Defrag or not????

If I run the defrag program in Windows XP and it recommends me to defrag, should I?

Yes. Particularly if it is <95% unfragmented. Particularly if your partition is formatted FAT32. But I can't imagine a situatation in which defragging would be bad (modulo all the "backup first" warnings that I won't disagree with).

  • To defrag or not to defrag ...

    that is the question.
I am new to Macs, and just got a MacBook Pro,
    to edit Final Cut Pro.
Being used to editing in PCs, I have always been
in the habit of defragging often, especially when editing
    a video project.
However, I don't know if Mac hard drives, and external firewire drive that I have attached, need defragging.
I contacted G-tech, the manufacturer of my external FW Raid drive. They didn't say not to defrag, they told me to buy a 3rd party utility to defrag.
However, some Mac users have told me it is not necessary to defrag Mac drives.
Who do I believe? Where can I get the TRUTH?
    thanks

Both are both right and wrong. While Mac OS does its best to keep each file defragmented while it is written, that does include where that file is placed. Additionally, due to the size of file it cannot guarantee that this is the case.
G-Tech ultimately suggest defranmentation, as well as optimisation, to ensure the optimal performance of the files already in your drive and subsequently, the use of the free space on the drive.
So, the right answer depends in your perspective and what you're trying to achieve.

  • Task License Validation Error Message/ Automatic Scheduling for Disk Defrag is not working.

I saw where I could possibly ask you for answers to the problems that I am having with Windows 8.1 pro. First of all I noticed that my disk defragmentation task which was set on daily wasn't operating.  It indicated that the last time it ran all disks
for disk defrag was back on 4/20 and on the this morning of 4/26 there was the date 4/20 for all the disks.  I went into the Administrator Tools section of Control Panel and found Schedule Tasks.  When I opened Schedule Tasks I got the
error message that indicated a Task License Validation Error. It went on to read:The task XML contains a value which is incorrectly formatted or out of range.  This is my question...are the two related...the inoperative automatic maintenance of disk defrag
and this error message from task scheduler?  And how do I address each issue to solution.   Thank you very much.

  • Windows 7 Defrag from command line does not work

We are running Windows 7 in a virtualized environment. When running windows defrag using schedule or from command line, it does not work. The command that I am executing as administrator is
    C:\Windows\system32>defrag /c
    Microsoft Disk Defragmenter
    Copyright (c) 2007 Microsoft Corp.
It displays the above message and exits back to the command prompt. However if I run the command defrag C: it does work. Defragmenting from the GUI works as well as long as both the disks (C: and System Reserved) are selected and when I click on
    Defragment disks, works fine.
I am concerned about defrag running from the task scheduler with the command "defrag /c" (auto scheduled using Configure Schedule... from Disk Defragmenter) does not work and the system never gets defragmented automatically.
This happens only with some of the windows 7 VM's that we have.
There are no entries in Event Log that point to the defrag (using task scheduler). Any ideas what may be going on?

    Hi,
Could you defrag as below method:
    1. Open Disk Defragmenter by clicking the Start button. In the search box, type
Disk Defragmenter, and then, in the list of results, click
    Disk Defragmenter.
2.Under Current status, select the disk you want to defragment.
3.To determine if the disk needs to be defragmented or not, click Analyze disk. Administrator permission required If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Once Windows is finished analyzing the disk, you can check the percentage of fragmentation on the disk in the
Last Run column. If the number is above 10%, you should defragment the disk.
4.Click Defragment disk. Administrator permission required If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

  • "How do I defrag my mac?" "You don't need to, it does it itself" Fragmented Free Space: 99%. READ THIS NOW

Just a heads up for my fellow Mac users.
"How do I defrag my mac?"
"You don't need to, ever. It does it automatically."
    "But it's running really slowly..."
"Repair permissions or something. Defragging is not necessary on a mac."
Techtool pro is now defragmenting my mac. Looks like the job's going to take about 4 hours. I thought I'd give everyone the truth about this while waiting (on a different computer obviously)
The truth is, Apple's defragmenting system ***** BALLS. It has two massive, massive flaws which I feel people urgently need to be made aware of.
#1: It only defragments files up to 20mb. If you're a movie producer, a songwriter, a photographer, or anything which involves working with many massive files, the built in defragmenting program WILL NOT HELP YOU IN THE SLIGHTEST.
#2: It only defragments FILES. Free space is ignored, which eventually causes absolutely hrrendous problems.
Let me give you an analogy here. Imagine your mac's hard drive is a bookcase with lots of books on it.
File fragmentation is when it can't find a gap in the bookcase big enough for the entire book, so it breaks the book into pieces and srotes them in different gaps.
Space fragmentation is when there are gaps all over the bookcase, instead of all the books being pushed to one side so there's a long gap elsewhere.
Apple's built in defragmenting program will only fix the first problem - and even then, it will ignore any book bigger than 20 pages long, if you have bigger books which are broken up, you're screwed.
Why is space fragmentation a problem? It's a problem because it directly LEADS TO file fragmentation. If there is a large block of free space all in one part of the disk, then an entire file can be written to it. However, if there is no single free block big enough for the file, it HAS NO CHOICE but to fragment it.
So basically you might have 5 GB free and want to save a 2GB imovie project. That's cool. But what you may not realize is, the biggest single area of free space is only say 600MB. Others are around 300 and 400. Therefore the file MUST be fragmented into all these different areas, which wouldn't be necessary if all the free space was in one area of the disk.
But apple's built in tools don't do anything about this, at least not in Tiger. PErhaps this has been fixed in later installations but I'm almost certain the same issues exist in leopard.
Your only option is to buy a defragmenting program. I know this ***** but believe me, this IS something you NEED to do if your activity on your laptop involves disk space - intensive projects. I'm using TechTool Pro which has been recommended to me as hands down the best. It has a number of other functions as well, right now I'm only using the defragmenting tools but it has others for repairing damages disk sectors and other mantainence tools. There are other programs such as iDefrag out there as well.
Why am I telling you this? I'm telling you because I experienced mind numbing frustration trying to get answers from the Apple community. Google it or ask the question yourself and you will most likely be whacked in the face with the intro to my post here - "You don't need to, it's not necessary, macs do it themselves, blah blah blah"
Even worse, Apple's own webpage on the subject is nothing short of a disaster. It basically says "You PROBABLY don't need to defragment, unless you work with large files." That's it. You'd expect it to have an extra section saying "If you DO happen to work with large files, here's what you do" but no such section exists. It basically says "You don't need to defrag most of the time, and on the rare occasions when you do, well, too bad, you're screwed."
I urge everyone to heed this or they will be tearing their hair out at how slow their mac has become and the fact that no one will offer any meaningful advice other than the standard, generic, "Repair permissions" - the Mac equivelant of "have you tried turning it off and on again".
My disk is at 99% fragmented free space. NINTEY NINE PERCENT. In other words, although I have 25GB of free space, there was not a single contiguous block on the entire machine. I had almost 5,000 fragmented files as well, mostly imovies. Defragmenting got this down to about 300.
The defrag job is taking more than 4 hours and will probably go on to take a lot longer than that. This machine has been slowly grinding to a halt over the last 3 years and now I know why.
Please don't listen to anyone. Get yourself a defragmenting folder, and email Apple to tell them it's just not good enough to give their customers half assed answers and inadequate basic maintainence tools. Mac OS X must literally be the only operating system out there where something as basic as defragmenting is not only almost impossible to get answers on, but actually costs money to fix once you DO get answers.
As customers, we should not accept this any longer. I intend to spread the above message far and wide.
I LOVE Apple. I've always been "a mac" and I always will be. This in no way a mac bashing post or a windows endorsing one. I wouldn't switch back to windows if you gave me a million euro.
But sometimes even the best developers can royally f*ck up. This is one of them.
There is no readon people should be forced to put up with this crap. Absolutely no reason at all. I've had 3 months of crappy performance with no official explanation whatsoever.
Apple if you're reading this: I love your products. I'm a loyal customer. People are more forgiving than you think, speak up, admit you dropped the ball, and DO something about it in your next updates to Lion and whichever versions of Leopard you are still actively maintaining.
There's no shame in admitting when you're wrong. The shame is in hiding behind false promises and walls of silence.
--Loyal customer, but feeling rather betrayed by all this.

The old rule of thumb was to keep 10-12 GB free. Any lower than that and you will start to have trouble. I was very close to that for a long time and never had any complaints. Now, Lion "encourages" 20% free space (on my newer 250 GB drive) so I try to keep it with more than 50 GB free.
Do you still have the original memory in that machine too? The metal plate you have to remove in the battery compartment also provides access to the RAM. Your machine will take 2 GB of RAM, possibly 3. You definitely want to max that out too.
Regardless, you definitely need a new hard drive. When Apple switched to PC components, they had to take a quality hit. These 2.5" notebook hard drives are not very reliable. I'm surprised your hard drive hasn't died by now. I usually get a new hard drive with every major OS upgrade. A $ 50 investment every couple of years is no big deal.
Unfortunately, you (and I) suffer from being an early adopter in 2006. Those 32-bit machines only accept 2 GB RAM (maybe 3) and are only 32-bit so they can't be upgraded to Lion. Because of this limitation, you won't see as dramatic an improvement as you would with a 2007 machine. If you run more than a couple of applications, your hard drive is always going to have to be doing some VM work. My 2006 machine has even lost its bluetooth. I gave it to my brother. My very similar 2007 Macbook is still running great.
So, you must get a new hard drive because your old one is likely on death's door. If you don't have at least 2 GB - get it. If you can't afford a new machine, you might want to consider an SSD. That might help mitigate your RAM limitations. You can spend from $ 100 to $ 350 and get a dramatic speed improvement.

  • I'm getting this error with bootcamp "The startup disk does not have enough space to be partitioned"

    Here's the story...
I had a dual boot configuration on my mac with Mac OS X Lion and Windows XP (made with bootcamp).
    I decided to reinstall windows.
I deleted the windows partition using BootCamp.
Tried to recreate the Windows partition with Boot Camp and got: "The startup disk does not have enough space to be partitioned  You must have at least 10 GB of free space available"
After reading several posts on this forum I decided to defrag the hard drive and try again.
The defrag did not work and I'm still getting the error, I have 22 gb of free space on my drive.
    Any suggestions?
Also, I tried repair disk and repair permissions
Hmm, my external harddrive says on the box "OS X 10.5.8 or higher (32-bit kernel only)"  Could the 32-bit requirement be an issue? Is lion 64-bit?

Boot Camp must be able to allocate a contiguous block of space on the drive. If it cannot find 10 GBs of contiguous space, then you cannot create the Windows partition.
You will have to backup your OS X partition to an external drive, boot from the external drive, use Disk Utility to repartition and reformat your hard drive back to a single volume, then restore your backup to the internal hard drive.
Get an empty external hard drive and clone your internal drive to the external one.
Boot from the external hard drive.
    Erase the internal hard drive.
Restore the external clone to the internal hard drive.
Clone the internal drive to the external drive
Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
Select the destination volume from the left side list.
Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
Check the box labeled Erase destination.
Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the external backup drive. Source means the internal startup drive.
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager appears.  Select the icon for the external drive and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    After startup do the following:
    Erase internal hard drive
Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
After DU loads select your internal hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area.  If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing.  SMART info will not be reported  on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.  Do not quit Disk Utility.
Restore the clone to the internal hard drive
Select the destination volume from the left side list.
Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
Check the box labeled Erase destination.
Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the internal hard drive. Source means the external startup drive.
Note that the Source and Destination drives are swapped for this last procedure.

  • DIY  defragmentation or do-it-yourself defrag without third party software?

Ok, I admit it I am in the Irish mentality now - humour me...
Any files under about 20MB, are already automtically defragmented in the breath of the MAC as I have learned in the past. BUT, my photoshop files are always in excess of 400 mb some reach 620 mb. I am working on 500 mb files daily for 4 years. I have noticed a slow response time in many of these files over time, my computer is spring clean and memory and process time has always been forefront in my mind for years, that is without dust as well. I know ram is an issue, but I believe that many of these huge files are fragmented due to re-writes, updates and editng, deleting and renaming and well, you know what. That is the nature of photography, Especially when you need to re-edit for a different output.
    So my reasoning is thus:
If I duplicate the whole directory somewhere else on my system, about 40 gb, onto the he hard drive naturally. Then delete the old folder, rename the new folder only (not The files), this should then copy those files, the whole directory un-fragmented onto some contiguous free space and Voila? The DIY Defrag?
Good Plan?, or is this really Irish?

Not really, especially if it's the same drive/partition, but you'd likely have to move many GB at a time or it might just fragment it more.
    japamac's suggestion is best.

  • Defrag my iMac

I know that defrag is not required on a mac, but: my computer is around 3 years old now. I'm running OS X Mavericks on it and I was cleaning it with CleanMyMac 2 (I uninstall it, because I heard that isn't helping much and makes your computer slower). It became much slower in last half of the year. Do you know why?
I also install Drive Genius 3 and try to defrag my mac. When I saw how my disk look like I sad: "This is why my mac is slow!" and try to defrag it. But it sad this: "Drive Genius can display how fragment the startup volume is, but cannot defragment the volume with the current OS X version. Please, restart from another startup volume if you'd like to defragment this volume." The problem is, that I have only Macintosh HD and Bootcamp. What to do?

  • Should my MacBook Pro be defragmented?

i thought I remenbered being told I did not have to defragment my hard drive. Now I am questioning this thought. Does someone have the answer?

    No.
On a Mac  defragment is not necessary.
OS X takes care of that itself.

  • Registry cleaner/defrag wipes out license information, how to fix?

I bought the product after the 30day trial and installed the license key when I received it after purchase verification.  Every time the registry defrag/cleaner runs, the product warns me the trial time has expired.  I enter the license again.  Sometimes I feel this happens when the defrag has not run.
I did on line chat with technical service and that was utterly useless.  The directed me through a process I've already done at least 38 times.
If the registry cleaner is the problem, I would have thought a product of this caliber would be more robust to that type of operation.

    Hi HankSundermeyer,
There does not seem to be a need to defrag or even clean the registry in 7. What was once an important maintenance task in 2000 and XP is now not necessary, as the system does take care of itself, it's simply designed better. At the same time the cleaners and defraggers will suggest deleting lots of stuff from the registry.
Unless you are actually able to tell what those registry keys are and why would you want to delete them, I recommend staying away from any such cleaning action. The benefit of the cleaning is doubtful, while the potential for error is rather large.
At the same time thanks for bringing to our notice that the registry cleaner wipes out the licensing information for Acrobat.
Please let me know which 'Registry cleaner' software you are using as I would like to replicate the issue here at my end. Personally I have used ccleaner and have not faced any such issues.

  • I am trying to get better playback rendering speed Premiere CS6

I am new to Adobe Premiere CS6.  I am trying to get faster playback rendering speed from my machine.
    Windows 7
i7 4790K Haswell overclocked to 4.5 (watercooled with Corsair)
    16 GB DDR3@799MHz
Asus Z87-WS (4 double graphic card slots)
Geforce GTX 760 (Primary)  GPU hardware acceleration enabled
    Quadro FX5800
250GB Samsung solid state C: (Windows and Adobe)
    250GB Crucial solid state (Scratch)
    2TB Seagate 7200RPM (video files)
    3TB Seagate 7200RPM (storage)
    Seasonic 1000watt PSU
I am primarily editing GoPro videos with effects like TimeWarp or Twixtor and color correction.
I have tried to run the PPBM6 program with no success. I kept getting failure to access files.
I have been looking at adding a second GTX760 with SLI so they will work together.  And possible removing the Quadro if it is slowing things down.
Any advice would be appreciated.  Thanks!

...are you SURE your 760 GPU is "enabled" by PPro, and giving you the option of "Mercury Playback Acceleration" under  "General Preferences" ??? If the "Mercury Acceleration" is GREYED OUT and limits you to "software Only", go to Studio 1 website and learn to apply the well known "hack" to enable your 760 in PPro,OR, download their simple program to do it for you.
...Your machine is POWERFUL....especially with your CPU overclock......you MAY want to increase your memory to 32 GB if you are using After Effects....even PPro MAY run better with 32 GB, depending on your workflow.....most systems like yours have at LEAST 32GB system memory.
.....The GoPro codec is natively HIGHLY COMPRESSED and difficult to process, even for beefy machines. That is why they provide the free Cineform tool,( which used to be an expensive professional editing codec), to convert some,or,all of your footage to a more "edit friendly" AVI codec, which will FLY on your machine. HOWEVER, those new AVI files are HUGE.....TRIPLE the original size and requiring a LARGE and FAST disk transfer system. Right now, your single 7200 drive for your media is your SLOWEST component in the chain. The CHEAPEST improvement for you would be to add another MATCHING 2TB 7,200 rpm drive to your existing one and then use the 2 drives to create a fast RAID 0 directly off the mother board to improve the speed of your "media drive". THEN, you MUST insure that this RAID 0 is DILIGENTLY BACKED UP in case of a drive failure in the RAID. This ALSO means you must protect against an unexpected power failure which could destroy the RAID data if the failure happened during a critical write operation.....so,a good UPS is required.
You can OBSERVE how the various components in your system are performing while performing strenuous tasks by bringing up the "task manager" window and watching the CPU load.... if all cores are PEGGED at near 100%, you are "CPU bound". As you are ALREADY overclocked, you can't do anything other than to TRANSCODE your footage to the free Cineform. Your ENABLED GPU can be observed....real time....using the free MSI Afterburner,( or, similar).  Certain operations are accelerated by the GPU with PPro....not ALL!!  Scaling and some effects will use use the "Mercury Acceleration" while rendering previews AND during export. In some cases, rendering previews,or, exporting can be sped up by TEN TIMES by Mercury Acceleration. Watch the "GPU Usage" on Afterburner to see if the GPU is indeed being used, and if you are "saturating" it to its capacity of 100% with accelerated effects.
Make sure your Windows is fully updated to the current time........make sure your NVidia 760 has the most recent driver and DON'T use the Quadro for now. Set your "Windows page file" to be STATIC on your "C" drive at 24GB. Disable "Hibernation" Set all drives NOT to allow "indexing". Do NOT allow any spinning HDD to be over 50% filled....performance WILL decrease.....make sure any HDD is defragged,( do NOT defrag an SSD ! ). Stop all unnecessary processes, esp. anti-virus programs, while editing. Find out how to best "tune" windows to speed it up at the PPBM 6 and 7 websites.
BE AWARE that the "run of the mill" SSDs use cheaper Sandforce controllers, and are less suited to handle highly compressed digital video files. Samsung PRO models and recent Crucial M550 series SSDs ONLY are recommended for video use. Both these non-Sandforce SSDs maintain high WRITE speeds,( over 400MB/sec), AND maintain their high speeds after reaching their "steady state" condition. Cheaper EVO series and non-Marvell controlled SSDs MAY lose their fast write speeds over time and SLOW YOU WAY DOWN !!!  Test your current SSDs by transferring large video files between them  and watching MB per second that appears under "details" in the pop up window during transfer. Make sure none are slow.....test them with HD Tune Pro as well.
Certain non-Adobe plug-ins and certain effects may NOT use all the CPU threads well,or, may not use the GPU.....forcing the CPU to do additional work. You will have to identify problem plug-ins,or, effects by switching them on and off to see if any cripple your system.
Your machine is POWERFUL.....go to PPBM7 website and read the "tweakers" page to learn more....then, register for free and TEST your machine with their video benchmark test for PPro. It should do WELL.....AND it will help identify if you have any "bottlenecks" which are impairing your system.
Good Luck !!!!!.....THEN, start using CC 2014.....like Patton said : "...all glory is FLEETING !!"......so is the lifespan of former PPro versions !!!!!!

  • How can I see how much free space I have on computer?

Hi, I am trying to clear my computer of unneeded stuff because it's gotten very slow. I am wondering how to see how much space I have left. I remember once seeing a pie chart somewhere in the computer but do not know how to find this. I suspect it will tell me I have very little space left. Is there a way to figure out what you can delete and what you cannot? So much in my computer has undecipherable names like abbreviations. I would have no idea what it is. (The last time I took a chance and began deleting folders and things I did not recognize I unknowingly deleted MS Office and so no longer have Word.)
Can I defrag? Not sure what that is but I know it's good to do but could not find out where to do that. Can I clear the cache? Where is the cache? Is there a secret super storage bank full of 8 years of duplicates and back-ups I do not need?
    Thank you.

  • Windows Vista 32 bit security updates

After lastest security updates from Microsoft for Vista, 32 bit, the PC checks for system errors and restores to point before updates.  Tried doing one update at an time and again get system reset before updates.
Sometimes get no signal to TV and PC hangs and have to do a forced shutdown.  Today get blue screen and message that Windows did not shut down normally press enter for start up Windows normally.  Enter password and repeat.  Also booted with emergency CD today and then get same results after diaganostics run: blue screen, start up Windows normally, repeat.  Staring in safe mode did nothing either.  Several days ago ran disk clean up.  Defrag did not run because the drive was only 1% framented.
Started using an HDMI cable instead of VGA to TV about the same time this problem started and wonder if I should switch back to VGA.  Do not believe that could be a problem unless there is somthing wrong with the HDMI port on video card.
    This question was solved.

    Hi Flustered,
    You are having some issues!
Could you provide your PC's product number?
Well, you have to start troubleshooting somewhere, so I would restore the PC  to a point prior to the potentially troublesome Microsoft updates and temporarily stop automatic updates.
I would also go back to VGA graphics and then run the PC and see if it stabilizes.
You are blue screening when running diagnostics? What diagnostics are you using? Have you ever been able to complete the diagnostic tests and obtain results without blue screening?

  • Repairing permissions before and after updating software

What is the reason to repair permissions before and after updating software? This may sound like a stupid question to many of you, but I am new to computers and I am trying to learn how and why of some of the things of my PowerBook. I installed some updates without repairing permissions. Did I install some software updates the wrong way? Thank you.

This is a topic which will draw as many emphatic for and against responses as overnight shut down or not, defrag or not, optimise or not, and so on.
I agree with Neil. I believe that OS X has progressed sufficiently that repair permissions has become redundant and so I do not do it on any regular basis.
Some folk may refer you to an Apple Support Article 303602. That Article in its 4 May 2006 version, titled "Top 10 Tips to Keep Your Mac in Top Form" suggested Repair Permissions should be done "after upgrading or installing new software". The Article was however revised on 15 May 2006 to be titled "Top Tips to Keep Your Mac in Top Form" and the item on Repair Permissions [along with two other recommended maintenance tips] was removed. It is my view that the conclusion to be drawn here is that Apple no longer considers Repair Permissions to be a required maintenance procedure.
Many users have adopted a "Repair Permissions" mantra for a cure-all over several years. I dropped it sometime in 10.3.
    But, to each his own.

  • Hp pavilion tx2000 windows 7 ultimate 64-bit

My school just got the windows 7 ultimate cds form Microsoft and I installed on my hp pavilion tx2000. Everything is great except for the issue where sometimes my mouse pointer would start to move to the bottom of the screen, especially in the rightbottom corner and click on its own, causing windows to pop up from my taskbar? How can I fix this? I checked my Device Manager and I have no errors and I have downloaded and installed EVERYTHING form Windows Update with the exception of the foreign languages that are offered via Windows Update. Any advice would help? Thanks.
Oh yeah forgot to mention. I used to have Vista ultimate and it did the same problem but I just thought it was a Vista Combatibility issue. I assumed Windows 7 would fix it. So I did a clean install of Windows 7 ultimate on my tablet but the problem continued to persist.
Message Edited by khalidalkalla on 10-19-2009 10:31 PM

i have the same problem but i gotta it fixed by installing tune-up utilities 2010 and performed all the tune ups in all aspects..then installing Auslogics BoostSpeed 4.1 and performed one-button check-up except only for the registry clean-up..uncheck it..after that disk cleaner and disk defrag..note: in a certain point in disk defragging my laptop shuts down automatically but i just repeat the defragging when it boots up again..i think that was a couple of times..but after repeating it all over and over again..it will came to a point that it will be completed. i also installed kaspersky internet security 2011 and performed full computer and critical scan..same thing happened but i always start it all over again..after completing all of that i also installed all the important and optional updates of windows...after that my trackpad works well!!!
but i still have an issue, the stylus pen of tx2000 just keeps on dragging in itself without clicking it but if i use the pen of my tx1000 it works perfectly also the touch using fingertips is perfectly fine..i just calibrated it in all screen orientation..
