Define Reporting Times 0HR_PT_2

Hallo Experts,
we us the datasource 0HR_PT_2, so we define reporting times for BW.
It already works for our main campany, but we have also a daughter-company. So we have the problem that one reporting time works for our company but not for the daughter company - have anyone an idea what we can do.
Thanks Santra

Hi Santra/Experts
We have similar problem. We have configured as required the reporting time types in SBIW of R/3. Even though there exists data in related infotypes of Time liek PA2001, PA2002, Pa2010 and cluster etc. We are not able to get data from the extrcator 0HR_PT_2 where it is tested in RSA3.
Can you please let me know Do we need to make any more configuration changes need to to get dat from the datasource 0HR_PT_2.
Cheers

• How to define reporting time types for 0HR_PT_2 to populate records in rsa3

hi experts,
we are implementing Time and Labour and we are using info provider called 0PT_C01.
for that we have 2 data sources one is 0HR_PT_1 and 0HR_PT_2.
when i check in RSA3 there are records for 0HR_PT_1 Data source, but for 0HR_PT_2 data source it shows 0 records though the related info types have data.
i have checked in sdn for the solution, most of the replies are related to maintain Reporting Time Types.
can you please provide me step by step solution to maintain Reporting Time Types in ECC.
Regards
venuscm

Hi Venu,
You can maintain reporting time types in SPRO,
SPRO > Integration with Other SAP Components -> Data Transfer to the SAP Business Information Warehouse -> Settings for Application-Specific DataSources (PI) -> Human Resources -> Actual Employee Times OHR_PT_02 -> Define Reporting Time Types -> Maintain Reporting Time Types
Check with your HR team about maintaining reporting time types.

• Define Reporting Time Types

Hi guys,
My quetion is: When creating i.e. an absence type in IMG: Time Management - Time Data Recording and Administration – Absences – Absence Catalogue, when an Absence code is being created the system should do the following:
1. Check if ABxxxx (the new code) exists in the Define Reporting Time Types (IMG: Time Management – Information System – Settings for Reporting – Employee Time and Labor Data)
o If it exists – OK, continue
o If it does not exist, the ABxxxx code should be created automatically
I'm not sure whether it's possible or not in IMG hence it uses customizing tables and view cluster tables aso, am I right? If yes, how?
Thanks in advance and Rgrds,

• 0HR_PT_2 How to get back historical data for new report time type

Hi All Expert,
We have implemented and using the 0HR_PT_2 extractor for the past whole year. The Delta is working. Recently, there is requirement to read more data from the ZL custer table, and more new BW Report Time Types are added to extract such data.
The delta doesn't pick up the the past whole year data of the new report time type that we added.
Do we need to re-initialize the load to get back those historical data every time when we add a new report time type?
Please advice and Thx

P.s, all hidden files are shown in es file explorer as this backup folder was hidden originally. It has a '.' in front. So I'm pretty sure the folder it's gone, but as I've not erased my phone again, shouldn't the folder be somewhere in my SD card still and how can I find it using my Mac?

Hi,
I am creating the reporting time types in ECC system, to extract it to BW.
I have always used "Attendance/Abscences Assignment"
I would like to know, in which scenario, we will use "Time Type Assignment" or "Wage types Assignment"

• Report Time zone in Excel Template

Hi,
How can we display the TimeZone that is set in the BI Publisher Preferences. Is there anyway to display this timezone in Excel Template.
In RTF Template, 'm able to display it using ,
<?format-date:xdoxslt:sysdate_as_xsdformat();’dd-Mon-yy hh:mi:ss’?>, so whenever I change the Report Time Zone in BI Publisher , the output of RTF Template gets affected correctly.
But I have to do the same in Excel Template, Is there anyway to achieve this?
Thanks in advance

I found a way to display the parameter, but it shows the return value. Is there a way to show the display value as it is when submitting the report? For example i have a LoV as follows:
select test as display_value, 10 as return_value from dual and it is attached to a parameter. Then i define that parameter in the XDO_METADATA and display it to another sheet - it will display the return_value(TEST) ... Anybody knows how to output the display_value?
Thanks,
Alexander.

• Not able to edit user defined reports

Hi,
I've run into an issue recently with user defined reports. After some time, I'm not able to edit them. This only happens on some of them. Is there a way to work around this?
Thanks.

Hi,
The platform is Windows XP Pro (32 bit) sp3, sql developer 1.5.5 (although I've seen this happen on earlier versions as well). After some time, some reports become un-editable. If I right click on the report and click edit, nothing happens. I've also tried exporting and re-importing the reports, but that doesn't seem to help.
Also, I open it up via sqldeveloper.exe, but no console window come up.

• 1.5.5 Cannot add user defined report to folder

Hello,
the context menu on folders in user defined report show only two options: copy and export. No way to add new folders or reports. I migrated my settings from 1.5.1.
Though I can add a new folder directly at the root of user defined reports. But then SQL Developer won't restart (using 100% of my dual core until I kill the process).
Running WIN XP JDK 1.6.10
Regards
Marcus

Hello Sue,
I already tried the current production version 2.1.0.63.73 and the problem is still there.
In addition I did yet another test without migrating the old reports, connections etc. by renaming the appropriate folder in C:\Documents and Settings\michael\Application Data.
Afterwards I imported my own reports.
However there was no chance to move or delete any sub folders containing my reports. I only could copy or export sub folders or delete single reports.
And after restarting sqldev the same behavior occurred on the new folders just created: Only export and copy are available accessing the context menu.
Any suggestions? Do I have to re-create every single report?
Regards,
Peter

Today I found out that changing the language settings for sqldev to English by adding the appropriate settings in sqldeveloper.conf located in \...\sqldeveloper-2.1.0.63.73\sqldeveloper\bin (mentioned below) does solve the problem.
AddVMOption -Duser.language=en
AddVMOption -Duser.country=US
AddVMOption -Duser.region=US
AddVMOption -Dfile.encoding=GBK
By deleting these additional settings the error is reproducible.
In addition with the English language settings the "Tip of the Day" appears running version 2.1.0.63.73 first time and it doesn't work that way without the additional settings mentioned above.
Hth everybody running in that feature!

• 2.1.1 Problem with User Defined Reports with actions on the context menu

I use the User Defined Reports quite a lot, and export and publish these to other members of the team as Shared Reports. I'm also quite disappointed that there seems to be no further development in this area of SQL Developer.
One of the totally undocumented features of User Defined Reports is the ability to attach actions to a context menu, and pass data from the grid to a procedure, for example. Copying, then exporting the sessions report (from All Reports -> Data Dictionary Reports -> Database Administration -> Sessions) exposes the XML for adding actions to the context menu. The snippet for killing a session looks like this:

Kill Session

<prompt type="confirm" >
Kill Session?
<default></default>
<value></value>
</prompt>
<sql>ALTER SYSTEM KILL SESSION '#SID#, #SERIAL#' IMMEDIATE</sql>
<help>Kill the selected session.</help>

So to add this type of functionality to your own user defined reports, you need to export the report, edit the XML, and import it again. It seems to work fine to add this to the master reports, but if you add an
element to the child reports, the context menu items appear on the master report too, and they are duplicated many times. I'm not sure if the action of exporting the report adds to the number of times the context menu appears.
Warning - if you edit a report using SQL Developer, all the
tags are removed. Once you've added actions to a context menu, you can only edit the report by exporting it, modifying the XML and importing it again.
Has anyone else seen this behavior? Have you found a work-around?
To the SQL Developer team: Are there any plans to allow the adding of user defined context menu items to reports using the GUI in the near future?

You're right the context menu needs a GUI desperately. You can request this at the SQL Developer Exchange, so other users can vote and add weight for possible future implementation.
Regards,
K.

• Cannot salve User Defined Reports

There's a bug in EA 08.04.
After create (or modify) an user defined report, in next time that you launch Raptor the new report (or the modification) it's not salved.

What OS are you using and do you have a space in your path? We had previously had a bug where the User Defined Reports were not being saved if there was a space in the path but that was fixed for 796/804. I just tested on Windows XP and it worked fine.
Did you do a clean install of 804 or did you install over your old 715? If you did not do a clean install - can you please clean out and install again.

• SQL Developer user defined reports (appropriate utilization)

I have used SQL developer on a limited basis but I have never created a user defined report. Can someone compare and contrast the
types of user defined reports that can be created via SQL developer versus the types of user defined reports that can be created via
a tool such as Crystal Reports or similar tool.

Hi user7753875 -
I agree with reidelme that it won't match the capabilities for fancy organisation/output of tools like Crystal Reports, but you can do interrelated parent/multiple child reports.
Check out the Reports tab on the SQL Developer Exchange for some examples of what other users have done with this.

Turns out no one has used that in a long time. You will have to do some interpretive cut/past from xml given by web site & report editor in SQL Developer. Here is the "Who" report (master+2 child reports) from the exchange in a format you can use the import function from "User Defined Reports" on.

• Unifier Table name used for storing User-Defined Reports Information

Hello Everyone,
I am looking for the table name that stores all the User-Defined Reports information pertaining to report creation details. I want to create a dataview that will provides all the user-defined reports the system presently had on file.
Does anyone know about the system auto-created table name for User Defined Reports. It might start with "sys_"
Thanks

For custom reports, you can find them through data views - "sys_custom_report". I am wondering why UDR tables were not included.
The only effort left is manually copy pasting each name and information from Unifier on an Excel sheet. It will take a lot of time though. I will also log a SR meanwhile.
Thanks everyone for your help.

• HR and BW: Reporting Time Types. Any Experience?

Hi,
We are implementing BW for a client. In the HR component, instead of writing the usual custom extractors to get Quota, Absense and Time related data I would like to use the standard extractors: 0HR_PT_1, 0HR_PT_2 and 0HR_PT_3.
I know that we need to set up the Reporting Time Types, but to do this we need to get a HR Consultant in and none of the ones (6 now) have no experience in setting these up. The lowest quote we have had is 10 days work.
The other option is to run the transactions PDW1 and PDW2, but again I have found very little information on these again I have not found any consultants who have actually run them.
My questions is:
1) Has anybody run the transactions PDW1 and PDW2,and knows if they work, are there any downsides, and general thoughts on using either of these.
Thank you for your time and thoughts
David

If I remember...
To set up report times, any time type not include as reporting time type is not going to upload to BW. Check some OSS notes about this.
You first create a "group" the report times, inside this group you add the time types and especify if its measure is in days or hours.
In BW you will get the group, but not the time types included in it.

• Bind variables in User Defined Reports

SQL Developer 1.0.0.11 / Windows XP / Oracle 9.2.0.5
Thanks for adding the capability for bind variables in user defined reports. However, if there is more than one instance of the same bind variable in the report, the "Enter Bind Values" prompt lists all instances and requires the value be input for all instances. This is unlike the SQL worksheet which only lists the bind variable once. Please change the report behavior to prompt only once per unique bind variable.

Just spoke with the developer of this - you will be prompted for each instance of a bind. That will not change any time soon so I wanted to let you know -
