Dekstop pictures keep resetting on login???

I recently added a second monitor to my '06 white 24" iMac running OSX 10.6.4 and ever since installing the second monitor my Desktop Picture settings are being completely ignored?
In other words, every time I log in my desktop picture reverts to the same picture regardless of what settings I use in System Preferences... Change picture when logging in, change every hour, random order, not random, different files... nothing makes a difference. When I log in the desktop pics on both monitors revert to whatever was last chosen in system preferences.
Further more the settings themselves in the Desktop preference pane change! I'll set both monitors to "Change picture when logging in" then log out, log back in and... picture doesn't change AND when I open Desktop pref pane it now says "Change picture every hour"???
What can I do about this?

Are you sure your keyboard is working? Is the caps-lock key down? Are there any unusual characters in your password?

I just started have this same/simmilar issue to. Was there a solution to the original question? I have 2 ATVs. One works without issue, the other... kicks me out repeatedly... to the point where the content will load for about 3 sec before kicking me all the way out. Tried all the trouble shooting options including: checking latest software update, reset, hard restart, and checking router download speed (over 50 Mbps on speedtest.net). Should mention this occurs most frequently when downloading Netflix content, but the same issue occurs downloading other content like PBS.

Bridge preferences keep resetting. Please help!

This is SO frustrating! I just upgraded to CS4 and my Bridge preferences keep resetting back to factory defaults. I have reinstalled the entire CS4 and I have also restarted Bridge holding down the option key and still nothing. I have also repaired disk permissions upon suggestion from Adobe Support.
Does anyone have any tips on what to do?
Furthermore, also, in Camera Raw my settings don't take either. In previous versions of ACR all I had to do was click the option once and everything in ACR would come up the same in subsequent openings. For example...ACR pops up in a very small window, in CS3 you could click the "full screen" option and each time you opened ACR, it would open full screen. Now every time I open ACR, it opens small and I have to click the screen larger. Very tedious. Same with changing the colorspace under each image...previously I had set it to sRGB and it would stick, however, now with CS4 every time I change it, it reverts back to Adobe 1998. Ugh.
Can anyone help? I have been on the phone for hours with Adobe support and everyone seems to lead me on a wild goose chase with no results.

The easiest way I can think of is to use your original install disk for
OSX10.5 and choose the option to archive and install a new system.
The Archive and Install option makes a copy of your old library and creates
a fresh new one leaving all the other existing files intact.
However, to be sure first make a back up of all your important files from
your user account (including the Document, pictures, music movie etc
folders) if you not already have done so (something you should have... )
First of all use the Adobe uninstaller to uninstall you CS4 copy (it should
be in the utilities folder)
Then run the Archive and Install option from the install disk. You should
start up from this disk otherwise it won't work. When finished restart OSX
and use software update to get the latest version of OSX 10.5
Reinstall CS4 and try again.
Any ideas?

Session keep resetting

Hello everyone,
I have a problem with the HTTPsession variable that keeps resetting (the id changes)
I have a java application written in jsf 1.2 using beans, on jdeveloper that stores variables on the session and works correctly.
Now, I tried to integrate this application with UCM Content server to make the pages dynamic, i built a new section and a new region template and placeholder for each page in the application and i used the same page template for all pages, each region template has a <c:import tag> to the corresponding jsf page.
The problem is, that each page refresh now goes through the page template, the region template and finally the jsf page (and not just the jsf page like before) and this causes session reset, which makes it impossible to store attributes in the session.
I tried setting the beans (on faces-config.xml) to request scope and to session scope, but the issue remains.
I tried changing the session persistence store in weblogic.xml file from MEMORY to FILE and to COOKIE and still ..
I also tried to add the parameter "-Dweblogic.servlet.useExtendedSessionFormat=true" to server run but with no help.
Any thoughts or suggestions ?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
Reset the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings)
Restore the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Restore)

G4 keeps resetting Mail, Dashboard, etc (new to Mac)

I am new to Mac but finally trashed my PC and got a used G4 off Ebay. Anyway, my settings, for no reason I can find, keeps resetting. Like Mail, will have to be set up all over again. The pictures under iPhoto are now gone, and the folders I made. The Dashboard time to --- ---- ----
Any help? Would it best to restore the system?

Iphone now it says it needs to be activated and plugged into itunes. It wont let me do anything because it keeps resetting. Help please.

I cant coonect it to the computer because the iphone keeps resetting itself and the restore or activation cannot be completed. Do I just need to get a new iphone? I have a 3gs and dont want to get a new iphone. Also the iphones sim card wont work and I have tried to do a hard reset mutiple times.

Sounds like your phone was jailbroken. If it was, you will need to get another phone. That phone is permanently disabled.

How to reset my login password for macbook air

How can I reset my login password for my laptop? For some weird reason, my login password no longer works. I now have to get on by logging into guest and then clicking on my username.

MSI 870A Fuzion.... BIOS keeps resetting it self after restart,

I've just brought my first ever parts for my first ever computer build.....fitted everything perfectly and booted....
1st: logo screen came on
then another screen came saying low battery, thunxsomething...IDE, bios clock unset...."hard drive not detected"
3rd: screen came up asking either f1 to go into bios f2 to load defualts
i pressed f2 little dash flashes in the top corner
rstarted with second {the same procedure as explained }try ubuntu live usb loads......
after shutdown and installation of OS
i attempt to troublkeshoot the issue of bios time, IDE, and no hard drive detected
by going into the bios... which was totally from whats expected i.e. in colomns instead rows
i was expecting bios style shown below however after thought i got adjusted to the new rows one

just as an extra, a small splat of water went on the board i simply wiped it away........(happened before first boot) would this by any chance affect the bios

what message exactly you are getting at bios post screen?

TS1292 I bought a 4 pack of $25 Itunes gift cards and only 2 will activate. For the second two it just keeps asking for my login. No error message just keeps repeating the login

User Settings keep resetting

I have an I-Mac. I keep using the get Info to set my preferance for opening photos and other items. I find that the computer keeps resetting them to the default settings. For example I want my .jpeg files to open with Adobe Photoshop but they keep resetting to preview. I want certain items to open in Firefox but it keeps resetting to Safari. What am I doing wrong?

You are doing nothing wrong. It sounds like LaunchServices is confused.
Launch /Utilities/Terminal and copy & paste this at the command line to rebuild LaunchServices:

Start up in Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities window appears, select
Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar at the top of the screen—not from any of the items in the OS X Utilities window.
In the window that opens, type this:
resetp
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window opens. Close the Terminal window to get it out of the way.
Select the startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected. You won't be able to do this if FileVault is active.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Follow the prompts to reset the password. It's safest to choose a password that includes only the characters a-z, A-Z, and 0-9.

Ipod will not charge, keeps resetting, extremely low battery.

Someone please help!!
I adore my Ipod, its 2+, it was working fine, till a few months ago.
In the beginning, it stopped charging on the computer, it synced, but i would have to charge in on a Ipod radio thing first.
Then after awhile, on the radio, (it worked perfectly at first) the ipod would come up with the message, "This accessory not supported by Ipod", it would still play on it, movies, songs, and charge it, but the message would come up every often.
Now it refused to be recognized by the radio, and won't charge.
(yet if you press play the song and movies will play)
It had very little battery left so i bought a wall charger.
I tried charging with a wall charger and car charger!
Now its basically dead, and when i plug it on to the wall charger, the apple logo comes on, and it goes to low battery message, then apple logo..again again.
It just keeps resetting, so i took it off that.
Leaving on the charger for awhile won't work, because it just keeps doing that.
What do i do?
I can't restore it, because i'd have to charge it first!
(I got a new battery for it a few weeks ago, the battery life was way better, charged a bit faster, and it seemed to work better, but the computer still drained it)
Anybody have any ideas?
Please please please.
I swear i love it, but i'm going to throw it out the window soon.

just to add, the first thing that went wrong, that started this thing, was when i got that -48 error, it doesn't do that anymore just to add

I have the same problem and sent my ipod to a the service center for a battery replacement. I was informed by them first by email that "Our technicians have performed full diagnostic checks on your IPOD 5TH GENERATION and have been unable to reproduce the symptom(s) you reported when you requested the repair. As a result of our tests, we can confirm that your product meets Apple specifications for performance, usability, and functionality." then I was told over the phone that they reloaded the software and firmware and that it is working properly and is being sent back to me. Then, and heres the kicker, I received my i pod back with a form stating it was a hardware failure affecting another component. I have since called multiple times and no one can tell me where the hardware failure is but the ipod still says its a battery issue. Go figure i think apple knows exactly what the faulty part is that is causing this error and has no solution short of replacing the unit and they dont want to replace the units of all those with this hardware failure

Dekstop pictures keep resetting on login???
