Defining a new title

Dear experts,
I want to define a new title for customers. Now it's only having 'Mr., Mrs.' etc.
How can I define a new title (in IMG)? Please help me on this regard.

I am having trouble with my mac mini ethernet. It had been working for weeks after an update to SL 10.6.8.
Once it went out and i repaired it by defining a new connection from System Preferences ->Network->(left panel service, +).
But yesterday, after a power up. my ethernet was not working again. I tried this old trick to repair it, but the interface choices
listed for '+' a new service did not include Ethernet any more. And the Utilities->System Profiler->Ethernet Cards shows
no ethernet available.
As a last ditch effort i reloaded my original SL from DVD. (I think it was version 10.6.4 but i could be mistaken on the version).
The ethernet worked! But KeyNote wasn't going to work because apparently the version i purchased depends on 10.6.8.
So I upgraded again to SL 10.6.8 (Plus some other updates like AirPort which i don't use).
Now the Ethernet is not working again. I see the same symptoms as before with the Ethernet seeming not installed.
Is this a problem seen by others?
Would going to Lion fix the problem?
Could AirPort actually be the culprit and not SL?
If i stay with my original SL, would i need to repurchase a version of KeyNote for the older version of SL?

Have you reset the SMC?
Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord.
Wait fifteen seconds.
Attach the computer's power cord.
Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.
While you're at it, resetting the PRAM won't hurt anything and 'might' help is SMC reset didn't work (PRAM does some port control):
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.
Something else you might try .... you don't say how you're updating to 10.6.8, however, if you're using Software Update, you might try downloading the 10.6.8 combo update, which contains all updates to 10.6. Sometimes, Software Update doesn't work quite right, and installing the combo update fixes that. Download the update from Apple's download site at http://support.apple.com/downloads/ , using Disk Utility repair permissions, apply the combo update, then repair permissions again.

Error in the creation of a new Title...

Hi! I have a problem: when I make a new TITLE (Text), a write the text I want and when I try to choose the font, it gets slow and then blocks, then I receive a message of error saying that it found an error and has to be shut down. I tried several times but always getting the same information.
I have new fonts added, but only today I'm getting this error...
What can I do? Can anyone help me?

How do I define a new salutation for use in vendor & customer master data?

Hi
Can someone please advise how/where I need to go in order to define a new salutation type (eg: to be used in vendor and customer master set up)
We currently have several standard salutations (eg: Mr, Miss) but not some really common ones we use (eg: Dr, Rev, Sir etc)
I guess this might be somewhere in SPRO/IMG but anyone with the answer will be awarded points.

How to Define a new tax, same as WHT - 11i AP

Hi,
We use 11.5.8 Oracle Payables, We need to define a new tax (royalty tax) exactly similar to Withholding Tax.
In the invoice distribution the tax line should be negative figure which will deduct the payment amount just like in WHT.
Please let us know what type of Tax we should define to solve this and how to apply it in Invoices.

You description of Scenario is indicating that you should withhold a part of Invoice amount i.e the Amount is inclusive of Invoice Amount.
Hence I think WHT is suitable for you.
and how to apply it in Invoices.
Define Withholding Tax options in Payable Options window.
Define a Withholding Tax Code and Group.
Enable WHT at Supplier Site and assign particular Tax group to Supplier Header or Site as per requirement.
Define Special Calender Withholding Tax.
When supplier is selected at Invoice level, Withholding Tax group shall be automatically populated at invoice level, which will take care of Withholding at the time of Invoice Validation or Payment as per Options set.

Can I batch change titles within iPhoto while keeping the original IMG_(4digit) filename/title as PART of the new title?

Using iPhoto '09/8.1.2 on a MacBookPro, with 40,000+ photo library, having the (apparently common) problem of CD burn errors (with Toast and with Disk Utility) when 2 photos end up having the same underlying filename assigned by the camera. To try to avoid this, I want to retitle pictures within iPhoto so I can utilize the "use title as filename" option when exporting (because I guess I can't burn CDs from WITHIN iPhoto because of this problem, right?). I was hoping to create new titles that were a combination of the existing 4 digit filename assigned by the camera, combined with new descriptive text (either date, or event title would be fine), and hoping to save time by using Batch Change (which I've never tried - just seen it mentioned here in perusing discussions). I've also seen reference to "Automator" (which may be over my head), but again not sure if that can be used within iPhoto to combine existing/new title text. (Also, I saw mention of a script written by Toad at Toad Hall site, but the link to it was bad - may be over my head, also: never tried a "script" before...) Thanks in advance!

No. Coming out of iPhoto you're limitied to the Title, real file name, Album name or (in the Export window) Text with or without sequential number.
However, if you export out with the orignal file name to a folder you can use a file renaming app to add whatever common text to the beginning of the file name so you would get XXXX XXX-IMG 1234.jpg. Some renamers can remove the IMG bore adding the text at the beginning.
The app that I use and like best is Name Mangler. Very powerfull.

I need to give one standard report column a width of 30px. I read anything about this here in the forum. I only know a litte of CSS and HTML. So I tried the following, but it doesn't work.
I have a own css-file for my application. I tried to define a new class in it:
div.reportcol30{width:30em;}
Then I write the following in the report attribute "CSS CLASS" for my column:

Does anybody have an idea what's wrong?

I tried (display:block;width:500px;overflow:hidden;) in my application, but the problem is that
the column it self took the new width (500) , but the data row (which is select_list_from_lov)
still smaller than 500 about 250 what is th problem

Define a new business group

My company has been divided into two so i would like to define a new business group for the sister company.
My question is in what ways will the defining of the new business group affect the creating of the new payroll and elements for the sister company.
Is it possible to use the same elements that were defined for the company initially or is it that i will have to define all the elements all over again for the sister company?
The reason why i am asking is because there will be no change in the allowance and/or deductions that will be performed on the emps that are in sister company and the actual company.

Is your business already decided that you should go for a new BG for your sister company??
If you are planning to go for a new BG, then you have to do setup/implementation for your sister company from scratch.. You have to define all the elements all over again for the sister company.. It's to be treated as a different entity now as it is detached from Parent..and this is required for better reporting purpose..
Since you informed that your sister company is going to follow the same set of rules /approach like parent company, then why don't you keep both business in same umbrella ..I mean BG..
In this case your sister company implementation is going to be treated as a rollout or an extension to parent...
Now choice is yours to decide where you want to stand.. :)

I want to define a new Rating Scale with Type 'Achievement' in the rating scales. But the Application Utilities Lookup RATING_SCALE_TYPE's Access-Level is System. So I can't add a new type. Is it possible to add a new Type?

I do not think that is possible because the total value of the items must equal the value at header.
You can maybe add an extra text item for these costs if you do not want them added to the other items.

When you have gone through the path you describe you end up with a screen with a line for "define transaction types". To the left of the line are two icons - one to execute the function (the execute icon) and one with documentation (the text icon). Click on the documentation icon.

I suppose you are talking about a report, right? I see 2 potential problems to be worked around:
1- how to pass the comma in an URL parameter, without making APEX understanding it as a separator for multiple parameters?
if you're running the report from a branch in other page, just check the 'save before branching' property.
Otherwise you will have to escape the commas, replacing it by some other character (like a '*', for example) right before submitting the page - of course you will need to add a computation to decode the conversion made (from '*' back to ',') in your report, in a Before Page style.

2- how to utilize the parameter in the context of your query?

I'd like to know if there is an chance to define a new enumeration format. I hope that "enumeration format" is the right translation for "Nummerierungsformat" from the german language.
What I want to do habe is an enumeration that contains the days of week, like: Mo, Tu, We, Th, Fr, Sa, Su
And after "Su" the enumeration continues with the beginning (Mo, ...).

I edited the script a bit and I am nearly at the point I wanted to reach.
There is one thing left.
On a left side I need to align the the text like:
So that it "seems" that the numbers are aligned to the right and the day names to the left. I solved it by using a "space with width of a cypher" (in german it is "ziffernbreites Leerzeichen") and a tab stop.
The problem is that i cant get it to work for the right side.
I always have a linebreak between the number and the day name.
It should look like this on the right side:
