Deinterlacing Filter (Upper, Lower etc.)

Hello,
recently I came across the famous deinterlacing problem, now I'm just wondering:
I got the black lines away by putting the deinterlacing filter on my slowmotion and my speeded up video clips (changing the speed occurred black stripes after rendering) .
Now which deinterlacing filter should I use, upper or lower, is this even making a difference quality wise and if I put one filter on one single clip, should I directly go and give every clip I have, even the ones that don't have black stripes after rendering, a deinterlacing filter?
After converting my clips from .mts to .mov via Popcorn 4 all the clips I edit on have this "ghost" effect (front picture http://vimeo.com/14850592), any tipps on getting away this problem?

You should only de-interlace clips which have a problem as rendering footage that does not need de-interlacing will take a long time.
Regarding which settings to use, simply get a short "problem" clip, no more than 10 seconds long and do a number of tests to find which works best.

Interlaced video has 2 fields: an upper field and a lower field; from the top of the image to the bottom of the image the horizontal lines that make up these fields alternate between each other. For practical purposes you could think of the upper field being all the odd-numbered lines and the lower field being all the even-numbered lines, each representing half of the total image. (For example, 1080i video has 540 lines in the upper field; and another 540 lines in the lower field, one after another, for a total of 1080 lines.) When combined you get the full, interlaced image. This is how TV works as well as most camcorders. Some newer camcorders support progressive video in which case there are no fields; every frame is a complete image unto itself. (While not perfectly correct in a technical sense, this explanation is basically correct.) There are subtle visual differences between interlaced and progressive images.
When you select upper or lower you are selecting only one of the two fields for display ... hence the name of the filter ... deinterlace. The flicker selections slightly blur the image in the vertical dimension in order to reduce apparent flicker. The choices are simply the degree to which you want the effect applied.

DEINTERLACE FILTER in FCP=====

Hi,
When I apply the deinterlace filter whether it be in FCP, Compressor, or some third-party software, do I match it with the field dominance of what my video is?
For example, most DV video is Lower (Even) so do I set the deinterlace filter to be Lower (Even) as well or does it work somehow counter effectively if I set it to Upper (Odd)??

However, setting Field Dominance to "None" if the source material is interlaced results in a blending of the fields - and field blending is the least attractive way to deinterlace. I suggest Compressor with Frame Controls well adjusted, or Graeme Nattress's superb plug-in.

How to preserve the case of a text(upper/lower) in the transparent table

Hi Experts,
I've created a Z table. Whenever I'm maintaing some text in this table via SM30, the whole text is being stored in UPPER case.
But I want to store the text as it is i.e. a combination of lower/upper/numbers etc..
Please advise.

Goto SE11 Transaction and got ur domain field ,in the output charcterstics - check the lower case check box..
and also maintain ur domain char field..

Upper Lower Case for Input Fields of ALV

Hi,
i have an ALV has some input fields columns. All values of input fields are upper case after entering something into that input fields (etc. airline -> AIRLINE).
how to add upper lower case control to ALV? (etc. airline -> airline, AIRLINE -> AIRLINE)

Dear Narullah,
The elements of your table consists of data types you can maintain in the SE11.
The data type are based on a domain which you can maintain in SE11 as well.
Just go to SE11 and check the domain which is behind the table field. On the tab "Definition" of the domain just checkmark "Lower Case". Afterwards the system does not translate your input to upper case automatically.
If you use a SAP domain, you need to copy it to customer namespace, set the lower case flag, create a new data type based on your own domain and use it in the structure of your internal table.

How to search for upper/lower case using string using JAVA!!!?

-I am trying to write a program that will examine each letter in the string and count how many time the upper-case letter 'E' appears, and how many times the lower-case letter 'e' appears.
-I also have to use a JOptionPane.showMessageDialog() to tell the user how many upper and lower case e's were in the string.
-This will be repeated until the user types the word "Stop".

Internal Order match-code fail becuase Upper-Lower case

Hi
I'need to search Internal Order using a piece of teh Order description.
Unfortunately the description COAS-KTEXT is case sensitive, and the Order is not found if Upper/lower case rules are not respected. I Have create a new Z match-code, bust this has the same problem.
Any Idea to solcve thsi issue ???

Solution
Check whether an F4 search for short text is required.
You must then either allow for the fact that the selection criteria "short text" is case-sensitive, or you can change all the short text to uppercase. This change is then effective during all displays and entries of the short text for the order and cannot be reversed. Any information which is provided in lowercase letters is then lost.
You should also consider creating an index for the field AUFK-KTEXT.
If you want to change to uppercase letters, proceed as follows:
1. Modify the table AUFK. The field KTEXT requires another data element with a domain in which the flag "lowercase letters" is not marked. The most effective solution is to copy the data element and the domains and in addition to the descriptions, change only flag "lowercase letters"
This change means that for overhead cost orders (transactions KO01, KO02) only short text in uppercase letters can be recorded.
2. To change the already existing database entries to uppercase letters run report RDOTXT2U which is contained in the standard program and the current version of which is shown below. Please read the documentation for this report.

A upper/lower sensitive problem on RFC call

Maybe it is not the proper forum to discuss this topic, but I think the ABAP programinig Forum is the best forum in SDN, which has the most vistors.
So please help me solve this problem, if possible.
I meet a problem on RFC call through dotnet connector.
There is a RFC deploy on the R3 server.
And a portal application using dotnet connector to call the RFC from web side.
The problem is when input some string like 'AbCdEf' from web side, transfer to the sap side, the RFC always get the string like 'ABCDEF'.
I think it dues to the auto upper convert by the RFC call, and if in SE37, we can check the upper/lower box to solve it.
But how can I solve it in this portal case?
Can I get original string in the RFC side?
How we can get the string as the original content 'AbCdEf' in RFC side?
any suggestion is welcome,

To expand on what Siggi said, fields in the structures of your RFC parameters are based on data elements which in turn are based on domains.
An attribute on the domain is "Lowercase'. Unless this is checked, the field will always be treated as uppercase, and you will get the effect you described.
Please check the domain of the field in question, to ensure that the "lowercase" flag is checked.

How can I define upper/lower limit for shipment cost conditions?.
The transaction TK11 has the functionality for upper/lower limits, but I can't find how to define it in customizing.
I follow the path Logistic Execution>Transportation>Pricing>Pricing Control>Define Condition Types, but is not like the transaction for pricing elements in condition types for sales.
How can I do it?

The problem is on the class condition import limits.
I cant customize upper and lower prices for the shipment cost class condition and i cant find how define it or what else can I do.
The customizing transaction for shipment cost lass condition is not like sales price class condition, please look this:
For the shipment cost class condition follow the path SPRO>Logistic Execution>Transportation>Shipment Cost>Pricing>Pricing Control>Define Condition Types.
For the sales price class condition follow the path SPRO>Sales and Distribution>Basic Function>Pricing>Pricing Control>Define Condition Types, and take a look in Define upper/lower limits for conditions.
So then, when I go to functional transaction VK11 for the sales price condition y cant assign an import out of the limits defined. I need the same for shipment cost condition, transaction TK11, but I cant find where define the limits, as result, user can load any import without limits.

In my form i have employee field . First time i am entering damby(lowercase) in that field.
if a enter second time DAMBY(uppercase) it should show me error that name is already exists.
employee field is coming from view but i can save data any cases in db either upper/lower/upper lower

2, base on some reasons, we need to query something ignores upper/lower. of course, we can use upper/lower functions, but the performance is very low. what my question is is there any functions can be used in SEM_MATCH table function or any way can give me the higher performance?

You can not cancel but change the values .This is possible if you declare all char as "Long term " char in control indicator.
This will give status LTIN to char which allows you to change the RR values at any times
Can we change REL to CRTD status.
In QA02-->click on "Reset"-->save -->this will change status from REL to CRTD.
but this is only possible when UD is not taken
