Delay in displaying new images

Here's the situation.
Shooting tethered with a Nikon D800E. Using Nikon Camera Control Pro to operate the camera. Using Adobe Bridge CS6 to monitor the destination folder. There is often a delay before Bridge will display new images. For several exposures in a row Bridge will display new images as they are created. Eventually it get to the point where it will not display a new shot. When you take a second shot, both it and the preivious image will appear together. Some times two shots in a row will not apprear and upon taking a third shot all three will apprear. I've tried switching thumbnail options, Prefer Embedded, On Demand, HQ, it's a little more responsive when using the embeded thumnail but still has the issue.
I've tried two workstations. A MacPro 3.1 running OSX 10.6.8 and a Mini 6.2 running 10.8.3. Bridge has the same problem on both some what worse on the Mini.
Has anyone seen this problem when monitoring a folder that is activly receiving new images?
On a side note, it would be great if Bridge would scroll to display new images. Seems like it would have to auto select the newest image.
Thanks,
David

This is what I was thinking of.  He speaks specifically of signal delays.

16′ or 25′ USB Booster Extension Cable
This is a must! Standard  USB camera connection cables are too short for practical work. Since  transfer speeds are slower over distance, typical USB extension cables  are a poor choice. An “active” USB extension cable or “booster”  cable is self powered through the connection, allows a cleaner signal,  decreases the risk of corrupted files, and maintains a steady download speed.  Active USB extension cables can be daisy chained up to 75.’

    hi ,
    The UI element Image enables you to integrate graphics into the Web application in a format that is processed by the Web Server u2013 for example, GIF, JPG, and PNG format. Height and width of the graphic can be specified using the properties height and width. The graphic is displayed without borders.

  • Will aperture auto advance to display each new image when shooting tethered?

    I've tethered successfully with the Canon 6D using either Lightroom or Aperture. When using Lightroom, it will automatically load the new image for display on my external monitor. I cannot find a way to have the same result with Aperture and I would much prefer to use Aperture so the images can be imported directly into the Aperture library. Am I missing something or is this not possible? I like to work from the camera, not sitting at the computer.

    Short answer: Yes.
    When you initiaite a thethered session, there is a checkbox in the tether HUD that turns auto-advance on or off. The default is on.
    If you have tried it and it doesn't work, what are the symptoms?

    A simple solution would be to use a case selection so that when you criteria has been met

    Use an exit button to terminate VI(close ).

  • Problem setting a new image to be displayed in JScrollPane

    Hi everyone,
    I'm having a problem with an image retrieval application I'm developing and basically the problem is when I run the application and search for an image, the image is found and displayed fine on screen using an instance of DisplayJAI (from the JAI packages). However, when I search for another image it clears the old image fine but doesn't display the new one. I though it might be a repaint issue because the SQL is correct but it simply clears the scrollPane of content and doesn't update it with the new image. Has anyone ever come across this problem before or have any ideas? Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

    This is fixed by turning off the optimization..

  • Problem with displaying BLOB images on JSP page using a servlet

    hi. I have a big problem with displaying BLOB images using JSP. I have a servlet that connects to the oracle database, gets a BLOB image , reads it, and then displays it using a BinaryStream. The problem is , this works only when i directly call that servlet, that is http://localhost:8080/ImageServlet. It doesn't work when i try to use that servlet to display my image on my JSP page (my JSP page displays only a broken-image icon ) I tried several coding approaches with my servlet (used both Blob and BLOB objects), and they work just fine as long as i display images explicitly using only the servlet.
    Here's what i use : ORACLE 10g XE , Eclipse 3.1.2, Tomcat 5.5.16 , JDK 1.5
    here is one of my image servlet's working versions (the essential part of it) :
                   BLOB blob=null;
              rset=st.executeQuery("SELECT * FROM IMAGES WHERE ID=1");
              while (rset.next())
                   blob=((OracleResultSet)rset).getBLOB(2);
              response.reset();
              response.setContentType("image/jpeg");
              response.addHeader("Content-Disposition","filename=42.jpeg");
                    ServletOutputStream ostr=response.getOutputStream();
                   InputStream istr=blob.getBinaryStream(1L);
                    int size=blob.getBufferSize();
              int len=-1;
                    byte[] buff = new byte[size];
                         while ((len=istr.read( buff ))!=-1 ) {
                   ostr.write(buff,0,len);
             response.flushBuffer();
             ostr.close(); and my JSP page code :
    <img src="/ImageServlet" border="0"  > If you could just tell me what i'm doing wrong here , or if you could show me your own solutions to that problem , i would be very greatful ,cos i'm realy stuck here , and i'm rather pressed for time too. Hope someone can help.

    I turns out that it wasn't that big of a problem after all. All i had to do was to take the above code and place it into another JSP page instead of into a servlet like i did before. Then i just used that page as a source for my IMG tag in my first JSP. It works perfectly well. Why this doesn't work for servlets i still don't know, but it's not a problem form me anymore . Ofcourse if someone knows the answer , go ahead and write. I would still appriceatte it.
    here's the magic tag : <img src="ImageJSP.jsp" border="0"  > enjoy : )

  • Problem with display an image on JFrame in Java 6

    I'm trying to display an image on JFrame in this way:
    1.) I'm creating a variable in the class:
        private Image imgSpeaker = null;2.) I'm overiting the paint method:
    public void paint(Graphics g) {
            super.paint(g);
            g.drawImage(imgSpeaker, 330, 230, null);
        }3.) In the constructor I'm using this code:
       imgSpeaker = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getImage("D:\\speaker.gif");
            MediaTracker trop = new MediaTracker(this);
            trop.addImage(imgSpeaker,0);

            } catch (Exception e) {
                System.err.println(e);
            }        The Image will be displayed on form, but if I catch the window and move it (for example: down as possible)
    the image is not refreshed (repainted). What I'm doing wrong? I've been used this solution in Java 5 and everything
    works perfectly. Any of described methods aren't depricated... Anyone can help me?

    Thanks for your code, I've been tryed to apply your solution (with create a Buffered Image), but it still not working correctly. Firstly, the image isn't loading, and secondly the basic problem is not give in. Why have you been using "bg2d.draw(img, x, y, w, h, frame);" not in the paint method?

  • How can I display three images in video rate succession (60 Hz)?

    For a structured illumination microscope application, I have developed a VI that creates three images and displays them in rapid succession (as fast as the loop will go) on a second monitor.
    From the naked eye it's pretty apparent that the loop is not displaying the images at video rate.  Is there a way (perhaps with some sort of buffer) to get them to display faster?  Is WinShow simply not going to be fast enough, and if not, what's an alternative method of displaying the images?  If it helps, the images need only be displayed once each (the loop was just for testing).
    Also, what is a way to measure the frame rate output of the images?
    (sorry for the sloppy code, new to LabView)
    Thanks,

    Hello,
    Why don't  you try drawing one window, call IMAQ WindShow once outside of the loop, then redraw that window each iteration within the loop.  Hopefully this stops the flutter of the window.  You can build a 3 element array of the 3 IMAQ images then use an index array to alternate through which image you want to be redrawn into the single window.  The constant calling of IMAQ WindShow seems messy.

  • Displaying an image from a URL

    I have a program which visits a html page and creates a JComboBox with all the images from that page. When the user selects an image from the combo box it displays that image in a JLabel. This works fine with images that exist, when I try it with an image that doesn't exist I want it to realise that and display a message saying that "the image cannot be found". Heres part of my code that handles the selection:
    public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent f) {
                        JComboBox cb = (JComboBox)f.getSource();
                        String imageName = (String)cb.getSelectedItem();
                        try {
                             imageUrl = new URL(imageName);
                        catch (MalformedURLException ex) {
                             System.out.println("Image Collection Error: " + ex);
                        catch (Exception e) {
                             System.out.println("Some sort of exception: " + e);
                        picture.setIcon(new ImageIcon(imageUrl));
              });When I select a bad link image from the list I was hoping the catch blocks would trap it and I could make adjustments accordingly, this does not happen. No exception is thrown at all.
    Any ideas of what I can do??
    Bow_wow.

    Thanks for your help, I have changed it to the following code:
    ImageIcon imageToDisplay = new ImageIcon(imageUrl);
                        ImageIcon badImage = new ImageIcon("logo.jpg"); // An image I know exists
                        int status = imageToDisplay.getImageLoadStatus();
                        if (status == MediaTracker.COMPLETE) {
                             picture.setIcon(imageToDisplay);
                        else {
                             picture.setIcon(badImage);

  • Load and Display Multiple Images in a Web Dynpro Table

    I am new to Web Dynpro and I am wondering if anyone can help me with an application that I am currently developing. I have a particular requirement to store images in a database table (not MIME repository) and then display them in a WD table element. An image can be of JPEG, PNG or TIFF format and is associated with an employee record.
    I want to create a view in my application that displays multiple images in a table, one image per row. I want to do this using Web Dynpro for ABAP, not Java. I have looked into pretty much all examples available for Web Dynpro and came to the conclusion that Components such as WDR_TEST_EVENTS and WDR_TEST_UI_ELEMENTS do not have any examples of images being stored in a database table and viewed in/from a Web Dynpro table element. Programs such as RSDEMO_PICTURE_CONTROL, DEMO_PICTURE_CONTROL and SAP_PICTURE_DEMO do not show this either.
    The images to be displayed in the Dynpro table are to come from a z-type table, stored in a column of data type XSTRING (RAW STRING). So I would also like to know how to upload these images into this z-type table using ABAP code (not Java).
    Your help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Need help in displaying an Image in a JLabel

    Hi everyone,
    I am using a JLabel to display images on a particular screen. I am facing some problem while doing so..
    On my screen there are images of some garments. When the users select colors from a particular list, i should color this garment images and load it on the screen again with the colors. I have a floodfill class for filling the colors in the images. The problem I am facing is I am able to color the image properly with my floodfill class but when displaying the image on the same jlabel, the image gets distorted somehow.
    Everytime I color the image, I create an ImageIcon of the image and use the seticon method from the JLabel class. First I set the icon to null and then set it to the imageicon created. here is the code I use.
    If 'image' is the the image i have to load
    ImageIcon imgicon = new ImageIcon(image);
    jlabel.setIcon(null);
    jlabel.setIcon(imgicon);I am setting the icon to null because I have not found any other method to clear the previous image from the jlabel.
    Can anyone who has worked on images before and faced a similar situation help me with this?? Is there some other container I can use besides the JLabel to display the images perhaps?
    Thanks in advance.....
    Bharat

    And the thing is when I first go into that screen with the selected colors it is displaying the images perfectly.
    It is only giving problems when I pick different colors on the screenit really sounds like the problem is in your floodfill class.
    I have no idea what's in floodfill, but if you were e.g. using a JPanel and paintComponent,
    you would need to have as the first line in paintComponent()
    super.paintComponent(..);
    to clear the previous painting.
    if not, you would be just drawing over the top of the previous paintComponent(), and if the calculation of the
    painting area is not 100% exact, you may get the odd pixel not painted-over, meaning those pixels will display
    the old color.

  • Photo gallery able to reorganise into subcategories + adding new images via in-browser editing

    Hi,
    I'm looking for a photo gallery which has the ability to reorganise the images displayed based on subcategories or tags. For example I want to add a gallery which contains photos of a clients projects. The client wants site visitors to be able to shuffle the gallery to view only for example "stone walls" or "timber decking". A tagging system would be handy rather than having to load the photos into each subcategory.
    The other consideration is that my client needs to be able to add new images with tags using the in-browser via Business Catalyst. So far I have only succeeded in replacing existing images rather than adding new images.
    Is there such a widget for Muse or are there anyother widgets for wordp-ress or other which could be embedded to tdo the job.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jimmy

    Hi Jimmy
    If I am not wrong, basically you want to provide users an option to select category of images which they want to show up on page.
    From Muse we cannot tag or categorize them , also photogallery module in BC does not provides this option, but there is a workaround with web apps.
    You can create a web app and then web app items as images and then categorize them. On page insert the web app with categories drop down, so when users will select the category those web app items would be displayed on page. Additionally you can add custom fields in web app to search using keyword.
    With editing , clients can login to BC admin and then using photogallery module or web app module ( if used ) to edit the images, add new ones. IBE cannot be used to add new ones but to replace existing ones.

  • [Forum FAQ] How to display an image from Http response in Reporting Services?

    Question:
    There is a kind of scenario that users want to display an image which is from URL. In Reporting Services, if the URL points to an image file, we can directly display it by typing the URL in embedded image. However, some URLs are just sending Http requests
    to server side, then redirect to another position and the server will return the image. For these kind of URLs, Reporting Services can’t directly render the image from Http response.
    Answer:
    To achieve this goal, we can add custom code into the report. Pass the URL as argument into our custom function so that we can create HttpRequest and get the HttpResponse. Then we can use custom function to return the Bytes() from the HttpResponse and render
    it into an image in report.
    Ps: In Reporting Services, it only support drawing Bytes() array into image, so we need to have our custom function return Bytes array.
    Add the assembly and custom code into the report.
    Public shared Function GetImageFromByte(Byval URL as String) As byte()
                    Dim photo as System.Drawing.Image
             Dim Request As System.Net.HttpWebRequest
           Dim Response As System.Net.HttpWebResponse
                  Request = System.Net.WebRequest.Create(URL)
                     Response = CType(Request.GetResponse, System.Net.WebResponse)
                 If Request.HaveResponse Then
                      If Response.StatusCode = Net.HttpStatusCode.OK Then
                           photo = System.Drawing.Image.FromStream(Response.GetResponseStream)
                     End If
                 End If
                  Dim ms AS System.IO.MemoryStream = new System.IO.MemoryStream()
                 photo.Save(ms, System.Drawing.Imaging.ImageFormat.Jpeg)
                    Dim imagedata as byte()
                    imagedata = ms.GetBuffer()
                    return imagedata
    End Function
    Grant the permission for assemblies.
    Go to:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies\RSpreviewPolicy.config
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\Reporting Services\ReportServer\rssrvpolicy.config
    Give “FullTrust” for Report_Expressions_Default_Permissions.
    Insert an image into report.
    Expression:
    =Code.GetImageFromByte("https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSrVwPoAtlcA2A3KaiAJi-XjS4icr1QUnKYr7uzpX3IL3g2GPisAQ")

I've been looking on the Swing tutorials and others forums, all I can have is that a JLabel can load an Icon object, defined by an image URL, but can this URL be like "http://xxxxx/image.jpg" somehow or can it only be a local image URL?>
    I do not know why you start talking about an image on the web then go on to show concerns about whether it will work for a 'local' URL.
    But perhaps this answer will cover the possibilities.
    So long as you can from an URL to the image, and the bytes are available for download (e.g. some web sites wrap a direct call to an image in HTML that embeds the image), the URL based icon constructors will successfully load it.
    It does not matter if that URL points to
    - a web site,
    - a local server ('localhost'),
    - an URL representation of a File on the local file system, or
    - it is inside a Jar file that is on the application's run-time classpath.
    How you go about forming a valid URL to a 'local resources' (or indeed what you regard as local resources) is another matter, depending on the form of the project, and how the resources are stored (see list above).
    Probably the main reason that examples use images at a hard coded URL on the net is that it makes an 'image example' self contained. As soon as we compile and run it, we can see the result. I have posted a few examples like that on these forums.
    Edit 1:
    BTW - Welcome to the Sun forums
