I was just look around and found this. It look like some boards support the Prescott better than others1

Hey Guys
Just looked at the post and am confused lol
I am using a 875P Neo-FIS2R so by the looks of the link by ghostwalker my mainboard wont support the new Prescott. V vvvv bad lol.
But on seans post it seems that my mainboard does support it. A while ago I saw a link on the forum to some official statement from MSI saying the  875P Neo-FIS2R  would support prescott. Wot ya guys think cos otherwise im a bit skrewd lol

But how can I test my system upgrade readiness before the 1 yr warranty expires?

  • Is there a list of what 4G devices support content filtering

Long story short, I am due for a device upgrade in a few months. I have been happy with Verizon's coverage, but have been using a 3G phone for the past few months because I need the content filtering on it.  Such content filtering does not appear to be available on the Razr M that I was using.  From what I've been able to find out, content filtering is only available on 4G on certain phones.  I'm ok with that.  I can't seem to find a list of what models content filtering is available on and what models it isn't.
Content filtering is a service I absolutely need.  I've been happy with Verizon's coverage and service, but I can't keep using a 3G phone forever and would like to move to 4G for obvious reasons so I need to find a phone that will work with content filtering on Verizon which is why I'm looking for a list of models that support content filtering.  If I can't find a 4G model that supports content filtering I may have to switch providers.  I really hate to do this for obvious reasons, but this is a service that is vital to me.

It would seem this web site will answer your question.
    https://m-support.verizonwireless.com/support/terms/products/content_filtering.html
It makes note of Blackberry devices not compatable see note:
The service does not work on most Push To Talk devices, any device with a static Internet Protocol address or on search results provided through the Get It Now Search application. The Internet filtering capabilities of the service do not work on phones using WiFi, Mobile Web 1.0, BlackBerry devices or on devices that use Venturi Compression Software, including phones tethered to PCs or PC cards, unless the compression software is turned off. Internet filtering will not work on most advanced devices until you have turned the device off and back on after every Content Filter setting change. The music filtering capabilities of the service do not work on phones with Verizon Music v1.0 software. Call 800-922-0204 or 611 from your handset if you are on a corporate calling plan to determine eligibility to use the service and to activate the service.
    Good Luck

  • Is it true that not one of MSI's P67 Chipset boards supports Quad SLI

I received a message from MSI when I requested a list of LGA 1155 boards that support Quad SLI.  MSI stated that none of their 1155 socket boards support Quad SLI. I specifically bought my board because it was listed as a certified Quad SLI board in an article by Nvidia on "How to build a Quad SLI Rig" using 2 GTX 590s. Just a little disturbing if this is the case since I have been talking for pulling my hair out for 3 weeks and posting questions in this forum so that I could get a Quad SLI option in the Nvidia control panel and asking everyone for help. Just want to clarify that what this MSI employee is telling me is correct and that I would have to get a different CPU if I want to use MSI for Quad SLI or go to another MB Manufacturer (which I don't want to do).
MSI Tech. 02/23/2012 none for 1155 socket.
End User 02/23/2012 I am not asking you for technical support for my current board. I was asking for a recommendation based on my CPU which board is the best MSI makes that will support Quad SLI. MSI Tech. 02/23/2012 this is not the post sale technical support form, please use the proper support form from the following link: http://service.msicomputer.com/msi_user/ts_form.aspx ***this model of the mb only supports SLI, not QUAD SLI: http://us.msi.com/product/mb/P67A-GD65--B3-.html#/?div=Basic

I believe there is a misunderstanding.  MSI seems to have their own terminology in which "2 GTX 590s" are not labeled "Quad-SLI" but actually "nVidia (Dual GPU) ( 2 way SLI)" as opposed to "nVidia (Single GPU) ( 2 way SLI)".
This is the video card test list for your P67 board and if you scroll down you will see what I mean.  A 2x590GTX setup wasn't actually tested, but you can find 2x295GTX and 2x9800GX2 setups in the list:
    http://eu.msi.com/file/test_report/TR1_2313.pdf
In MSI's terms, "Quad SLI" is reserved for setups with four actual cards and from this perspective Quad SLI is not supported on your mainboard model (there are only 2 PCI-E x 16 slots (connected to the CPU's PCI-E interface that will run as x8/x8 as the CPU only provides 16 PCI-E 2.0 lanes).
I hope that clears things up for you.

  • 2.8Ghz Prescott CPU

I recently received this MoBo from MSI as a warranty replacement for an SIS655 Max MoBo. The board came by itself with no cables or drivers (no box for that matter). I have no way of knowing what BIOS version is currently installed. I purchased a 2.8 prescott CPU and Thermaltake 420W PSU and the system hangs at CPU init. (4 RRR D-Bracket).
My question is this - if the wrong BIOS is installed would this cause the system to hang at this stage. I am very frustrated as I have had no PC for 4 months now and everything that can go wrong is. I am assumming that the BIOS is the one that normally ships with this board. Would getting the BIOS flashed with the correct veraion fix this problem as everything else has to be ok as I have spent 4 days on it now.

First of all take a Deep Breath .....As I realize that you must be Fuming right now......Believe me, We will Do Everything possible to get your System Up and Running.. But the First thing we must establish is if your Motherboard Supports the Prescott P4...But Whether you want to hear this or not, I must tell you that there have been WAY To Many Issues with the Prescott CPU's (I wish you had bought a Northwood, As the Northwood is FASTER, and Runs about 15C Cooler)....But on to your Problem. Yes if you Do Not have the "Newest" or Latest BIOS Rev. your PC will NOT POST . And the reason for this is the Motherboard is NOT recognizing the Prescott, Because the Microcode for it is not written into the Older BIOSES.
Now, one thing that you can try to do is to try to Force the PC to Load the BIOS by Pressing and Holding BOTH the Ctrl and Home Keys. And if you do get it to Load the BIOS, you can try to Increase the DRAM Voltage to 2.6 Volts.......But Keep in mind, If you Cant get this PC to At least Load the BIOS, You are Going to have to Either Borrow a Northwood P4, or Better yet, See if you can Return the Prescott For a Northwood.....But try to force the BIOS Load First.............Sean REILLY875

  • Does 870a-G54 NON FX Motherboard now support Vishera CPU's after bios flash?

I have the non fx version of the 870a-g54, I have the latest bios flashed on my motherboard right now and in the description of the bios update it reads "- Update AGESA code for Vishera CPU"
So is this support for FX cpus now ?
Is the 870a-g54 FX board the same as the mainboard non fx with just support for FX out of the box?
I'm confused, I would really love to upgrade my CPU, I know my motherboard has weak power phasing so I won't be overclocking at all if I did upgrade.
    THoughts?

OK, here's a list from MSI I found that support Vishera, if anyone can prove otherwise then go by this list. There is no sense going back and forth without definite proof, as far as I'm concerned the proof is this list.
List of models that support the new AMD FX “Vishera” CPU

Right there -> 890FXA-GD65 ,white socket , has FX support. So white or black it simply has to be tested and stated to work.
It was stated to work with FX 5 months before the CPU release. And this is just one example
Anyway i would say FX  CPU-s SHOULD be used with boards released last year ,just to be safe it doesn t blows up when the CPU reaches some Turbo State.
FX series needs proper VRM stages.

  • Where is the complete list of what does and doesn't get backed up on iOS?

I found a webpage from Macworld pointing to Back up and restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using iCloud or iTunes - Apple Support as giving a complete list of what does and does not get backed up in the iPhone backup.  This page must have changed since it no longer contains this information.  I am aware of the basics like text messages, voice memos, pictures you haven't synced from iTunes via iPhoto and Aperture, but I want the definitive complete list.
As to the why, Apple support is telling me the only way to solve a bug in Messaging on my new iPhone 6 plus where photos are no longer displaying is to restore my phone and not restore the backup (this does work while testing).  I want to know what I am losing when I do this.  Of course I have all my photos already in iPhoto/Aperture, and I realize I have to give up all Text Message History apparently, but I want to check the exhaustive list.
    Thanks.

Try this one. Create and delete iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch backups in iTunes - Apple Support

  • Why half size AGP card with Prescott CPU?

I have a P4 2.8Ghz Prescott and a Mega 865 Deluxe. The system should be able to support this cpu (with the 1.2 BIOS); see website http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/slim_pc/slm/pro_slm_cpu_support_detail.php?UID=547&kind=4
However, this website mentions that it only works with a  "Half-Size AGP card only". Why is this?
Does it mean that a Prescott CPU won't work with the onboard video?
Or.. is the half size (or low profile) AGP card recommended because of cooling improvement.
Thanks in advance for any help!
(I am wondering if it will be necessary to buy an extra AGP card; and which one)

Please search the forum before aksing questions, since this has been asked, and answered before ....
    (always wanted to say that)
Anyway, to spare you the search
With full and half size AGP cards they mean physical height of the AGP card, you can buy a full size or half sized one.
Officially MSI does not support full sized AGP cards, and it is suspected to be a power issue. Most of the high end full size cards these days have one (or two) extra power connectors (molex), and thus require a lot of juice (power). And you only have 250 Watts available.
The prescott has no problem with the onboard graphics adapter what so ever, the statement on their website is just about add-in AGP cards.
You can search around this forum, for configurations that other users use. So that you can get a feel of what will work. I for one can tell you a Radeon 9800 Pro will probably work. It will also be a bit of a hassle to get it in, but it does fit .... Also be warned that if you need a PCI card in there next to the AGP one, you are in for a challenge.
Btw, It is a bit unclear to me if you have or have not not bought your system yet, but the prescott 3.0 Ghz and 3.2 will also work, and these do also not show up on their website as being supported.
    HTH,

  • Does the Lenovo G580 mother board supports three monitors?

    Hi,
I have a Laptop Lenovo G580 and I would like to know if it supports 3 monitors. The graphich card is not the problem but when I connect the third monitor to the HDMI port it shows that something is connected but doesn't detect the monitor.
After eading the documentation regarding windows 8 I learned that the problem could be the motherboard.
    Please advise.
    Thank you

It does not depend on the board but the cpu (and it's integrated gpu) being used. The board just offers the connectors for it. Check Intel's Configuration 3-Displays FAQ: http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-033714.htm
It lists supported and unsupported configs as well as possible modes and required igpus. With the correct mode and proper cpu a three screen setup is possible.

  • Which MSI boards support Speedfan?

I got a Delta LSR last week and it doesn't support Speedfan - so I'm going to change it for one that does. I'd prefer to stick with MSI. Please anyone who's using Speedfan, can you tell what board you're using?
    Thanks.

That's incorrect.  Most, if not all of AMD's desktop CPU's support ECC memory in the memory controller.  This is precisely what makes them appealing to use in a unprofessional server -- they're cheap, fast, and offer server-level features.  In order to make use of that ECC memory support, however, the board maker has to wire a few extra paths to the DIMM slots for control/parity bits related to the ECC signaling.  I'm asking if MSI does it.  If not, that's unfortunate, because ASUS does.

Bookmarks are not syncing to ONE of my Macs, but showing up on other Mac (work), iPhone 4 and iPad 1. Macs are on Mountain Lion. Tried all of Apple's suggestions - and the one Mac is still not updating/syncing Bookmarks or Reading List. What's going on? Do I have to wait to OS update? It seems lots of peolple were having issues before ML, but I as fine. Since ML, I am having all kinds of issues!

Yeah, I literally have tried everything except deleting my iCloud account (I'm close, but that would require so many changes that it is way too painful to consider at this point).
I am still waiting to hear back from Apple Support. Hopefully something can be done, or they can do a reset on their end.
Thanks for taking the time to respond though, much appreciated!

  • Is there a comprehensive list of what X-Spam headers Apple Mail will look at when determining junk mail status?

Apple Mail has a preference to 'Trust junk mail headers in messages' but I can not find a list of what those headers are.  By trial and error I've learned the "X-Spam-Flag: YES" will work (exactly that, no extra info), but I'd like to know what other options there are... particularly if I can send a score/rating back and have it look at that.
But I can't find a list of supported headers.  The Internet is full of "common spam headers" and yet none of them actually seem to work -- and lots of people who can't get it working with spamassassin which is incredibly common...
So... is there such a list?

I'm in the process of trying to get this information for a client. Even with a paid AppleCare agreement, the only answer I'm getting is "look in the forums" and "look on the developer site" (although I have to give credit to the Tier-1 rep who's trying to help me.) The impression I'm getting is that they consider an exact list of header names to be proprietary information for some reason, and are going to great pains to try not to give out the information, but also to not create ill will amongst their customers by explicitly saying "that's proprietary".

  • What are supported sampling frequency and digitization rates for Zen Micropho

Some MP3's are playing back slowly. It is inconsistent, though, since files with the same digitization rate and sampling frequency will behave differently - some right speed, some slow.
    The bulletin board says:
"My tracks don't play at the correct speed e.g. they play too slowly, why?
Chances are they are encoded in an unsupported sampling frequency..."
How do I find out what the supported sampling fequencies and digitization rates are?

Thanks for the info. I guess I was looking for something more specific - the exact bitrates and sample rates that Creative claims to support. Would you know where official and comprehensi've data can be had? There must be a tech spec somewhere.
It is common these days in business to see a recording of, say, a conference call or seminar presentation at 32k bitrate/025Hz, or even 24k bitrate/8000Hz, posted to a company's website for download by those who could not be there, and MP3 players are increasingly used for their replay. Companies use low digitization rates because there is no need for hifi and the files are much smaller: less storage, faster download.
I'd be surprized to think that Creative don't have compatibility with the standard range of rates offered by ubiquitous programs like Audacity and dBpower, the latter being one they themselves recommend!
