Defining a brush help

I have photoshop elements 12 and I'm trying to make a brush. Everytime I click define brush it says cannot because no pixels are chosen. Help please! thanks!

When I use Adobe from a fresh install, all is well. But when I define a brush preset or load from a downloaded content, any brush I use will be misaligned with the cursor forever, and not just a consistent spot, random inconsistencies with none centered. I have tried cycling through full screen mode and opening a new file on minimized mode with no luck, same inconsistencies. Please help!

Could you please post a screenshot with the pertinent Panels (Layers, Brush, Brush Presets, …) visible?
And apply the Brush to a Path (with the Path visible), so the offset becomes clear.

Brush Help

I know how to set/ save custom brushes, but it no longer is letting me. I have even tried to do it with a save picture I have done it with before. Whats going on? Someone please help?

To Save an image as a custom brush, you need to open the image, resize it to less than 2500px width and Height. Then select all ( the entire image or the part, as you want the brush to be)
then go to Edit menu > Define brush...
Give it a name and press OK

Defining a variable help

What's it mean when variables are defined with boolean operators? I've seen it before but can't find any help on it in the Java Tutorial so I don't really know what it means.
e.g.
int var1 = (var2 & var3) | var4

Touch-up brush help?

Help! I just opened my Adobe PhotoShop Elements 8 package for the first time, and the touch-up healing brush tools do not seem to work on my photos. I've read the tutorials, and have followed the directions. The tools appear on the photo, and I can manipulate them, but they are not actually removing trouble spots from my photos. Anyone have suggestions or know if there is something on my PC that may be inhibiting the function of this tool?

When you select the healing brush make sure you have proximity match highlighted in the options bar.
If that’s not the problem keep the tool selected and try a reset.

Photoshop Elements 7 brush help is needed.

I still need help with this problem:
My photoshop brush is messed up as shown in these pictures:
As you see my brush seems bumpy especially when in a bigger px.
When in a smaller px (like 1) it's still bumpy but before it was spacing/ it still does it now. (only for 1 px does it space)
Before this started happening I added brushes and some other things to it (could this be the problem?)
I deleted all the brushes (one may still be their?) Should I delete the other things to?
This is my secound post for this problem (the first one I accidentally put assumed answer)
Also some other things:
I already have resetted Pse 7/ deleted prefference about 6 different times.
I have resetted the tools + messed around with the additional tools options.
As you see in this Image it seems that the brush is faded (hence the spaces for 1 px?) but I do not have the fade on.
(Btw, this is for the default brush while the other one (on top, right) is for basic brush)
I have also mesed with the size of image but when it's zoomed out or in it looks better but still slightly bumpy.
I need the picture size to be 10 x 8 in especially for school work.
(The two first pics aren't 10 x 8 but different since I had resseted Pse (Even in 10x8 it's still bumpy/ odd)
Anyway if anyone can help please reply as soon as quickly and Thanks.

Actually the brush stroke is not actually spacing as you see it in the preview. You can check it out by zooming into the image. When you will zoom in you will actually see that the strokes are not spaced. It looks like as though the brush stroke is space because you have set brush size to very less 1 pixel and your image resolution is too high . That is why the brush stroke looks spaced but actually it is not.

Spot Healing Brush Help

Has someone begun a list of how to get the most out of the Spot Healing Brush? I'm using it in Photoshop CC to repair old photos. It tends to work about half the time the way I would want it to. Frequently, I have to back out "fixes" and either try again from a different direction or switch to the clone stamp tool.
So, how does one get the most out of the Spot Healing Brush?

The spot healing brush is a great to remove dust, spots, hairs and all sorts fo small artifacts form a background. You want to read the help to becoem familair with the options. Dpending on your image adn brush size either content aware or proximaity mathc you watn to switch between.
If you have a burlap texture, or a striped dress shirt, that can be hard for a tool like this, as each strand needs to match up.

Photoshop Elements 7 Brush help?

Usually i'm good with fixing problems on Pse but I just got this recent problem (brush problem) that I can't seem to fix.
As you see in the image every time I draw especialyl with 1 px it comes out like a broken line.
When it's a bigger px it also comes out wierd or even bumpy persay?
At that time I was also adding more brushes to my Pse,
so when that started to happen I reseted it about 3 times and even deleted the brushes
but it still didn't fix the problem.

The bumpiness that you see in the brush strokes is the designed behaviour of the brush tool. Every brush type will show some bumpiness. In order to decrease bumpiness you can set brush hardness to maximum. You are able to notice it might because your image resolution is too low. No brush can show a smooth behaviour as after all it paints on a pixel and the pixels are arranged in a grid.
For the spacing that you see with brush with size of 1 pixel is not actually there.You can check it by zooming into the image.

Pattern Brush Help

I created a few pattern brushes. In some the graphics have a fill, and in others they don't. I have having a problem with a brush, it will apply to a straight line, but once i add a curve to the line the pattern disappears. What am I doing wrong?

Do you have a structure for your response...if you do then you can do extended reciever det with sync/async..shouldent matter, i just tried it and i dont get any error.
in your reciever determination..Check the box for standard rec det then add your first condition..of the value of a field to true..then send to A..
then you select add condition..and add for second reciever..that should be it, you shouldent need a bpm for such a simple scenario..it definetly is an overkill.

Adjustment Brush help needed

Is anyone facing the same problem as I am? When I use adjustment brush, and edit, I use to have a button right below the picture that I am editing to click Done, but after a while the Done button is gone and all I can do now is either reset or previous under the develop, any idea? making me crazy, thanks for your answers

Pressing Enter/Return will do the same as clicking done. But I agree with Rikk that Pressing "T" should bring the toolbbar back for you.

Weird "undefined in form" error message: but is defined--can anyone help?

You don't have to fill in any of the text areas but select one of the Bowling Centers from the drop down box. Then click "Register Me." You will see all the variables passed by the form at the top of the page...INCLUDING the Bowling Center you just selected from the drop down box on the previous page. How can it be passing the variable yet the query (insertRegistration) states it is not defined!!! UHGRRRR...

Well...hmmm. This is a new one on me. Used to be so easy. What happened? I made the necessary changes but I am getting a totally new error message. Two questions about defining class, pls help me

Hi, guys. I'm green hand and here are two questions puzzled me several days.
We know such example as below is a case of cyclic inheritance

But I can't figure out why below is a case of cyclic inheritance too

I can't find the clue of cyclic inheritance. It's quite different from the case that a class extends itself or its subclass.
Another question is why the inner class can't have the same name of outer?

The compiler says Base is already defined in unnamed package. As it says, the inner class is defined in the
unnamed package, but we know below is correct.

Art History Brush help please

From what I have read I think that I should be able to use as a source for the Art History brush any snapshot I have taken of an earlier layer. But when I tick the left hand box (ie put the Art History icon there)to make a snapshot active and then put the mouse cursor over the top layer of the image, I get an error message saying "Could not use the art history brush because the history state lacks a corresponding layer". But I can paint into it (the top layer) using the original image (with the art history brush icon next to it). In other words, I cannot use the art history brush with any snapshot as source.
What I am trying to do is have available two or three layers with different retouching treatments of the same image as snapshots so that I can paint them in to a new blank, but color filled, top layer. So, I want to have for example, a layer with little detail, another with lots of detail and another with increased color saturation and be able to add these by art histor brush into the blank top layer (which is filled with a background color).
I thought this should be possible. At the moment all I can use is the original image as an art history source.
I'm using CS4.
