Delayed sending of Ovi Mail

I'm having a problem where some email I send from my Ovi Mail account take days to arrive. (Or in one case two weeks).
Has anyone else experienced this, and if so were you able to get the problem solved?
I've contacted Nokia, however it can be difficult to persuade them that the problem is genuine!

Thanks for the reply. I'm glad I'm not the only one.
Unfortunately, the reply I received from the Nokia contact centre was irrelevant and contained instructions for a completely different handset!
Its so frustrating dealing with them. Why is it so hard for them to answer the question?
perhaps they receive so many emails every day that makes it hard to answer all the questions patiently and without rushing?

  • HT2488 How do I create an iCal Alarm to delay send an e-mail in my Drafts folder of Mail?

I've learned how to use iCal Alarm to schedule sending an e-mail.  However, all of the instructions I read say that I have to type the e-mail inside the automator's "New Mail Message". Is there a way to type the message in Mail, save it in drafts, and then create an iCal Alarm to schedule sending it?
I got as far as "Get Specified Mail Items" --> "Display Mail Messages".  This sequence displayed a message in Drafts.  What next to get it to send that message it displayed?  I tried adding "Send Outgoing Message" to the sequence with no success.  And I tried adding "New Mail Message" --> "Send Outgoing Message" to the sequence with no success.
Sometimes there will be several e-mails I want to delay send (some that I started earlier in the day, saved in Drafts and finished up in the wee hours of the morning) and it seems a waste to have to create a new iCal Alarm for each.
    Thank you!

  • Mail - Delay sending of a composed message

    Hi,
I wanted to know if there is a way in Apple mail which will delay sending mail for some time. Say I have composed a message today but I want to send that email tomorrow afternoon. Is there some way or some plugin with which I can do this ?
    Thanks

I think you are looking for more of an auto-send, than what the previous user suggested. I am not sure if Mac can do this, but if you Google "send e-mail at specific time", there are many programs that will allow you to do this. I know that some of them will interface with Outlook, and Entourage, so if you are sending the Mac e-mail through Entourage, you should be able to find the right free software.
FYI. There are also services that allow you to do this with a text.

  • Unable to conect the ovi-mail-server

     Hi!
I just got me a new nokia e55 and was trying to set up an ovi-mail-acount. It looks like it works find, eccept I couldent send e-mails from the phone. And after some days I couldent receve e-mails. And suddenly, those few e-mails I'v got dissepeard from the innbox. "The phone was set up to store them one month). And now it looks like the phone have been blocked from the ovimail serever.
I tryed to register a new acount and a new ovimailadress, but when I try to configure the phone it just says: unable to conect the server or something like that.
I can accsess my ovimailacount on web, and use by my computer. It works perfect. I can eaven log on the ovi webmail with my phonebrowser. But it if I do so, i can onely read e-mails. Nothing else.
What have I done wrong? Do anyone have any ideas?

Surprise!  Without doing anything, about an hour later after I had the problem, it all started working again...receiving and sending emails.
Interimly, I ued the iCloud webmail.
And in response to your question...I had highlighted a User Account in the left hand column but it still would not let me enter anything in the incoming server space.
Mysteriously... who knows why, it all is working again.
Thank you for your reply.  Terry

  • Delaying sending email

Does anyone know a way to adjust the time on sending an email in Mail 2.1 ? For instance you may want to delay sending for two hours or perhaps the next day. Other than saving as a draft?

Check this link for a collection of AppleScripts called Mail Scripts.
    http://homepage.mac.com/aamann/Mail_Scripts.html
The script to use from the collection of scripts is Schedule Delivery (Mail) which allows you to send individual messages at predefined times (this script uses iCal for scheduling message delivery).

  • Ovi Mail and Outlook 2010; from/subject/date field...

I'm using Outlook 2010 version for my home laptop and tuesday evening all incoming mails missed information for sender, subject and the date/time fields. Connecting to Ovi mail by browser, all these information is existing on mails.
Is there has been change on server setup after moving to Yahoo servers??

Mail messages always include more headers than are normally shown by the mail client. Sometimes people may wish to examine the full set of headers to check the veracity of a message, or to determine its actual origin, and generally when trouble-shooting. You control whether or not you see them with menu View/Message/Long Headers, or you may have a button for it on your toolbar.

  • Ovi mail not receiving mails

Anyone else has problems with receiving mails? Sending a mail to my account causes undeliverable pingpong message back. It tells that account does not exist... Funny that sending a mail still works from that "non-existing" mail address.
I've complained to support, but it appears that they don't care. I am kind of out of humour with this ovi mail stuff (referring to the (in)famous "we lost your mails for two weeks episode a while ago")

Impossible to say without knowing the details of your mail configuration.

  • Ovi Mail

Hey...Is there something going on with Ovi Mail? I havent been able to access it since yesterday. Outlook and Nokia Messaging cant connect to it, while opening it on my desktop/laptop just gives me a page with "Ovi Mail powered by Yahoo! can't load".
If you find my post helpful please click the green star on the left under the avatar. Thanks.

We are sorry for the inconvenience.
The emails that you received prior to the Ovi Mail move to Yahoo! are safe. You do not see all of them yet because they are in the process of being moved to your updated Ovi Mail account. You will see your emails in your inbox once the move is complete. During this process, you can still send and receive new emails.
The info email about the change was sent out couple of weeks ago (to primary email address mentioned in Ovi account details). It may be that old emails or contacts are not visible during the transition phase but as soon as the transfer is complete, you will see all of your old emails and full contact list. You should also receive another email when transfer is complete.

  • Ovi Mail Problem

Having problems signing into Ovi Mail. Yahoo told me to go to the Nokia site and fill in the "contact us" form. I can't find it - been going around in circles. Does anyone have an email address I can use to report my problem? Thanks!

I found an email address I used several years ago to contact Nokia regarding a problem with Ovi Mail. In that instance I was contacted back and the problem was resolved.
However, this time I received the following reply...
"Our support is not available via direct emails, please send your question with the Ask Nokia form that you can find on the local Nokia webpages at the following link http://www.europe.nokia.com
[This is an automatically generated acknowledgement. Please do not reply to this e-mail.]"
    Guess what?
There's no Ask Nokia form to be found and after going around in circles AGAIN, I ended up at the usual support pages with absolutely no way to contact Nokia to let them know that my mail has been down for 2 weeks!
PLEASE CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO CONTACT SUPPORT FOR OVI MAIL!!
Nokia websites have updated so the links you used did not work. To contact Nokia UK, you can chat with our representatives here: http://www.nokia.com/gb-en/support/contact/

  • Program or script to delay sending emails? - For late night workers

    Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone knows how I can delay sending emails out. Sometimes I am up very early (4am) to work. I don't want these emails going out at such a weird hour so I need to find a way to tell the emails to go out at a specified time (ie. 8am).
I don't think Mail has this option. I heard there are scripts out there but the ones I've tried are all out of date.
Can anyone help? A script OR another decent email program would do

I'm not aware of Mail having this option, either, but you can this this rather easily with iCal.
In iCal, double click on a day, and choose Edit. As you look over the options for the New Event, click the alarm (by default, it says None), and scroll down until you see Email. Of course, you can choose the date and time of the future email according to your needs.
