Definitive answer? Touch apps on the Nexus 7

Hello,
I've been searching around now for a while but have not come to a definitive conclusion and would hate to waste my money on something that doesnt do the job.
Some posts on here feature people complaining about the lack of support for the nexus 7, however the following video suggests Photoshop touch works on the device.
Also, the following article suggests all touch apps work on the Nexus 7:
http://robertoblake.com/blog/2012/07/google-nexus-7-will-change-graphic-design/
I would really appreciate it if somebody could please offer up a definitive answer to the compatability of these touch apps on the Nexus 7 and hopefully you can help prevent me from wasting any money :-).
Many thanks,
James

Hi David,
Thanks for getting back to me.
Do you know if Adobe would be happy for users to test the other software on their (currently) unsupported devices for the purposes of beta testing?
It would be nice to see them supported at a later date and I would be happy to trial the software and provide feedback.
Kind regards,
James

  • Do any iPod Touch apps use the BT chip?

Do any of the iPod Touch apps use the Bluetooth chip? I also read that this is the same broadcom chip that can be used for FM tuning. Does any app use this feature or has this been disabled, too? I want to make sure that I am not missing out on some cool new feature.

You're not missing out on anything. The Bluetooth functionality in the 2nd Generation iPod touch isn't even enabled yet so no apps could use it even if they wanted to until v3.0 comes out.
There has been no mention of FM functionality being activated, and since no iPod has ever had an inbuilt FM receiver it's unlikely the iPod touch will. FM transmitter is more likely, but still no mention of it.

  • Why no touch apps in the cloud?

I just read the MacWorld review of cloud subcriptions and I see touch apps are not included in cloud. I was always under the assumption that touch apps were definitely part of the cloud but from what I'm reading this morning you have to buy 3 separate subscriptions to get them all. Is this a bait and switch thing or were the articles and promos misleading? I'm a bit mystified. I see the Adobe site has a footnote next to touch apps but I can't recall if it was there 3 months ago. Buying touch apps effectively adds at least 20% to cost of subscription if I'm reading correctly.
Here's one article that specifies that the cloud includes touch apps. Here's yet another article saying touch apps included.
What's up with the confusion? The touch apps are what I'm excited about and now I find I need two separate cloud subscriptions.
[edit] Okay. I see touch apps are one time purchases from Apple Store or at least that's what I'm inferring.

I suspect that given time, they will become rolled into the CC.
It's not a smart pricing plan and I doubt it will play out well. When Adobe has a bunch of touch apps no one's buying, they will roll them into CC. I mean, who else besides CC customers would be buying them?
This is the same thing that happened when Adobe insisted on having corporate pricing for the Digital Publishing Suite when everyone using it was asking for individual plans. Low and behold, that plan is now slated to be lumped into CC.
And I know that once I pay for CC, I am not ponying up money for anything extra. I'd rather do without.

  • Can I use iPod Touch apps on the iPad Mini?

I have purchased iPod touch apps and movies for my iPod and now would like an iPad Mini. Can I use all of my old apps to transfer them to my iPad Mini?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
iPad apps are supported on the iPad mini, so some applications will work on the iPad mini and other not, and you'll have to purchase the iPad version of other programs

  • Still no email from Adobe about claiming free touch apps

    Please see this thread:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1002613?start=0&tstart=0
As I'm not getting any answers there I thought I'd start one specifically for this.
It states that when you purchase the touch apps you will receive an email from Adobe within 60 days which will tell you how to claim your free month of CC (to pay for the apps) -- UK only. I understand that I'm only 30 days into the 60 BUT it does seem incredibly odd that it would take this long to send an email out.
Can I get a definitive answer from an Adobe employee please? Are these emails on their way? I feel a bit scammed at the moment.

    Hi Steve,
I can personally ensure you get it if after waiting the 60 days you still haven't recieved it yet.
You would also want to ensure:
    - You have the annual (yearly) Creative Cloud plan
    - You log into the Creative Cloud website from within 3 of the Adobe Touch Apps from the tablet using your Adobe ID associated with your membership
If all this looks correct and you don't recieve an email after the 60 days, send me a private message and I'll ensure you get it.

  • Submitting Apps to the App Store

In the Application Distribution Guide Table 13-2,  Privileges assigned to each membership level, states that only Team Agents can submit apps to the App Store.  But Table 11-2,  Abbreviated list of iTunes Connect modules, indicates that iTunes Connect Admins and Technical users can manage apps which by definition includes submitting apps.to the App Store which appears to be in direct contradiction to table 13-2.
Who can submit apps to the App Store?

Who defined "manage apps"? You or Apple? For me, the "manage apps" process is something done via the iTunes interface on the web. Submitting apps is something done via Xcode. They are two different operations.

  • [ANSWERED] Where can I download the "Touch App Plugin" for Photoshop CS 5.5 for Photoshop Touch?

Just need the link to download this plugin. All of the links I searched for redirect to https://creative.adobe.com/products.
UPDATE: Here's the answer! You must download and install the "Creative Cloud" application with your existing Adobe ID. There you will find all of the "Try" buttons for the new CC applications, but also an actual "Install" button for the "Touch App Plugin" application!

You can try re-installing Reflow, the plugin gets automatically installed as long as Photoshop is already installed. You can also download it from this link:
    http://adobe.com/go/reflowpsplugin
Scroll to the "How It Works" section and click the download it here link (the link changes based on your platform)
Hope that helps and thanks for using Reflow!

  • Nexus 7 Android for Touch Apps?

When are you going to support Nexus 7? for touch apps? Can't use them yet..
    Cheers

    Hi Ajwmedia,
The 1.4 release for Photoshop Touch added support for 7" devices, including the Nexus 7 I believe. That currently is the only touch app. This has been a very popular feature request though. Please add you vote here:

  • Moving I-pod Touch app from one library to another on the same account

I have an i-pod classic my daughter has an i-pod touch. We each have our own i-tunes library (on the same computer) but we share the same apple account. I sometimes download apps for me to use on her i-pod. I inadvertently downloaded an app to my library. How can I get this app to the i-pod touch or my daughter's library (so I can sync it to the i-pod touch).

Download it to your library the way you download it to hers, or search your computer for items with the ipa extension and drag it into the open iTunes window.

  • HT1977 I purchased a game on my ipod touch. I restored the device to factory settings last night and when I synced all the apps back, the game is now in the demo version. How do I unlock it ? I hope I don't need to pay for the full version again.

PES 2012 is no longer available in the US App Store and only on the British App Store currently.

That (an app no longer available) happens sometimes.
Your only way is if you have the appt on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case move it to your iTunes library and sync.

  • How do you get apps for the 1st generation iPod touch

How do I get apps for the 1st generation iPod touch?

By updating the iOS on the iPOd.  The 1G can go as high as 3.1.3.  That works with a lot of apps.  But some apps require a higher iOS and/or newer iPod.
