Define XI timeframe

Hi frendz,
Can u help me to determine time required to configure edi connection between two sap systems and time required to configure web-services between sap and non-sap system.Pls assume scenario as if any web-service u want.
Regards,
Ameet

Hi
I could think of a few more factors apart from the ones i discussed with you in the previous thread. You can break up the Connection time into others like Mapping involved.
1)Java Mapping (x days)
2)XSLT Mapping (y days)
3) ABAP Mapping (z Days)
4)Graphical Mapping (x days)
and give pros and cons for the time period you have stated like Grapical maping is easy so it takes less time etc..
Will let you know more..
Also if you get updates on your scenarion means some particulars let me know.
Thanks

  • Wbs elements information needed - importance.

    Hi Gurus,
please explain wbs elements related information.
    regards.

    Hi
wbs elements is important if u are using project system. its useful for creation of assets .. construction projects. for eg u create a project INCOR001
under this project u create various WBS elements .. it depends upon the assets u wanna add there
the WBS element would be like INCOR001.01. you assign a budgeted value to it and the approval value. u can also define the timeframe for the project and selection like u want to keep it open or close the project etc depending apon client requirement
    assign points if useful

  • Switching BW authorization concept back and forth on the fly

After upgrading to BW 7.0, we are currently developing the BW authorizations from scratch with the new analytical authorizations. The system is currently set to the legacy RSR authorization objects. The idea is now to define two timeframes on our development system, one for the users working with old authorizations, and a second timeframe for testing the new analytical authorizations.
Can we switch the authorization concept back and forth on the fly, or are there any obstacles?
    Thanks in advance!

    Andreas,
The latest version of BW is 7.3 which is also Analysis authorization concept like 7.0. So please clarify from the system status what level are you upgrading to.
Under 7.0, the RSR objects were still available i.e. you can switch the concept back and forth on the fly, it will trigger a transport. AFAIK - In 7.3 however there is no support for RSR anymore in fact even the object class is not visible and so does the switch for the concept and even RSR objects (Z-objects) do not show up in PFCG either.
So if you are moving to 7.0 switch is possible, 7.3 it is not. But in either case, you should be upgrading using a dual landscape with upgrade work being done & tested in separate boxes than daily production support landscape. It will come in handy at the time of testing also.

  • Defining "prior-week" timeframe dynamically for scheduled reports

I have a number of reports that I need to execute each week.  But, the scheduling options don't allow me to kick off the report on a Sunday AND constrain the timeframe to the prior week (Sunday-Saturday).   I have a prompt built into the original query, but that's useless if I want to automate the output.
I was successful getting the query to work against the upstream database using the following query fragment:
    BETWEEN CURRENT_DATE - INTERVAL '7 day' AND CURRENT_DATE - INTERVAL '1 day'
But, there is no option to enter this query into the BI.Ondemand UI.
Any insight would be helpful.   This issue is hindering progress with our metrics automation plans.
    Regards,
    -Joe

    I'm using the Web-based version of BI.ondemand.
I don't have access to the OnDemand Desktop Publisher because the hosting provider I'm using doesn't support it.
The scheduler is very unstable in the web version. I often get "page not loaded" errors in the prompt window within the popup scheduler.
I've also just determined that the week-definition in BObj is Monday-Sunday and not Sunday-Saturday.   I'd need to make that adjustment as well.

  • I have a 1st generation Time Capsule with current firmware. Can I define the time periods when my children's devices have access to the wi-fi network?

I have a 1st generation Time Capsule with current firmware. Can I define the time periods when my children's devices have access to the wi-fi network?

Can I define the time periods when my children's devices have access to the wi-fi network?
Yes, using the Timed Access feature in AirPort Utility, you can setup specific rules for each wireless device which define the exact timeframe each day that the device will be allowed to connect to the wireless network.
    Example....junior's iPhone can connect.....
    Everyday......Between.....9 AM and 10:00 PM
    or
    Weekdays.......Between......4 PM and 9 PM
and Weekends.....Between......9 AM and 11 PM
At the same time, your own personal devices will have Unlimited Access at all times.

  • User Defined Application Component

    Hi,
Whether we can add/create user defined Components in solution manager?ie for the Component field in the 'Create Message' screen,in the 'Select Application Component'(F4) drop down whether we can create our own components?
    Regards,
    Cherry

    Hi all,
sorry for the late response, but I just found the thread two month ago.
Yes, it is possible to have your own components, but with a big BUT. The components are stored in the tables DSWP_CSNCOMP (data) and DSWPCSNCOMPTXT (text). In the data table all available components are stored in a random order but with a subsequent identification number. This number must be in a complete subsequent order without any gaps. Holding this condition you can put now your own components into.
But now the mentioned BUT: In regular timeframes the Solution Manager contacts SAP to update this table. Of course your own components are not available so they are overwritten during the update. Therefore you have to think for a mechanism (batch job e.g.) that updates ypur components also on a regular base.
    Hope that helps, Alexander

  • Embedded Objects (User Defined SCO)

    Hello Patrick,
Do you have any timeframe for implementing support for embedded object
    and/or user defined SCO
    http://bugzilla.solarmetric.com:8080/show_bug.cgi?id=50
I wish it were available, makes many things much cleaner ....
    Alex

    Alex,
Embedded object support is currently slated for 2.3, which is where
we're putting a good deal of DB mapping improvements. I cannot commit to
a date for 2.3.0, however, our goal is to get it out around late June or
    early July.
We will very likely have a beta version of it available before then.

  • What is the difference between define Assessment and define distribution

What is the difference between define Assessment(S_ALR_87005742)  and define distribution(S_ALR_87005757)

    Hi,
Assessment and distribution of relevant overhead costs is performed at period closing (actual data) or plan closing (plan data). This is usually done directly in CO. It is then reflected in the data in Profit Center Accounting. If you have a service profit center or allocation profit center in your profit center hierarchy, you may need to assess or Distribute costs again in Profit center Accounting.
In Profit Center Accounting, the allocation function allows you to allocate the following plan and actual data.
    -- Costs (assessment and/or distribution)
-- Revenues and sales deductions (assessment and/or distribution)
    -- Balance sheet items (distribution)
Assessment is made using a special cost/revenue element. In distribution, the original cost/revenue element/account number is retained.
Assesment, you set rules in the form of cycles for allocating primary and secondary costs in plan.
    Activities in assesment are
Create an plan assessment cycle by proceeding as follows:
    1. Enter a name for the cycle
    2. Enter a validity timeframe for the cycle
    3. Maintain the header data for the cycle by entering the following:
    a) In which currencies the costs should be charged
    b) Whether consumption quantities should be charged
    c) Whether negative tracing factors should be scaled
    d) Whether the cycle should be processed iteratively
    e) In which version the cycle is valid
    4. Create segments for the cycle that contain the following information:
    a) The sender cost element to be distributed
    b) Criteria to distribute the costs among the receivers
    c) Sender objects
    d) Receiver objects
Distribution ,you create rules in the form of cycle for the settlement of primary costs on a cost center.
    Activities in distribution are
Create a plan distribution cycle by proceeding as follows:
    1. Determine a name for the cycle.
    2. Determine a validity period for the cycle.
    3. Maintain the header data for the cycle by entering the following.
    a) Which currencies are to be used in the allocations
    b) Whether consumption is to be allocated or not
    c) Whether negative tracing factors are scaled or not
    d) Whether cycle processing is to be iterative
    e) In which version the allocation is to take place
    4. Define cycle segments in which you store the following information.
    a) Sender cost element to be distributed
    b) Criteria for cost distribution to the receiver
    c) Sender objects
    d) Receiver objects

  • Error while defining a warehouse as Bonded Store

    Hi All
I am getting one error while defining a OPM Warehouse as Bonded Store in OPM Inventory Module under Warehouse Attributes.
The error is 'APP-JA-460778: This Warehouse does not have a Parent Organization defined in Oracle Financials'. Can any one tell me where i missed the setup part of defining a parent organization in Financial Module. We are on OPM 11i EBS.
    Thanks in advance
    Prem.

I think you are using India Localization. Sorry, I don't have any knowledge in that area.
I got following information about how to setup Organization/Warehouse. And it says that any deviation from this may result in error. Check if you are following all the steps required for defining warehouse and organization.
Please ensure that the following setups are done exactly as mentioned below:
    1) Create an OPM organization in OPM System Administration using OPM Organization Screen eg. ‘PM1’
    2) Create a Location using ‘HR Locations’ form with the same name as the OPM Organization (eg. PM1)
    3) Create an Inventory Organization using the form ‘HR Organizations’ with the same Organization Code as the OPM organization Code created in step 1. (Additional Identification details of the Organization could be given after a colon (:) in the Organization Name – Eg. ‘PM1: Vision Process India Mumbai’). Make this Inventory Organization as ‘Process Enabled’ and in the ‘Process Organization’ field, refer to the OPM Organization. Attach the HR Location created in step 2 to this Inventory Organization.
    4) On saving the Inventory Organization record, the system shall automatically create a Warehouse with the same name in OPM under the OPM organization. (eg.PM1)
    5) Query the Location ‘PM1’ and attach the Inventory Organization ‘PM1’ to it.
    6) Go to Organization Additional info in OPM System Admin – Create a record for ‘PM1’.
Enter the EC Code for this Organization, as this is the Excise Licensed Organization. After saving
the record here, an automatic entry is created in India Local Inventory – Organization Additional Information for the Inventory Organization.
    7) Go to India Local Inventory Org Additional Info and query for this Organization (it will be visible without location). DO NOT mark this as Master Organization.
    8) Add another record for the Organization with Location (eg. PM1)
    9) Check the 'Master Org' flag for this combination of Organization and Location.
    B: Warehouse :
    1) Create an Inventory Organization in India Local Inventory corresponding to the Warehouse in OPM (eg. ‘WSH’). Make this as ‘Process Enabled’ and give the ‘Process Organization’ as the
OPM Organization created earlier (PM1), which is the Process Organization this Warehouse is going to report to.
    2) Create location (WSH-With the same name as the Warehouse Code) in India Local Inventory and attach it to organization ‘WSH’ in India Local Inventory
    3) System automatically creates Warehouse ‘WSH’ in OPM under the OPM organization (PM1)
    4) Using the ‘Warehouse Attributes’ form, classify this Warehouse as Bonded/Trading/OSP
    5) Go to India Local Inventory Organization Additional Information form and create a record ‘WSH’ giving the Master Organization as ‘PM1’ (actually this is referring to the combination of PM1 with Location
PM1 as Master Organization) . Add another record for the same Org ‘WSH’ with Location ‘WSH’
with Master Organization as ‘PM1’. Please ensure that the EC Code is exactly same as the Master Organization.
    6) Optionally ensure that in the Register Priorities, highest priority (1) is set against PLA.
    7) Optionally ensure that Allow Negative PLA Balance Flag is checked.
Also make sure that all objects (triggers, packages etc) that are related to localization are valid.

  • Why self-defined access sequences of free goods can not work?

    Hi gurus,
I have maintained access sequences of free goods self-defined.but when i creat the SO it does not work!
when i used the standard access sequences ,it is OK .
    Can anybody tell me why?
    thanks in advance

    Dear Sandy,
Go to V/N1 transaction select your self defined access sequence then go in to the accesses and fields and check all fields are activated.
Make sure that these fields are flowing in your sales order.

  • "Open sql" report no data sourced defined in windows

when I want to import data from sql database, the Open sql window report error
"There are no data sourced defined. Please create one to continue",
but I have defined the odbc data source using windows 's odbc administrator, why the error?
    chuliang

    A couple of possibilities.
First are you licensed for Sql interface? If not, you might get that message.
Second, where did you create the ODBC connection on your computer or the server. It has to be on the server.
Third, did you create the odbc as a system driver? it needs to be so
Fourth, what operating system? If it's unix or AIX there is a hole bunch more you need to do to get odbc connections working. If it's windows, it's pretty easy.
Fifth, did you test the connection before trying it in Essbase?

Sorry you are late on your payments. I hope you get a job in you future soon.
If your account has not been suspended for non-pmt:
You can call customer care at 1-800-922-0204 to schedule a "promise to pay" option with financial services.  they will schedule payment options with you.  You will need to be 12 days past due on your past due balance or have a "Y"  indicator on your balance account information for them to set up payment plans for you.
If you are past due and services are disconnected:
You will have to pay the past due balance before the will establist a reconnect for you.  You will have to pay a $15.00 reconnect fee per line, and proration charges for your services reconnected if it is within you 30 day billing cycle, plus a one month in advance charge on your month price plan and any features you have on the line(s).
then, you will be able to schedule a promise to pay arrangment on your current charges with online services in your view bill link or the *611 automated system to schedule a electronic withdrawn payment 7 days in advance with a checking acount or credit/debit card.  make sure to have an account credit card or checking account saved on file in your account so you will not have to input all the numbers on the account information.  it will make it easier for the system and faster to process the scheduled payment.

  • Product costing error while defining posting rules

    Hi Friends,
When I'm trying to define posting rules for settling WIP using OKG8,
I get an error msg "GL account 7000100 cannot be created as a cost element" and the aforesaid account is WIP (P&L account).
The long text of the error msg is as follows:
G/L account 7000100 cannot be created as a cost element
    Message no. KQ119
    Diagnosis
When maintaining the posting rules for passing on results analysis data to Financial Accounting, you entered a G/L account that is defined as a primary cost element in cost and revenue element accounting. This is not allowed. You must enter a G/L account in the posting rules that is not defined as a cost element.
    System Response
    The entry invalid.
    Procedure
    You have the following options:
Enter a G/L account for which no cost element is specified in Cost and Revenue Element Accounting.
You can change the message type with user-defined error management (transaction OPR4_KKA). What should be observed when you enter a G/L account in a posting rule that is defined as a primary cost element in Cost and Revenue Element Accounting? You need to define a CO account assignment so that the posting defined in the posting rule can be executed. You do this with transaction OKB9 (default account assignment) or OKC9 (substitution), or using the default account assignment in the cost element master.
Could anyone suggest me on this.
The steps that I've already defined as far as the account are concerned:
    1. Have defined the aforesaid account as a cost element
    2. Assigned Prodn. C CTR in OKB9 agnst the same.
But then I dont understand why the system pops up this msg, saying, cannot be created as a cost element, wherein the account is already a cost element.
    Plz suggest
    regards
    sandhya

    Hiya,
WIP accounts (neither Inventory nor Offset) should NEVER be created as Cost Elements.
In most manufacturing scenarios, costs are tracked on the P&L. During period-end, since there is the risk of writing off some issues to the Production/Process/Sales Order, SAP has introduced the complex but ingenious system called Results Analysis that moves the balance of all open Orders to the Balance Sheet.
If the Order balance is (+)ve, the P&L is credited and the Balance Sheet is debited and vice versa. When you display the Order costs at period-end, the WIP costs are not considered. In order to calculate WIP, we have separate RA GL accounts that track costs independently of the Orders. Therefore, these are never created as Cost Elements. Creating these as Cost Elements would force the system to inadvertently post the WIP costs back on the Order (alongwith posting these to the B/S??? - an unimaginable situation).
At period-end, you have postings like:
    Dr WIP Inventory Account
    Cr WIP Offset Account
and, this is reversed at settlement:
    Cr WIP Offset Account
    Dr WIP Inventory Account
Along with this, the system calculates the Actual COS for the finished product. Neither of the two WIP accounts used above is created as a Cost Element. If you have created any of these as Cost Elements, the system will not allow you to save OKG8. Delete the Cost Element and then try saving the posting rule.
(PS: The "Cost Element" field in this screen has a different use. It is used to specify if a Secondary Cost Element from the RA Update table should be posted to a G/L Account. This is not meant for Primary Cost Elements. I think these Secondary CEs are of type 31 (requires confirmation - no SAP access right now). As you may have guessed, you can only enter either the RA Category or this Secondary CE).
You may also delete the OKB9 assignment to the Cost Centre. It is redundant.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers.

  • Error while defining alt unit of measurement in material master

    All SAP gurus,
i am trying to define a alt unit of measurement in a finished material, the base unit of measurement is in MT, and the sales unit is nos. the conversion formula is 53 nos = 1kg i.e. 1MT = 53000 nos. as conversion can be done only with base unit of measurement i am giving 53000 nos = 1 MT, but system unable to calculate the conversion as it is not taking mere than 3 digit after decimal.
    e.g.    if 53000 nos = 1 MT
then  1 nos should be = 0.000018 MT
but system not taking this value as this value contain 6 digit after decimal
suggest me what can be the way out? with detailed steps. can i increase the post decimal value or i have to define another middle alt unit of measurement (like KG). and if that is to be done then how.
