Delayed AOL Email Push to Blackberry Storm

Anyone else having this problem??  When I first starting using my storm, my aol Email was pushed instantly to my storm, even before it hit my desktop inbox.  For the past week, there has been a delay of sometimes up to 45 minutes.  Spoke to tech support and they still can't figure it out...said it might be AOL.  I wasn't sure if there is a way to either forward aol messages directly to my blackberry address or if that would be a waste of time.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
While I don't use AOL, there are indeed many systems in the path of reconciliation. But, BIS diligently checks the email servers to which it is configured on a regular basis. If there is no new email at that time, it has nothing to forward. The only way you can double-check is to be logged into AOL from a desktop computer at the same time. If you see it in your AOL interface, then AOL is not placing it onto whatever server it is that they use to enable it for POP or IMAP. The real way to test is to also have a desktop email client pulling email from AOL in exactly the same manner as BIS is doing. Now, with all three running simultaneously, you could check where the mail arrives first and where last. So, for instance, if it arrives in your AOL client right away but is delayed to the other 2, then you know it's AOL delaying getting it out to their POP/IMAP service.
Basically, I do agree that it is likely an AOL delay issue rather than anything in BIS...unless many others come back with similar reports and from many POP/IMAP services.
Hope that helps!

  • 8703e blackberry email copy to blackberry storm

I have a Blackberry 8703e.  I just purchased a blackberry storm.  I have many emails on the old unit that I need on the new unit.  How do I copy over the old messages.  Some of the old messages are not on my local outlook on my computer.  Please advise if this can be done

    Welcome to the forum.
You can do a full backup of the 8703e, then connect your Storm and do an Advanced Restore (under Backup/Restore in Desktop Manager) and restore just the Messages database.

  • Aol email on BB curve

My email from aol is not going to my BB.  It has been working fine.  I can email from it and receive text messeages.  I am on verizon. I have download updates but no help.  Any thoughts?

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
First thing, check your BIS configuration for any errors...if AOL requires any re-validation, that could be the cause. Instructions for re-validation are here - they don't mention AOL, but the process should be the same:
    http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB13137
Otherwise, here is a KB that discuss causes/resolutions for AOL email issues:
    http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB14081&slic...
Hopefully something there will be helpful. If not, you can try resending the service books:
    http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB02830&slic...
Or deleting and re-creating the BIS conduit for your AOL email:
    http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB10932&slic...
Hopefully something there will be helpful.
    Cheers!

  • How can i get my POP email pushed to my iphone5 instantly (not every 15 minutes) like my old blackberry did?

how can i get my POP email pushed to my iphone5 instantly (not every 15 minutes) like my old blackberry did?

You can't, RIM uses a proprietary mail server (in Canada) that pushes mail to BB devices. You will need to get an iCloud, Yahoo, Gmail Exchange, or Exchange mail account to pust mail to your iPhone.

  • BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 Email setup problem

I have a Tmobile BlackBerry curve 3g originally with a BlackBerry plan (BIS) that has an email, internet, and blackberry messenger working perfectly. My question is, I would like to use my older Blackberry Storm 2 9550 (unlocked) with my present Tmobile BlackBerry plan. However, after the "device change" I could not move my emails perfectly as I would get errors setting up on Storm although I was able to have internet access, use bbm and gps under EDGE signal.
To fully understand the problem, I tried doing the same procedure onto my other unlocked Bold 9650 device and was able to move and synchronize emails, together with internet access, gps and bbm. I just do not understand why I could not move my emails onto Storm 9550 just like on the Bold 9650 which are basically the same unlocked CDMA phone.
    I have done the following:
-back up and restore (everything including service books from the present curve 3g to storm2)
-have done "register now" on host routing table on storm 2
-checked service books on storm2 and able to find "Email [CMIME]
-email setup would result to "The application has encountered an error and cannot continue"
-TCP/IP APN setting set to: epc.tmobile.com
    -Storm 9550 has v5.0.0.1015 (Bundle 1656, Platform 4.2.0.442
If you could please help me step by step I would really appreciate it. Thanks
    Marc

Hello marc1075 and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Sorry to hear you're having an issue with your Email setup application.
Backup your device and do a security wipe (click here) and before any data is restored, click on Email settings. Does the same error occur?
Could you send me a private message with the PIN? I can investigate further for you.
    Thanks!

I can send aol emails and send and receive non aol emails.
I am now thinking of switching to iphone since nobody seems to be able to fix this issue. Can anyone help? Thanks,
    Hello,
If I had a penny for every time someone made that threat. It is so fun, is it not? One of the benefits we have in this world is choice...each of us is free to do so...making threats to do so is silly, IMO. Especially in your first post in this user-to-user volunteer-contributed forum.
You already are in the formal support queue with your carrier. I suggest you continue to pursue that. They have the ability to escalate your case all the way into RIM. You should be asking for that.
    Good luck!

  • AOL EMAIL HELP PLEASE

I know all the reasons to get rid of AOL but I have had it for so long, it is impossible for me to leave it. I have a Palm Pre for years and my son bought me an Ipad2 for my birthday and I was hooked on Apple. Now I bought myself the Iphone 4 and put my AOL account on it but it will not give me instant emails like the Pre does. I called Apple and AOL and neither can help me. Is there any solution to allow me to get instant emails from AOL on the iphone 4? I get AOL emails (which does not support Push) instantly on the Pre without any delay, but the Iphone 4 sends them about 20 minutes after they are sent. The Pre has no waiting whatsoever, giving me the emails within seconds of them being sent, which is most important to me for my business. Thank you for any help!!

Thank you for the fast reply. I tried it and it did not change the timing of the email. I even mimicked the exact setting in the Pre and no change.

  • Email pushing not working correctly for office email - 3 seperate devices/carriers

We switched email hosts several months ago and since our email pushing has not worked correctly. Our host/IT guy has been very unwilling to help me through this (I get the pleasure of being the in-house IT source)
I personally am on AT&T have no problems with the other 3 emails I have set up on my blackberry. However I receive my work account one time a day at roughly 6:15. Another user is on Alltel and he receives spotty emails throughout the day, but his gmail account comes through instantly. The third user is on nextel and he receives his 2-3 times per day.
I began to think this was an email host issue since the three of us are all on different carriers, until I found out a fourth user, also on nextel, receives his emails fine.
Users 1-3 are on Outlook 07 on various versions of the Curve. We have all our messages to stay on the server.
User 4 is on the older nextel blackberry push to talk, and is not on outlook.
We do not have an exchange server. Our emails were all set up through our devices.
Any suggestions? The answers I have received through our carriers is to make sure that our messages are set to be left on the server. Everyone else at the office has given up - but for me this is the quest for the Holy Grail.......I'm determined find the answer!
Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Potential solution for windows for a side-by-side install. This works for me.
To setup a firefox install side by side so that links from external programs (like email) can open (so you don't get a "Firefox is already running but is not responding" message) do the following.
The solution entails the use of the -no-remote switch. Don't use it for the default browser. Use it for the non default browser.
I'll use firefox 3.6 and firefox 4.0 as examples but this should work for future versions.
+ Install firefox 3.6 and Firefox 4.0 in different directories. Eg.
    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe
    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox 4\firefox.exe
+ Open profile manager. Start > Run : firefox.exe -ProfileManager
+ In profile manager create Two Profiles.
    firefox3.6
    firefox4
+ In profile manager select firefox 4 as your default (assuming you want to default to the latest) and tick "Don't ask at startup"
    + Create two windows shortcuts.
    * General: Mozilla Firefox 4 (default). Shortcut > Target: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox 4\firefox.exe". Shortcut > Start In: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox 4"
    * General: Mozilla Firefox 3.6. Shortcut > Target: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -p firefox3.6 -no-remote. Shortcut > Start In: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox"
That's it. Links from external programs should now open in your default browser.

  • Is Verizon going to get the Blackberry Storm 3 (9570)?

I am currently an Alltel customer that was bought out by at&t.  We are set to change over in December or January.  I may or may not stay with at&t as I have heard bad things about their service.  I am interested in a complete touch screen Blackberry and am wondering if Verizon is set to get the Blackberry Storm 3?  I heard they were and then heard it was cancelled?!  Anyone know? Thanks!

  • Emails from my Blackberry are getting trapped by spam filtering

It's not a consistent thing, which makes this more aggravating, but I have my work email set up on my Storm (9530), and many times, when I reply to an email that involves my co-workers, my emails get trapped by our online spam filtering.  Both my work email, as well as the "bis" Blackberry information has been added to the "whitelist", but these emails still have occasion to be trapped.
Can someone please help me get to the bottom of what is being embedded in the source header information from these emails that might be causing this problem?
I've noticed this is true of other emails originating from BlackBerry phones, regardless of the carrier.
    Thank you.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
I'm thinking that you need to work with your SPAM filtration vendor...all of the header information is fully visible to an administrator who traps one of the captured emails. They need to compare that trapped email to the rules they have in their SPAM filter. I pretty much doubt that anyone "out here" could possibly have the level of access required to do any meaningful diagnostics. Unless I misunderstand your request...
    Good luck!

  • Don't want my AOL Email to show in the MESSAGES mailbox

Just got the 8300 from Verizon.    I set it up to get mail from my AOL mailbox.    The mail shows up in the "green" mail envelope on the main screen..     There is also a "mailbox" on the main screen.   That mailbox collects every voicecall, text message AND email that I recieve.    So..I am getting email in BOTH places.    I don't want the email to show up in the mailbox with text and voicecalls...I just want my email to show up in the "green" mail envelope.
So....does anyone know how to program the 8300 to "not" put my AOL mail in the messages mailbox?   I've messed around with almost every menu...trying to find a way...but no luck.
    Thanks

    Go to Solution.

On your BB device, you have a 'main' Messages folder, which collects ALL email, messages, SMS, PIN messages etc.
That is as designed. You can remove the SMS text messages to a separate folder (Messages > Menu > Options > General Options > scroll down to SMS and Email inboxes and choose > Separate.
You also have an AOL email inbox.  You can hide it , you really don't need it.

  • "Not connected" error on Z30 with a hacked AOL email account

My AOL email account was hacked a few days ago.  Since this happened I get bumped offline with “Not connected” when I’m signed into my account on my Z30.  When I open the account details the message says “An unexpected problem occurred with <DESCRIPTION>-<USERNAME> Some features may not be working correctly”
The account works once to synchronise email when I delete and re-install it on the Blackberry then intermittently displays the above error messages.  However, even when there are no error messages the emails do not sync.
I don’t have this problem on my other AOL accounts or on any other non-AOL accounts on my Blackberry.  I have uninstalled then reinstalled all accounts on the Blackberry, compared configs but the problem with this account remains.
I’ve had no feedback from AOL yet but I think that changes may have been made to my email that I must update in my Z30 config?
Any ideas what I need to do would be much appreciated!

  • Emails sent from Blackberry

Is there a way for a copy of emails sent from Blackberry to be saved to Sent email on web?

If you're using Gmail or Yahoo, it happens automatiicaly.
If you're on a private domain, it's hard to say what will happen, not knowing your email server type, POP or IMAP. However, at your BIS account login, where you setup your email push to the BlackBerry, you can set a BCC of all email to where ever you desire.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Your BlackBerry will have ONE main message folder "Messages". You will have two others, one for Yahoo and one for the AOL account.
ALL email will come to the main Messages folder, be default, and that can't be changed. I would suggest hiding your Yahoo and AOL folders, since they basically duplicate what is in the main messages folder.
Some people will hide the main messages folder and leave the other email specific folders visable, however since your main messages folder is also the only place your PIN and other type messages will collect, you might miss one of if you hide that folder.
For the missed calls in your main messages folder--press the green phone dial key > Menu key (left of the trackball) and press Options > Call Logging. Set that to NONE, and save.
If you have further questions, please ask.
