Definition of reservation.

Dear All,
                       can ne one provide me the definition of reservation for material .
regards
sap11

Hi,
Reservation:
Request to the warehouse or stores to keep a material ready for issue at a future date for a certain purpose.
The purpose of a reservation is to ensure that a material is available when required.
A material can be reserved for a cost center, an asset, or an order for example.

  • Problem opening all iWorks

    I can not open any of my iWoks programs. I recently did a clean instal of OSX Lion and now all of my iWorks programs won't open, I ger the following message,
    "Numbers can not be opened because of a problem, Check with the developer to make sure numbers works with this version of OSX. You may need to reinstal the application. Be sure to instal any available updates of the application and OSX."
    I did try for updates and none were avilable, I also reinstaled iWorks 9. Same problem.
    Any suggestions?

    Hello Wayne.
    Happily, there is no preferences file dedicated to iWork in the System folder (which by definition is reserved to System items).
    The iWork preferences files are :

  • DV8T and Windows 7-64 4gig Reserved by Hardware

    Weird issue. I've had a lot of issues with my two brand new DV8Ts. Both show the same issue where the system just freezes up, video goes blank and the fan shuts down. I've seen instances where take manager shows on 4 gig of RAM and then it is rebooted it shows 8 gig of RAM. I went and removed the DIMMs and put them in the opposit slots and now they only show 4 gig of ram all the time. Resource manager says that there is 4 gig reserved by the Hardware.
    Here's the chat I had with HP:
    Simon Smith : WIndows cannot see all of the RAM
    [An agent will be with you shortly.]
    [You are now chatting with Amit Kumar .]
    Amit Kumar : Welcome to HP Total Care for notebook support. My name is Amit.
    Please give me few moments while I review your issue description.
    NOTE: For security reasons, PLEASE DO NOT sends credit card information via chat.
    Amit Kumar : Hello Simon. How are you doing?
    Simon Smith : Good
    Simon Smith : I'm trying to get some support for a DV8T but it wasn't listed when I tried to bring up the chat
    Amit Kumar : Simon please let me know what exactly the issue we are facing with the notebook?
    Simon Smith : This model is NQ226AV (DV8T-1000). It has Windows 7 64bit. The laptop has 8gig of RAM and BIOS says 8 gig but when windows boots up task manager says 4gig.
    Simon Smith : Resource manager says that there's 4 gig reserved by the hardware
    Amit Kumar : Simon please click on start then on the run box please type dxdiag and press enter
    Amit Kumar : And let me know the available memory
    Amit Kumar : Simon are you with me?
    Simon Smith : memory 8192MB RAM
    Amit Kumar : Its mean that the notebook is taking all 8gigs of memory please do not worry,
    Amit Kumar : May I please have the product and serial number of your notebook system?
    Amit Kumar : Please look at the backside of the Notebook you will find a bar coded silver sticker and on that sticker you will find an alphanumeric code starting with p/n for product number & s/n for serial number.
    Simon Smith : product number is NQ224AV, Serial Number is XXXXXXXXXXX
    Amit Kumar : Thank you for providing me the information
    Amit Kumar : Kindly confirm your Email Address
    Simon Smith : <text removed for privacy>
    Amit Kumar : Thank you
    Simon Smith : The unit is setup to be shipped back to HP on a Return Authorization Number Friday but if I can fix this problem I'll cancel it.
    Amit Kumar : Simon please do not worry about the ram issue
    Simon Smith : I've also tried to reset the RAM. At one time diags showed some bad memory.
    Simon Smith : Why should I not worry about the RAM issue. I need all 8gig.
    Amit Kumar : The notebook is using 8 GIGss
    Amit Kumar : Now please do not worry and if you wish that you are not felling comfortable then you can ask for the replacement.
    Simon Smith : Is there a special way these memory DIMMS go into the slots?
    Simon Smith : If I put them in the opposite slots it sees all 8 gig but then the laptop does a blue screen.
    Amit Kumar : Simon when did you purchase the notebook
    Simon Smith : I got it in the mail from HP on two weeks ago.
    Amit Kumar : Okay
    Amit Kumar : Simon are we using the same notebook while chatting with me?
    Simon Smith : No
    Amit Kumar : Simon let us go ahead and try to reseat the ram once.
    Simon Smith : I've done that 10 times already.
    Amit Kumar : Simon see if we are getting the available memory of 8 gig then it mean that the notebook is using all the memory perfectly
    Simon Smith : Then why does task manager say 4gig and Resource Manager say that 4 gig is reserved by the hardware?
    Simon Smith : If I move the memory to the opposite slots it sees all 8 gig but the computer will do a BOSD.
    Amit Kumar : I will really appreciate if you do allow me 2-3 minute while I go ahead and quickly do a research on this issue,
    Simon Smith : I'll give you all the time you need. I've done some research too and found nothing.
    Amit Kumar : Thank you so much
    Amit Kumar : Thank you for staying connected with me. I really appreciate your patience.
    Amit Kumar : Simon let us go ahead and try to run the diagnose test on the memory once,
    Amit Kumar : Please shut down the notebook
    Simon Smith : working it now.
    Simon Smith : ok it's down
    Amit Kumar : Please press the power button and immediately keep on tapping F10 key
    Amit Kumar : Please let me know as soon as we are on the BIOS screen
    Simon Smith : Ok I'm in the setup utility
    Amit Kumar : Now please click on diagnostic option
    Simon Smith : ok
    Amit Kumar : There we need to click on memory test
    Simon Smith : It's running, Says "Dur ing Memory Test"
    Amit Kumar : okay
    Simon Smith : Memory Test Passed
    Amit Kumar : Please let me know if you get any error?
    Simon Smith : It's finished
    Amit Kumar : Okay
    Amit Kumar : Simon let us go ahead and intall the BIOS update
    Simon Smith : It's already installed
    Simon Smith : V.12
    Amit Kumar : Simon did you purchase the notebook online from HP?
    Amit Kumar : Simon are you with me?
    Simon Smith : Yes I did
    Amit Kumar : I am providing you the HP shopping number : 1 (888) 999-4747
    Amit Kumar : Please ask for the replacement.
    Amit Kumar : I believe there is an issue with the ram slot.
    Simon Smith : Is this a known issue with this model?
    Amit Kumar : I dont think so
    Simon Smith : This is the second one I've had on this order that has the same problem.
    Amit Kumar : May be you got a notebook which is having the issue.
    Simon Smith : I've already returned the first one.
    Amit Kumar : If there is an known issue with this notebook then we should have the updates
    Amit Kumar : I will raise your concern to my senior authority
    Simon Smith : Yea you would think. I'm reading on HP's forum that several people are having issues like mine.
    Amit Kumar : I will definitely raise this concern.
    Simon Smith : Thanks... I'll end chat now.
    Amit Kumar : Simon I would request you to please ask for the replacement one more time
    Amit Kumar : Thank you for giving me an opportunity to assist.
    Please let me know if you have another issues or queries that I might help you in resolving?
    Simon Smith : It's going back today.

    ...don't crash into a tree trying to avoid a skunk...

    Update... So after swapping around the memory to the opposite slots I still couldn't get Windows to see all the memory. It's always saying Hardware Reserved 4106 MB.
    Then I decided to reflash the current v.12 system ROM to v.12 again. Once I did that it was able to see all 8GIG. So, I shutdown the laptop and swapped the memory around again. This time it only saw 4 gig after windows booted up. Ok so I flashed the BIOS again. Once it rebooted and went into WIndows and it now sees all 8 gig.  I picked up the laptop and moved it over to my desk and it rebooted and hung at the Blue HP Logo. So now I'm back to the origional issue. Flakey issue for sure. I had to power it off. When windows came up it only saw 4 gig of ram. I've rebooted three more times and it still only sees 4 gig of RAM. I even tried flashing the BIOS again and nothing.
    I think there's two issues. One is with the BIOS and a possible memory mapping issue and the other is a memory seating issue.
    I chatted with Tech support again about this and they said there's no way to fall over of v.12 of the BIOS update. The flash utility doesn't allow for that.
    I'd like to hear from other's that have experienced the same issue.

  • Prefix 's10' cannot be mapped to namespace name reserved for "xml" or "xmlns"

    I have been given a third party set of schemas which I have copied into my BizTalk Schemas project (I copied the top level folder containing the schemas into a folder I created in the BizTalk Schemas project). The set of schemas are stored in a series
    of folders and each schema has one or more imports statement so the structure of the schemas in the folder must be maintained. I cannot change this structure as it is from a third party.
    I get the above error when I try and test a map that uses one of the schemas. The issue is with the
    http://www.w3.org/XML/1998/namespace. When I load the set of schemas in Visual Studio creates a number of 'reference targetNamespace' entry's and it is one of these with the above reserved namespace that is
    causing the problem during XSLT compilation. When I debug the map it shows the prefix s10 assigned to the reserved namespace above which is causing the problem.
    If I look at the raw XSD schema the 'reference targetNamespace' entry's are not present so I can only assume they get added when I copy the set of schemas into the BizTalk Schemas project.
    Has anyone come across this issue or suggest a way around this as at the moment it is a blocker for me, thanks.

    The simple answer to this problem is to go to the schema with the issue, and add the appropriate definition to the top of the schema element.
    I recently had a similar issue and didn't like the whole transform/pipeline approach and figured it had to be simpler than that.
    <xs:schema elementFormDefault="qualified"
    xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"

  • Apex 4.2.1 - Reserved application ids?

    APEX 4.2.1, Oracle 11gR1
    We have application ids 200 and 201 in a workspace. We needed to clone 201 from a prior version in VSS. So I pulled out the version from VSS, ran the following snippet to install it as application 202 (id is not used in the instance) as follows
    DECLARE
        l_workspace_id INTEGER;
    begin
      select workspace_id into l_workspace_id  from apex_workspaces where workspace = 'FOO';
      apex_application_install.set_workspace_id(l_workspace_id);
      apex_application_install.set_application_id(202);
      apex_application_install.generate_offset;
      apex_application_install.set_application_alias( 'F' || apex_application_install.get_application_id );
    end;
    @f201.sqlNo errors. I type in 202:22 in the Search box at the top right of the Builder, the page looks fine. I click on the Application Builder link in the breadcrumb and find that 202 is not listed in the list of applications! I scratch my head. Query APEX_APPLICATION_PAGES for 202:22 and it does exist. But there is no entry in APEX_APPLICATIONS for 202! I scratch my head even more.
    Digging into the source code for APEX_APPLICATIONS and a process of elimination, leads to the offending predicate in the where clause.
      /* keep this not exists */
      and not exists ( select 1
                         from wwv_flow_language_map m
                        where m.translation_flow_id = f.id);
    The comment is part of the code, not mine!
    Sure enough, there is an entry in the wwv_flow_language_map table with a translation_flow_id of 202.
    So I chose some other id instead of 202 to install the app and everything is fine.
    What is going on here? Are certain application ids reserved? I can understand that the Builder related app ids (4000, 4500, etc) are reserved but I am not sure I understand how I can have application ids 200 and 201 in my workspace but 202 is not allowed!
    Thoughts? Thanks

    Joel - Thanks for responding.
    1. I know exactly zero about multi-lingual/translated applications in APEX but I am curious as to why (only) this one instance has these translation_flow_id in the range (183-221). I am guessing it is because I install the APEX Builder suite of apps into the workspace using the script below? If so, what should the script do differently to load just the English (en) language applications?
    2. Just curious, what would the fix for this bug be? A change in the view definition for APEX_APPLICATIONS to tighten up that NOT EXISTS predicate?
    Thanks

    http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14237/dynviews_2048.htm#REFRN30204
    here:
    http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14200/ap_keywd.htm
    However, this is only for version 10.2 and it contains only reserved keywords.
    I need a list for every maintenance/minor version. This list must contain all keywords in Oracle PL/SQL, not just the reserved ones, but also those which shouldn't be used in certain contexts described by the V$RESERVED_WORDS view (former link) -> probably reserved = 'N'.
    Since I don't own a copy of Oracle and definitely not of every minor version, does anyone know where to obtain such lists?
    You might want to do me a favor and query that view for me... ;-) (you can send the output to "k w u t z k e AT w e b DOT d e" ... don't forget to mention the version)
    From what the view tells me, the SQL statements to query are:
    For reserved words:
    select keyword from v$reserved_words where reserved='Y' order by keyword;
    For all other non-reserved words:
    select keyword from v$reserved_words where reserved='N' order by keyword;
    Are there any keywords/entities that are neither reserved='Y' nor reserved='N'?
    Can anyone help on this issue please?
    TIA,
    Karsten

    Not sure about differences between specific versions but the easy way to get reserved words is in SQL*Plus...

    Hi Nicolas. I learned from Development that this column is not intended for customer use. It's either for internal use only, or reserved for future use (I don't know which). I've asked that it be documented to indicate whatever is correct. I seems rather silly not to documented it at all.

  • Pre order / RESERVE THRU AT & T store...

    I pre ordered thru my local at & t store on 15th after work. Of course system was down and I got the handwritten receipt. I knew my order wouldn't be entered that day. Next morning around 9:30 I got 2 emails from them. First one was a general one from the rep at the store thanking me for my order and gave me link to view the manual guide for iphone 4. I clicked on it but the only option of viewing a manual is for 3G or 3Gs. Second email I got around 10 am was the one telling me order was placed for my phone. I see the phone, sim card, and FRT all saying in process and the blurb said "Your device has been reserved. Today was our busiest sales day in history...yaddah yaddah yaddah....There is a slight chane that some customers may receive their devices between June 25 and June 28.... " Does that mean I am definite to get one?

    If you got your reservation in and a confirmation email then yes. It will just be a matter of when it is available for you since they had to hand write your order and enter it into the system later.
    All locations sold out of pre-orders on 6/15 so if they entered yours on 6/16 I would think you are part of the customers getting the phone with the 2nd round of shipments.

  • WRT610N - Reserving a specific IP address for a given MAC address

    This is the first router that doesn't allow this. I have to set up a computer to get an address using DHCP then I need to use that IP address and related info to set up a static IP address. That's just plain dumb. Then if I take a laptop to another location, I have to fiddle with setting up for DHCP again. Then When I come home, I have to reset all the settings on the laptop to do the static IP thing. If you move the computer around a lot, that's a lot of unnecessary fiddling.
    Why not just have the router keep a table of MAC address and the IP address assigned for those computers. It would be a lot easier to configure the router once than reconfigure a compter a whole bunch of time. It's not rocket science or brain surgery. A lot of other routers do this and allow the user to set up reserved addresses

    You may have stumbled over a known bug!
    What you want to do is click on [DHCP Reservation] on the Basic Setup page and assign the Ip address based on the MAC of the connecting device.
    But there is a bug!  The JavaScript code generated in DHCP_Static.asp puts an extra space in a few Array definitions which result your browser not properly rendering the HTML code.  So you get a window that is intended to allow you to manage the Ip assignment based on MAC, but the page is BROKEN.
    (Right click on the page a select "View Source" from the context menu and you'll see something like this.)
    ===================================
     | (Note:  angle brackets replace with square brackets to prevent errors in the forum post.)
    | [script language="JavaScript"]
    | document.title = adbutton.dhcpres;
    | var statics_table = new Array(
    |     'Dummy1','00:01:02:03:AA:FF','101'
    | ,'Computer2','00:55:FF:ED:04:99','102'
    | ,'Roku','00:0E:44:55:66:77','110'

    | );
    ===================================
    I believe that blank line between the last entry and the final ");" is causing the problem.  At least in every browser I've tried, a JavaScript error is generated at that point with:            Message: Expected ')'
    My guess is the router work fine.  But since your only way to communicate with the router is via a web page that is broken, you can't make the changes you want to make!
    I was told by Tech Support that they know of this issue and are working on a fix.  I was also told....
    :: Since the problem you have is regarding the DHCP Reservation, we will escalate
    :: this case to the Case Management Team Irvine.
    and...
    :: We will escalate this concern to the Headquarter and a Senior Technician would contact you within 48 hours.
    We'll see... I'm not holding my breath.

  • Manual reservation consumption

    Dear all,
    I have a MTS scenario and am using startegy 40. I have a scenario where i want to create a manual reservation for a customer A through MB21 and mov. type 241. I do it ahead of actual order receipt to ensure that the order is definitely served when it arrives. Also, if there is no stock then the system creates a reservation with a negative sign. Now on receipt of order i'd want this reservation to automatically get assigned to this order (negative or positive), and not create a duplicate requirement while planning through MRP, one corresponding to reservation and the other corresponding to the sales order.
    In a nut shell, the manual reservation created should get consumed by the incoming sales order automatically.
    Any inputs will be appreciated, and an early reply will be highly appreciated
    Thanks & Regards,

    So to renew this thread..here's my scenario...i create a manual reservation (mov typ. 251) while there is no stock. The reservation shows up in MD04. On receipt of stock i do a GR to the reservation and the reservation element goes off from MD04 screen as the system sees it as req. fulfilled. Now how do i release this reservation? I cannot do a GI from this reservation neither can i reverse the GR (mov typ.252 in this case) and i get a message 'reservation has no selectable items'.
    Also, my ATP has reservation included in the check, but in this case the ATP is not considering reserved items and is confirming qty that is reserved, if i do not do a GR process mentioned above. Hence i need to do GR to make ATP behave the way configured.
    While if i make reservation with stock in hand, ATP behaves just fine as expected, also i need not do a GR against reservation as well to make ATP function as configured.
    My quest. is 1) what is the explanation for the former case mentioned above, though i can understand this behaviour some what, but need exact SAP wording for it. Also, 2) how can i make my reservation release/reduce in the case described in 1st para.?
    Any inputs/vies will be appreciated.
    Thanks all.

  • Problem using name reservation

    Hi there,
    I'd like to use the name reservation to develop DCs with NWDI 7.00. I already created the following reservations in the SLD:
    Development Component Name: mycompany.com/myapp
    Application Context Root: myapp
    I'd like to use the application context root reservation in my Web project. I opened the application.xml file of the web projects associated EAR project, but I'm not able to set the context root. I get the following error message:
    No connection can be established to the name server of this Development Component project. Therefor, you can only insert context-roots for test applications.
    The nameserver is activated on the SLD and is registered in the domain data of the CMS. What am I missing?
    In addition I'm not sure where I have to set the Design Time Package reservation in the NWDS. I remember that I read somewhere, that some reservations are also created automatically by the NWDS.
    Maybe someone might help me with this.
    Regards,
    Markus
    Changed "Design Time Package" to "Development Component Name"
    Message was edited by:
            Markus Hunke

    Design Time Package name prefixes are normally in the form com.mycompany. They are used to restrict the Java package names that can be used.
    You can find these in the Development Configuration perspective: Browse your DC: DC Metadata -> DC Definition -> Package Names.
    Are you using a local Web project or a Web Module DC?

  • How to set a Mtype can do reservation  ?

    Hi ,
         When i do MB21 , i wanna choose mtype 551 . The system returns an error :
    Reservation for 551 is not possible. (Choose another movement type)
    Message no. M7500
    Diagnosis
    Goods movements with movement type 551 cannot be planned via reservations.
    Procedure
    Enter a different movement type or enter the goods movement without a reservation.
    So how to configure the system to enable it ? Thanks.
    BR,
    Wayne

    Hi Wayne,
    In the standard it is only possible to create reservations for those movement types which have a value in the field 'Reserv.cat' (T156-RSTYP).
    As you can see in the customizing transaction OMJJ, this field is located under the section for 'Internal control' (please do not change).
    The F1-on-line-help for this field states:
    "Account assignment of reservation:
    Indicates the account assignment category of a reservation created with this movement type .
    Use:
    If the indicator has not been set, the movement type cannot be used to generate a reservation."
    Therefore, in the standard, it is not possible to create a reservation for these movement types.
    About the possibility of creating your own movement type which allows this possibility, please, notice that the field T156-RSTYP is not configurable. Changing it could cause other unknown problems. You might consider creating a new movement type by copying from an existing movement type which has this indicator set.
    Which reference to choose depends on your business requirement.
    Also consider that, from the business point of view, as Arif has already said, this does not make too much sense since the scrap movement types are, by definition, not planned.
    A goods issue with a scrap movement is always a non-planned goods movement. No reference document can exist for it.
    I hope this helps!
    Esther.
