Delaying packets by 5 seconds?

I was recently introduced to the console appIication and I think I might be spending too much time looking at the logs. LOL
Anyway, is this anything to be concerned with?

Im also having a problem while in , "Second Life."
That is why I am concerned.
i was really hoping someone wasn't gonna just pull my wire about my "funny comment" regarding me spending to much time looking at the console.
There is a reason to my rhyme.
You see in Second LIfe, there is a level meter that shows you packet loss, and also a percentage. And makes the game lag, right?
You see im no expert thats why im asking and want to know, what my messages mean in the console. Believe me, Ive done searches within the forum, to at least give me some definitions of the messages, becasue obviouosly they are somewhat common, but it all depends on the context to say what they mean for each user that is receiving them.
I really don't want to waste anyones time in the forum, but if its regarding my system and playback , and functionality I need to know what I can, if i can, do to improve my system.
So these packet delays , and these other recurring logs as I mentioned in my first and second post. What is going on with my computer?

Plug the device into a wall outlet and leave it for about 20 minutes. If it has not powered on at that point try a reset by pressing and holding the home and power buttons for about 15 seconds until the white Apple logo appears.

  • Weblogic 10.3.2. application launch delayed by approximately 60 seconds

    Hi,
The application was developed using Flex 2, java, hibernate and spring framework(ver. 2.0.3). It works fine in the oracle Application server oc4j based container.
When deployed this application in weblogic 10.3.2, after entering the username and password, the first page is delayed by approximately 60/70 seconds. The full log file shows this time is consumed by HttpSessionContextIntegrationFilter. As you can see below in the log, the processing for this class stats at 10:46:23 and then it moves on to the next processing at 10:47:26. Please let me know, how I could resolve/troubleshoot this issue.
[Mar 24 10:46:23] DEBUG (FilterChainProxy.java) - /efc-flex/efc.swf reached end of additional filter chain; proceeding with original chain
    [Mar 24 10:46:23] DEBUG (ExceptionTranslationFilter.java) - Chain processed normally
[Mar 24 10:46:23] DEBUG (HttpSessionContextIntegrationFilter.java) - SecurityContextHolder now cleared, as request processing completed
    [Mar 24 10:47:26] DEBUG (FilterChainProxy.java) - Converted URL to lowercase, from: '/efc-flex/j_spring_security_logout'; to: '/efc-flex/j_spring_security_logout'
    [Mar 24 10:47:26] DEBUG (FilterChainProxy.java) - Candidate is: '/efc-flex/j_spring_security_logout'; pattern is /**; matched=true
    Thanks
    Murugan.

Here is the dump for the issue above. Could anyone take a look at this and let me know, what the issue is..

  • HT4623 Why after my upgrade to OS 7 are all my key strokes now delayed 5 to 10 seconds after typing?

After upgrading my iPhone to OS 7, all my key strokes take 5 - 10 seconds to populate, why?

    RESET DEVICE
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for device to restart (no data will be lost).

  • Wifi - lost packets every 5 seconds

I have MBP - running Mavericks and it fails to stay connected to my home network for more than 5 seconds. i have no issue connecting to other networks and my wife's MBP and our iphones are all connected to the same network without any issue. The connectivity is just lost after 5 seconds, tried restarting the modem/router and the MBP with no use. Cleaned up the connection from the keychain/network and re-configured the network with no use. Sometimes, the network wouldn't even get configured with a connection time out error. I understand from other MBP owners threads that this issue has been existing since a couple of years, but I can't waste any more time troubleshooting and hoping someone has a solution to this.
    Thanks in advance,
    Bharath

    Hello Bharath.Kolla,
After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help in this situation. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps and helpful advice concerning connectivity issues:

  • Having sound delay by about 5 seconds when I start any video stream, know how to fix?

From any app or mail, when I click for a video to start, it will start immediately, the sound will not start until about 5 seconds later, very annoying.  Does anyone know the fix for this?

Listen to this person, he knows exactly what he's talking about. My unit had the freezing problem, the visual artifact problem, and eventually would only show a blank white screen after I had tinkered too long. Luckily I have another computer that I hadn't yet upgraded to itunes 7 and it had the last firmware upgrade before the itunes 7 one. From disk mode I was able to restore it to the previous firmware version, and now the ipod works perfectly.
I too am almost disqusted with Apple for 1) missing this problem and 2) not letting people know!
I wonder how many more people are going to have lots of problems so apple can protect their PR.
Anyways, what would be really helpful would be if someone could upgrade the latest firmware installer before itunes 7 (it's an individual ipod updating program, not itunes 6.xx)somewhere on the internet so users could download it and do away with this evil 1.2 firmware.

  • Error in console.  Delay 5 seconds?  Anyone know what this means.

    Hello,
My internet is really slow when I access a page, yet I get really good download speeds. I have DSL. In my console, I have an error that pops up a lot:
mDNSResponder: Repeated transitions for interface en1 (192.168.1.101); delaying packets by 5 seconds
Does anyone know what this means. My PC is faster at accessing pages for some reason. I think it has something to do with DNS, but I am not sure. Any suggestions?
    thanks.
    adrianheredia

The fact that it's not running is more than likely the cause of the error. It registered a callback handler with fseventsd and disappeared, so fseventsd is complaining.

  • T530 boots only at second attempt

    Hi guys,
I bought used T530 via ebay, but got several unpleasant surprises, when it was delivered.
HDD had reported problems, there was Supervisor Password set, etc. On the other hand - more then 800 days guarantee left.
Decided to keep it, as it was a good deal (not sure anymore), but mainly as I need computer these days and can't afford time to search for a new one.
Anyway, it has more then 800 days rest guarantee, so HDD is already replaced by Lenovo.
Supervisor Password was another challenge, but some guy remove it. He said - without any welding, so guarantee should be still valid.
Still one very annoying problem persists:
My new T530 always fails the first boot after shutdown. Not after reboot, only after shutdown.
When I press the power button, it lights green, disk led blinks, WiFi led blinks, DVD shows some activity and ... nothing, blank screen. No more LEDs are up, only green power button (and slight noise from inside - HDD or more probably - the fan).
Then I have to press and keep for 2-3 seconds power button, it goes off.
Then press power button again and ... bingo. Everything looks perfect - BIOS screen comes, and it boots perfectly fine.
Once booted it works very well. Tested it with Windows 7 and Windows 8.1
Run all Lenovo diagnostics - no any issue.
I did a lot of attempts to bye-pass this: hard reset, with battery, without battery, only AC, only batter, removed any device that can be removed - DVD, HDD - the same story.
Even try to remove the memory, but then I got (expected) beeps 1-3-3-1.
One more observation - I can't reach AMT BIOS - in fact I don't have AMT, even according the FRU number I should have. I see AMT options in main BIOS, but when I press Ctrl+P nothing happen - it just continues with the boot.
Who knows - may be some (smart) previous owner already selected "Permanently Disable" option for AMT.
Can this be the "blocking" issue, that prevents the notebook to continue with the POST? I tried to set AMT to "Disable" only, but this did not help at all.
One last point - except annoying situation, that I have to follow some "ritual" in order to start my notebook, there is one real impact - no way to upgrade the BIOS  firmware. Does not matter is it via Windows 7/8 or boot (DOS) CD - at the end after patching the firmware, it tries to reboot (but not just reboot, it makes real shutdown).
Then, on one hand it "hangs", because of the problem that I still can't identify, on the other hand it "knows" that BIOS upgrade is going on and does not allow me to switch off via power button - (gives strange, undocumented short beeps: 2-3) So, I have to unplug power, remove battery (yes, I know I can "brick" it, but do you see any other option?),   hard resent, prey, switch on again (up to 3-4 times) and finally (so far - always)  I get old BIOS version restored.
OK, sorry for the logs post. I hope you will have string nerves to read it all.
Any help and ideas will be greatly appreciated.
Of course, at the end: "Contact Lenovo support" is the ultimate answer of any problem. But there is a trade off there as well - what is more annoying - current situation or time, waiting till notebook  is serviced.
    Best Regards
    BullDog

  • Very Odd Kernel Panic On Boot Up

I just today had a one-of-a-kind kernel panic on bootup from a completely shutdown machine. The box is a PowerMac G4, Mirrored Drive Door, dual-core 1.25 GHz, OS X 10.4.9, 512 MB factory installed RAM and 512 User-installed Ram for a total of 1GB. Have
Energized computer. Diverted attention. When I turned around to sit down and get to work, I was confronted with the following screen: There was the multi-lingual Kernel panic box on the gray screen, the "throbber" that usually rotates beneath the dark-gray Apple logo rotating away, and "overprinted" on all this was the "international no" symbol centered is a round-cornered translucent box (similar to what you see when you use the keyboard to alter the volume backing up the speaker icon), in the absolute center of the screen.
I powered down the computer and powered it up. Boot without a problem.
I then restarted the computer. Restarted flawlessly.
After using it for a little while, I did a full shut down and restart, used it for a little while, and shut down and restarted again. All these evolutions completed without failure or problems of any kind.
I've verified the startup disk successfully, SMART status is "Verified" for this hard disk, and have performed permissions repair successfully–with no indications of any permissions having to be repaired. All seems to be working normally and well.
Has anyone ever seen anything like this? I've Googled for this problem, and searched these forums, and have found nothing to compare to this.
For general edification, I've included the output of system.log for what looks like the time of the first failed boot and the boot immediately after. For the record, my two peripherals in constant use are a LaCie 60GB FW HD and a Wacom Intuos tablet, which is my primary somatic pointing device at this time–this log excerpt follows.
I cannot locate any report on this event in any kernel log. I also put the machine to sleep to check for kernel panic on wakeup from sleep (no problems there either). And the 512MB user-installed RAM is a Crucial memory module that has been in use for at least a year with no problems.
Thanks in advance for any insights.
    Sam Klein.

Well, there's the prob: this kernel panic did not leave a log report.
The last one before that was 17 Oct, 07; the last one before that was 26 Jan, 07.
I just don't seem to have a panic log for this event. The system log is the best I could come up with.

  • AirPort Extreme Update 2007-004 did not solve my reliability problems.

The latest update from Apple did not fix the problem on my system, and now I don´t know what I should do, is there anything I can do to somehow fix it?
I can´t use the computer like this, it´s very annoying, for example I can´t browse the web with Safari(constant "Failed to open page" or "You´re not connected to the internet" messages), ethernet is not an option, besides, what´s the point of a laptop if I cannot connect to the network wirelessly?
This is my first MacBook by the way, I like its look & feel, easy of use and integration, but this AirPort issue completely took away the "just works" image I had of Apple´s products.
Don´t get me wrong though, I knew the Mac was not going to be perfect, and that there would be problems(as usual), but I would never have expected something like this.
I´d really like to get this thing to work, the Mac pretty much offers the kind of integration that I´ve always wanted in Linux.
Anyway.. am I the only one whose system is still having problems with AirPort?
What can I do to fix this?
Should I just wait until Apple releases another bug fix for this? how long would this take?
Should I return this MacBook to an Apple store?
I bought this in the U.S. and there is no store on my country(Uruguay), there´re however some Apple Authorized Service Providers, should I take it to them? would they give me a brand new Mac or repair this one for free if I´m covered by the warranty?
I read(http://www.apple.com/support/contact/) that since I´m still within the 90 days of ownership I can call Apple Technical support, but since they don´t have a number for my country, is there an alternative way of contacting them?(via email?).
I don´t know.. what do you people think I shoud do?
+Please don´t recommend me to install an older version, I really don´t want to, besides how do I know it will fix the issue?+
    About the problem:
    Symptoms:
AirPort signal level randomly decreases until connection is lost, and there is no automatic reconnection.
Manual reconnection is required and might not always succeed, and even if it does, it doesn´t last long(usually less than 3 minutes).
Sometimes the network is missing from the menu(when clicking the wifi icon on status bar) and turning off and on AirPort is required.
Judging from what I´ve read here and found on google, this is a known common problem that dates back to at least april 2007(see [1]).
    *Some (useful?) Information:*
    0) It might have worked better before updating (10.4.9 is the version of my Installation discs, I didn´t reinstall) to 10.4.10, but I can´t say for sure.
    1) According to [1] this seems to be a software problem in OS X, since the atheros driver works fine under Windows.
    2) It doesn´t matter if the laptop is running from battery or not, and it doesn´t seem to be related to waking from sleep state since it happens on a clean restart too.
    3) Once in a while, the OS asks me to enter the WPA passphrase again to connect to the network, why does it do this if the passphrase is already stored inside the default login keychain?. (entering the passphrase again does not fix the problem)
    4) Wireless router is a speedtouch modem, it´s properly configured and it´s known to work, its leds indicate that everything is ok.
    5) The MacBook is approx. 6m away from the speedtouch router(walls in between), electronic devices: headless computer next to the speedtouch modem, printer, radio, tv (note: not that it matters since the laptop has worked from this location before).

    Hi,
Well I don´t know what to think now.. I installed the last security update, restarted, went to sleep and now it seems to be working much better, at least there doesn´t seem to be so many drop outs.
I find it a little strange that the airport icon on the status bar that shows signal strength keeps changing, but maybe this is normal behaviour?, don´t know..
I can´t say that the problem is fixed either since I didn´t start to experience airport issues immediately after I updated to 10.4.10, so who knows?
Maybe it works for two days in a row and then it suddenly starts malfunctioning for no apparent reason.
It could be very well be a combination of little problems here and there(some even caused by me editing system preferences) that add up and manifest as a bigger problem, I´ve no idea how to trace it, and as long as it works, I don´t care..
I doubt this will help anyone, but anyway.. the last thing I remember doing before restarting was executing:
    # System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Apple80211.framework/Versions/A/Resources/airp ort --updateprefs
which examines network preferences and repairs them if necessary.
Then I went into System Preferences > Network, AirPort´s options and restored default settings, after that I configured it to require administrator password to "Create Computer-to-Computer networks".
I´m hoping that the whole airport issue not working after the last airport update was a weird glitch or even better, caused by me.
If it starts malfunctioning again, I´ll simply call AppleCare and let them deal with it, by the way, it kind of ***** that the only way of contacting them is via phone and no phone number is listed for my country.. no email address? ...
    Best Regards,
    Federico

  • Intel-iMac shuts down

    Hello,
I have two very old iPod's that still work great and a new iTouch. I still have an old PowerBook G4 that works great. The only problems that I have are the fans always running very loud and it's very hot.
Anyways, I bought one of the first iMac G5's and it worked great for the first year. After that I had nothing, but problems. Very loud fan noise and it would always shut down even while just using Firefox. I was glad that Apple gave out an extended warranty on the iMac G5's. Of course they replaced the power supply and logic board a few times. I had to get Apple corporate involved and that's when they gave me a new intel-iMac.
I just hit the 2 year mark with my new intel-iMac. The computer has ran great, but now it shuts down on me for no reason. I don't have loud fan noise, but the case gets very hot! I hope it's not a hardware problem again. Could it be a software problem?

  • No sleep 'til Brooklyn - Any idea what these Console errors mean?

Hi all - elsewhere on this board, I had responded to someone having problems with his Mac not going to sleep. I'm getting similar symptoms with my G5 tower, in the timeframe of the last week or so (around the time of OS X, Security, various other updates?) I also added a Seagate eSATA drive this last week.
Over the past couple of days, I've tried a couple of things:
    1) unmounted and physically removed the eSATA drive - no change, G5 still won't sleep.
    2) change the energy saver settings to 1 minute - no change, G5 still won't sleep
    3) zapped the PRAM, fixed permissions, ran the whole thing through a TechTools Pro work-up - no change, G5 still won't sleep
As a last step, I cleared the console and captured what it's showing from the moment I hit sleep to when it's awake again (given that the main drive kept on whirring all the time) Here is what it shows:
    +Jan 2 20:10:14 Vincet-G5 webdavd[808]: stream_transaction: CFStreamError: domain 12, error 7+
    +Jan 2 20:10:28 Vincet-G5 configd[46]: SecKeychainFindGenericPassword err= -25308 ( =0xffff9d24, secErrStr=User interaction is not allowed. ) (current= vincet)+

    +Jan 2 20:10:44 Vincet-G5 mDNSResponder: NAT Port Mapping (LLQ event port.): timeout+
So, I'm left with a sneaking suspicion that it's something to do with that line about the generic keychain password, although having "." claim my computer is weird!
Does any of this make any sense to anyone reading this? I'm going to cross-post on the G5 board just in case.
    Peace,
    Vince

  • Able to connect via airport but not via ethernet since fresh install

New format and reinstall of OS X. Software update to 10.4.5. Now I need to use ethernet and I get an error. I did NOT have ethernet attached when doing the install.
This used to work before the reinstall. I have tried different cables and different ports attached to the D-Link router (I use DSL).
Other computers on the net (iMac G5 via ethernet and Windows via Wireless) have no problems.
I have tried the network assistant, renewing DHCP lease (which does not work), manual config, ifconfig up and down and even tried to reapply the 10.4.5 update but to no avail. I have even rebooted (Ugh) several times.

What now? - I really don't feel like reinstalling with en0 connected just to fix this
    Thanks for any advice

I would attempt to find a Windows machine to set it up as Samsung's Mac software is abysmal.
However I have found this step by step on an Amazon review, I don't know if it will work:
    1. Setup the physical printer machine according to manual. Then connect it your Macbook via USB. Make sure the printer is powered on and verify the Macbook is powered on with wireless network Access.
    2. Insert the supplied software CD and double click on the CD from your desktop.
    3. Double click and execute to Mac_installer folder >Installer OS X icon.
    4. Complete the license agreement and installation steps.
    5. This will be a standard install without the wireless option. This is your only option. You will not be given a chance to do the wireless installation like in the Windows version install.
    6. Enter in the admin password to install the software.
    7. Once the software confirmation screen pops up to confirm your installation was successful, proceed to DISconnect your USB connection to you Samsung Printer.
    8. In case you missed it, Disconnect the USB connection between your Samsung printer and Macbook.
    9. Navigate to Applications > Utilities >Print Setup Utility  (For Mac OS X 10.5 - 10.7) Navigate to Applications > System preferences > Print & Fax.
    10. Click Add on the printer list (For Mac OS X 10.5 - 10.7, click the PLUS sign) and new display will pop up.
    11. On the "Default" Tab of the pop up display, select or highlight the Samsung printer. In the printer name column, it should be listed as "Samsung ML-2160 Series (NNNN)", then in the Kind column, It should be listed as "Bonjour"
Note: DO NOT select the Samsung Printer with the "USB" in the Kind column. This Samsung printer - USB option should only be selected if you intend to print from USB.
    12.  Click ADD, then select continue to create the print queue.
    13.  Now open up any word document with text and print a test page.

  • SR MBP Wakes immediately after being put to sleep

    Background:
I've recently been experiencing consistent random sleep failures with my Santa Rosa Macbook Pro. Whether I sleep via the apple menu, or close the lid, the MBP goes through its sleep procedure, then the split second that the MBP latch light begins to breathe, the DVD-drives makes its 'wake up' sound and the MBP powers back on.
Initially I thought my problem was related to an application. Firefox and MSN messenger seemed to consistently cause the problem. Then I found that it can still occur with neither open. It 'seems' that if I turn off my airport immediately prior to sleeping, the MBP will sleep without problems. Sometimes if I turn it off, then immediately turn it back on and sleep, the MBP will sleep okay. This doesn't seem to work consistently.
I had also thought this might have something to do with my airdisk since it's been suffering the (well-documented at this point) problem where airdisks start giving "Unknown user, login [...]" errors. This doesn't seem to be the case though since the problem still occurs if I disable the airdisk agent and don't mount any drives.
NOTE: This doesn't seem to happen with my GF's MBP. It too is a 2.2GHz Santa Rosa machine on the same AEBS network.
    *System Details*:
    - Santa Rosa 2.2Ghz Stock Macbook Pro
    - OSX 10.4.10, all updates installed including airport updates
    - Gigabit Airport Extreme with Seagate FreeAgent Pro Airdisk attached via USB
    Observations:
In my logs below, it seems that a successful sleep does NOT show the following lines in the system log. This might be related to having turned off the airport in order to get a successful sleep:

I have had the same problem you described for the past week. Very frustrating, also very dangerous. I got in from work today and my mbp had turned itself on with the lid closed, it was absolutely roasting hot, must have gone close to cooking it. Mine seems to be worse when its on power, did you guys notice any difference on power or battery?

  • Network crashes on startup

    The Problem:
Currently, my Open Directory master server seems to not be able to startup networking while booting from a restart. Network becomes at least partially available once the server has finished booting, but some services, such as login authorization for my 90 lab workstations, won't work until I send a HUP command to lookupd on the server.
    Problem History:
The problem started Friday morning, when I was informed that no one could log in to the classroom Macs. Investigating the server's log file, I found that the network connection had dropped around 7am (all servers showed a dropped network around the same time), but this particular server didn't handle it very well. Here's the log for that time:

This was all on OS X Server 10.4.3. After logging in, I had full access to the Internet, and could run lookups on ntp.indiana.edu (which it couldn't find on startup) and browse the web. Strangely, logins for our file sharing server (which is a replica of the OD master server) worked fine as long as the OD master was on. Here's what wasn't working (that I know of):
OD authorization for the lab workstation (bound via LDAPv3)
    OD replication to file server
    Retrospect network registration
Sending a "kill -HUP" command to the lookupd process fixed all the OD-related problems (until I restart, and have to do it again), but I'd like to know what's going on at startup. Any ideas?
Also, the server is now at 10.4.5, for Indiana's new switch to Daylight Saving Time. That didn't fix the problem.
    Thanks,
    Ryan

This is still happening. I actually completely rebuilt the server, upgraded it to Server 10.4.6, and imported my users, groups, and computer lists.
I also have two OD replica servers, which I am going to rebuild and take off of replication duties.
