a stand-alone QT movie. I've looked for an online resource to tell me how to do that, but can't find one. Does anyone know of a weblink that would explain how to do this. I'm (obivously) a newbie to AE, but I've heard this can be done very easily.

If the files are named sequentially (eg, IM0045, IM0046, IM0047 etc) simply import to AE and check the "Image Sequence" checkbox in the import window.
If they're NOT named sequentially, you can import them into AE, drag all into a composition, trim as a group to the required duration (probably one frame) then use the "Sequence Layers" animation assistant to spread them across the timeline.

How to make my program faster?

I have a program which produces two elements array. In normally the program ends in microseconds, however when I organize my program to send the array as a data to DAQ.mx write and the array will be the voltage output from my NI USB-6012 DAQ, my program ens in 40 seconds. How can I make my program faster? Is there any solution?

Program 1 runs 5 times and program 2 runs 41 times per loop. the total number of inner iterations is 25 vs. 1681 for a 67x difference.
Program 1 and program 2 have no timing information, thus spin at a undefined rate.
Program 2 does single point hardware IO and also has no timing information. The speed will depend on the hardware.
Running at a hardware dependent rate is not a good idea in general, because the speed will vary with every change in hardware and is not deterministic. You don't even know what occurs first at each iteration: the input or the output.
If speed is important, what you should do is use an improved variation (Yes, use FOR loops and ramps!) of program 1 to generate the final data array, then do a single "Nchan,Nsamp" IO, running input and output synchronized hardware timed off the same clock. This way you can select any acquisition speed up the the maximum supported by your DAQ hardware. It will be fast and at an exactly defined rate as it should be!

I have a requirement. If I purchase an asset for USD 100 then system should calculate the dep. as per below given. Only first year 25% special depreciation.
01st Year: 25% of USD 100 = 25
20% of USD 75 = 15/ 40
02nd Year: 20% of USD 60 = 12
03rd Year: 20% of USD 48 = 9.6
usually we follow SLM for dep. calculation but for this requiremnt which dep.method we have to use to overcome this problem?

As it's clear from your requirement that, depreciation will be calculated on the written down value, you have to use WDV method of calculation.
And for maintaing two rates in a single key, you can define the same in multilevel method of defining rate.

PC - Error while entering Timecard through Pre-Approved Batches

Hi all,
I have entered timecard expenditure through pre-approved batches > submitted and released. To distribute cost and transfer it to GL, i hv submitted program 'PRC: Distribute Labor Costs' and in output it is showing error'Missing Cost Rate' as cost rate is mentioned in expenditure type window...
Could anyone have any idea on this...please advise

You may want to review Oracle's documentation, see Oracle Projects Implementation Guide.
There on page 3-55 read the following:
"Rate schedules are defined for costing, billing. and work and financial planning. As part of your implementation of Oracle Project Costing, you can define rate schedules for labor costing. A cost rate schedule maintains hourly cost rates for employees or jobs. You can define or copy rate schedules for your entire organization. You can also define
or copy separate rate schedules for individual business units."
Go to the form ..Setup > Costing > Labor > Organization Labor Costing Rules
There you should assign for your operating unit the Cost Rate Schedule name.
The process PRCL Distribute Labor costs finds the employee name on the expenditure, for that employee looks for cost rate on the assigned Rate Schedule If it is set by employee, or looks for the person job and then find the cost rate per job.
