Deinstalling Oracle 11g r2

Hi Group,
I have an Oracle Installation 11g r2 that was not successful, now the directory has change so when I try to deinstall a message shows that the home is not found, To deinstall an oracle home manually is it enough to delete the directory where oracle is installed?

OS: AIX 6.1
Some directories names were changed from its original place, and others were rename, I don't know exactly why it was do it and who did it, but now I've been asked to install Oracle 11gr2 again, I was thinking on create another home.

Deinstall Oracle 11g client hangs on Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit

Hi,
I am trying to dinstall Oracle 11g client on Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit but the process hangs when it reaches the following:
Removing Windows and .NET products configuration START
It just hangs there for ever!
Checking the log file C:\Program Files\Oracle\Inventory\logs\winprod_cleanup.out and I can see the last thing in there is ""Deconfiguring ODP.NET Component...""
Any idea what could be the reason?

I was able to resolve it...Apparently I was logged on as administrator when I invoked deinstall which caused it to hang when it came to the part where it was getting ready to deinstall the .NET components...I logged off and loged in as myself and invoked the deinstall and it completed successfully...

Deinstall Failed Oracle 11g 32-bit installation

I haven't been able to de-install a failed/incomplete Oracle 11g 32-bit installation from Windows 7. I downloaded the deinstall utility for this configuration, but when I ran the bat file (the only executable file I found), it flashed an error and quit, before I could even read why it failed. What am I missing, please?

Can not open database control in oracle 11g r2, listener issues

Hi,
I installed Oracle 11g r2 database on my laptop for testing. at beginning everything was fine and working. 2 days later i am unable to run oracle database control.. i get page not found!
I tried all the tricks and read almost 200 pages from oracle documentation, none of this was even close to help!
(by the way oracle documentation is a fail in my opinion, it really tend to complicate things so much and talk about things not related to what a developer want to read about, its even hard for professional programmer to keep up with this, I started to hate dealing with Oracle before even going deep!!)
I tried deleting database and creating new database i get the following warning:
- Enterprise manager configuration failed due to the following error:
listener is not up or database service is not registered with it. start listener and register database service.. etc.
Some how after few hours the control is working but the database is not there, and it shows that the listener is up, but database is down.
I tried creating a new database, but i get the error above (it seems its created but not linked to listener!!)
I guess what triggered this error is running xampp, i was also working in php project and ran xampp for test, since then oracle is corrupted!
any help would be appreciated (please don't send me links to oracle documentation because its useless and not straight to the point)

anyway, now am getting new error: ORA-00020: maximum number of processes (150) exceeded
I get this error when trying to login to SQL plus, or create/configure database.
I tried deleting oracle 11g via universal installer i get message saying run the command c:\...dbhome_1\deinstall\deinstall

Istalling oracle 11g on windows vista

Hi,
i need to install oracle 11g on windows vista, unfortunately i cannot able do to that, becase after double cliking on the setup a messege like this one came out:
OUI-10151: There was an error while loading library.generalQueries. Stop installation of all products, Stop installation on this component.
I've found on internet some work around of this problem BUT only on linux machine, no one as telling me some way to fix my problem on windows vista.
I also tried using oui to deinstall any previews installed version but oiu tell me that there's not any installation of oracle.
any suggest is really appreciate

By 11g I am assuming you mean 11.1.0.6 (11gR1). Pl post which Vista version you are using - 11gR1 is certified to be installed only on Business, Enterprise, and Ultimate editions.

Problem with Oracle 11g(32 bit) installation on windows 7 ultimate edition

Hello all,
I have a problem with Oracle 11g(32 bit) installation on windows 7 ultimate edition (32 bit).
I have successfully installed it immediately after OS installation. But today, i have decided to deinstall it and go for Oracle 10g version for 32 bit.
Everything went normal during installation, but i can see the services is not present in services.msc. Also its throwing some exception for dbca, netca
Now i tried to deinstall it and again go for 11g. But even the same story here..
Can anybody give me a solution for this..

SaqibNo need to install a fresh OS. That's like tearing your house down just because you wired a lamp wrong and blew a circuit breaker.
There are MeaLink notes on how to eradicate an Oracle install from Windows, but it boils down to this:
Stop all Oracle services
In the registery:
- Delete all oracle services from the register (HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet
- Delete the entire Oralce folder from HKLM\Software
reboot
Delete the ORACLE_HOME directory and any other Oracle related directories/files. Offhand, it seems like there is an Oracle directory under Program Files.

Install and uninstall of Oracle 11g R2 on Windows 2008 Server

I installed Oracle 11g R2 and set up a database on Windows 2008 Server following the steps in the Installation Guide and it was successful. After uninstalling the product and doing a re-install, the step to configure the Net Configuration Assistant fails with the following msg.
Failed to allocate port(s) in the specified range(s) for the following process(es): JMS
[5540-5559], RMI [5520-5539], Database Control [5500-5519], EM Agent [3938] | [1830-1849]
Also, when I ran "netca.bat" and tried to reconfigure the Listener, it indicated the default port 1521 is being used. I ran "netstat -an" and do not see the port listed.
Questions:
What is the best way to check if something was leftover from my previous install of Oracle that is using the default ports?
What do I need to do to ensure a re-install is successful?
Uninstalling Oracle -
1.     Log in as the Administrator.
2.     Stop all Oracle Services.
3.     From a cmd window, run C:\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\deinstall\deinstall.bat.

Johan, after I uninstalled Oracle, I checked to ensure there were no remaining Oracle services remaining.
Srini, below are the steps I followed to uninstall Oracle. In step 3, I just ran deinstall.bat without any parameters and provided required information as prompted. Note, I uninstalled using the Administrator user and not the "oracle" account that I used to install Oracle.
Uninstalling Oracle -
1. Log in as the Administrator.
2. Stop all Oracle Services.
3. From a cmd window, run C:\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\deinstall\deinstall.bat.
4. Delete the C:\app\oracle directory.
5. Remove the following registry entries as per http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/relnotes.112/e16777/toc.htm:

Deleted the space. So now folder is : C:\Aravind\Oracle\SW\Oracle11g\Database .

Error In ReInstalling the Oracle 11g Database

Hi,
I have installed the Oracle 11g before but it was an improper one.I uninstalled it completely by running the Universal Installer and deinstalling the products.
After that ,i installed the Oracle 11g again on the system again and while installing the Database by running the Database Configuration Assistant,i got the error as
ORA 27102:out of memory
I have checked the memory size which i have specified during the installation but it was all default values that were provided.
Please help.....

Platform? 32 or 64 bit? By default 40% of physical RAM is allocated , that may be too much because of platform or wordsize limitations.

Re-Install Oracle 11g

We are experimenting with Oracle 11g (downloaded). I really don't know what my fellow developer did but we could no longer access the database manager from it's web page url, it shows 'page cannot be displayed' URL error. We restarted the Oracle services (including the TNSListener service) but this did not solve the issue.
I tried to re-install the database server (after using the universal installer to un-install all the components), and this is where the problem is. When the installer gets to the 'Configuration Assistants' parts, the first one succeeds but the other one remains perpetually in the 'in progress' status forever.
All I am saying is that I want to re-install the Oracle 11g server, but the the installer never gets beyond the 'Configuration Assistants' part. Please help. Cheers

Which operating system is there from which you are doing all this?
I would suggest that make sure that the db is uninstalled first properly. See this link for the info about it,

Once that is done, install the software and than create the database using DBCA.

Error while creating a JDBC connection to Oracle 11g using WLS 6.1

First of all i would like to know if this is compatible?
The environement that i have is this
1. JDK 1.3
2. Database 11g is on remote system
3. Oracle client on my local system ( Connecting to the 11g DB through the client works fine)
4. Weblogic server 6.1
5. Currently the application is connected to Oracle 10g DB and working fine(We are attempting to move it to 11g)
Below are the steps that i followed to create the connection:
1. Made an entry for the datasource in config.xml under <WLS_DOMAIN>/config folder as below

Oracle 11g Quartz Scheduler 1.8.5 running under JBOSS 5.1

Basically I'm getting this error when running Quartz configured for the jobStore
org.quartz.jobStore.class = org.quartz.impl.jdbcjobstore.JobStoreCMT
I've got two data sources setup.
One data source is setup to be looked up via JNDI (presumably for the one that may participate in distributed JTA XA transactions) and one that
supposedly is not to participate in JTA transactions in which quartz can call commit/rollback on it's own.
The problem I'm seeing with the interaction of the two is the following exception:

"Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio .NET" de Oracle Technology Network.
