Delay at start/end of continous zoom

(Continuing an off-shoot from
another topic.)
As I play around some more with the "continuous zoom" feature, I keep thinking this should start and end more quickly (if I had to rank them, the latter is more important). For example, when I want to stop at a specific zoom, it zooms for just a little bit more. It's really not such a big deal, but it takes away from the accuracy that I'd want to see.
I find the "toss" movement of the hand tool offers a similar delay, but in that instance it's more appropriate and easy to correct if you're not in the exact spot you intended.

Hi,
I would suggest that you use a time loop instead.  A time loop will allow you to set your start time of the loop, and you can use that to create a delay between each iteration of the loop.  Also, you can create a time delay function with error in and error out terminal, which would allow you to set a delay at the beginning of a loop by enforcing a data flow sequence.  The worst option would be to use a sequence structure, which you should avoid at all cost, since it defeats the very nature of LV.

    These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
    Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
    For this step, the title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
              SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
    from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
    In the top right corner of the Console window, there's a search box labeled Filter. Initially the words "String Matching" are shown in that box. Enter "BOOT_TIME" (without the quotes.)
    Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Select the BOOT_TIME log message that corresponds to the last boot time when you had the problem. Now clear the search box to reveal all messages. Select the ones logged after the boot, during the time something abnormal was happening. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
    For example, if the problem is a slow startup taking three minutes, post the messages timestamped within three minutes   after the boot time, not before. Please include the BOOT_TIME message at the beginning of the log extract—not at the end.
    If there are long runs of repeated messages, please post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
    When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
    Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
    Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
    Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
    In the Console window, select
              DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ System Diagnostic Reports
    (not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
    There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of reports. A crash report has a name that begins with the name of the crashed process and ends in ".crash". A panic report has a name that begins with "Kernel" and ends in ".panic". A GPU restart report has a name that begins with "Kernel" and ends in ".gpuRestart". Select the most recent of each. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot.
    I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.
    If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a crash or panic, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
    In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
    Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.

  • Inconsisent delay is starting counter

    i'm ecounting an inconsistent delay in starting the counter while doing a buffered event count. The attachment shows the vi that i'm using
    i'm trying to acquire 2 waveforms, digital(buffered event count) and analog(acquire a 20msec data) this 2 signal are suppose to be in phase if the counter start counter immediately once the analog complete the acquisition, however i always end in an inconsisent delay range from 1.3msec to 2 msec. delay can be a very big problem in my application
    1. why is the delay inconsisent if i'm using the same software to acquire the same inputs?
    2. what should i do to make the delay consistent or avoid the delay ( have the counter to start "immediately" after the completion of analog a

    There were about a dozen sub vi's that you are calling
    that are not available, so I can't view your code.
    But in general, do not rely on software for consistent
    delays - unless you are using a real time operating
    system. If you need to sync two instruments with
    consistent delay use a hardware trigger.

  • IPhone 4s Voice Memo App has 5 second delay when the record button is pressed. When it starts recording, it goes from 0 seconds to 5 or so seconds recorded. This happens randomly and often and sometimes has the delay but starts at zero. Solution Anyone?

    After iOS 7 update, my iPhone 4s Voice Memo App has 5 second delay when the record button is pressed. When it starts recording, it goes from 0 seconds to 5 or so seconds that it shows has recorded. This happens randomly and often, sometimes it will have the 5+ second delay but starts recording at zero seconds. Besides the delay it has been working fine as far as saving and playback is concerned. I have plenty of storage on the phone itself and it NEVER had this problem before I updated to iOS 7. I've reset the phone a couple times by holding down the power and home buttons at the same time. The reason I have an issue with this is that I'm always recording song ideas, melodies, and scratch takes; what I'm saying is when I come up with an idea I need to be able to know that when I hit record it will start right then so I don't forget anything that has just popped in my mind.
    Does anyone have a solution or suggestion?

  • Primitive APAB editor in start/end routines in transformations

    When editing or viewing ABAP code in BI transformations, for example in a start routine, the editor that opens is very primitive compared to the normal SE38 editor. Some of the limitations include:
    The editor window doesn't cover the whole screen with seemingly no way to increase its size.
    The syntax check doesn't show on which line syntax errors are located.
    There is no option to perform a extended program check.
    There is no way to insert break-points (other than with the ABAP keyword of course)
    These limitations are present regardless of whether i choose the new front-end editor, the old front-end editor or the back-end editor. We're running SAP Netweaver 2004s.
    It is of course possible to create a program in SE38 and copy-paste your start routine code to see the code using the "real" editor, but this is very tiresome and time consuming. Is there a way to make this editor look and behave like the normal editor? I have looked through the setting options an searched SDN without finding a way.

    Hi,
    This is just the settings you need to change to open the start,end, and characteristics routine using the old editor you are comfortable with. No need to go to se38 and check copy the program.
    Go to se38->Utilities->settings->abap editor->editor tab->select the old abap editor.
    To specifically put break point in transformations (start routine..end routine..)..goto transformation (RSA1) and then display the transformation.
    Then goto extra (menu)->generated program. search for start_routine (method now) and put break point in the desired place.
    Then from the DTP enable all 4 break points..in tranformation (this will come when u cange it to debug mode simulation). And u can debug the transformation.
    The new editor is a good handy one. But take some time to get acquented to it. After you may start liking it :).

  • Difference between "Binding Period" and "Validity Start/End" in Bid

    SRM Experts,
    1. We see 2 different things, "Binding Period" and "Validity Start/End" while preparing the bid. What is the differece between these?
    2. These fileds are non-editable for the bidder, while preparing the bid response. How bidder can give validity period for his quote (at header level)?
    3. We see that, the bidder can specify validity start/end date at condition level. Is it not possible to specifiy a validity of the quote at header level?

  • Find start/end of word contained in text.

    I feel really silly asking this, but my brain doesn't seem to want to work at the moment and I can't find my old semester 1 examples.
    While I can easily solve this in C++ trying to do it in Java is a bit of a mystery. size_t = found, str.find() string::npos -> etc
    Basically I'm trying to implement a default highlighter. The words I need to search for AFAIK only appear once each in the Document or not at all.
    SQL queries, SELECT, FROM, WHERE, etc.
    I'm going off an example I found here: [http://www.java2s.com/Code/Java/Swing-JFC/Anexampleofhighlightingmultiplediscontiguousregionsofatextcomponent.htm]
    Which searches for vowels within a document and highlights. So i figured it would be an easy switch to get it to do what I wanted, but I've been plugging away at it for a few hours now and can't solve it.
    Would be a lot easier if String.contains(CharSequence cs) gave something back more useful than a boolean... integer would be nice :(
    Anyway sample is below, to make it simple I have a simple query in the text pane, and only search for the 3 words, select from where.
    Can anyone tell me how I would go about telling the addHighlight() method of the word found?
    import java.awt.BorderLayout;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    import javax.swing.text.*;
    public class MultiHighlight implements ActionListener
         private JTextComponent comp;

         public MultiHighlight(JTextComponent c, String[] words)

                   if (text.contains(wordsToHighlight))
                        // find start, find end... ?
                        h.addHighlight(start, end, DefaultHighlighter.DefaultPainter)
         public static void main(String args[])
              JFrame frame = new JFrame("MultiHighlight");
              frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
              JTextArea area = new JTextArea(5, 20);
              area.setText("Select *\nFrom stuff s, more m\nWhere s.otherstuff = m.otherstuff.");
              frame.getContentPane().add(new JScrollPane(area), BorderLayout.CENTER);
              JButton b = new JButton("Highlight All SQL words");
              String[] wordsToLookFor = { "SELECT", "FROM", "WHERE" };
              b.addActionListener(new MultiHighlight(area, wordsToLookFor));
              frame.getContentPane().add(b, BorderLayout.SOUTH);
              frame.pack();
              frame.setVisible(true);

    int start = text.indexOf(wordsToHighlight);
                        int end = start + wordsToHighlight[i].length();

  • How do you use the "Item Containing Start/End Date" in a Calendar?

    Hi
    I want to do a calendar where the days shown will be conditional to a certain interval. Now I though I could achieve that using the Item Containing Start Date of a calendar. But it doesn't seem to work. In the help it says :
    Enter an item in the application which holds the start date of the calendar. The format of the date in this item must be YYYYMMDD.
    This is what I did here
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=34530:1::::::
    I have 3 fields. 2 for the Start Date and End Date and 1 for the "Date Item" parameter. Only the latter has an effect on the calendar display, the calendar only displays the month of the "Date Item" (in monthly mode).
    Wether or not I check "Begin at Start of Interval", it doesn't affect the way those fields are affecting the Calendar.
    So, how do we use that "Item Containing Start/End Date" parameter?

  • Contract Value Calulation based on Start & End Time

    Hello Friends,
    My client is into Vessel Hiring & the Vessels are given on hire for fixed period (with clear start & end dates & time).
    For the above scenario we have a Periodic Contract to BIlling cycle which generates Invoices for every month. while creating the Contract we enter Basic Price as Day-Rate (Calculation type in Condition - O - Quantity - Daily Prices)
    Thus the system automatically calculates the Basic Price Condition value based on number of days in any month.
    Now the issue here is the client wants system to take Start & End time into consideration. In the Contract header - Contract Data tab we have developed two additional fields (Z-Fields) that capture start time & end time for every Contract.
    So, we want system to calculate the Basic Price Condition value based on the Contract start date + Contract Start time.
    Example :
    1. Contract start date - 25.03.2010 & Start time = 12:00 noon. Basic Price = Rs. 10,000 per day.
    2. In the Monthly Invoice, system would calcualte the Basic Price as Rs. 70,000 (7 days i.e. 25.03.2010 to 31.03.2010)
    But here the client wants system to consider Start Time & determine Value as Rs. 65,000 as the Contract started on 12:00 noon on 25.03.2010.
    Can anyone tell me how to achieve this?
    I guess we should develop some routine (in VOFM) & apply it in Pricing Procedures.
    But can some expert guide me on the logic of the routine & exactly where to apply the same in Pricing Procedure...
    Thanks,
    Jignesh Mehta

    Hi,
    Develop routine and make combination
    if start date is xyz  and start ime is less that 12 then price is so on so
    if date start date is xyz and satrt time is more that 12 then price is so on so.

  • Calculate report execution start & end time (Not use SE30)

    Dear all Abaper,
    I am writing a report which recorded the execution start & end time
    The following is a part of my coding.
    Data : GV_ST_TIME LIKE SY-UZEIT.  "START TIME
    Data : GV_EN_TIME LIKE SY-UZEIT.  "END TIME
    START-OF-SELECTION.
    GV_ST_TIME = SY-UZEIT.
    END-OF-SELECTION.
    GV_EN_TIME = SY-UZEIT.
    WRITE: / 'START TIME:', GV_ST_TIME.
    WRITE: / 'END TIME:', GV_EN_TIME.
    Suppose the report has executed 5 second
    from time : 00:00:00 to 00:00:05.
    But in the output screen, the start time and end time always display the same time(00:00:05) if following the above coding.
    However, if in the debugging mode, the start time and
    end time will be different and really counted.
    Does anyone know the reason and how to fix it if I don't wanna use SE30?
    Thx in advance~

    Hi boris,
    1. minor problem
    2. we have to REFRESH the time value
    3. using GET TIME.
       (Then it will work correctly)
    4.
    START-OF-SELECTION.
    <b>GET TIME.</b>
    GV_ST_TIME = SY-UZEIT.
    END-OF-SELECTION.
    <b>GET TIME.</b>
    GV_EN_TIME = SY-UZEIT.

  • Terminal - how to jump type to the start/end of a word or line?

    How do I jump to the start or end of a word or line in Terminal?
    In other OS X apps, Cmd or Opt + left/right arrows move to the start/end of a line or word respectively.

    Try these (note: the first two require the shift key, at least for me):
    ctrl-A beginning of line
    ctrl-E end of line
    (note: the next two require that you have the Terminal preferences, "settings" , "keyboard" opened, and the checkbox for "Use option as meta key" checked)
    opt-f forward word
    opt-b backward word
    ctrl-u clears the line before the cursor position. If you are at the end of the line, clears the entire line.
    ctrl-f forward character
    ctrl-b backward character
    ctrl-d delete character
    ctrl-l clear screen

  • Replace Filename text by start/end position?

    I could do this in php, but I know nothing of applescript. The main function I need is PHP's substr_replace, to rename files in a passed array, by start/end string positions, with passed text.
    Basically I'm looking for an applescript function to add to an Automator workflow, that will replace filenames with text, by character position. The applescript function would have 4 parameters, (files:Array, startPosition:int, endPosition:int, replaceWith:String). The first is an array of the files passed by Automator's "Get Selected Files" func, then the starting and ending positions for what is to be replaced, finally followed by the string to replace with.
    So something like,
    function renameFilenamesByPosition(files, startPos, endPos, replaceWith)
    for(i=0;i<count(files);i++)
    file = files;
    oldName = basename(file);
    newName = substr_replace(oldName, replaceWith, startPos, endPos);
    rename(oldFilename, newName);
    Any help in coming up with an applescript that I can do this, and be inserted into an Automator workflow, is MUCH APPRECIATED!! I often have files with number tags, that I'd like to have removed.

    I had a substring handler that converted fairly readily, but I was looking for something more general-purpose to put into an Automator action. Using an action is good for making the interface not quite so ugly, but there is a bit more to do to make sure it is robust enough to take whatever the other actions can throw at it. I finally decided on an action that trimmed an adjustable number of characters from the beginning or end, with an option to add a text variable - something that the existing rename doesn't do.
    As for my replacement handler, the main difference is that it uses the normal AppleScript index ranges, and the index items can also be text strings. There is also a bit more code to take care of stuff like negative or swapped indexes (yours definitely doesn't like that). It does work differently than the PHP function, which is probably not what you were looking for.

  • Batch Capture Changes Media Start, End, and Duration

    Hello all... For some reason, when I batch capture from an imported batch list in FCP 4.5, the program changes the media start, end, and duration just slightly once the capture has completed. Does anyone know why this might be occurring?

    OK... I don't believe it has to do with drop frame or non-drop frame issues, and here's why... I ran a series of tests.
    The footage was originally shot with two cameras, an A Cam and a B Cam, which were Jam Synced together. The original A Cam tapes were log and captured normally. But for the B Cam tapes, we exported a batch list to excel, performed a rename function where _B was added to all file names and reel names, and brought the data back into FCP by importing a Batch List at 29.97.
    For the tests, I experimented with only one clip. First, I noted the timecode for the media start and media end when the file was uncaptured. Next, I placed the A Cam Tape in the deck and did a batch capture on the one clip. The program changed the media start and end times upon hitting ok. Here were the results of the first test:
    LOGGED: MS (05:50:39:26) ME (05:51:41:01)
    CAPTURED A CAM: MS (05:50:39:17) ME (05:51:41:07)
    Then, I undid the capture so that the timecode would revert back to the precaptured state. I placed the B Cam tape in the deck and ran the capture again, on the same clip, in Batch Capture mode. The program changes the media start and end yet again, but this time, changed it in a different way:
    LOGGED: MS (05:50:39:26) ME (05:51:41:01)
    CAPTURED B CAM 1st Attempt: MS (05:50:39:16) ME (05:51:41:06)
    So then I undid the capture again to revert back to the logged settings, and put the EXACT same tape in the deck, and ran the batch capture in exactly the same way. This time however, FCP didn't change anything. It logged the clip correctly. I tried it yet again, in the same way, and it did it perfectly again:
    LOGGED: MS (05:50:39:26) ME (05:51:41:01)
    CAPTURED B CAM 2nd Attempt: MS (05:50:39:26) ME (05:51:41:01)
    CAPTURED B CAM 3rd Attempt: MS (05:50:39:26) ME (05:51:41:01)
    So I ask again... what is up with FCP 4.5?

  • Preserving tape name and media start/end

    I shoot lots of tapes of random footage to get short general-purpose clips for use later. Years ago when I started, I would preview in the capture window via device control, carefully set log in/out points, and let batch capture make all my little clips. Then I learned how hard that is on my camera's heads, so I got Scenalizer Live and used a new workflow - I captured my whole tape, and then sliced, trimmed, and renamed the "keeper" clips. But since most of my clips don't need audio and SCLive doesn't know how to make a video-only AVI, most recently I've gone back to using PPro for the slice and rename operation, putting the captured video on the timeline, slicing and dicing, and then "exporting to movie" the good pieces to make new AVIs, with only video and with the filenames I want. (Yes, I know there are purists out there who would be concerned about generational loss of methods 2 and 3, but in DV-AVI I just can't see how any mere mortal could tell the difference.)
    But just now I discovered that only my first method preserved the information of where the clip originally came from, i.e. the Tape Name, Media Start, and Media End. All the rest lost that information when I trimmed the clips in either SCLive or PPro. Argh!
    These clips are a lost cause, but for the future, is there a better workflow, one that will preserve both the clip information and my tape heads?

    I agree - the metadata doesn't need to be repeated for every frame - just once for the clip.
    If the clip gets chopped up in PPro (or SCLive or whatever program), it doesn't seem like it should be that hard for the software to just do the math - if I have a two-minute NTSC clip that was originally captured from timecode 12:00:00 to 13:59:29, and I chop it into a 30 sec. clip and a 90 second clip (silly simple example), the resulting two clips should still preserve the Tape Name and other info, and the start/end times should be 12:00:00-12:29:29 and 12:30:00-13:59:29. But instead both PPro and SCLive delete the Tape Name, and the start times of the resaved clips are all zero. Naturally if what is on the timeline when I save is a composite of multiple clips it's a different story, but if the only editing has been to simply put the clip on the timeline and adjust the end points and/or cut with the razor tool, it would be nice if the capture data was preserved.

  • Adjusting Start / End Time on Apple TV

    Hello everyone,
    In iTunes, we have the ability to adjust the Start / End time of a song or video by right-clicking the media > Get Info > Options. Then when we playback the media the next time, it will use the settings to determine how far into the media it should start and stop. Is there any way for these settings to get passed through to the AppleTV?
    - Thanks

    I would also like an answer to this! The original Apple TV applied the custom Start and Stop times, however the new one ignores them and plays the whole video file! Very annoying! Any solutions out there?
