An iView (integrated view) is a logical portal content building block representing a visual application or part thereof.
iViews let you extend the reach of your portal to any available information resource, regardless of where it may be stored. The underlying architecture of iViews enables them to return up-to-the-minute information each time they are launched, from data sources as varied as:
● relational databases
● ERP systems
● CRM systems
● enterprise applications
● collaboration tools
● intranets
● World Wide Web
● e-mail exchange systems
Think of the portal as your "personalized newspaper." iViews are the "articles" that make up that newspaper. And just like real articles, they cover news and events from many different sourcesu2014ERP systems, productivity tools, homegrown applications, the Internet, intranets, and many more. However, unlike a newspaper, iViews are not merely static links that retrieve words and numbers. iViews allow you to "dig deeper" into the story, by asking ensuing questions to continue searching for related information in real time.
For more information refer the follwoing link
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/df/bedca2076511d7b84500047582c9f7/frameset.htm
similarly you can make a search on Page and worksets from help.sap.com
Page is a place holder where you can attach the ivew and then this page will be attached to worksets.
Worksets: are nothing but Logical groups of pages togather i.e for example all travel related page in one workset, or all salary related pages in one workset.
futher all the logical worksets are attached to the Role and this role is made visible to the end user for dispaly.

Can we define the objects (varibales, etc) in the OLAP Worksheet and use it
Hi,
I am using AWM 11g ( AWM 11.2.0.3 ). I am trying to build cube for financial data. I tried to define variables, relations in the express backend (rather OLAP worksheet) for refering it into OLAP expressions 9frontend measure. However, whenever I define some object and save it (upd command). I am not finding the same object at the next loging. Is there any way I can do this?
Thanks,

Hi,
let me tell you about my problem.
I'm programming a converter from IDML to a special internal XML format.
For example I have one Layer with three objekts.
- On the bottom of the layer I've got a rectangle. (z-index: 3)
- Above this rectangle, there is a text object. (z-index: 2)
- And on top a line. (z-index: 1)
I've to take over these objects into my internal XML. And it's very important to maintain the order of the objects.
Is there any attribute in the IDML XML structure like a (html) z-index, which defines the object arrangement?
Thanks for your help! :-)UPDATE:
In order to guard against misunderstandings, the converter is written in Perl. It's no IDML scripting with java and so on.
I found out that the arrangement of the objects depends on the XML Tag order.

Hi,
***Problem
I encounter a problem with FIM (version 4.1.3441.0 and 4.1.3496.0) when I try to delete a User object (and only a User object) whatever if it is
manually/Expiration Workflow/Powershell.
Deleting a User object used to be perfectly functional and, without any product version modification, stopped working. I haven't neither deleted/modified or add a
"Grant" MPR or any of the corresponding Sets since last time I saw it working.
Displayed error is "Request could not be dispatched" in FIM Portal and is referencing a stored procedure in Event Viewer.
***Error details
When I try to delete a User object, here is the output :
Portal
"Processing error" on submit
with the following details
Request status is stuck at "Validating" until next restart of FIM Service (after what it becomes “Canceled”)
Request’s “Applied Policy” tab does not contain any MPR where, at least, a “Grant” MPR is expected
As SQL Timeout is relatively high and error happens quickly, I don’t think there is a Timeout problem under that.

Problem Instanciating BO - No default attribute defined for the object type
Hello Experts,
I am instanciating the BO BUS2038 to ZBUS2038 and when I click in u201Cto implementedu201D and follow u201Cto releasedu201D the message No default attribute defined for the object type is appearing!
Can anybody help, please?Hello everyone,
it appears to me, that no one has a clue about the "default attribute" and is widely guessing what can be done about that.
I feel deeply sorry for that, Marcos.
At first: You don't really need to care about the missing default attribute. If it's missing, the object's instance key will be used instead. Skip the warning message.
Secondly: The default attribute is used to display the instance within the "Object links & Attachments" under the work item preview when using the SAP Business Workflow.
Thirdly: You can select any existing attribute of your business object type to be the default attribute, by navigating to the "Basic data" (it's the heat-icon within the object builder), use tab "Defaults" and use the Input Help on the field "Attribute".
There you'll go.
Best wishes,

Hi:
I want to use XmlParser in my J2ME application, but at the time of defining XmlParser object i a getting error is:"XmlParser cannot be resolved to a type". I am using eclipse for developing application. I have already added KXml.zip in my src folder.
I have imported following things:
import javax.microedition.lcdui.*;
import javax.microedition.midlet.*;
import java.io.*;
import javax.microedition.io.*;
import javax.microedition.rms.*;
import org.kxml.*;
import org.kxml.parser.*;
and actual error line is:
byte[] xmlByteArray = str.getBytes();
ByteArrayInputStream xmlStream = new ByteArrayInputStream(xmlByteArray);
InputStreamReader xmlReader = new InputStreamReader( xmlStream );
//error line XmlParser parser = new XmlParser( xmlReader );
So, can anybody help me.
Thank YouHi AnupDesai.
I'm using [kXML 2|http://kxml.sourceforge.net/kxml2/] parser, so maybe this could help you. I'm using NetBeans 6.5 and to use it I had to add the JAR file into the "resources" of my project. Then I simply use three imports:
import org.kxml2.io.KXmlParser;
import org.xmlpull.v1.XmlPullParser;
import org.xmlpull.v1.XmlPullParserException;And use it like this:
KXmlParser parser = new KXmlParser();
InputStreamReader reader = (open your streeam here);
parser.setInput(reader)I hope this helps you!

Defining the order of objects when using Distribute?
VERSION: Illustrator CC Mac
So, I've always assumed that the order of the layers determined the order and position that shapes are moved in the Distribute function.
I'm having a wierd problem today and the order seems to be defined by something I can't figure out. I'm trying to vertically distribute a set of the same shape and instead of counting the shapes in order from left to right or vise versa the distribute function seems to be randomly picking the order of the shape, not basing it on location or layer order.
Here are a couple of examples:
In both examples I have used a Vertical Distribute Center and both groups of shapes are ordered from left to right in the layers palette with the left most layer being the first layer and the right most shape being the last.
What is causing the shapes to be distributed in this order? How do I specify what the order is if it isn't based on layer or position order?So, I've always assumed that the order of the layers determined the order and position that shapes are moved....
Wrong assumption. Only true sometimes.
...instead of counting the shapes in order from left to right...
Wrong assumption again.
So first, let's deal with the above assumptions:
When distributing objects, you are not usually talking about stacking order at all. You are talking about modifying initial reading order based on the initial relative X or Y positions.
Although you want stacking order to be a factor in some cases, you wouldn't want it in every case. Nor would you want it to be the default criteria. To understand this, consider the matter of reading order in text objects:
You open a PDF. As is often the case, it has a plethora of individual text objects. Those objects have a particular reading order which is really nothing but a perception of the viewer based on their relative positions. There is no guarantee whatsoever that the object stacking order corresponds to the reading order (creation order). For all the viewer knows, the body text may in fact have been created before the decorative headlines. The subheads, bullets, and callouts may also have been created in any unknown order.
In fact, I have just such a real-world frequently-reccuring situation: DXFs exported from engineering drawings frequently contain columns/rows of text in which the reading order does not correspond to the object stacking order. If the DXF is opened in Illustrator and then those text objects are threaded, or if their text is copied and pasted to concatenate them into a single text object, their reading order becomes scrambled, because threading and concatenating text is indeed dependent upon object stacking order (as are Blends, Mesh patches, and Pattern Brush tiles). By the same token, if those "lines" of text are distributed for uniform spacing and if the result were determined by the object stacking order, the text reading order would be similarly ruined.
So for this and similar situations I wrote a set of Javascripts which I use to rearrnage the stacking order of objects according to their relative positions on the page (i.e.; their reading order) first, before concatenating the text. But you wouldn't want to have to do this in every situation in which you want to distribute every and all kind(s) of objects.
The concept of "reading order" is not limited to text. Consider a fan of playing cards in a poker player's hand. Or chess pieces on a board. Or a row of houses on a map. Fence slats. Deck boards. Bricks or stones. Holiday icons on a calendar grid. You might want to make the XY spacing of such objects uniform, but that doesn't mean you want the stacking order changed, and inversely it doesn't mean you want the XY positions to be determined by stacking order.
So unless and until there is an "Ordered By:" control with which the user specifies "Stacking Order" or "Reading Order" (which there isn't), the feature just uses initial position values (reading order) as the first sorting criteria, and this is the most "normal" behavior.
...drawing a set of overlapping squares in decreasing size order, smallest on top. Drag the top square out of alignment.
I start with a group of shapes, all repeatedly copied from the first one on the far left...Then I move up the last one up...
On the left is before with two circles on top of each other...
In all the above instances, note that the situation starts with multiple objects already aligned in the direction of desired distribution, and moving only one of them before performing the distribution. So think of the math:
You have a set of horizontal position values: [0,0,0,3]. You want to "equally space" those values. How do you do that if, as explained above, stacking order is not a determinant? How do you "order" three zeros based on their numeric values? The instructions are ambiguous. In such situations, you have to use some other secondary criteria, even if it is arbitrary; even if it is random. Example:
Understand, I'm just replying to your initial post here. I'm not saying there is no bug in the Distribute interface. There may be, and if so, the bug(s) may be version-specific. I'm not addressing what Steve is trying to explain in Post 18: But note that when you do what he describes, the Distrubute Spacing value field automatically changes to zero, even if it is initially set to Auto and you are only clicking the Horizontal Distribute Space button. (At least in CS3; I don't have later versions in front of me right now because I'm not in the studio and I don't have CC at all because I'm not going to rent Adobe's software),

InteraceNotSupportedException when getting the native object in portal
Hi,
When i am trying to get the native object i get the following error
com.sapportals.connector.connection.InterfaceNotSupportedException: Interface com.sap.mdm.net.ConnectionAccessor is not supported
Please help me.
Thanks,
PadmajaHi Sree,
Ruben has told you an option using a Notification Wait with interruption, but.... that option has some drawbacks.
1- Interrupting a previously interrupted instance may not achieve the desire effect.
2- The engine does not guarantee that the notifications are received in the same order than they were sent. (it usually does, but...)
3- A notification will not be successful if the instance is locked (by an user running a screenflow). The notification will be retried, etc... (this will degrade your engine performance)
There are more.
Let me tell you a completely different approach.
Why don't you store your object in a separate storage (like a database). You can store it (in xml) and read it. (BPM provides the ability to serialize and deserialize an business object to/from an xml).
So, you will need an identifier that will be stored in an instance variable. (and the subprocess should have the same id)
So, when you need the information, you search it in the database (by using the ID)
Advantages:
1- The information is shared between the main process and the subprocess
2- The instance Blob size will be reduced
3- You only read the object when it is necessary
Disadvantages:
1- you have to code a bit more
2- If you need the object in almost all the activities, an extra select+update will be required.
(if you use the PK, those queries should run very fast)
As I told you before, this is a completely different approach.
Hope this helps,

Defining the size of swing object which has overriden paint method
Hi All!
I have a text and I want to visualize it by my own. I use font type in the drawing which affects the painting size of the component. Before drawing I need to know the size of this component. because I want to handle mouseevents and other stuffs which need the bound size of this component. Therefore I have to set the bounds . But the size will be known at the drawing ... :(
How can I define the exact size of this component before the drawing?
ehaGenerally, you should override getMinimumSize() and getPreferredSize(), and let the layout manager set the size of your component. With this approach, you should be prepared for the case where your component is not given its minimum or preferred size, but some other size.
To calculate the size that you require, you'll need to use a similar strategy to what's in your paint method. For example, you may need to calculate the width and height of your string (using the current font), within getMinimumSize() and getPreferredSize(). -

Alignment of SAP BW objects within your SAP BW system landscape Check and, where required, re-align SAP BW Objects and developments in your SAP BW system landscape (Development, Quality Assurance and Production).
SAP BW Object differences can impact the quality of testing in the Development and Test environment and can lead to change management issues.
This check is to minimize risk and ensure productive objects are being tested prior to the Production upgrade.
Where alignment issues exist and realignment is not possible, alternative testing plans should be devised.

Confirm all developments are deployed. Ensure that all SAP BW developments are deployed or they are to be re-developed/tested after the upgrade.
In the DEV system, all SAP BW development transports should be released (i.e. transport created and released) and imported to all downstream systems (i.e. QAS and PRD systems).
For SAP BW developments not already collected in the transport collector, a decision must be made:
Deploy the developments or wait until the upgrade has completed to deploy.
o Development to be deployed should be collected, released, and imported into the QAS and PRD systems.
o Developments that should be deployed after the upgrade should be re-tested/re-developed after the upgrade.
In the QAS or PRD systems, ensure that all SAP BW development transports have been imported prior to the upgrade.

There is a minimum requirement that you upgrade to at least the equivalent support package level on the target SAP BW release so that you do not lose functionality, corrections, and data.
It is recommended to upgrade to the latest version of all support packages during the upgrade via the upgradeu2019s support package binding functionality.
BI 7.0 Support Packages are delivered via SAP NetWeaver u201904 Support Package stacks (SP-Stacks). It is not recommended to partially apply some of the SP-Stacksu2019 individual support packages. You should apply all of the SP-Stacks support packages at once.
For more information on the SP-Stacks and SAP NetWeaver SP-Stacks, please see the SAP service marketplace alias SP-Stacks (http://service.sap.com/sp-stacks)
You should also review, download, and bind in support packages for all add-on components that are installed on SAP BW and will be upgraded during the SAP BW upgrade (e.g. SEM-BW, ST-PI, etc)

Transaction DB02:
o Execute ABAP SAP_UPDATE_DBDIFF and re-execute DB02 check. This gives a truer view of the SAP BW objects in DB02.
o Check missing database objects (indices, tables, etc)
o Missing indices may identify erred data loads or process problems
Tip: Missing indices on InfoCubes can be restored by RSRV or ABAP SAP_INFOCUBE_INDEXES_REPAIR
Note: check for running data loads before executing a repair!
o Check DDIC/DB consistency
Verify database objects and consistency

Remove unnecessary SAP BW temporary database objects Delete all SAP BW temporary database objects:
Execute routine housekeeping ABAP SAP_DROP_TMPTABLES.
This reduces the numbers of database objects that need to be copied during the upgrade.
Note: take care not to delete objects that are in use as this will cause queries, compressions, etc to terminate.
BW
Validate your SAP BW Objects for correctness prior to your upgrade Using the SAP BW Analysis Tool (transaction RSRV), perform extensive tests on all important SAP BW Objects to ensure their correctness prior to the upgrade.
Note: this test should be repeatable so you can re-validate after the upgrade!
Ensure that any inconsistencies are identified and corrected
RSRV has a number of extensive tests and if all checks are executed will consume a large amount of time. Multiple tests can be performed in parallel.
Tip: Some corrections in development can be deployed to other systems via transport in advance of the next upgrade.

Note: If you perform any data loads after executing PREPARE, re-check the status of all delta queues in SAP BW and the source systems(s).
BW
Check that your customer defined data class definitions conform to SAP standards Check all customer created Data classes used by SAP BW Objects (i.e. InfoCubes, ODS Objects, Aggregates, InfoObjects, and PSAs) to ensure they conform to SAP standards.
o Check your data class definitions as detailed in SAP Notes 46272 and 500252.
o Incorrect data classes could create activation errors during the upgrade.
BW
Remove unnecessary SAP BW temporary database objects Delete all SAP BW temporary database objects:
Execute routine housekeeping ABAP SAP_DROP_TMPTABLES.
For more information see SAP note 308533 (2.x) and 449891 (3.x).
This reduces the numbers of database objects that need to be copied during the upgrade.
Note: take care not to delete objects that are in use as this will cause queries, compressions, etc to terminate.
Basis/BW
Backups! Before executing the upgrade, ensure that you have a backup strategy in place so you can return to the point where loading was completed and the upgrade started.
Ensuring you can return to a consistent point in time (without having to handle rollback or repeats of data loads) is key to having a successful fallback plan.
Database Admin
Before Execution:
All SAP BW administration tasks should have ceased Cease all SAP BW administration tasks such as Object maintenance, query/web template maintenance, data loads, transports, etc at the beginning of the upgrade.

POrtal application object - Abstract Portal Component, Location dropdown.
Hi
I am creating a Portal application project in NWDS.
Inside this project I am creating a POrtal application object -> Abstract Portal Component.
Now, there is a dialigue box which appears, prompting for object name and package.
In the same dialogue box there is an additional dropdown box for Location.
It has two values "api" and "core".
What does these mean.
ThanksThe location of the new Java class file determines whether other applications can reference the classes. Generally, the choice is only meaningful when defining services and the interfaces to make available to those applications the reference the service.
You can specify one of the following:
■ Core (default): Places the file in the src.core project directory, and makes it private.
■ API: Places the file in the src.api, and makes it public.
Regards,
Khushboo -

same problem, here is how I could eventually fix it.
Since the Flex Test Drive is sometimes out of sync with flash builder 4, I recreated a project using other help pages on Adobe site :
Entry point :
http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Flex/4.0/AccessingData/WSbde04e3d3e6474c4-668f02f4120d422cf08- 7ffd.html
As suggested, I used the New Project wizard to create a new project, with :
Application server type : J2EE
Check the radio button "Use remote object access service : BlazeDS"
Then, as indicated in following pages (section "Accessing BlazeDS")... :
file:///C:/Mes%20documents%20C/Commun/Developpement/Documentation/HT-Tracks/AccessingData/ help.adobe.com/en_US/Flex/4.0/AccessingData/WSbde04e3d3e6474c4-668f02f4120d422cf08-7ffe.ht ml#WSbde04e3d3e6474c4-19a3f0e0122be55e1b7-8000
...I selected the "Data / Connect to Data/Services..." menu option, which started the Data/service connection wizard.
There, I selected a BlazeDS (and not Web Services) service type, and everything went fine.
Suggestion to adobe staff : maybe it would be useful to update the Flex Test Drive to reflect Flash Builder 4 ?
Very nice product anyway, so far, congratulations...
Rgds
Marc.
